She’s fighting to protect everything she cares about. He can’t resist a damsel in distress. But he has no idea how high the cost will be if they fail.
Clovis Honeybun is working undercover to catch an assassin targeting his uncle, Senator Brick Honeybun. But his search is waylaid when he spots a pretty woman being mistreated by a guy who looks a lot like his target. Going rogue on a dangerous hunch, Clovis plunges down a trail that might be the right direction but the wrong bad guy. Ultimately, Clovis discovers he could have to choose between saving the woman burrowing her way into his heart, or a man he’s loved and respected since he was old enough to crawl.
*** “I can’t help you if you don’t talk to me, Emma.” She shook her head. “I can’t. It’s too risky.” “What is it? Did you do something illegal? I can help. My brother’s a lawyer.” In an effort to change the subject she smiled. “I thought he was a cop.” Clovis shrugged. “Not a cop exactly, but…he’s both…I mean, they are. I have seven brothers.” Emma’s eyes widened in shock. “Good god.” Clovis’s grin widened. “Yeah, I get that reaction a lot.” “No sisters?” “We used to think Heathcliffe was gonna turn out to be a girl.” “Heathcliffe Honeybun? Really? I thought Clovis was bad.” The expressive, blond eyebrow peaked again and she laughed. “Sorry. That came out wrong.” “No, it’s okay. We’re used to it. Our mom has a strange sense of humor.” “A mother with eight sons, it would be that or electric shock therapy.” Clovis snorted out a laugh. “That’s good.” She didn’t want to smile at the note of approval in his voice. But she did anyway. She couldn’t seem to help herself. “So why did you think Heathcliffe was going to be a girl? Is he gay?” “Nope. But it took him a really long time to stop acting like a baby and man up.” “A late bloomer, huh?” “Yeah, he didn’t get interested in a football until he was five.” “Five? Egad!” She couldn’t help chuckling. His grin made her stomach jump a little. “Keep laughing, but when you’re the last of eight boys you need to grow up fast. If only so you can survive meal times.” She forced a frown onto her face. “I can see that. Besides, he really dragged his feet.” Clovis nodded. “S’truth.”
USA Today and Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author Sam Cheever writes mystery and suspense, creating stories that draw you in and keep you eagerly turning pages. Known for writing great characters, snappy dialogue, and unique and exhilarating stories, Sam is the award-winning author of 100+ books.
Honeybun on the Run, by Sam Cheever is either book 7 in the Honeybun Heat series or Book 7 in the originally published Honeybun Hunks Series. Having already read the other six books in this series, I had high expectations and Ms. Cheever did not disappoint. She kept me riveted to the story from the first page. Clovis Honeybun is on the job trying to protect his uncle, the senator, when he comes across disgraced US Marshall Emma Banks with his primary suspect. Clovis, in essence, goes rogue, as is typical Honeybun fashion, to not only solve his case, but also get the girl. This basis set up a story filled with action. If you are looking for a book with more romance than action, this is not the book for you. While Ms. Cheever includes romance, this installment of Honeybun hunks gives plenty of action. It includes car chases, swamp rescues, kidnapping, assassination attempts, murder, fast boats, and much more. I must admit that every time I thought I had the plot figured out, Ms. Cheever threw in another twist. What I liked most in this book was the update on the other Honeybun hunks: Warwicke (Fabiana), Alastair (Angie), Heathcliffe (Nita), Edric (Bella & Baby Matilda), Percy (Brita), Alfric (Pleasance), Godric (Chandini), as well as mom and dad Honeybun. The family bond established in the first six books is reinforced in this book when the brothers, their significant others, cousins and parents step in to help to not only save Clovis and Emma, but also their uncle. While it is not necessary to read the books in the series in order, I recommend it since parts of subsequent books refer to events or persons from previous books - See more at: http://romancenovelsincolor.com/revie...
Could there be two more stubborn or more martyr-seeking for the other than these two? If so, I've never heard about them. I really wanted to face palm a couple of times!
This is a marvelous book filled with delightful characters. It is well-written, with a plot that doesn't stop. The suspense just keeps building until you're on the edge of your seat, dearly Hopi g for an HEA for these characters. This is an excellent addition to the Honeybun series. Start at volume one and follow the brothers through all their adventures.
Clovis, the former Marine, take charge of everything man has finally met his match. With more twists and turns than the meandering Ohio river, this book will not let you put it down until the final page has been turned. Several places in the story ratcheted my blood pressure up a few notches and, I'm not going to lie, I was in tears a couple of times! An excellent adventure with the Honeybun men! Breath taking as it was, I can't wait to get started on the next adventure!
The Honeybun series are so good, a story for each brother and the love of their life, though Clovis is a ex marine who do have a heart and when he meet Emma he realized that he wanted to be in a relationship, here's when the mystery comes into play, Emma's has a child involved which makes Clovis more interested, now he needs to save the child and the damsel in distress, I will suggest you read about the Honeybun family and their mystery adventure
This wasn't my favorite in the series. Good character in Emma, but Clovis could have been developed stronger. Even though has been minor character in previous books, i was hoping for something more in this one. Still good, just a little disappointed. Maybe in another book. On to the next...
He is my favorite Honeybun and Emma not so much. She had a reason to act the way she did her it was her daughter but that last fit was a bit much, but what a family glad they got Brick back on to Piracy story just hope that's not the end of the Honeybun series
Love me some Honeybun men. Once again a different Honeybun brother finds himself smitten with a young lady that seems to needs help. Honeybun family to the rescue. These men are a dream.

I received an ARC of Honeybun on the Run and was asked to give an honest review of it. And, honestly, I loved every single page of it. I could barely put it down. Honeybun on the Run is an action-packed, edge of your seat romance and it’s just what I’ve come to expect from Sam Cheever and her Honeybun hunks.
This story is full of twists and turns, and just when you think you have it all figured out, you realize that you’re merely scratching the surface. But, underneath it all, is a budding romance and a man who is stubborn enough to do what needs to be done, to do what’s right for the woman he loves and the child she’s fighting to protect, even if it costs him everything.
Clovis has some hard work to do to convince Emma to be with him, it seems almost as hard as fighting off the bad guys that are threatening him and his family. Luckily, he’s got that Honeybun charm that seems to flow through all of their veins. And once Emma finally faces her feelings, the results are guaranteed to be explosive. Emma has just as much fight in her though and she’s ready to go into battle right beside him. I think Clovis has definitely met his match. I can’t wait for the next installment of the Honeybun Hunks series. Sam Cheever has outdone herself once again!
What's a woman to do when her flesh and blood is being threatened?
Emma Banks is on the run. She's protecting the one person who stand between her and the safety of her child. But one run in with Clovis threatens all she's worked so hard for and her sanity.

Clovis Honeybun is undercover looking for the threat to Senator Brick Honeybun (his uncle). But his man is being protected by the beautiful Emma Banks, and Clovis is determined to understand why.

When the truth about Emma's involvement comes out the Honeybun's all gather to help protect her and rescue her child. But at what cost??
Clovis has probably been the most mysterious character throughout the series and I'm glad to see he got a woman he can't just walk all over. One that is probably just as stubborn and strong willed as he is. Even if she can be as mean as him momma =)
As far as I am concerned Sam Cheever has written another winner. This story covers Clovis Honeybun, a ex-marine who is undercover trying to find out who wants to assassinate his Uncle (Brick Honeybun) and his love interest (Emma Banks) who is an ex-marshal who is being blackmailed and is trying to find and save her abducted 5yr old daughter. The story-line and plots are well thought out, and the characters are impressive and engaging with depth and personalty according to their needs and desires. What you will find in this story is a spectacular good story-line, drama, intrigue, suspense, danger, abduction, guns blazing, life threatening incidents, camaraderie, humor, spiraling emotions, sensual romance and the Honeybun brothers standing together. I would recommend this book to people that love to read a extremely good mystery/suspense romance with a HEA.
Clovis has been the surliest of the Honeybun brothers. The no non-sense marine. But Emma brings out another side of him. Together Emma and Clovis must work together to solve a mystery and save a little girl. Once again the Honeybun clan comes to the rescue. Another great tale with passion, loyalty, mystery and suspense. And of course comedy with the Honeybun clan. Clovis has finally met his match!
I was wondering about when this tough marine was going to find love, and what type of women it would have to be. Now I know. You will have to read this book to find out. 16+
