Theodore Giovanni, star defenseman for the NHL Seattle Sabretooths and reluctant heir to the Giovanni Organized Crime Family, is no stranger to unwanted attention from the public eye. Climbing to the top of the league, he has managed to hide his dark family secrets, keeping them out of the spotlight, and buried in the past where they belong.
But what happens when that bloody past comes back to haunt him?
Determined to never again be led astray by love, or under the mercy of another’s control, Danica Ellis is no longer the helpless girl Theo once fell for. Forced to face her own ghost lurking in the shadows, she has spent the last seven years reclaiming her strength and learning to fight her own battles.
But as blackmail threats continue to escalate, and a dangerous stalker emerges from the shadows seeking vengeance to be paid in blood, Danica and Theo find themselves thrown together once more, forced to navigate the treacherous landscape laid out before them. As past demons lie in wait, threatening to reopen old wounds and divulge sinister truths, can they work together to put an end to this living nightmare? Or will the evils that haunt them finally drag Danica and Theo down into the darkness?
M. George is an indie author who lives in the Pacific Northwest with her spouse, three young children and fur baby Goldendoodle. She has always been passionate about reading and writing. Imagining her favorite stories come to life in a way where the characters continue to live long after their stories ended on page, and creating worlds of her own where her characters live rent-free in her mind. When she is not lost in a book or her writing, she enjoys spending her free time with her children, supporting them in their extracurriculars and playing video games or watching shows with her spouse. What a read!!! After that big cliff hanger at the end of book 1, I was very intrigued by which direction book 2 would go.
This book is craftily written in the sense that you could read Unbroken Promises as a standalone but I highly recommend that you read book 1 to get the full experience.
Book 2 picks up 7 years after book 1. And, when I tell you the growth that Danica had was so cathartic to experience as a reader after all the trauma and suffering she endured. Danica has come out on the other side as a strong, independent, self sufficient woman and I haven’t rooted for character that hard in a while. This book wasn’t all healing and angst but had a good mix of mystery thrown in as well as Theo and Danica try to figure out who has kept them apart for several years. Oh Theo… when the book first started I was so annoyed with this man but in M. George I trust because this man beyond redeemed himself. Theo is literally the walking “if he wanted to he would” guy.
Unbroken Promises was a good follow up that kept me guessing right up to the very end. Read this one if you love a good slowburn, second chance, and mystery.
Theo and Danica are back again after Theo ripped our heart out in book 1. But we’re back 7 years later! Theo did what he had to do to keep Danica safe so he gets a slight pass. With Theo and Danica living in the same city, he still has his eye on her all while being the star defenseman for the NHL’s Seattle Sabertooths and the heir to the Giovanni Organized Crime Family. Yes Ladies! More Hockey And Mafia! But The SHOCK Value is our girl Danica. She’s not helpless and fragile like she was in Book 1. She’s strong and bad ass with alot of new moves under her belt. She’s reclaiming her life just in time to have Theo crash back into and dealing with a new set of problems including a new stalker. As for Theo, his family problems and his past are coming back to haunt him whether he likes it or not. Book 1 left was with a cliff hanger but Book 2 did NOT disappoint. It was plot heavy. It was shocking. I got back on that emotional rollercoaster I experienced from Book 1. It was spicy and everyone just knows I love the spicy. It was well balanced with the plot and spicy this duet is definitely in my top 10 for both hockey and mafia romances. M.George did it again! She’s has a passion for plot and smut and it’s never a disappoint when I read her stories. If anyone happens to come across Theo in real life, give him my number 😂.
After the first book wrecked me (in a good way) I wasn’t sure what to expect with the second book. This book exceeded anything I could have expected. I loved the suspense, learning different back stories, and trying to figure out who the blackmailer was. Then of course there is Theo and Danica. Their chemistry screams off the pages. It was hard to watch them be apart. But the slow build to them getting together was fire! I love how Danica became so confident in herself and her ability to fight for herself. The ending was chef’s kiss and I simply can’t wait for the next book.
After the way M left us hanging precariously off the side of the cliff after Splintered Truths, Unbroken Promises sure came at me with a punch.
M. George is a masterful storyteller. The way she seamlessly weaves the characters and the plot together, so that when the twist comes - and trust me, it COMES HARD - it is so unexpected, but then, at the same time, and in hindsight, you're slapping your forehead and thinking "OMG, why didn't I see that!"
I have loved Theo and Dani since their kiss at the party in chapter one, book one, and I've been rooting for them through the two books. We knew they would get their happy ever after, but I do't think any of us knew just how rough the road would be to get there.
Unbroken Promises closes everything out, but it also opens the door for the next books in this universe... including the love of my life, Bash. (no, but really... hands off guys, he's mine).
I love this book, this duet, and I know I will love the rest of the series because M introduced the side characters in a way that I actually care about them... which doesn't always happen for me in the books that I read.
Thank you, M for allowing me early access to Their and Dani, and the rest of the gang. I can't wait to see what's in store next!
The story picks up seven years after the last book but at the beginning every other chapter goes from present to past. It gives the readers background to understand the present. Theo is playing professional hockey and Danica has won two Olympic gold medals and own a gymnastic center. Both are in Seattle,Washington but they are no longer together because Theo broke up with her because of the blackmailer/stalker. Their friends got tired of seeing them suffering so they worked to get the two together to work things out. Theo and Danica living in the same city does not make the stalker happy and they up their game on terrorizing them both. It kept this reader’s heart pounding and cinching her teeth. I enjoyed seeing how physically strong Danica became during those seven years and she made Theo gravel a lot. Believe me it very tense and scary there for a bit and the stalker/blackmailer is finally exposed. (I never guess it.) I truly loved this story. Another award winning story worth more than five stars.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25 Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Theo broke Danica’s heart seven years ago. He told her she was too immature and couldn’t handle his hockey life, in actuality he started receiving letters along with pictures of Danica in her everyday life, warning him to stay away from her or else…in present day, Danica has “gifts” left for her. It is because of this that Theo has kept his distance, to keep her safe.
The story shifts between the present and the past helping the reader understand what has happened over the years that Theo and Danica have been apart. Though he’s kept his distance, Theo has also kept tabs on Danica over the years. After the two are brought face to face again, they are forced into a situation they must work together, before another person is harmëd.
This is very much a slow burn of reconciliation. The first half of the book moves at a slower pace, there is a lot of information to cover over the seven years Theo and Danni were apart, but it’s interesting to see the way all of the information comes together. It’s quite a unique way to write the story. For only her second novel, M.George writes a well written story that keeps you engaged throughout.
You get more time with characters from book one, and you meet some new faces. The author writes these characters in a way that you feel what they feel, and you want to get to know them better. There were several moments in the book that elicited a “what the what?!” And the twist! I kind of thought I knew who was behind it all, but the reason?? That blew my mind! Be prepared to be shocked.
I really am so grateful to have been able to ARC both books in the Splintered Truths duet, and I thank M.George so much. She brought me a new book boyfriend and one of the worst (but best?🤔😬) villains I’ve ever read with this duet! I can’t wait to see what story we’ll get next. If that little sneak peak you gave us is any indication, it’s going to be a scorcher!
🏒 “For all the good girls who want to get rāil3d like the dirty little devils you are…Spread those pages wide, Diavoletta, your Hoodie Guy is waiting for you…” 🏒 “There’s nothing like some big d**k energy from one of your hot-as-f*** book boyfriends to help you relax.” 🏒 “For too long, I have stood on the sidelines, watched from the shadows. But now that she has been shoved in my face, I can’t let her go again. I f***ing won’t.” 🏒 “My girl, with ovaries of steel.” 🏒 “Look at you, such a good girl taking all of me in.” 🏒 “You taste that, my dirty girl? Taste how badly you want me. How good we are together.”

I am in awe! The characters, the plot, the tension, the suspense, & the way the plot all came together! Chef's kiss!
This is the second book in the Splintered Truths duet. I did read the first book before reading this one, but I don't think it's necessary. This book does an amazing job of giving insights to the previous book and how things came to be.
Danica has been through hell and back only for the love of her life, her protector & savior to break up with her when confronted with the truth of his past. The 6 years since then Danica was grown and matured so much. She's protected by so many of her loved ones including her "Ghost".
Theo has had a traumatic life, but that hasn't changed his protective nature, in fact it's grown with each incident occurred. Although Theo was forced to let Danica go due to his blackmailer, he never could truly let her go. For 6 years he's been watching her in the shadows whenever he could, while trying to find a way back to her. What he didn't know was that his Kitty Cat had another stalker that had the intention to hurt Danica.
This was amazing! The way Theo loved Danica enough to let her go, in order to protect her, but never stopped looking after her or looking for a way to get back to her! He is a natural born leader and I loved seeing the soft side of him that he only has for his friends and family. It was sad seeing Theo get punched😭
Danica is such a strong soul and incredibly smart! I was kinda shocked she didn't put 2 & 2 together to realize that Theo broke up in order to protect her. But even with her heartbreak she didn't let it keep her down (for long), she brought herself back up, with the help of her family and became a success Gold Metalist with a successful business! I don't like love triangles, but I'm happy she had Jay to help her get over her triggers and grow as an individual!
The author did an amazing job of leaving the tiniest of hints throughout out the plot. You literally have to use your intuition to guess who the stalker & blackmailer are! I'm looking forward to the next books in the series for this found family!
Happy release day M. George! Unbroken Promises is out TODAY and concludes Danica and Theo's story!! While this book can be read as a standalone, I HIGHLY recommend reading Splintered Truths before Unbroken Promises! Special thanks to M. George and Happily Booked PR for the eARC of this book.

Set seven years into the future after Splintered Truths (the first book in the duet), Theo is now the star defenseman for the Seattle Sabretooths and Danica is the owner of her own gymnastics gym, after winning a few gold medals in the Olympics. Torn apart by an enemy seven years ago that promises retribution for knowing Theo's crimes, this book is told in dual POV and dual timelines, showing the lead-up for Theo and Danica's break-up. But, Theo has always been in the shadows, watching Danica from afar, both with this own eyes and through his friends. When enemies start closing in on both of them, Theo is fed up and brings them back together. But, will this be possibly the dumbest thing that he's ever done?
Oh where to even begin with this review. I DEMOLISHED this duet in under 24 hours. It has everything that you could want in a darker romance. Unknown enemies, spice, romance, found family, an anti-hero, obsessive, possessive mmc. EVERYTHING. I loved seeing the growth of each of these characters throughout the seven year time jump. I think the arcs were done really well, with Danica finally starting to stand up for herself and take her life back from her father's grasp after Splintered Truths.
AND THE PLOT TWIST. OMG THE PLOT TWIST. I was 33% correct :'). The story definitely wrapped up well, but I am soooo excited to see what else M. has for this universe!!! She was telling me about alllll the other couples and I'm PUMPED with all the representation and stories to come!!!
Also, I was DM-ing with M. when I finished the book and she literally told me that she was over the slow burn and wanted them back together again haha. I think I wanted more groveling, but she held him off for long enough I suppose.
Firstly, I completely regret not re reading splintered truths before this because I want to re live the story all over again.
That cliffhanger that we were left on in the 1st … damn. Incase you haven’t read book 1 first, do. Book 2 essentially continues 7 years on from book 1.
7 years, since the turn of events that had Danica and Theo’s world shattering. I don’t know what I had expected from the beginning but it wasn’t that, what a way to kick off book 2! We have flashback in time, moments we had missed … a story that carried on after we finished reading.
I had thoughts and theories throughout this and unsurprisingly, I was wrong. So to a particular character who, shall not be named, avoiding spoilers. I’m so sorry I blamed you. I love you, again. You’re my fav.
Utterly adored how much Danica had flourished, she was so deserving of all that she had accomplished in the time we had missed. I know us readers had no doubt of that. Theo, just as scrummy and deliciously possessive, as before. I heavily disliked him at some points, one time in particular. I felt betrayed. No, you did not just upset my romantic little self like that Theo!! Nuh, uh. Apologise. Now. Take it back, refresh!
You’d understand if you have read this. A moment, a particular room .. my heart did a somersault. I thought, no way! When? Did she know? Did he know? Aw that’s so perfect!! However, the answer to my questions were made clear …
This is exactly how this duet makes you feel, you wish everything was sunshine and rainbows, whilst also squealing at the fact it’s dark and twisty. Love the ending, my heart is full again.
Quick. Someone get me a drink, I need one after this.
Check triggers, for both books!

Whew, what a read ya’ll!! I mean after that big cliffhanger at the end of book 1 Unsplintered Truths, It piqued my interest on how and which directed book 2 was going to go, and M. George did not disappoint at all! Book 2 will pick up 7 years after book 1.

With the story picks up 7 years after the events of Book 1. Theo did end up breaking up with Danica all because of the blackmailer, he was trying to keep her safe. But since they do live in the same city, he has still been keeping his eye on her (Stalking if I might say) as much as he could. Danica has been taking charge of her life ever since moving on past her heartbreak, which will also include some self-defense classes (w/added benefits of course) with Finn’s friend and work partner, Jonathan. Danica has also been dealing with a stalker (But not Theo) and now that Theo is trying to reinstate himself in her life, things are escalating pretty quickly..
This was a whole roller coaster ride just like book 1. Danica showed a lot of growth and was pretty badssa in this book.
Now Theodore Giovanni, now the star defenseman for the NHL’s Seattle Sabretooths, he is trying to keep his family’s dark secrets buried... But when his blood past resurfaces, it threatens everything he’s worked so hard to protect. Danica Ellis, she is no longer the helpless girl from their past, she has spent the last seven years becoming a formidable force, determined to never be controlled by anyone ever again.
If you have not read Book 1, definitely read it before diving into Book 2!!
This is book 2 in the Splintered Promises duet. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first, it felt underdeveloped.
This picks up 7 years later but we do get some flashbacks to the past. Danica and Theo are living separate lives with her having obtained Olympic Gold and Theo being a superstar in the NHL.
The beginning of the book went a little off the rails for me with us getting some on page ow/om scenes which served absolutely no purpose. I was waiting for some sort of explanation from Theo as to why he did what he did e.g. meaningless hookups, lonely, how and when he even managed to move on at first etc but it never came. There was just a scene with an ow for the sake of it. He was supposedly so madly in love with Danica but yet he managed to move on with ow no problem...! It cheapened their story a little. We at least got an explanation as to why Danica tried to move on but also she was the one left behind. Towards the end of the book we hear about how he has been obsessed with her for the last 7 years and stalked her etc! If he was so obsessed with her how did he find it so easy to sleep around........I like my men devoted and I just didn't feel like he was without the explanation of why he did it!
Theo breaks up with Danica to protect her but when they meet again it's suddenly like he doesn't care the danger that was there when they broke up is still there, he just jumps straight back into "shes mine and I want her back". To me I think there needed to be more hesitation for it to work!
We see Danica's growth a little in this book but it was much further on and underdeveloped for me also. They don't have the talk until almost the end of the book and I think it would have worked better sooner.
All in all this was a good duet but for me book 2 let it down from being a 4/5* read!

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐ Spice: 🌶️
"Unbroken Promises" by M. George is a gripping romance thriller that skillfully intertwines the worlds of professional sports and organized crime. The novel centers on Theodore Giovanni, a star defenseman for the NHL's Seattle Sabretooths, who has managed to keep his family's dark criminal past hidden from the public eye. However, as blackmail threats and a vengeful stalker emerge, Theo's carefully maintained facade begins to crumble.
The narrative intensifies when Danica Ellis, Theo's former love, reenters his life. Once a vulnerable girl, Danica has transformed into a strong, independent woman determined never to be controlled by love or fear again. Despite their painful history, the escalating danger forces Danica and Theo to confront their past and work together.
M. George expertly balances suspense and romance, creating a dynamic and fast-paced plot. The chemistry between Theo and Danica is palpable, and their journey from estranged lovers to united allies adds emotional depth to the story. The external threats from blackmailers and stalkers are well-crafted, keeping readers on edge as the characters navigate the treacherous terrain of their intertwined lives.
"Unbroken Promises" is a compelling tale of love, resilience, and redemption. M. George's vivid characters and intricate plot make this book a thrilling read, perfect for fans of romance and suspense.
Unbroken promises is the second book of the Splintered Promises duet and it did not disappoint!
The story picks up 7 years after the event of book 1. Theo ended up breaking up with Danica because of the blackmailer, but since they live in the same city, he's still keeping an eye on her (aka stalking her) as much as he can. As for Danica, she has been taking charge of her life ever since moving past her heartbreak, which includes self-defense classes (with benefits) with Finn's friend and work partner, Jonathan. We learn though that she has been dealing with a stalker (not Theo 😉) and now that Theo is trying to reinstate himself in her life, things are escalating.
This book was a ride, just like book 1. I really enjoyed Danica the best in this story, she showed a lot of growth and was pretty badass. I was slightly disappointed at Theo, like why didn't he confess early on the reason why he broke up with Danica? I live for the slow burn but he could have told her earlier, at least for her to be aware.
I know it's Theo and Danica's story but I wish we would have seen more of the boys, I missed them. Also, I felt like Finn was acting sketchy, I was almost scared M. George would destroy me by making him a villain but I'm happy to report that he's not 😂
I liked the addition of Jonathan, it was nice for Danica to have an additional significant person to rely on, especially with her brother and other friends living away.
It was a pretty solid conclusion with several twists that you may or may not see coming. This duet introduced me to the work of M. George and I am looking forward to reading more from her.
✨ I received this book as an ARC for my honest review✨

That is no joke when I tell you this author kills it in the game! I'm serious when I say this author really nails it! I absolutely adored her first book, and seeing the character development in the second book made me love it even more! Not only was the growth of Theo and Danica spot-on, but the plot twist, the suspense, the tension, and the storyline were perfect. I recommend reading the book in the series to fully understand the plot and storyline.
Danica, our little sparrow, grew up and became a hawk. She is no longer weak and unable to protect herself. We saw that firsthand when she introduced the floor to Theo more than once. While I was upset with how Theo ended things between them, I understood that Theo and Danica needed time to grow and chase their dreams without holding each other back. Both have had a traumatic life and have endured what no one should growing up.
While Theo is a protector in nature, there is only so much he can do. And while we did not get a lot of growth from Theo, we got it from Danica when she finally understood why Theo broke up with her. However, just because he left doesn't mean that he was not fully aware of everything that was going on in her life. Expect one minor detail, but I will leave that for you to discover. I love that they finally got their happy ending. When you realize everything Thoe did for Danica, it will turn you into a puddle. Theo made me fall in love with him all over again!
While I ate this book up and left no crumbs, I will say the time jump made it hard to recognize if the chapter is from the past or present. However, the more I read, the easier it was to tell the difference. I think the time jumps were needed to fully understand their story better. I will state that I solved the mystery early on and was so proud of myself! I'm eagerly waiting to see what the next story brings for our band of misfits.
Just finished Unbroken Promises by M. George, and it's a rollercoaster of emotions and suspense! This second book in the Splintered Promises Duet is a dark romance that delves even deeper into the dangerous world of mafia intrigue.
Theodore Giovanni, now a star defenseman for the NHL's Seattle Sabretooths, is trying to keep his family's dark secrets buried. But when his bloody past resurfaces, it threatens everything he's worked so hard to protect. Danica Ellis, no longer the helpless girl from their past, has spent the last seven years becoming a formidable force, determined never to be controlled by anyone again.
Their paths collide once more as blackmail and a vengeful stalker force them to confront their shared history. The chemistry between Theo and Danica is electric, and their journey together is fraught with tension, danger, and raw emotion. As they fight to survive the threats lurking in the shadows, old wounds are reopened and sinister truths come to light.
M. George masterfully combines romance and suspense, creating a gripping narrative that keeps you on the edge of your seat. If you loved Splintered Truths, Unbroken Promises is a must-read that will leave you breathless and eager for more.
Highly recommend for fans of dark romance and mafia drama! #BookReview #DarkRomance #MustRead #UnbrokenPromises #MGeorge #SplinteredPromisesDuet #HockeyRomance #MafiaRomance
Theo Giovanni is star defenseman for the Seattle Sabretooths hockey team. He's also the heir of the Giovanni crime family, but he's managed to keep that part of himself a secret. Seven years ago, he left the woman he loved in order to keep her safe. Danica Ellis is no longer the broken, helpless girl that Theo left behind all those years ago. When Theo's blackmail threats continue and Danica's stalker threats get worse, they are thrown together for the first time in years and need to figure out who is causing this upheaval in their lives. Can they work together to find the culprit, or are their past wounds too hard to face?
After the doozy of the cliffhanger book one of this duet left off on, I was so excited to finally get book two. This book picked up right where book one left off. Though this book is set seven years in the future, it does have chapters that venture back into the past. These give us the main highlights of what happened the seven years in between and how Danica and Theo ended up where they are now. In this book, we see a whole new Danica. In book one, she was such a broken defeated girl who needed saving. Now, she's a grown woman who's become independent and strong. Theo, as always, does everything with Danica in mind. Everything to make sure she's safe even after breaking her heart. The suspense and mystery of this book was insane. It's good in the beginning, but it really amps up in the end. It's such a great conclusion to book one!
Unbroken Promises is book two in the Splintered Promises Duet. Picking up seven years after book one left off, Theo is now a star hockey player with the Seattle Sabertooths and the heir to the Giovanni Organized Crime Family. He’s avoided contact with Danica to try and protect her from everything, but she’s no longer the helpless girl she once was. she has been forced to face the monsters lurking in the shadows and when a blackmail threat arises she isn’t ready to back down. Thrown back together again with the threat hanging over their heads, Theo and Danica are forced to face their past.
I enjoyed the first book in this duet and this one lived up to expectations. I am a fan of sports romances, but I am not a huge dark romances. Even though it’s not my typical genre of choice, I think this series was very well done and the writing was easy to get lost in. Since this book jumped way ahead from the cliffhanger ending in the last book, it had a lot of ground to make up and each chapter was set in a different time. At first this jumping back and forth from present to memories threw me for a loop, but overall I do like how this story was laid out and told. I enjoyed this book and the duet and look forward to seeing what comes for other characters in this series. If you are a fan of dark romances, I think this would be an enjoyable duet for you.

After reading Splintered Truths earlier this year, I had been waiting for this one to come out considering how the first one ended! AND- Once again M. George did not disappoint with this story! Danica and Theo 7 years later were just as hot as ever! This pair seriously has some chemistry and the pull between is undeniable! The story was written in a masterful way that was entertaining and the flow of timeline kept you engaged as the story bounced between the past and the present which gave even more of a glimpse into what transpired after the first one!
That balance beam scene OMG! Also Theo’s gentle coaching and praise when they are together after danica’s abusive ex(storyline from book 1) was everything! Somehow Theo was both soft and extremely sexy at the same time! THIS FREAKING MAN! He is so obsessed with his girl-it’s unreal! There was some seriously good spice in this duet and it legit had me fanning myself! 🥵🥵 DO YOURSELF A FAVOR GIVE THIS DUET A READ IF YOU LIKE DARK SPORTS ROMANCE!
This is book is the second in a duet. It CANNOT be read as a standalone! Though I will implore you to give them a shot! Lots of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

❗️There are a bunch of dark themes and triggers in the book so be sure to check those TWs and put your mental health first❗️
I had been itching for the conclusion of Danica and Theo’s story, and I wasn’t disappointed in the least! We got to see some new stuff from their past as well and I really enjoyed getting that insight.
The twists and turns of this book really held my attention the whole time. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I was proven wrong and I loved that I was kept guessing up until the end.
The chemistry between our MCs has been so tangible from the beginning. I really enjoyed finally getting a conclusion to their issues! I just love both of them so so much!
If any of those tropes up there spark your interest, be sure to check out book 1 Splintered Truths, followed by Unbroken Promises! You won’t be disappointed!

It’s been seven years. Seven years since Danica had her heart broken by her Hoodie Guy. Seven years that Theo has been her Hoodie Ghost. Always there, watching, while remaining unseen. Seven years since they’ve experienced the love and passion that only exists between soulmates. Will it still exist? Have feelings diminished in that time, or does their flame prove to be eternal?

I LOVED this SO much!!! The cliffhanger book 1 left us on was insane so I expected so much from this book and M. George DELIVERED!!!! I was SHOCKED at the twist and never saw it coming! Danica and Theo’s characters are incredible and I’m so happy they got their HEA! I cannot wait to see what she has in store in the future!
Thank you M. George and Happily Booked PR for this ARC! My review is mine and freely given!
This story kept me on my toes from beginning to end. I didn't know what to expect or who to trust. The author had me literally doubting and second-guessing everyone, even the most improbable person.
This book is the continuation and aftermath of the events from Splintered Truths, and even though M. George gave us one hell of a time jump, there were constant flashbacks of events that filled in the blanks. Now, I know that flashbacks are not everyone's cup of tea, but I personally love the back and forth between timelines and having to connect the dots.
I really enjoyed seeing Danni's growth and how no matter what, Theo was always there one way or another (the closet! 😍). Nonetheless, I feel like the traitor got off too easy, and there were some issues that weren't really addressed, like what happened to the famiglia. And I know this wasn't their story, but I'm a side character girly, and I would've loved to learn more about the guys, hopefully in future stories.

M. George did it again, such an amazing story, I love that we got Danica and Theo for the second story, this book picked up right where the first left off and it was perfect! This one is considered: 🖤 Mafia Romance 🖤 Hockey Romance 🖤 Morally Grey 🖤 Stalker 🖤 Obsessed MMC The mafia aspect did pretty well, I feel like it could have had a little more and been a little darker but that may just be personal preference. Theo did amazing for the roles he played within that part. The Hockey romance was just 💋🤌🏽🔥 perfection, Theo “Slick” Giovanni has my heart! Danica is such a gorgeous character inside and out, she is an Olympic gold medalist but also a devoted godmother and teacher/therapist. Those grey areas in the story had me in a chokehold! I’m definitely a dark girly and so those along with the stalker/ obsession aspects had me giggling and kicking my feet! I know, I know, I’m a little unhinged and I won’t apologize for it. 🤷🏽♀️😈 Though I do love the dark aspects and this does end in a HEA, I feel like we could have gotten a little more from the ending than what we got therefore it’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 from me, still so good though and I’ll definitely reread it 💕
THIS IS THE SECOND BOOK IN A DUET. IT CANNOT BE READ ALONE.
After what felt like 7 years (I am not a patience person, and the cliffhanger from book 1 almost k!lled me😮💨) we finally have book 2!!! I was really looking forward to seeing how the author would continue the story and see where the main characters Danica and Theo would go 7 years later!
Now, I am a reader who doesn't like to wait for my spice. Slow burn has never really been my cup of tea, but let me tell you the wait was worth it!! Holy Hannah, Theo is one spicy man🥵
I love that finally we get to see both Danica and Theo in their prime doing what they always wanted to do, and finally being successful. The way the author was able to portray their growth and them maturing into adults was phenomenal. I was absolutely hooked from the start and it was one heck of a ride! I am really sad to let these characters go because I love them both so much! Unbroken Promises is an absolute awesome book, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what life looks like for the other characters in this book!
What an ending! This book had me at the edge of my seat, holy smokes!!! Let me just say that this is one of my most anticipated reads of 2024, i just couldn’t stop thinking about book 1!!
I just knew we’d get a huge character development case here with Danica i was really really happy to see the badass side of her and how well she coped with her past!
Theo, my man, Theo🖤 this guy though?! Totally understandable reaction in the beginning of this book to what happened in the end of book 1 but knowing he was there in the shadows the whole 7 years and that extended epilogue?!?!??!????? Im freaking dying i just loved that scene in the “panic” room🖤🖤🖤
What to expect: Dark sports romance/mafia romance Hockey pro x pro gymnast Trauma & heartbreak Overcoming hardships Second chance romance Plot & mystery Found family
I say this with all my heart, this is one of the best dark sports romance duets i’ve read! 🖤🖤🖤
This is the second book in the Splintered Promises Duet and cannot be read as a standalone.
I enjoyed that this book was done with a dual timeline - the narrative went between right after the splintered promises book and the current timeline. Both MCs had so much to work through and there was groveling!
Pick up this read if you enjoy: * Dark sports romance * Second chance romance * Multiple twists and turns * Found family
Overall rating: 4/5 The reason this is a 4 and not a 5 is entirely for personal reasons -
**Be aware that this book has many dark themes and trigger warnings. Be sure to put your mental health first.**
The second book in this hockey mafia romance duet blew me away! Danica and Theo have such on-page chemistry, I can't believe they held out for as long as they did! This story takes place seven years after book one, but the story here is told through flashbacks to various points in the previous seven years, making sure readers don't miss any of the details that bring us up to speed with the present day timeline. Danica went from victim to powerhouse, and I loved watching her take down men twice her size, especially Theo. Her self-defense skills are superb. Our girl is kicking butt and taking names, and I couldn't be more proud. Theo, our tortured hero, did a full 180° from ghost in the shadows to hands-on protector. I love that he never gave up on Danica or their relationship despite the obstacles. Both books in this duet were superb, and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for an edge of your seat romance with tension and spice for the ages.
Look, I'm not a slow burn gal. I like my smut early, but this was worth the wait.
This book is better than Splintered Promises. I was a little upset at first learning that there is a 7 year gap between the books (I even let our girl know about it), but it was so needed! Both main characters needed the time to grow into themselves and work through some issues (Danica especially).
After what Danica went through, she grew into the bad B!tch we all knew she could be. She was so beat down, and she decided to take control of her life and not let the b@stards get her down.
Theo's epilogue is chef's kiss. I was full of lovey dovey vibes after that. He made mistakes, but I still love him. I can't really tell you much else about him, or I'll end up telling you EVERYTHING!
Unbroken Promises will be available on June 11, 2024, on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited
This book is one of the better I’ve seen when it comes to character development, trials, and, of course, spice.
I was obsessed with Danica is the first book, however seeing her growth after 7 years is empowering to any women who has gone through traumatic events due to a man. Not to mention you’ve got an alpha male, Theo, ready to burn the world down for his girl.
Unbroken promises is written as a standalone to but truly grasp the fulls story I definitely recommend reading the first book of the series, splintered truths.
I did enjoy this book, however there is a lot of spice (sometimes unnecessarily) so I found my self loosing interest overtime. Chapter long spice scenes are great as long as they aren’t continuously happening.
Either way, this is a great start to what seems like will be a great series and I’m very excited for the next story!
