Spicy novella ft obsessive football coach & the school’s goth rebel 🎓🏈

This was classic Alexa Riley! Great pace for a short forbidden love romance with a spicy Daddy/llg dynamic. Coach Shay definitely came on strong and I’m not entirely sure how he became a stalker too but fine by me. The smut was smutttting 🌶️

I don’t think the teacher/student dynamic is necessarily for me. Combined with a big age gap it’s sometimes too much of a power imbalance. Wow not me doing a literary analysis on clit-erature!

Well kids, I hate to say it, but this book was a dud. It felt like a cheap knock off of the original Coach book written by these authors.
First off calling this a book kind of rubs me the wrong way cause it’s so short I personally would call it a novella.
The first 50% of the book is basically just a surly and brash high school girl being a high school mascot and a very lame high school coach being a creeper.
Nothing in this book isn’t something you’ve already read 1000 times before. Even him coming into her room at night is the same thing that already happened in the original coach book.
I hate to say it because I do or did really love these authors but lately it’s been more miss than hit with them.
I feel like they’ve chosen to produce quantity over quality as writers lately. And that’s sad because they are extremely talented. But it seems like they made no effort whatsoever with this book. The MMC wasn’t hot at all. He kind of gave me the ick. And the FMC, there was nothing special about her either she was a dime a dozen.
There’s not much else I could really say about the book. It was extremely short. It was very predictable. It was boring and extremely unoriginal.
I’m really hoping that Alexa Riley really starts thinking more about the quality over quantity.

(DNF) At first, the dynamic between the MCs was refreshing in a way because it was different, but it quickly became confusing and it just didn't land well. The Hero was hard to read and the heroine got on my nerves. The romance and the chemistry were nonexistent to me. Just because the characters are technically falling in love (or even just lust) on page doesn't mean that I'm seeing it. You need to do more showing and really bring the reader into the story, even if it's a short novella like this.

My biggest problem with this story was that the Daddy kink felt more like they were taking part in a trend rather than embracing a specific relationship dynamic that should be treated with more care. The heroine called him Daddy to be a brat and just kept doing it. She made it empty and meaningless.

I don't recommend this one.

Did not enjoy this as much as I would expect to enjoy a dependable and familiar AR Novella. Do you get your "smut filled-forbidden-obs/pos Alpha H and naive and sweet h" boxes checked? YES! But lately, I have been left feeling wanting more from AR Novellas. They are so talented, I dunno why they just limit themselves to just the formulaic things where the quality is kinda going downhill a bit. Also the H is not as OTT as I would like and where is the epilogue with babies?!
