HE WAS BORN TO DEVOUR SOULS
HE WAS RAISED TO KILL A GOD

Three centuries after the rise of the Autarch, the world is a prison of ash and silence.
Marak—once mortal, now something far worse—rules an empire of fear with immortal hands.

But in the shadows of the Withered Isles, a weapon has been forged in secret.

Aurion Asar is a necromancer, bred and shaped by a hidden cabal of death mages to become a soul-eater—a living vessel for the powers of the dead. His purpose? To bring the Autarch’s reign to an end… or die trying.

But the path to godslayer is paved with corpses—and choice.

Haunted by power he barely understands, and joined by Justinia—a gleefully unhinged assassin with a long, bloody past—and Stumbles, his loyal (and somewhat rotten) undead cat, Aurion must
How much of himself is he willing to lose to destroy the god who rules the world?

Because in this empire, even destiny has a price.

SET IN THE SAME WORLD AS DARK ASCENSION and featuring a weak-to-strong protagonist, progression fantasy elements, unique magic, and constant action. Perfect for fans of Mother of Learning, The Sword of Kaigen, Cradle, and He Who Fights Monsters!

In this expansion of Dark Ascension we get basically Batman Beyond or Spiderman 2099.

That is all the undead gory delight you’ve come to expect just set 300 years later.

It’s a pretty cool addition to the mythos. Jumping ahead to see the world Marak has helped shape. One with as many dangers and battles of conscience the original series provided.

And all the dark choices and paths one takes for the greater good.

A progression fantasy with horror vibes. A soul devouring journey full of noble intent. And as a bonus for magic academy fans, the most vicious of schools you can attend. 😉

Dark and twisted fun.

Amazing expansion of the Mythos

Set 300 years after the first series, we are introduced to a young but powerful necromancer who has been trained his whole life to kill Marak.

But in this world, things are never as simple as they seem.

Loved the new character and his parallel rise to power. Alexander Layne continues to hide surprises every few pages.

My one complaint is the Kindle edition editing, there are several misspellings and incorrect homonyms.

Can't wait for the next installment in both series.
