Elite 8 Studios #3

Tink: Elite 8 Studios, Book 3

Rate this book
Have you heard the tale of Goldie and the Two Bears?

Alex

Working in the adult entertainment industry has its challenges. Mainly, scoring a date that lasts longer than a night. I’d started to wonder if my own happily-ever-after wasn’t in the cards.

But then a hookup turned meet-cute lands me right on top of Rowan, the shy, submissive bear of my dreams with a serious weak spot for sweetly spoken words. He doesn’t see Tink, the performer. He sees me.

Yet before I can lick my territory, Rowan’s neighbor Finn walks in. Quite literally. And the tatted, pierced, ginger-haired papa bear has his sights set on my new crush. Even worse, Rowan returns his interest. I assume that’s game over, so imagine my shock when Finn suggests a less-than-traditional arrangement in which we all win.

They say you should never run from bears. So really, what’s a boy to do when faced with his ultimate fantasy?

After all, maybe happily-ever-after is meant for more than two.

Tink is a poly MMM romance between one golden-haired troublemaker and two very delicious bears of the human variety. There’s praise, furry chests and unexpected piercings, an extensive collection of orchids, tight white pants, coworkers who are like family, and one very HEA. It’s book 3 in the Elite 8 Studios series but can be listened to as a standalone.

alright, this is hard.
i honestly loved the beginning. i loved how the author introduced the characters, their interactions were hilarious and super interesting, and i was actually invested in their story and their lives in general.

minor spoilers ahead

i can’t help but feel like rowan is the actual main character. it should be tink, i mean, it’s literally the title, but i feel like rowan was at the center of everything.
that made me enjoy it less.

i also didn’t really like the start of the polycule. i guess it’s not my thing and that’s a shame because if this started as a throuple right away i would’ve loved this.

after they became a throuple i liked the relationship more but without the tension i was getting a tiny bit bored. it’s a long book and i’m not sure all of it is necessary to the story.
there is, as you can imagine, a lot of sex, and damn, it’s always welcome, but at times it felt more like instructions on how to have sex rather than smut. you know, it’s good that the author doesn’t think that you can shove whatever up your ass without prep, but we probably didn’t need all of that.

all in all, it’s a good book, even with those issues, and i will definitely reread it in the future.
i can’t wait for the next one.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Format: ebook

"Now everyone knows how a fairy tale ends. With the big ol' gay happily ever after.
But this one, you see, is a little bit different. Because this is just the end of their chapter."

This story was everything. All the characters, the plot, the romance, the polycule to triad, the spice… everything. I was a goner for Alex, Rowan and Finnegan from the very start.

Alex is exactly my favorite kind of character. I’m a sucker for sassy twinks. And then our Goldieboi found two bears who are as obsessed with him as I was. I really like how it started out as a relationship just between Alex and Rowan, and Rowan and Finn, and we got to see feelings form between Alex and Finn. The buildup was amazing.

The spice in this book was on another level, including full scenes of fisting and DP. Like, yes, please and fucking thank you. I just love that Alex was so adventurous and his boys never judged, and gave Manuel hell when he tried to come after our Tink. Not on their watch.

Also I think this is the first sex worker story I’ve read (where the other mmc is not also a sex worker) where the love interests were both totally fine with Alex staying at his job. And that he made a relationship work around it with no jealousy or pressure to quit. When Alex finally left, it was because he was ready for a new chapter of his life and had a different career goal in mind. Just so much support and unconditional love between all of the characters.

I also love that Alex and Finn helped Rowan out with his insecurities due to his verbally abusive ex-boyfriend. They made it a habit of telling him how wonderful and beautiful he was, and how happy they were to have him in his life, until he finally started to believe it.

I really just enjoyed everything. This was very low-angst (pretty much none) with just lots of sweet moments and giggles in between. I don’t have a bad word to say about it. Except, fuck you, Manuel. I am so excited for Cas’s book next!

Many many years ago I read Treue ist auch keine Lösung: Ein Plädoyer für mehr Freiheit in der Liebe (German, non-fiction), which, considering the content, I would loosely translate to “monogamy isn’t the solution either”. It is an interesting read for sure, a discussion about love and relationships that gives you a lot to think about the concept of monogamy in our society as well as other (underrepresented) alternatives even tho you’d might never really consider them for yourself. And what Finn, one of the three main characters here said/argued, reminded me a lot of this book and I very much agreed.

Anyways, back to this book… I loved these characters. The story was sweet, heartwarming and hot. But I was also super bored with it at times. Still, can’t bring myself to rate it only three stars so I’m rounding up.

Btw, loved Alex’s friendship with Anh.

“Okay, next topic. What’s been going on with you?”
She shrugs. “Got a new vibrating dildo.”
“Anh!” I gasp in delight. […]
“Chris Humsworth and I are getting along just fine,” she adds.

There are many bad poly romances, a few good ones. And a very few select ones where the poly aspect feels almost inevitable.

I’m happy to report that this one is one of the latter instances: the relationship between Alex the “Tink”, Rowan the “Grizzly bear” and Finn the “Ginger bear” felt so natural, like pieces of a puzzle fitting together perfectly.

And that’s what I enjoyed most while reading the book: the relationship between the three men. Sounds a bit surprising, considering that it’s a series about men working in the adult film industry, right? Yes, it’s all very sex positive, but tbh even though we had a lot of sex scenes (in fact, the book starts with Alex hitting of Rowan on Grindr because he wants to get railed properly by a big bear), I mainly was here for the way they communicated, and how they were better together. No unnecessary drama thank God, just three men and a wholesome found family (tbh I skimmed some of the sex scenes that were a bit much for me…).

All in all a solid 4 star read 🥰

✰3.5 stars✰ rounded up

I’ll start this off by saying that there wasn’t anything wrong with this book… but it just didn’t have as developed as characters as I was hoping and expecting after the last two in the series and that’s on me for just wanting a little more.

I loved Alex in the previous two books in this series and I was so excited when I started to read his story. I’ve loved plenty of MMM in the past, so it wasn’t that part that got me, it was more the fact that it felt like we lost a little bit of character depth here because it was flipping between so many points of view.

Now don’t get me wrong, I loved that Alex got his HEA with Rowan and Finn, and I thought their relationship was super healthy and sweet (and the s*x was also wild). I just felt a little let down after the build up of Alex’s personality in the last books and then not getting much a history or well rounded view of him in his own. The story almost felt more focused around Rowan than Alex or Finn.

I think there’s a huge potential to love this if you read it, I just get really attached to characters when they appear in books before their own and I think I set myself up with higher expectations.

Lovely and sexy mmm romance with a plot (I need to mention that, don't I?).
When Alex, Rowan and Finn finally got together, the author was able to show us a balanced relationship between them, and that's a big feat for mmm.

There's lots of feelings, there's praise kink, found family, body positivity.

The story felt a bit like a queer fairy tale, to be honest (in the best way possible) so for once I won't act like the grinch I am, but I'll happily round up.

I loved this story so much!

Tink was an interesting character since the moment he was first introduced in Virgin Heartsand I was hoping his story would be just the same. Well, now I can honestly say that it was!

At first Alex and his two bears form two separate relationships with all three of them also spending time together and becoming friends. But this is actually the story of how all three got together, how their relationship started and how it moved forward

I loved how open and honest all three of them were. They actually communicated their feelings, thoughts and desires to their partners. They didn't try to hide but instead talked about everything. It was a major reason of why I liked this story so much, along with the amazing characters of course.

Great, awesome read!

This one definitely wasn’t my favorite. We’ve got a triple relationship dynamic here, and while the beginning was pretty enjoyable, around the 60% mark I found myself thinking, “Can they please stop banging for five minutes?” Seriously, it was just too much. Emmy Sanders can write—she knows how to build characters and emotion—so it’s frustrating that the plot leaned so heavily on nonstop sex instead of letting the story breathe.

Ro, unfortunately, rubbed me the wrong way for most of the book. I don’t have much patience for low self-esteem spirals, whether in fiction or real life, so his inner drama wore thin fast. Personally, I would’ve preferred seeing Alex only with Finn. They had way more chemistry, and Finn was just more my type—steady, sweet, and emotionally grounded.

It’s not all bad—the writing’s there, and I did finish it—but this one didn’t click for me.

2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 because I know Sanders can do better.

I love my love stories sappy, sweet, queer and polyam and I will not be ashamed. Alex is the most caring, assertive and lovely twink EVER. He's sunshine personified. Ro is so sweet and shy and he deserves all the 'good boy' he can get. And Finn is the steadiest most self-aware bear to ever love them both. And when they get together, their relationship's development was THE BEST. The orchids, the piercings, the found family, Mo, the rat. Anh's names for her dildos had me cackling.
Also, Manny deserved to be bitchslapped.
And the smut. The mother-effing SMUT! My dudes, Alex is feral and his bears can only oblige.
The epilogue had me 🥹🥹🥹🥹

I had higher hopes for Alex (Tink’s) book, but unfortunately it wasn’t as good as Mal’s book, that is still my favorite so far of this series!

This had some boring parts that I almost DNF’ed haha… I do feel like when they became a throuple, everything became rushed and didn’t flow.

BR with my girl Cass!

Wow, this has been the steamiest book that Emmy has ever written!

Which makes sense because out of everything we’ve learned about our favorite twink Alex, aka Tink, he is one horny boy. And there ain’t no shame in his game.

Rowan on the other hand may be a little older than Alex but he’s a baby in the gay world. And the experience he’s had, has been less than desirable. Like don’t even get me started on Manuel, that jackass.

Then there’s Finn who’s been crushing on Rowen for months and when he finally gets the nerve to tell Rowen exactly how he feels nothing goes according to plan.

But these boys certainly made lemonade out of lemons. Boy did they ever!

Honestly, I avoid a lot of ménage because it’s so difficult to make everyone equal and then I feel bad for the outlier. And while that may have been the case for the first half, it certainly got better and became everything I could want.

Now I love my smut, especially when it’s a good variety and Emmy gave us all the variety. The fisting and DP was perfection. But I will say that there was a bit much and that maybe just maybe we could’ve faded to black a time or two.

Otherwise this was another great addition to a series that I adore. I can’t wait for the next one.

I love a good contrast in main characters. And when you're talking 2 bears and a twink, I'm surprised I haven't read this sooner!

To start off we see the gorgeous Rowan and Alex. Big vs small. Shy vs confident. Naive vs experienced... I'm not normally a fan of sex without build up, and also not before we get to even know these characters... but phew! It really worked for me this time! 🔥

And then add Finn to the mix, Rowan's neighbour. Oh and how adorable was the first time they all met! 😍

Intriguing that in mm romances, I'm all for a spot of jealousy but here I was equally in love with the no jealousy 'clause' that I'm presuming is a must for poly relationships.

Finn's sensitivity to the situation is beautiful and admirable. And driving the 'solution' for the 3 of them, just made me fall in love with him too. 😍

This being the second mmm romance of Sanders', I was interested to see how differently she would write the two very different stories. The emotions, the build up, the conversations...

Watching them slowly fall in love with each other was just divine! ❤️

And in a huge contrast to 10 Ways to Accidentally Fall in Love (which was my read before this) I loved the hyper twink character Alex! I found his sensitivity and protectiveness of 'his bears' utterly adorable and written with a depth that made me feel all the feels. 😍

DNF @ 66%. The characters in this book, like the rest of the series, are lovely. The romance is sweet and heartfelt, with very few and easily overcome obstacles. It's just not keeping my interest. There is no tension, no issues to resolve, no plot threads to keep me turning the pages. For someone looking for something saccharine and low-angst to read this book is probably great, but it's not capturing my attention enough to want to know what happens in the last third, since most of the book already feels like a prolonged HEA.

I love Alex/Tink but I felt like there was too little of him in his own book. Rowan felt more like the MC and while I liked both him and Finn, I wanted more Alex.

I'd hoped they'd all get together sooner than they actually did, but overall I enjoyed this

I could not wait for Tink's book especially because this series has been a little hit and miss for me. Dix was just Ok and Malibu was fantastic but I have loved Tink as a character - he just embraces all he is including his considerable sex drive. I love it!

We find Tink hooking up with his favourite kind of hook up, a bear. Rowan is big and you know, bear-like but so reserved and shy and the two find themselves fascinated with each other and the hook ups continue until one fine evening Rowan's very hot neighbour Finn comes to visit

Its clear to Tink that there is some serious chemistry between Rowan and Finn so he leaves them to it, happy to remain friends with Rowan but Finn suggests an alternative. And so we see the beginning of this curiously developing poly relationship between the three. What I loved about this was that is was actually Rowan dating them both, but Finn ad Tink were not dating each other. They hung out, they became friends but they weren't actually dating.

Finn is a natural caretaker of them all, Tink is a breath of life and spontaneity and Rowan? Dear, sweet Rowan who was so badly abused by his former partner comes out of his shell so beautifully. The whole thing was so sweet and yet also hot AF, especially as we see the burgeoning relationship between Finn and Tink also.

I adored this approach to a poly relationship. Emmy Sanders, as always, embraces the differences and subtleties within sexualities and relationships and does it well.

This was an amazing addition to the Elite 8 series.

I LOVED this book! This is the first book in the Elite 8 series I have read, but I will definitely be going back to read the earlier books.

Alex/Tink is just such a lovable character. I love how energetic and vibrant he is and how unapologetic he is with his love of his job and sex. His chemistry with both Rowan and Finn was just so great, real and with an ease to it. How can you not love this character?

I also loved Rowan so, so much. What a sweetie! And I love how his confidence grew in all aspects the more he got to know Finn and Alex and be comfortable with them.

The three men start out as a polycule - where Finn and Rowan are together, and Rowan and Alex are together, and I love the progression of that, with Rowan being the common denominator, to Alex and Finn making their own connection and that growing into a full throuple type relationship for the three of them. It works for them, and I love the communication and openness as they all fall for each other.

This is a high steam, very sweet, very low angst (basically none lol) romance. I absolutely loved it as everything just left a smile on my face. These three are so great together, and this is a great romance for MMM lovers, where all three are equals and have different dynamics that all work to bring the best out in each other. Loved this and can't wait of the next book!

I absolutely loved this book. I’ve been exited to read Alex’s story since the first book in the series. I started it not realizing it was an MMM so that was a happy surprise for me. I loved all three of the guys in this one! Alex, Finn and Rowan were perfect for each other. I’m glad the other guys in the series still make an appearance in the books.

ahhhh alex got his hea <3

where to begin! our darling alex got his hea -i’m actually happy with the way this book turned out, it’s just very alex and I wouldn’t of expected anything less if I’m being real. alex was an absolute angel of a guy who deserves the whooooooole world and for him to find it with not just one but two big ole bears, well i am just thrilled for him.

the story was simple but beautifully done, i enjoyed this book because you really can’t overcomplicate alex, he’s wild and he knows it and this book i feel portrayed him just as well as they do in the other books.

we all know alex has an extremely healthy appetite and one guy just wouldn’t be enough so making this mmm was perfect! i am a big fan of mmm/poly as long as it’s done right: good honest communication + no jealousy!! emmy did sooooo good. the beginning starts out a little uncertain in their first meeting as these three men find themselves in an awkward situation but once they find their feet and realise what they could have, it’s gorg!! there was never any jealously or unfairness in this dynamic, each person brought something new to the fold and it worked so well -not once did i think urgh this is too much or i feel sorry for one of the mcs, out of all the mmm i have read, this one has definitely top marks for being written the best due to equality in the relationship. i love that for them.

i also really enjoyed the fact i knew exactly which character was talking and could follow along so easily because all their characters had strong details about them, it’s something you can easily to get lost in who’s chapter is whose when reading mm+ but not with this one, finn, rowan + alex were lovely and I really loved them all individually and together.

rowan, our beautifully sweet + soft baby bear, who had been in a awful previous relationship and left him quite damaged. finn, our love sick neighbour who has so much love and care to give, was giving absolute daddy vibes lmao. then alex, our wild, care free, absolute angel of a tiny man, found two guys who loved him exactly the way he was.

i will give a mention, when it’s mmm you know there’s gonna be hella spice and it delivvvvvered ok. it’s sweet but with alllll the spices. enjoy <3

Goldie and his two bears.

We finally get to Alex’s (Tink) book, he gives all the sass and sarcasm that we’ve been teased with in the first two instalments of the series and doesn’t disappoint.

Alex finds his perfect bear in the form of Rowan, a Grindr match, who has been beaten down verbally by a previous boyfriend and starts off shy and vulnerable. After a slightly awkward encounter during their second meeting with Rowans friend and neighbour Finn, the three embark on building a relationship between them, eventually leading to the three become an official throuple.

Laughs, rat adoption, and the introduction of Alex to baseball pants are interspersed within a heartwarming story of overcoming the thoughts of feeling like you’re not going to find your person, or in this case, people.

Although the book is called Tink, the real star of this story for me was Finn. He’s loving, kind, so supportive and such a pillar to Alex and Rowan.

Thank you to GRR for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I've been waiting for Alex's story since we first met him in Dixon and GAH. This was so dang sweet I have a tummy ache. Alex, Rowan, and Finn being a poly couple? So. Perfect. I loved how their relationship developed and how the three of them helped each other grow. I especially adored how Rowan came to realize that he was beautiful and wanted and his ex was just a stupid idiot. And Alex getting his HEA? Especially in that epilogue? Guh. Adorable.

I'm pretty sure Cas gets his romance next - with a certain barista - but I am DYING for Emil's romance. Please please please make it student/teacher because I need that in my life LOL.

4.5⭐️ This was such a sweet, low angst, MMM book. There was so much heart and emotion between these 3 men. I loved how much communication and openness was shared within their relationship. There was never any doubt where anyone stood.Obviously the addition of a third into a relationship could create tension, jealousy and competition but that was never the case with Rowan, Finn and Alex.

Alex had a big personality but he didn't apologize for it. However, he had assumed that he probably wouldn't find his forever person because he was too much for most people. His friends adored him but he thought those relationships would have to be enough for him. Finding Rowan changed his world. He found this wonderful man who accepted all his quirks without issue. He only ever wanted Alex to be himself. This was also the case when he met Finn.

Rowan had lousy self esteem. His ex had basically belittled him for the duration of their relationship and left him a bit in shambles. Alex (Tink) really helped him come to life. Alex embraced all of Rowan without exception. Their brief time together really showed Rowan what he could have with someone.

Finn was so captivated by Rowan but didn't assume he knew enough about him to take the leap to ask him out. He wasn't really jealous of Alex but he was intrigued. He also wanted Rowan but more than anything he wanted Rowan happy. He could see Alex as that sunshine Rowan needed and he, himself, would ultimately be unable to resist.

There was just so much sweetness between these three. The acceptance and honesty was refreshing. Even their intimacy was sweet while also being anything but vanilla. This one will surprise you with some metal accessories, lots of prep and very steamy group activities.

Okay I didn’t hate this but I didn’t love it either.

I was so excited to read Alex’s story when he was introduced in Dix. He’s such a fun bubbly character so I knew his book would be too.

I DO love Alex so much. Him and Rowan were so sweet and they balanced each other out. Finn, on the other hand, was just kind of there. I felt like this could have easily been MM with Rowan and Alex. But I understand why it was MMM and how Alex needs two men to keep up with him.

Listen, I love reading smut as much as everyone else but holy shit I was getting whiplash. One second we are at the pet store buying a rat and the next is an intense sex scene. I felt like this happened throughout the whole book. One intense sex scene would have been enough (I don’t Want to spoil these for everyone so yeah)

The little cameos of Dix and Mal were fun. And I’m excited for the next book!

Anyways, I received this arc in exchange for an honest review.

So this was disappointing… I really liked Dix and I loved Malibu. And I actually mostly love triad books, because most of the time they portray so much sweetness. This author is a great writer in her other books.
In this one however… Did she switch editors? Or did she think, let’s switch things up and constantly repeat myself? Why is Alex in every other sentence “the blonde”? So incredibly annoying! I just couldn’t get over it.

The story itself was actually fun and not very standard when it comes to triad books (where you mostly have an established couple finding a third, or where they all fall in love at the same time. In this book they were all new, but it took a while to go from one guy with two boyfriends to a group of three. And that felt more believable. But then the many blond boy-descriptions (even after she just wrote his name in the previous sentence) came along. And I just couldn’t get over it.

Just some quotes from the same one or two pages:

*”Do it, Ging,” the blonde says, his face awash in pleasure.*

*When I get back to the room, Rowan is brushing Alex’s hair back. He kisses the blonde’s forehead sweetly.*

* Ro heads to his room to dress, and Alex follows. The blonde has been steadily leaving more and more possessions both here and at my place.*

* The bartender heads right Alex’s way, leaning across the space to give him a little hug. Everyone here seems to know the blonde minx.*

* Alex waggles his eyebrows, and I snort. Always the innuendos with this man. The feisty blonde hops a step, bouncing lightly.*

* But Alex has a beaming grin on his face. The small blonde pops up first.* (yes, still Alex we’re talking about 🙄)

So definitely won’t reread. And if you don’t like annoying repeats, I don’t recommend either…

Tink by Emmy Sanders, may have become one of my favorite books of all time. I liked to start by saying MMM has never been my thing, I’ve struggled trying to read these books but this one was so different. I was quickly locked in and I couldn’t put it down. Emmy wrote this so well, there was no difference between who got loved on, they were loved equally and so fully. They were so supportive and it was so stunningly beautiful. I don’t have the words to do this justice for you, Emmy.

I don’t even know where to start. Gosh, our darling Alex, is just amazing, he has to be one of my favorite characters ever written. I’ve loved getting to know him in the other books but reading Alex’s (Tink’s) book, hit differently.

This man is so selfless, observant and just a loving, caring, all around good person. I cried at how selfless his sweet soul was.

I love how he sees the unspoken, and helps everyone navigate their lives including love. It’s like he hears what they aren’t saying and helps everyone find their perfect match. I love how committed he is to this, even though he thought he would never find his own happy ever after. I love even more that he did and that Mal was right, he had two perfect men for him.

Rowan and Finn were so amazing as well. I loved both of there characters. You have to read this book just to understand how perfect these three were for each other.

Goldie and his two bears👱‍♂️🐻🐻 😍🥰

This book has my heart and soul and will forever live rent free in my head.

Thanks Emmy for giving me hope of reading more MMM romance books and falling in love even more with books. I sincerely hope you are really proud of all your hard work and the books you have written.

I've been putting this book off because honestly, I'm not the biggest MMM fan. This book shocked me because I enjoyed it so much! Alex, Finn, and Rowan are a little match made in heaven.

I feel like Rowan was kind of the main guy here, but I didn't mind because he's such a sweetie and deserved all the love! He and Alex meet through Grindr, and Rowan and Finn are neighbors. I'm not going to give too much away, but their first few interactions were so fun. I love that Alex is the take charge type and there's not a single elephant in the room he'll ignore. Their story is definitely mostly about their relationship and character development. So there isn't a huge overarching plot other than them exploring a poly relationship with each other.

Rowan last relationship wasn't good, and I love how Finn and Alex were there every day to help him with those insecurities. Rowan, being the genuine good guy he is, just has that kindness and sweetness you want to protect. Alex is such a fun guy, but also compassionate. I love his energy so much. Finn is definitely the Papa bear in this scenario, always protective and watching out. Above all, they want each other to be happy, and because they truly want that their dynamic works.

Going into this I thought I had an idea of how it would go, but I wasn't right at all. And it was amazing. Their relationship and development felt so natural and worked for them. Some of the outside drama wasn't great, but I loved their relationship so much that I didn't really cared.

Really excited for the next few books, this little found family at Elite 8 are so fun and adorable.
