Interesting overarching plot progression woven into some fun cases. It's always nice to have a flashback case every now and then to switch it up from the Conan driven narrative. Again, it's good stuff, but somewhat forgettable when paired up against the series as a whole.

Things are picking up again. Loved the tea chemistry lesson, and to see the differences between Japan and gaijin countries (though I didn’t appreciate the slight against “German-looking guy”). And what’s up with Bourbon and the FBIdiots?

3.8/4 (iyak, suka rempong mauk kasih bintang :D)
the perk of being a long-life manga artist: bisa bikin cerita sesuka hati, mau dia bilang kalau kasus di akurium itu adalah rangkaian peristiwa yang pada akhirnya membawa Sinichi & Ran ke Tropical Land kek, sekehendak Aoyama laaa ;'( Gitu kan sekehendak penulisnya mau flashback segala. Btw Ran bilang udah hampir setaun gak ketemu Sinichi, kok kayaknya berasa lammaaaaa banggeet *pukpuk Ran* seperti biasa kalo udah ada Sinichi & Ran mah yaudah aja langsung tandain jadi scene favorit.
Berlanjut ke kasus kedua. Kasus yang penting nggak penting sih, yaitu nebak lagu favoritnya Ai *hiyaaa*. Tapi lucu juga melihat solidaritas anggota detektif cilik yang perempuan (iyah, waktu Ayumi jerit heboh waktu Ai mau bocorin lagu favo nya, padahal Ayumi udah dibekalin alat penyadap sama Conan xD. Di sini juga sekalian ada kasus di festical layang-layang di mana ada peserta yang tercebur ke sungai *iyak, ini kasusnya kag penting, tapih akuh berhasil agak peka dikit sama kasus yang kaga penting di sini :D*
Kembali ke Kogoro Mouri yang mendapa kabar kalau Eri dirawat di rumah sakit karena usus buntu (mencoba detail ala Conan/Sinichi). Iyap, akhir-akhir ini Conan suka nyerocos kasih analisis ini-itu, khawatir terlihat too old for that physical appearance nggak sih? *cemas*. Ada sekelompok wanita (mereka bersahabat, ceritanya jenguk sahabatnya yang sakit sambil mengadakan jamuan teh di rumah sakit *please deh*. Kemudian ada satu orang yang kehilangan nyawanya akibat keracunan setelah minum teh. Saat di rumah sakit ini Conan bertemu dengan Amuro yang ternyata tengah mencari berita tentang pasien bernama Rikumichi Kusuda *itu loh ada di bagian Rena Mizunashi itu deeh pokoknya no. 70an sekian*. Akhirnya Amuro ikutan nimbrung analisis kasus.
Terakhir, ini yang seruuu. Amuro ketemu dengan agen FBI : Jodie & Camel karena temannya bu Jodie diserang setelah ngobrol di telepon dengan bu Jodie. Eh nggak taunya temannya itu minta tolong Amuro karena ia merasa dibuntuti, jadi Amuro disuruh menyelidiki. Terus segala Amuro bahas negara Jepangku, ada istilah Zero segala, Amuro yang flashback ke masa kecil, Camel yang emotionally kepancing. Hiii, selanjutnya nggak mau berspekulasi karena takut patah hatii :D

General Synopsis:
As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻

DO NOT click on the spoiler link if you don't want to read all the cases in this volume, because it will ruin it for you. On the other hand, if you're a fan like me or are looking for a certain case (and please note, these are how I have set the cases), etc. click away, that's why it's there.
Another spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.

Personal Opinion:
#1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!

This volume picks up on the case that was left you halfway through the case in volume 83. The case is about a murder at the aquarium and is a flashback story. The end of the story shoots us to the present, but it was a fun story of Jimmy and Rachel from back in the day. The next case involves the Junior Detectives are enjoying flying a kite to help promote their detective work.... when trouble erupts! Attempted murder...or accident??? Detective Conan is on the case and has a theory immediately upon witnessing the incident. The next case occurs when Detective Moore rushes to the hospital to check on his wife's emergency surgery and meets up with Rachel, Conan and then Amuro (A.K.A. Bourbon)! When they hear screaming, they rush into a murder scene! The next case involves an elementary school teacher who is pushed down some steps. Out of nowhere Amuro is involved AGAIN!?! This story is "sort of" concluded in this volume...but it feels like more is left unsaid when this volume ends, so if you want resolution, you'll tune into volume #84 of Case Closed!

Caso flashback dell’Acquario di Beika: molto carino, bello vedere per una volta Shinichi effettivamente alla sua età di liceale e risolvere un caso. Bella la similitudine tra il fiuto di detective e quello dello squalo.
Caso dell’ospedale e del the avvelenato: niente di speciale però torna Amuro/Bourbon, che sta investigando su Rikumichi Kusuda, membro dell’organizzazione scomparso, usato da Akai per inscenare la sua morte, seguendo il piano di Conan. Inoltre scopriamo che il nome in codice di Amuro è ZERO, nome che indica anche l’ufficio di pubblica sicurezza giapponese. Può essere che Conan si sia sbagliato sul suo conto?
Caso dell’insegnante aggredita: Amuro incontra Conan insieme a Camel e Jodie e grazie ad uno stratagemma di Vermouth, riesce a farsi dire il destino di Kusuda, fornendo ad Amuro proprio l’informazione che cercava. Scrivere di cosi’ tanta trama orizzontale su DC è come la venuta dell’anno bisestile ogni 4 anni!

Oh, wow! The shading in this volume really stepped up a notch. It feels like they’re using a special computer program for the first few pages, or maybe it’s the colored version Aoyama mentioned in celebration of Case Closed's 20th anniversary! Either way, it’s refreshing to see, and it gives the manga an extra polish.
As for the cases in this volume, while some are definitely ridiculous, they still manage to be quite amusing. The real highlight for me was the intrigue surrounding Bourbon. His character has become so fascinating, and I’m eager to learn more about his true intentions and backstory. There’s a lot of mystery around whose side he’s really on, and that’s kept me hooked so far.
I just hope the storyline doesn’t drag out too long. If Aoyama can keep the pacing tight, this arc could be a real standout.
As for the cases in this volume, while some are definitely ridiculous, they still manage to be quite amusing. The real highlight for me was the intrigue surrounding Bourbon. The sad thing with manga translations is: you wait months until the next volume releases and then you read the entire volume in one day. Now I need to wait until January for the next one. To know the US is about 20 volumes behind Japan is sad; but I also know if we catch up, we have to wait longer for volume releases. I can deal with the release schedule, but it doesn’t help also knowing the one case I loved watching the anime episodes of is two years (or was it 3 hears?) away from hitting my bookshelves. I want moar! Lol

Oke-oke. Bintang 5 deh buat volume satu ini. Seru soalnya!
Cerita disini punya hubungan dengan Organisasi Baja (?) Hitam. Aku fans awam nya Conan. Aku ga terlalu ngikutin soal Organisasi yang ngejar ngejar dia. Tapi aku tau yaa sedikit informasi tentang hal ini. Dan ternyata.. Wow, seru juga, ya?
Ditambah pembunuhan dengan perubahan kimia pada teh, dan sabotase melalui rekaman video yang super menarik. Jujur, untuk yang bagian lagu yang disukai Ai, ga seseru itu. Tapi gapapa, yang lain udah seru banget, bisa membayar rasa bosan untuk cerita yang itu di volume satu ini.
Cerita disini punya hubungan dengan Organisasi Baja (?) Hitam. Aku fans awam nya Conan. Aku ga terlalu ngikutin soal Organisasi yang ngejar ngejar dia. Tapi aku tau yaa sedikit informasi tentang hal ini. Dan ternyata.. Wow, seru juga, ya?

Volume splendido!
Una super prima storia con un flashback con Shinichi. È stata decisamente un’ottima idea per festeggiare il 20esimo anniversario (2014)!
Nuova storia con i bambini molto carina, il “segreto” di Ai e il tentativo di Conan di scoprirlo sono stati molto divertenti.
E poi due casi con Bourbon che fanno immaginare che stiamo per vederne delle belle. Molto interessante il confronto con Camel e ‘Jodie’.

AQUARIUM SECRETS: A MURDER IN PLAIN SIGHT
During a visit to Beika Aquarium with the Detective Boys, Ran recalls a past visit with Shinichi. As Conan reflects on the same memory, he remembers the chilling moment when Shinichi spotted a corpse sitting against the aquarium wall. After receiving a call from Jodie, the teacher is found unconscious at the bottom of a staircase. The police uncover three suspects through her call history, but the attacker’s identity remains shrouded in mystery as Conan and Amuro close in on the truth.

Lanjutan kasus kenangan di akuarium. Wahhhh, Shinichi walaupun orangnya cuek dan menyebalkan ternyata sayang sekali ya sama Ran.
Kasus kedua terjadi saat lomba layangan. Yang namanya detektif ya, sepertinya selalu ada bukti yang dia gunakan untuk menjerat si pelaku. Padahal kalau dipikir-pikir, bukti di kasus kali ini benar-benar terjadi secara kebetulan.
Kasus ketiga terjadi saat acara minum teh di rumah sakit. Kebetulan ini adalah rumah sakit yang sama tempat kasus presenter tv yang terkait dengan anggota kawanan berjubah hitam. Jadi yaah, ada Amuro juga di sini. Btw, kasus teh ini walaupun sederhana, tapi cukup mengerikan. Sedikit memberikan pelajaran kalau jadi orang itu jangan terlalu egois. Kadang masalah yang kita anggap sepele belum tentu dianggap sepele juga oleh orang lain.
Kasus keempat juga terjadi karena perbedaan batasan tentang "masalah sepele". Well, kalau dilihat dari sudut pandang orang luar memang sepele sih. Tapi dari sudut pandang orang yang dirugikan, masalah itu sama sekali tidak sepele.
Btw, endingnya membuat penasaran. Ada tanda-tanda bahwa organisasi berjubah hitam akhirnya mendapatkan informasi yang selama ini mereka cari. Jadi tidak sabar menunggu volume berikutnya. Semoga tidak terlalu lama.

Suka dengan edisi ini karena ada tambahan puzzle mengenai organisasi baju hitam. Dan feeling saya sih, Bourbon sebenarnya orang baik. but who knows?
