high spice, high fun!

Fated Mates and me just work, especially when he crosses worlds to get to her. The prisoner trope was a interesting aspect. The story stayed interesting as well through multiple unsolved mysteries of which we do not get an answer for all of them in this book.
The end felt somewhat rushed and I would've liked a more time with the couple, but overall a fun read!

This is a monster smut Romance but has a plot that has twists, danger and ends on a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting the next book asap. In fact I need it... I feel robbed that I can't immediately dive into book 2 after where it was left. I will be impatiently waiting for the next one with baited breath.
The fantasy aspect and world build is new to me and unique, which has me intrigued. I like the non-traditional names and the mixing of paranormal creatures that don't fit the stereotypical boxes you would put them in.

I must confess that I was immediately captivated by the cover of this story. I’m a sucker for big, bad boys who look like hunks, just like Sariel. I adore Chiara’s newsletters, so I was especially curious about this story.

We are introduced to Elowen, who works for a shady scientist researching different species in an effort to improve human health. Her life has been far from great since the loss of her mother, and her only refuge lies in the daemon who appears in her dreams.

Sariel, on the other hand, is grieving the tragic loss of his brother and is searching for him everywhere. When he feels the signs of the summoning—the irresistible pull to find his soulbound—he crosses realms to locate her, even risking imprisonment. The moment he lays eyes on the one destined to care for him, he knows she is his soulbound, and he is determined to do whatever it takes to free them both from the clutches of the mad scientist.

I loved the characters and thoroughly enjoyed all the spice, even if it felt a bit over the top at times… but honestly, who can resist the completion of a mating bond? And let’s be real—I’m not complaining, especially when a tail is involved. ;) As for the plot, it wasn’t as deep as I initially expected. However, given that this is a novella, I understand that there are limitations to complexity. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more about Elowen and Sariel’s journey!

This felt like a full book even though it was technically a novella. Our MMC is a 7.5 tall Daemon who fulls the tug of his soul bond in another world, and he unfortunately loses his brother to a different world in the process. His soul bond happens to be a female human with a tragic backstory. He jumps worlds to find her only to be captured by her seemingly human employer and lover, who we hate. We have some captor/captive dynamics, LOTs of spice and instant attraction/love, and a plot to escape.

While I did enjoy aspects of this book it tended to lose me. The beginning was interesting and I waited to see how it unfolded but then the explanation was just info dumped.

By the end I just kept saying get on with it already. It wasn’t able to keep me focused (even with the tail action👀) it saddens me that the 🪢 was so underwhelming too.

It didn’t feel like there was enough depth to the plot, world, characters or their connection too. At one point it felt like they were switching to a whole new couple when it went to evandriels pov. Focus pulled way too much from our couple.

I wasnt gonna read book 2 but I have to admit that ending peaked my interest I can’t lie 😭

I cannot believe I started reading this. All the TWs and nowhere did it mention the uncomfortably awkward sex between the DR and our fmc that she seems to instigate, want and beg him for. That shit was embarrassing to read and I can’t look past it or convince myself that this is a fmc id like to read about.

Also, nowhere does it explain why she begs and pleads for her employer to fuck her when he clearly hates doing it and doesn’t even like her!? Why?

(3.5) damn that was hot! Elowen has dreamt of a Daemon for years and she has now crossed paths with him but in a dungeon cell. Sariel is taken and chained up to be experimented on by the mad Dr. Foresyth, and Elowen is tasked to clean and care for him. They immediately feel an attraction to each other, escape, go back to Sariels home land and it is pound townnn! But that ending… her mom… def interested in the next book!

4.5 ⭐️ I came across a friends ARC review of this, and with it being such a short book and fancying a little spice in my life I gave it a go. The downside to this book is that it was not long enough 😭 man it was sooo good. Thing is with spicy books, it can be all style no substance. Very wham bam thank you mam, with just rough stuff for the sake of it, accompanied by terrible writing, however this was written so well. The spice was tastefully written, it had you hooked and invested, and it was never overkill or crass. I honestly loved it and the authors writing is superb. I’m so invested in this world I can’t wait for the next book!

My blood is yours is an amazing monster romance, it is a fast paced spicy story about soul mates, Sariel, who's a demon prince is on a search for his soulbound, who is in another realm, earth, after chasms open up in his realm, loosing his brother he uses his familys heirloom in order to reach her. But he is captured and held as a prisoner for an evil man, a mad scientist who is the fmcs master, who wants to test him.
They admit that they're there for each other, and she cares for him.

This daemon is definitely fits the “cinnamon roll only for her, touch her and d*e” trope that I and so many readers LOVE, and I ATE HIM UP. I loved that Elowen is a strong character in her own right, and I’m an absolute sucker for the soul mate trope. The side characters were all written so well - there’s so much to rave about in this book!

This was such quick, sexy, fun and engaging read! I need more and can’t wait to see what happens next! I’m so excited for the summoning to read the next book(s)! COUNT. ME. IN.

4.5 stars-♡♡ ARC REVIEW ♡♡- Firstly, I love the dedication. It made me feel warm and fuzzy <3 then, let's add the fact that the FMC is 30. (All the Heart eyes here. We love an older leading lady.) She gives the old group like myself some hope that maybe there is still time to be swept off our feet by a handsome, winged, dreamy male ;) The descriptions in this book are immaculate, painting me a beautiful picture of the story in my head, and I had to actually force myself to put the book down to sleep. I wanted to give a heads up too, as the author warned in the trigger warnings, this book has a loooooooooooot of c^m play. Like copious amounts. Like a really good chunk of the book. This isn't something that bothers me, but it did get a bit repetitive by the end. Make sure you're going into it fully aware of all that fluid That said, put on your rain boots and jump right in ;) it's a fun monster love story to scratch that spicy itch!

My Blood is Yours was an immediate ARC request for me after seeing THAT image of our handsome daemon Sariel all over my Instagram feed, and so my hopes were high.

MAAM you have surpassed them. I couldn’t hide my Cheshire Cat smile on the train journey home reading the banter, the romance and the SPICE MY GOD. Cocktails with Magda and Elowen would heal me. Sariel, and even Evandriel, are husband goals. I devoured this saucy little book where all the males worship their women (as they should!!) and I recommend you do the same.

TLDR: DNFed this book because it read like an AI monstrosity. The plot holes were hard to get over, the smut was one-dimensional, and the characters read like cardboard cut outs of people.

I am going to be honest, I did not choose this book for its phenomenal writing, or its interesting plot. I needed something quick, smutty, and just interesting enough to keep me hooked. And I will give this book that it was quick and it was smutty. But interesting? Probably not the word I would use.

I don't usually write reviews, as I prefer to regale my friends with all the crazy (and often ridiculous) things I read, but I felt compelled to tell anyone planning on reading this book my honest thoughts.

Firstly, I did not finish this book. And I will finish almost anything. I have read the craziest stuff, from Chris Tingle's Pounded by the Pound, to Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer. I am the queen of silly smut and I will devour and finish the worst of the worst if it is recommended to me. Its probably the Wattpad kid in me. I don't know. But I could not for the life of me finish this book. At first, it gave me the ick when we open to the main character talking to this old woman we never meet again, but that she is apparently very close to, about these sex dreams she is having about the MMC. This is a personal thing, but it was very much giving "this character has no friends, and instead of just having internal dialogue, lets create this random person she can tell all her secrets to so the internal speech isn't too long" and it just did not work.

The next point of contention I held with this book was the not fade-to-black scene of her getting her back blown out by the man who (SPOILER) killed her mother and enslaves the man she claims to love. Now, this is also a personal thing for myself, but I HATE reading about the FMC sleeping with someone who isn't the MMC. So a little warning would have been nice. However, if the fucking needs to happen as a way to further the plot (think ACOTAR) then I accept it as a necessary evil. There was literally NO reason for this scene to be added. If anything, it just makes everything else that happens following seem less special IMO. Like, you got dicked down by this man and then not even a day later have the "love of your life's" dick down your throat? I am all for a slut (no judgement) but like, that somewhat diminishes what is going on. Especially when, as the book progresses, the FMC is written like a horny little sex gremlin. Constantly talking about each character, man or women, as if she cannot control herself sexually. In what way do you need to describe your "friend" as looking like he has a big cock? Or a woman as having huge tits, unprovoked. It was like she was just staring men down and getting horny as fuck alllllll the time, even when the circumstances say you really shouldn't be getting a lady boner.

Anyways, I was able to continue to choke down this novel, despite hating the first few chapters because I am not a quitter. But by the 63% mark, I just could NOT keep up with the plot holes and blatant sexism that was being toted as "female empowerment".

Starting with the plot holes. The FMC mother dies a few years prior to the books time line, a fact that seems to deeply upset he FMC (understandably). It also seems to deeply upset Evandriel (E), the villains "henchman". In a VERY obvious turn of events, it turns out E was in love with FMC's mother and believed her to be his soulbound (his mate).

Now the plot holes with this whole mess include, E being sooooo in love with the mother, and yet also allowing her to be killed by his "boss" as a way to quell the mothers magic abilities. He was also soooo in love with her that he left her beloved daughter in the employ of a man that would later use his position as her boss to sexually and physically control her (which we, as the reader, are supposed to find sexy because the FMC "chose" to give herself to him as an act of rebellion?!?). He also loved her so much that, despite having magic himself, he never actually helps her control hers in any way to prevent her from feeling like she needs to basically drain her own life force to prevent herself from using her gift. This whole situation made very little sense to me. But hey, I wasn't really here for the plot, so I let it slide. UNTIL I found out that the rest of the book was going to be a split POV between the main couple and this random man I gave very little shits about. This was when I began realizing this may just be a DNF for me.

After this reveal, I decided to do a little snooping into the end of the book (don't blame me, blame my attention span) and I discovered that E is looking to find the FMC's dead mother in the "after realm" (whatever this is) because she was his one true soulbound. But actually, E has a different soulbound, one that he believes is his second chance given to him by the FMS's mother. So, good for him, right? But the confusion comes when you find out the the FMC's mother WAS reincarnated into another woman who looks exactly like her. So was E never the FMC's mother's soulbound? Wouldn't they be bounded across timelines? Or is this version of mates not that deep? And if its not that deep, why is it such an integral part of this society and book? This whole situation just confused me to a point I had very little interest in continuing to read, but I continued to search for a reason to finish this book. And in searching, I found the reason to actually just put the whole book down.

The ending of this book ends on a "cliff hanger", where the FMC finds her mother, or at least a woman who looks exactly like her mother, who is (if foreshadowing is to be believed) soulbound her the MMC's brother. I will repeat, because I don't think I got my point across. THE FMC's MOTHER IS MATED TO THE MMC'S BROTHER. Making her mother both her mother, and SIL, her husband both her mate and uncle, and making her brother in law both her BIL and Step Father... I have read quite a few step sibling/parent/uncle romances, so I am not necessarily a newb to these concepts, but there is just something about knowing I will be reading about the FMC's mother getting her back blown out in the next book just really icks me out. But this is a personal thing, so this might not actually dissuade anyone from reading.

Finally, I really need to talk about the descriptions and treatment of women in this book. I love a good "you're mine and I am going to use and abuse you like you're mine" concept. I love a good "touch her and die" concept. I even love a good dub-con every once in a while. So I am not a prude to women being treated as sex objects in books. And when done well, I even enjoy these scenes in books. But I felt that everything in this book just fell a little flat and did not reach the finish line in any sense. First, the concept of there being a D/S relationship in this was laughable. It not only makes 0 sense with the characters, but D/S is not a little butt slapping and calling someone a good boy. There was literally no domination or submission in this book. And there shouldn't have been! The MMC literally worshipped the FMC, but they were written more as equal partners during sex than anything else, and that would have worked for them. I understanding Authors putting in triggers as a pre-caution, but that tag is not at all accurate.

Second, the FMC has literally no autonomy it felt like. I understand that this woman does not exist and is created by and author for my entertainment. But can she at least have a bit of a personality to go with the cock drooling? Like, even just a little quirk that isn't just her having big tits? This book read like the FMC was just a puppet being thrown from situation to situation with literally no active participation in her own life. She made basically no decisions and was written like a plot device to be used for smut and moving the book along but with no real agency. I did not love this. The MMC was almost as bad, having the personality of a cardboard cut out of a caveman, with an obsession with her vagina. I don't usually complain about vag obsessions, but when I know literally nothing about the FMC's personality, but I can describe her vagina in great detail, there is something seriously wrong.

The descriptions used during the sex scenes were repetitive and honestly just boring. It read like an AI novel, which was super disappointing because I have been actively avoiding books written by AI because supporting real authors is important to me. Further, the descriptions of women's bodies came off as if they were written by a man. My favorite (not) being when the FMC finds her mother at a "human" auction and states that her only "differing" feature from before is that her breasts are plump, larger, and dripping with breast milk, which was contrary to how she remembered her mothers breasts being?!? When was she staring at her mothers tits enough for her to make a distinction between these two people based solely on breast size and shape. This was just such a male written description that I actually tried to research if the author was a man penning as a woman or if this was AI written. And this was only the most atrociously obvious part that I remember giving me pause. There were many more....

Honestly, I really like supporting random writers, as I feel big names tend to get a lot of the attention and leave the little guys hidden in the dust, despite their books being just as good, or sometimes better. But this was just not it for me. I wont yuck your yum if this is the type of literature you are into, but I certainly will not be sampling from this author again. Which is sad because I was looking forward to reading their Hallowed Fates series.

I am giving them 2 stars because I think they deserve a star just for the grammar (kudos to you for actually getting an editor, many independent's do not) and another star for putting their idea out there, as it is a very scary thing to try! I really wish I liked this and I really wish it wasn't triggering my AI tingles.

Fast paced, spicy, intense forced proximity, and so entertaining!
Sariel, a demon prince is on a quest to find his soulbound, but when he uses his family's relic to portal to earth he ends up being captured and held prisoner.
Elowen has dreamed about a demon for months, and now she's face to face with him locked in a cell and forced to care for him and retrieve DNA samples for her master.
Their chemistry is instant and undeniable, he only wants to please his mate, she cares for him and makes him beg, and their forced proximity only brings their bond closer.

It's a layered plot of fated mates, dom/sub dynamics, sexual exploration, and trying to escape their prison. There is also mystery, drama, banter, lots of lust and portal travel.
One to read if you love spicy monster romances.
Can't wait for more of this series.

After reading the summary, I had an idea of what would happen. Sometimes, it's awesome to get something different than what you were expecting. However, that was not the case this time, lol. I was looking for something specific and didn't find it in this book. It wasn’t bad; I enjoyed the romance, yearning, and overall plot. However, it was strange: the beginning made sense and had good progression while revealing more about the characters. But after the halfway point, it went off-topic. This happens sometimes when authors have other books planned for the series that feature different characters. It's as if I were being sold the next book, but it just didn’t make sense within the plot. It threw me off.

Sariel and Elowen are absolutely made for each other. The kind of in love that makes you a little jealous and a little feral.
I genuinely loved this. The only thing I didn't love was that cliffhanger because excuse me?? I now have more questions than answers. I NEED to know who Elowen's father is or was. Also, am I crazy or was Theriel straight up ignoring the call to find his mate?? And what exactly is going to happen when he comes back with a carbon copy of Elowen's mother? And don't even get me started on Evandriel what will he do when he sees her ...?!??
Also, Chiara... I need to talk. The MMC's name was one letter away from my son's name and I was mildly disturbed the entire time.
Anyway. I'm obsessed. Please hurry with the next book before I spiral.

Every book I read by Chiara has me wanting her to double the book sizes, because what do you MEAN I only got 200 pages of this??

Since it *is* only 200 pages, it is super fast paced and there’s obviously some insta-love (I mean, how do we get to the spice otherwise?), but there’s also more depth to both the plot and the characters than I expected! Because again, 200 pages isn’t a lot to work with, especially when you add in a few *fun* scenes.

I’m definitely invested in the story though and can’t wait to continue the series!
