The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.

I received a free Audible copy of Pbi Case Files Bundle 1 from the author in exchange for my honest review.

While I didn't get into the series right off the bat, it did quickly draw me in and once I was hooked, I was hooked. It's a series with danger and mystery that doesn't end up being dark. There are love, friendship, and entertaining moments to lighten it to a point that you shouldn't think it's very dark at all. The series includes a plethora of paranormal beings including, but not limited to, vampires, shifters (bear specifically), Amazons, demi-gods, gods/goddesses, and telepaths. The variety adds a lot of life to the story with the characters largely not being of the same species/race as one another. The main characters are Sarah (human) and her sister, Frankie (human) as well as Fang/Luke (bear shifter) and Devon (vampire). Sarah and Frankie find themselves thrust into a world beyond their imaginings (either that or death). Thus, they both join the PBI (as humans). As the series progresses, circumstances dictate actions that result in Sarah and Frankie no longer being your average humans (and neither of them is very happy about it!). The interplay between these four main characters and the others (such as Karma and Jasmine) that make regular appearances is never boring. As I said before, the books are not dark so, while there hasn't been a HEA ending yet, it is coming. We just need to have a little faith in the characters and their ability to move past adversity. Each of the books ends in a cliffhanger (which isn't a big deal for books 1-3, but stinks when you reach the end of book 4, obviously). I would recommend this to any PNR lovers who like a clean romance (sex and language, so far) romance that is an adventure and a lot of fun to listen to (or read). Needless to say, I am most definitely interested in listening to Bundle 2!

This is the perfect example of an author understanding a readers need to have a good story and have it now. These novellas/episodes of the paranormal investigative variety are original and exciting, promising fans and readers everywhere a long and happy relationship with the characters you become attached to. You'll have a chance to get to know their many flaws and strengths much the same way viewers do when watching a television show. With the promise of a new episode being written and released every month to two months who wouldn't want to get caught up in this awesome paranormal thriller where paranormal case files are investigated by Francesca and Sarah Hollister and their sexy supernatural partners. Come join in on the journey and see where these case files take our characters and you in the process. If you love paranormal romance with a dash of intrigue and a whole lot of thrilling suspense you will love PBI Case Files. Just sayin'!

Sarah went to a nightclub that her sister invited her too. She was getting over a horrible breakup and already arrived drunk. Frankie, Sarah’s sister, allows her boss to help her sober up. There is crazy chemistry between Sarah and Devon. Unfortunately, Devon is a vampire.

Many twists and turns lands Sarah in a very dangerous situation. She either works for the PBI or die. She accepts the job. The chemistry between Sarah and Devon continues to heat up. Sarah works her first case and so it begins.

Jami knows how write a good story so that it keeps the reader wanting to come back for more. The sisters, Sarah and Frankie, are well thought out characters that you want to see what happens to them as they discover this new world and what their role is. I cannot wait to see what where Jami takes this series to in the next book. This is a fast-paced paranormal short story that leaves the reader wanting more. I would definitely recommend this book!

I got the box set of the PBI case files free on Amazon.com, along with a few other free books I happened to notice.
I have read books by Jami Brumfield before, but this one was very different. The heroine has the broken heart that many authors start romance books with, but that is the last traditional thing in the story. I really enjoyed the plot.
Girl has broken heart, girl gets drunk, girl goes to club with sister to find someone to make her feel attractive/sex...then girl meets vampire--not your average romance.
I really like the vampire. He is really attracted to the one sister, and he has to work to be a gentleman, because he is so into her.
The two sisters are both important parts of the story. They are strong and were raised to be able to take care of themselves. Once they meet the vampire, more odd things happen, and then we get to know the Paranormal Bureau of Investigation. I'm looking forward to the next story.

I've recently become a fan of the short story and novella genre.
It takes a lot of skill, and storytelling ability to lay out a plot, create likeable characters, and weave both into a fascinating story...thankfully, with more to come! Ms. Brumfield proves she's a master at it!

This novella is as enjoyable as watching an episode of CSI on TV...only, with a paranormal twist. Francesca and Sarah not only find danger during their investigations, but they also find they are endowed with gifts that will see them through this new world of mystery and intrigue, that they never knew existed. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

Bravo, Ms. Brumfield!

I really enjoyed this book and it brought to mind X-files, Warehouse 13, Fringe type of tv shows. This would be the first episode where two sisters stumble into something they have no idea actually exist.... vampires, Amazons, and other paranormal creatures. How would you deal with that type of situation? I think I'd probably do what they do. I can't say much more about this without giving away this book.... and I hate people spoiling books for me so I won't for you.

This is the second book I've read of Jami Brumfield and she is quickly becoming a fave author for me. I'll be reading and reviewing PBI Case Files: Out Break soon! Cant wait!

Another win for Jami Brumfield. This is the first book in her new series and it doesn't disappoint. It is a well written, fast paced, exciting tale complete with vampires, demi gods and amazons. Who knew having a bad day would make such a dramatic change in one’s life. Secret government agencies, a sexy bad boy vampire, names like Fang and Karma, kick ass heroines and a mystery. What more could you ask for. You are going to definitely want to add this one to your library.

Great premise

this is going to be short and sweet. I love the paranormal investigations angle, part of what I enjoyed most about the Dresden files and both of laurel k Hamilton's series. my biggest complaint about this intro to pbi is the lusty romance kind of comes out of nowhere. the characters are introduced and then they are in heat, lost out on the angsty buildup. even with that I enjoyed the read.

OMG! I have found one of the best books ever. The story had me turning the page so fast just to see what happens next. Sarah and Frankie are great spitfire sisters who don't take crap from anyone and don't let the unusual deter them. We also meet Devon and his team of crime fighters who consist of Fang, Karma, and Jasmine. This group dynamic is awesome and I can't wait to see what happens to them and Devon and Sarah’s relationship.

Awesome!

Paranormal writing at its best! Sarah, Frankie and Devon are fantastic characters in this fantastic book. My only criticism is that it ended so quickly! I can't wait to read the next book!

This has all the makings of stereotypical vampire porn. If you're into that, it's probably fine enough. I'm not so I'm glad I didn't spend too much time with it.
