Oy vey! Shit just got serious in Chicago. The Witches Union has discovered that Leigh Epstein has been dabbling in the dark arts, and now they want to become creative editors for Leigh’s paranormal romance, “Four-Bitten Fangtasy”, a book about a shape shifting-werewolf-vampire hybrid named Vlad. They definitely have something up their sleeves and they've assigned our young apprentice witch to a mentor named Gertie, who isn't quite up to snuff. Can she fulfill the contract and get FBF done before the deadline? What’s in it for the Union anyway?
To make matters worse, Leigh’s friends and family are still reeling from their last disastrous episode in Accidental Leigh. Will she make her Sister Sarah's lackluster love life even worse, by attempting to fulfill her erotic fantasy from her favorite BDSM/Navy SEAL/Amnesia novel? And yes, it is titled “Bound to Forget”.
Love is in the air, but so is catastrophe, now that Leigh is also getting some very strong feelings for Hunter, the hunky roofer turned Chicago Police Academy cadet.
Find out almost everything, and even learn about a Paranormal Pet Shop, what really sank the Titanic, magic brownies, how the Great Chicago Fire really started, and more in Serious Leigh, Book 2 of the Literal Leigh Romance Diaries by Melanie James

Absolutely hysterical!!!! This installment of the Literal Leigh Romance Diaries, will have you rolling on the floor laughing until you are crying and your sides hurt. From the moment she arrives at the Witches Union, Leigh's life will never be the same. She is given a list of rules, which includes a side note that the Union board member will act as creative editors on the book in progress. She is also assigned a mentor, Gertie. While Gertie has been around for quite some time, she is still learning the ways of the modern world. After the first lesson from Gertie, Leigh finds herself and her cat, Luna on an unexpected adventure in Denver. Once she gets back home the adventure continues as Leigh tries to help her friend handle their stalker problem. While Gertie, has a night out the the girls and has a little fun of her own. Leigh and Hunter try a night out on the town. Will Leigh ever get a chance to have a normal date with Hunter or will her magic get in the way of romance once again?
I also really enjoyed the fact that this book does not leave you hanging on the edge of a cliff at the end.

I have been waiting on this book since I finished Accidental Leigh. Melanie James is amazing at what she writes... This book had me laughing out loud until I was crying... The stuff that Leigh writes for her family and friends always seems to backfire in one way or another.. If you enjoy some romance and a good laugh this is the series for you. Hunter puts up with a lot of mischief.... Yes read them in order... Cannot wait to see what Melanie James is Brewing up for Hopeful Leigh... Happy Readings everyone...

I just loved this book. I finished it in one night again just like the first one. While I loved the first book, this one was even better, and more funny. Especially when you bring in another crazy witch. The way all the girls just cling to her, and attempt to show her the ropes is the best. I could not quit laughing at all the craziness she can get into without even trying really hard. I can't wait for the next one. Great job Melanie James:)

As Leigh tries to reign in her magic with the help of a new witch friend, Gertie, the laughs are a plenty in book two of this light-hearted and fun series. I found myself giggling out loud at what Leigh got herself (and her friends) into, with each situation crazier and more hysterical than the last. Gertie adds quite a comical bonus with her lack of current societal appropriateness, and her descriptions of her plantation are priceless. Just an all-around hilarious adventure of a new witch, that you can’t help but want to know what happens next!

Listened on audio: Hollie Jackson did another great performance bringing these characters to life, and I really enjoyed her Irish accent for Gertie.

I should love this series. But I don’t. The writing seems very immature and the narrator does a whiny voice every now and then that is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I’m super bummed I didn’t like these books enough to care what happens next.

REVIEW

This is the 2nd book in the series and oh my goodness talk about gut busting laughs. This book was even more comical then the first.

Things pickup where we were left hanging in book 1.

Leigh has been transported to the Witches Union and she is given the news that she has broken rules and that the 3 leaders are going to take a part in her book writing. She is also given a trainer by the name of Gertie.
Leigh learns her specialty seems to be the writing magic and she has to pay dues to the witches union.

Leigh finds herself in Denver and oh boy can things get any weirder? I think so keep reading lol.

Leigh has her hands full with trying to figure out how to remove the magic from the 2 college men who are totally enthralled with her 2 girlfriends Kelly and Lindsey.

But instead of following the Witches Union rules she was given she decides to take matters into her own hands. She sits down to write and hopefully fix everyone she cares about issues.

Leigh and Hunter’s relationship is slow to grow but I really enjoy reading all their mishaps from the Zoo to their first date out for dinner. And the Zoo issue is caused by well lets say they know both of the men.

Then the comical begins. Poor Gertie is drunk of all things .. and interrupts a passionate moment between Hunter and Leigh.
And oh no a paranormal pet shop what has Gertie done while she was drunk?
And just what is Esmeralda up to?

Well you will have to go grab a copy and find out..

This book is well written and kept me laughing through the entire thing. I can not wait for the next book in the series.

I don't usually say this about a second installment, but it's even better than the first one! There seems to be no end to the completely unexpected results of Leigh's magical writing power.....I laughed my way through this installment and mostly right out loud. I especially loved the three wick candles worth of wax ( ork ork)
It would seem that there is safety in numbers as far as keeping Leighs spells straight, as when she had Gerty, Esmeralda, Vlad and Marie Laveau all playing their part as they put an end to the Council's plan for total dominance.
Everybody is happy, Hunter is Leigh's dream come true and Kelly, Lindsey and even Gertie have men in their lives.
This is such a lighthearted, enjoyable read , especially since I know the fun and laughter isn't over! They all have the Halloween Gala in Salem to attend in the next installment. I for one can't wait to see what misadventure awaits this motley crew, I wonder what costumes they will wear! LOL!
If you haven't started this amazingly funny and sweetly romantic series, Here's your chance to catch up on all the mad cap adventure that is our Lovable Leigh.

These books are too silly to be taken seriously even a little bit. That being said it doesn't mean I don't like them. There is a time in place for frivolous, ridiculous comedy and this book provides it. I can't say there aren't times that I don't roll my eyes or groan out loud, but again there's a time when cheesy is fine. The only thing that keeps me from giving this series a 4 rating is the rushed ending. Well, really it all seems rushed at times. The story nor the characters are really fleshed out. It's kind of like reading in fast forward if you can imagine that. You are catching the gist of it but losing a little in translation. Because of the silly nature though I think I prefer this fast forward style. If it were slowed down and drawn out I would be annoyed at putting in a lot of time to read frivolity.

Leigh has been summoned by the witches union and boy is she in trouble. It seems that they have learned of her rare talent and they want to exploit her big time. They assign her a witch trainer that is just side of sane and off they go to wreak havoc on the world. Picture the Lucy and Ethel of the witch world. Gertie, the trainer, is quite entertaining. I enjoyed her a lot!

I listened to this on audiobook.

I have to say that I prefer book 1 to this 2nd book to the ongoing series. There was just way too much going on and a hell of a lot of OTT, more so than was in the first book. But with that said there were plenty of funny moments and you get to see the main character of Leigh develop more into her new witchy status and there’s plenty more happenings with Luna the cat.

Is this turning into a good series, well I perhaps wouldn’t go so far as to say yes, certainly not yet anyhow, but it is fun easy listening with plenty of silliness happening throughout.

I haven’t decided if I’m going to continue with book 3 or not, might give it a little break and then come back to it shortly.

I will just make a little reference to the narrator of this series, being Hollie, she is great, she really does have a flare for some of the characters. Very nicely done.

So much fun! The antics ramp up in this second book, and the reader better hold on for the ride. Fun characters and a story line unlike others I've read, this is a great light read with just a bit of heat in the bedroom (no detailed or lengthy scenes). I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this second book. Don't worry, you don't have to read the books in order, but I personally think it's more fun that way. You get to know the characters as they develop. I highly recommend this book!

So looking forward to the rest of the series and seeing what this group of friends are up to next. With a witch who's writings seem to come true what could happen next.

Leigh and her friends are having another adventure. Now she is adding Gertie to her list of friends. Gertie is a bit unusual and a bit sheltered. She will have to teach Leigh things about being a witch, but Leigh needs to teach her about modern day life and language. A fun story.

I laughed at this light, romcom of witches, magic and mayhem. Leigh is a new witch with extraordinary magic that tends to have unplanned funny outcomes. This book is a much needed form of stress relief

Seriously funny!

Leigh still hasn't gotten a good grasp of her magic. Catastrophe still happens. Her intentions are good though. Anyone that likes steamy hilarious fun should read this book.

Book two of the Literal Leigh Romance Diaries had our FMC meet her "mentor" and join the Union of Witches. Then, there are more funny problems with accidental spell casting. I laughed out loud several times in this one, and some of the reasons were some terms for body parts that I'd never heard before.

It's a fun series with just a tiny bit of spice, but plenty of laughs.

Omg. Leigh is hilarious. She’s so kind hearted and always wants to help everybody but she ends up putting her foot in her mouth. I’m diving into book 3 now. I love the narration.
