'Alex is one of a small handful of people that I can say without his work, our community would not have connected more than 2 billion people around the world.' Mark Zuckerberg, CEO - Meta
'Few people understand marketing and growth better than Alex.' Daniel Ek, CEO - Spotify
I honestly don't know where to rank this book. After a week, here are some of my thoughts:
🙏 Shultz is clearly a very clever man who certainly does know what he's talking about 🙌 For people just getting into the world of marketing, I reckon this would be super helpful 🤝 Are there good takeaways and lessons from the book? Yeah, I would say so
However, I did really struggle to get into the writing sometimes. It didn't feel too personal to me. It felt like I carried on reading because I felt like I wanted to see what other points were made, not necessarily because I was hooked on the flow/style.
I'd definitely be interested in reading more of his work and seeing how his writing develops between them all.
A very solid read - I'd probably give this between 3.5 and 4 stars.
I got this book for his titles. Full of notes. Amateurish. Also blind mention of some classics in the field (list below)
1. Scientific Advertising 2. Reality in Advertising 3. Ogilvy on Advertising 4. How Brands Grow 5. Scoring Points: How Tesco Continues to Win Customer Loyalty
Ergens hoopte ik toch op een. Soort golden egg. Die is er ook maar niet zo sexy als je zou denken. Systematisch aan de slag, transparant qua kpis en vooral goed kijken hoe en wat qua effecten.
