Rate this book
The Hells Vipers have a rat. Someone is giving out personal information to a rival club, and the rivalry has now turned deadly. Not only are club members being targeted; their families are in the cross-hairs as well.

Nuke, the Road Captain for the Hells Vipers, has a reputation for being a little crazy and a force to be reckoned with. At 6'3" he's a blonde, tatooed, muscular fighting machine that does what he wants when he wants, and he only wants two things: to find the snitch and possess Jasmine's heart, body and soul.

Jasmine Simmons is a nurse who gets caught up in the chaotic world of the Hells Vipers after doing a friend a favor. She’s never met anyone like Nuke before, and she starts to find him irresistible.

She soon realizes, however, that she might be in way over her head when the threats against the club take aim at her.

I received this ARC in exchange of an honest review. The Hell's Vipers are at war with a rival, club and the situation is spinning out of control. Loved ones are being put in the crossfire, and it's possibly an inside job. In the middle of this chaos Nuke meets cute civilian Jasmine and unexpected chemistry from these complete opposites develop. She might not fit into his crazy biker world under ideal circumstances, let alone in the midst of Crisis Mode 2000.

I was extremely pleased by this book, and also extremely bothered at various times. Sometimes it was intentional, and others not so much. This one I had to breakdown, in order to explain my eventual rating (that last star was hard to give).

The Good
1. Nuke was an awesome, sexy alpha hero. Even his flaws better served this story.
2. I loved most of the club, brother interactions, and grit of the story telling. I like the rougher MC storylines, and this delivered that well.
3. I loved how unlikable Cindy was at times, but still engaging at others. The B story was just as compelling in its own way.
4. My other favorite theme besides outlaw motorcycle clubs, is Interracial Romance. It’s not that common, but love when these two come together. This actually does a pretty good job of combining those unlikely worlds.
5. For the most part I found dialogue and situations very believable.
6. This is BDSMish, which I liked, but unsure how it will play with the sticklers for lifestyle realness.
7. Though an erotic read, I really believed the emotional connection of Jasmine and Nuke as well.

The Bad
1. At first Jasmine is presented as insecure because of her size, but then compared to Sanaa Lathan, who might be a 5. I found this pretty confusing.
2. There is this scene between one of the brothers Pipe, and Jasmine that dinged all my colorism issues on 10. It made sense that a guy from his background could be this ignorant. On the other hand, Jasmine lost a bit of my respect when she justified her pretty by acknowledging “some Indian” (not Native American) in her background. This is what almost lost the star. I kept it because it was a realistic conversation someone would have, just not one a friend of mine would entertain.

Final Thoughts
This is an action packed book that easily kept me invested despite a few bumps in the road. Despite my Jasmine hiccup, I will definitely continue with this series.

This was one of those books that I couldn't put down but then couldn't decide if I liked it or not. I realized I really liked the way the author wrote the love story between Nuke and Jasmine, an interracial couple. She really hit all of the normal prejudices on both race sides and did it effectively. I think she succeeded in showing most normal people don't really look at color so much theses days but the ones that do can be very repulsive and violent. Nuke is into the BDSM and we find Jasmine likes to be a submissive. The BDSM got a little hard core and for some reason I felt just a little uncomfortable with the way it was written in some places. The book had a lot of hot, regular sex scenes. I liked Nuke and Jasmine's love story. Nuke doesn't cheat and there is a HEA. I wouldn't one click this book because I thought and still do that $4.99 for 151 pages is way to expensive for a first time author. Luckily a friend loaned it to me.

This book wasn't bad. The author has a lot of potential. However it is not worth $4.99 for aprox. 151 pages especially when you compare it to a more established author in this genre ie Madeline Sheehan's last book is $3.99 and 255 pages.

This book ended up being a 2.5. The beginning was odd because it didn't start out with the main couple and things were a little hard to believe. There was a lot of eye rolling for me and I almost stopped reading. I usually stop reading books where a woman is scared or mad but can't get over being horny for a guy but I saw it had some BDSM in it so I couldn't help but see what type of trainwreck it could be. It ended up being quite comical. There was a lot of BDSM scenes where it seems it was the case of the author doing a little research and putting it in the book to add some spice. She did add a little more of the D/s side than most authors that do the same thing. It really annoyed me that every "command" he gave her ended in an exclamation point. Doms don't have to yell "Sit!, "Crawl!", "Come here!". It gives a bad impression. Throughout the whole story, there were too many exclamation points even in regular conversation. I say the BDSM was comical because some of it just couldn't happen, it was over the top even for a book. Everything you can think of was in there. The writing was a little choppy and didn't necessarily flow.

Also, this was an interracial book. It doesn't show that on the cover. The people on the cover do not represent who was described in the book. The female character was African American so it kind of bugged me that there isn't an African American on the cover.

All in all, it was still an enjoyable read even with the eye rolls and the "Oh goodness, really?" that came from me. Just don't look for anything really serious or original.

I really wanted to like this one, but there were issues that kept me from loving it. There were editing hiccups and every part of the plot was glossed over and rushed. It would have been great if there was more background given for the characters. I don't mind insta-lust so much, it's the fact that the sexual relationship between Jasmine & Nuke is so intense that I would have liked there to have been some build up. Even with the issues I had with the story, I will probably read the next book in hopes that it will have more to it. The characters are interesting and I would like to get the stories of some of the other brothers, especially Kevin, who has his own troubled story that could be told. Full review to come.

DNF skimmed to the end as I couldn't stand to honestly finish reading this horrible book fully.

The men are psycho. The "bdsm" is ridiculous, its more like abuse. And beer bottle sex????? That reminded me of the story with Nash and Cash.

Jasmine is cray cray if she thinks what her and Nuke have is love. He's more like a stalker bf who won't leave or let you leave even when you try or kick him out. Jasmine would know... That happened many times.

Yeah no this one didn't work for me. All those things that authors usually try and push under the rug with the fantasy world of being in love with an MC guy kinda got ignored here and we were just supposed to be like oh yeah all thats alright...I was just so unattracted to him it's clear I won't ever in real life dabble with an MC guy lol at least this book saved me that LOL but yeah overall all the characters were flat and boring and I stopped two chapters in.

I thought I was pretty much over MC romance novels. They tend to click too many of my 'hell-to-the-no' womanist buttons what with their 'ownership' and 'property' attitude toward women for me to be able to easily enjoy them as just fiction. Additionally this is a BDSM novel so the D/s aspect adds a whole other dimension. By all rights I should not be fine with this book at all.

But I enjoyed the ever loving hell out of it. I think the intensity of the main relationship, the interesting plot and the strength of the storytelling worked to offset some of my mental triggers.

The story actually follow two separate relationships: One that is just beginning and flourishes throughout the book and the other that is at the end and we witness the destructive aftermath and consequences of it's ending.

Jasmine and Nuke are the main A-plot couple. Nuke is an interesting character. Intense as all hell, Alpha as all hell and crazy. He actually has psych eval to back that character trait up. But he is smart as a whip, deep as an ocean, well read, and falls in love with Jasmine in a way that the reader is never in doubt about his feelings. I should hate Nuke. But I didn't. I liked him. He puts all out there. He isn't some closed off broody hero. He says what he expects from Jasmine. He communicates.

I also liked Jasmine but thought she wasn't as interesting as Nuke. Actually I thought she came to grips with what it meant being the "old Lady' of an MC way too easily for a person who was essentially a civilian with no exposure to the life outside of Sons of Anarchy. Sure she had doubts. In fact the depiction of how her early fascination/fetishization of the bad-boy biker morphed to dawning horror as the reality set in when Nuke explained what he really was during their first date was well done. She liked him, she wanted him but she throttled back realistically when he told her some truths. But that all went by the wayside after he kissed her and they got to boning.

But the author gave them an interesting, involved and intense relationship that I enjoyed reading about (hard-core BDSM sex scenes aside). You come to realize they are a great fit for each other. They seemed like a more hardcore, extreme version of Kevin and Vee from the tv show Shameless.

The other couple was Kevin and Cindy. As the book begins they are broken up because Kevin cheated on Cindy with one the hordes of females that are seen as available pussy to the bikers. Cindy is mad and bitter. A lot of the external conflict that affects Jasmine/Nuke is because of the Cindy/Kevin fallout. Jasmine is Cindy's friend and Cindy repeatedly tries to warn Jasmine that Nuke is bad news.

I loved how complex the author made Cindy. On the one hand she was eaten alive with envy as she watched her friend have the sort of relationship with Nuke that she never had with Kevin. On the other hand she actually dropped some real words of wisdom the Jasmine. The problem is that her words were always filtered through her own bitterness so it was difficult to know if she was being sincere or if she was just letting her envy talk. I think it was a bit of both.

I also got the impression that Kevin had authentic feelings for Cindy, it just wasn't in him to be faithful. And Cindy exacerbated it be criticizing the biker lifestyle.

It almost felt like a theme for the two couples was to understand the person you are with and not try to change them into someone else. Jasmine and Nuke largely succeed because Jasmine embraces this concept and lets Nuke just be Nuke. Cindy, otoh, fails because she is constantly trying to remake Kevin into something else disregarding what the club means to him and how much it is a part of his identity.

There is a larger plot about a feud between the Hells Vipers and a rival MC that acts as both a backdrop to the two relationship plots and as an element of conflict for both. With the state of both relationships and the feud coming to a head at the end of the book.

I thought the last scene of the book, between Kevin and Cindy, was very well constructed and ended the book just right.

I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed this book. The beginning is a bit confusing because it seems like there should have been a book before this one with all the back story, it also started not with our main characters but with some side characters. Kevin(MC name unknown) shows up at his ex-girlfriends house in the middle of the night because there is a snitch in the club that has been giving out information on club members and there loved ones. Driven by his feelings for her and worry that she could be targeted he moves her to the club house for protection.

Cindy is one of those characters that you instantly dislike, you try to like her after hearing about how Kevin cheated on her and how she found out but it doesn't really stick. From the get go she wines to Kevin about how he should leave the club and how much better he is than that life style, but we all know that you can't really change a man and when they had first dated he was up front about who he was.

Nuke and Jasmine meet when Cindy asks her to take a look at his shoulder, instant flirting and spark ensues. Nuke and Jasmine's relationship quickly develops, though with all the pressure and danger at the club he refuses to bring Jasmine around until it's safe and they find the snitch. Meanwhile Kevin try's and fails to reconcile his relationship with Cindy. She in turn is a bit delusional and spreads her venom in attempt to break apart Jasmine and Nuke.

There are a few twists added into the book and when the snitch is reviled it's one of those moments when you think you should be shocked but your not. This book is Great as a stand alone but the story with Nuke and Cindy also continues in the second book, not sure if I'll read it or not but this book is definitely at 4 Stars!

I'm not 100% sure its "abuse as romance" is a very fine line and there was actually no romance. I understand the BDSM part, the "kinky" sex but... its just sad, its degrading in many regards, how the main female character has basically no backbone, no self esteem, no personality at all.
Plus she being a nurse and mentioning SOA... uh? why not throw in a mention of some leather pants.

I felt really bad for Cindy, the character didnt come out as a bitch but as damaged and confused. I felt really sad when the book was trying to frame her as just baggage and drama, even if she wanted something better, I think the character felt justified. I'm not going to continue reading this series or gonna end this book, I wanted Kevin to face the consequences of his treatment of cindy.

I think it had promise in that regard, but they just didnt explore it.

4 stars. Love Nuke, he was an Alpha to the "T". Interracial Romance, love it. It was keeping on the edge of my chair, wondering OMG, what is going to happen, or NO, don't believe it. Yes, I do talk to the Kindle if they are listening. Cheers

Let me first say that I adored the loyalty and love that Jasmine and Nuke have for one another. While I absolutely loved theALPHA maleness of Nuke, I just couldn't get into the love scenes. It's was a little too much BDSM for me.

Wow, this book packs a punch! This gave me everything I needed and I could not stop reading it. Each and every chapter continued to suck me into the story. I did not get bored at all!

This was the story of Nuke (Road Captain of the Hells Viper Motorcycle club, alpha-alpha male, dominant) and Jasmine (Licensed nurse, 'friend' of Cindy). Nuke and Jasmine have a connection when they meet and they just fit each other. They are from two different worlds: Nuke is white, he's an outlaw and is into some dangerous things. Jasmine is African American, she's a nurse and wants some excitement. While Nuke and his MC try to find a snitch in their club, Nuke wants to get closer to Jasmine.

Nuke and Jasmine were a perfect couple. They were into the same kind of kink, which was so hot!! Nuke was so open and honest with Jasmine. He spelled out everything to her about their relationship and refused to give her up. He was a true dominant, alpha-alpha male who would do anything to protect Jasmine. Jasmine, who enjoyed being submissive and controlled by Nuke was so strong. She wanted to get away from boring and found the courage and trust in herself and Luke in order to try something different (BDSM, dating a biker).

This book had everything I was looking for: Hot bikers, action, drama, BDSM, dirty talk, spanking, dominance, possessiveness, violence, etc. I enjoyed the way the chapters were labeled. The book is told through several different point of views. This also kept me engaged.

Unfortunately, this is the only book listed for Ices Sheer (boo hiss). I would love to read any future books by the author. I'm secretly hoping this becomes a MC series to keep this going!

Why Not 5 Stars?
I wanted more! While I enjoyed the final chapter, I would have loved it more if it contained a true epilogue. I wanted more information on what happened after the fact between Nuke and Jasmine. Did they ? I also wanted updates on some of the other HV members: Mitch, Pipe, that prospect There is so much potential to extend this into a series. I loved this book. I would read it again. I want MORE!!!

4.00 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was totally drawn into the love story of Jasmine Simmons and Jason "Nuke" Stuart. The author introduced two appealing protagonists a strong, intelligent, resourceful Jasmine with submissive sexual impulses and a loyal, attentive, forceful, aggressive, dominate alpha in Nuke. In addition, the supporting characters were developed in ways that enhanced the storyline which centered around the couple's love story and mayhem and crimes of warring motorcycle clubs. Hell's Vipers MC where Nuke is the Road Captain is at war with another MC spawned by the betrayal of a close associate of the Hell's Vipers Motorcycle Club. Nuke is having problems with his injured shoulder, so Jasmine's best friend, Cindy, who has a dysfunctional relationship with one Nuke's fellow MC members brings Nuke to Jasmine, an LPN for help. This is how they meet and their romance began. Aside from the noise of the violence of club war, race bating, betrayal, murder and jealousy, there is also humor. Nuke and Jasmine and certain of the other club member render LOL zingers. Great Read!

This author has himself a new fan. I received this book for author review. I was roped in right from the beginning and although I’ve never previously been a big fan of bikers or their stories, this book was just as entertaining, enthralling and dangerous as any street novel I’ve read previously. The character development was great and I found myself liking Nuke although I didn’t originally think I would. The relationship between Nuke and Jasmine was intricate and bordered on a dominant/subservient situation; however, as they fell in love, I was more intrigued by their bond than surprised. The back story of the biker club rivalry and other key characters was enough to keep you interested at every turn. When it ended, I wasn’t ready. I’m definitely looking forward to the sequel and other books from this author. Great job

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love MC books and Hell's Viper's did not disappoint. I really liked the characters created in this book (even the one I hated...Cindy!). You can't help but fall for Nuke. That crazy, tatted biker is wonderful! The other boys Pipe & Kevin have me intrigued as well. I'm hoping we might get to learn more about them in another book???
I found Jasmine to be a really relatable character. She is someone who was so bored with her life, a little self conscious about her body and then in walks this breathe of fresh air. The relationship between Nuke & Jasmine is intense right from the beginning. And the sex? Explosive!!
In some other MC books I have found myself lost or confused about all the different story lines & club affiliations. That was not the case here, I liked the way this story was written.

FREAKING FANTASTIC!!!

This was a definite five star. However I feel obligated to forewarn all the Blushing Book fans that this isn't your typical domestic discipline story. In fact, the discipline and kink are there, but they take a backseat to the actual plot.

If you are an MC junky this book is for you. The main point of the story revolves around a budding interracial relationship (wm/bw). The couple meet via her friend and the romance starts while the MC is at war. You follow several different members, however the main focus is the couple and the drama unfolding. There is a snitch, fights, racism, hot sex and a HEA!

Although the book reads as a standalone, it could easily become a series. GREAT JOB ICES SHEER!

This was an intense book! There is D/s in the story, but it is mainly about a motorcycle gang, Hells Vipers, that deal drugs, murder, etc. If you love the TV series, Sons of Anarchy, this is the story for you! This is the story of Nuke and Jasmine. Nuke is a Road Captain of the gang, which means that he is pretty high up in the gang. Jasmine is a LPN who is introduced to Nuke by Cindy, who definitely has a lot of problems! Nuke and Jasmine get together, but there are problems because he is a white male and she is a black female. There is racism in this story. The gang is very male dominant. Women are more belongings than they are partners. This is a good book, but beware, it is not for the faint hearted! I give this 4 stars.
