She writes women’s fiction, time travel romance, contemporary romance, family sagas, paranormal romance, and thrillers. Readers say her books (well not the thrillers, those are gritty) are light-hearted reads to escape reality. She lives in the mountains of North Carolina, has always been a reader, and is overly fond of sparkly flip flops and pretty pens. This is a short prequel to book one in the Shadow Walker series. I haven't read them and I'm not sure if I would've liked it more if I'd know the whole story or not. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It definitely makes me want to know more about these characters. It's a story of two seriously sexy gods! They also happen to be brothers that hate each other.
Lots of different events happen in these 62 pages! Fun, sexy and mysterious things... I loved both brothers. They were written beautifully. I can't wait to go start book one!
I haven't read this series yet but when I read Born in Shadow I got the gist of it. I'd definitely be picking up this series.
This novella, more a prequel explained the beginning of this series and the reason for why this two brothers are at war with each other.
I really like the twist in the legend wherein it was romanticized but there was definitely more to the legend than what it says. Although I can't fault Thorne for the decisions he made despite it being the reason that put him in that situation. I felt for him when I learned about the true story and just couldn't believe something like that. I also thought that his brother was lying to him and apparently not. Let's skip to the ending since I don't want to spoil what happened afterwards. I'm happy that he finally forgave himself and in doing so he too was forgiven. That was just the touch needed in this ending.
Although I wish that he would be able to truly love when the time comes.

This standalone tale gives the origin of Day walkers and Shadow walkers. Thorne and Dayne both gods in their own right. Thorne discovers the mysteries of love along with the pain that follows. Luna is the object of Thorne's love but is saddened by news regarding Luna's engagement. Dayne takes matters into his own hand. Meanwhile Thorne curses his love. Thorne realizes his mistake too late. Their mother punishes them. How long will their punishment last? Will either of them realize the truth? Your answers await you in Born in Shadow.
This unique story gives a better understanding into the Shadow walkers World. I can definitely see that Thorne has remorse. Whereas Dayne is filled with hate and loathing. This insight is powerful as day and night. I'm definitely looking forward to reading next book in the series.

This book explained so many unanswered questions that I had concerning the origins of the war between the Shadow Walkers and the bitterness between Thorne and Dayne and the reasons each took the path that they did. This is a wonderful story and I would recommend that it be read before you start the series but it isn't necessary as the series is great without reading this. I loved this book!! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!!

'Born in Shadow' was a good quick read. The story entailed the reasoning and answers behind some of the questions I had from the other books in this series. I liked the way this story was written. I love the descriptive nature of Cynthia Luhrs books. The characters and the events that ensued were great. This book is a great add to your tbr list, especially if you are following the series.
This was a great book! I was enchanted to find out how the Shadow and Day Walkers started. Can't wait for the next in series, which is reportedly the last one.
Thorne's story is so tragic. Infatuation not given a chance to run it's course. Thousands of years being angry, asking for forgiveness, only to realize he had to forgive himself. I really felt for him, so glad he is the one in charge of the shadow walkers.
Book Title: Born in Shadow (Shadow Walkers #3.5) Book Authors: Cynthia Luhrs Source: Kindle Unlimited Rating: 5 stars
It’s all about Thorne and his memories of Luna and how present came to be. It's a fast read, filled with lots of emotions of a fifteen year old god and how he finally accepted himself as himself more than two thousand years later after Luna and Solus.
We learned the real truth behind the sun and the moon and how Thorne decided to let humans believe the romanticized version of events. If I understood correctly, he finally forgave himself and found remorse unlike his brother. Wonder what happens next.
I would recommend this to eighteen and over. Prepare to feel lonely.
