Loved the smexy lingerie, the GFY (straight cop falling for his gay partner), the slow buildup and tension, and the hawt, lucious sex scene at the end; the alternating POVs helped me understand both Mase, a closeted gay man who's been trying not to lust after his straight partner, and Tom, who can't stop thinking about Mase wearing thigh-high fuck-me boots and red panties.
But the ending about killed it for me. It was so damn abrupt. For how slow the buildup was, we needed a longer denouement. The story here ends when the sex ends. There is nothing more about how the guys are going to make their new relationship work, how their other cop friends (relatively central to the story) will accept them, NOTHING.
So disappointing. One more chapter would have made a big difference.

Delicious...
Steamy gfy with a touch of kink.
Tom's initial overreaction irritated me, but once that was dealt with, his reaction to Mason's kink was everything I hoped for from this prompt.
Mason's strength was beautifully shown and his desire to be submissive was a nice touch.
My only grievance was the abrupt ending. It was a lovely beginning of something new, though :)

The good thing, the author took the prompt SERIOUSLY and it was really good. The shock, the inner struggle, the tension between the two men was palpable and well-written.
However, the loooooong sex scene in the end (it took about 1/4 of the story) was too much for my liking. Then the abrupt ending!! It took out all the wonderful tension. I would love it better if it the sex scene was a bit shorter, and then we got some sort of a glimpse of the next day, on how the two men worked out this new development of their relationship.

Just 3 stars because WTF was that ending?
I loved it right up until it just freaking finished - I'll happily up the stars in the event of a sequel or rewrite, because damn, that was an abrupt ending!
Where was the discussion about anything? Not even HFN because I have no clue how it would carry on - the working together, coming out, having a relationship if it's not just a one night stand - NO-ONE TOLD ME! I need resolution - up until then it was great, the lingerie kink was lovingly described, the fact that Tom checked out gay porn first, it took a few weeks to get it on, not rushed and sudden but then the abrupt ending. Sheesh. Let me down mightily.

This was so hot and I was really enjoying it, and then it ended kind of abruptly. This could have been a great 4 star read, but I needed more. The slow build had me really excited and I thought this was going to have a really nice ending, so I was let down.

Sexy and short, this is a well written quick read, with just the right amount of tension and angst. This is told with a dual POV, which works well for this story. Our MCs, Mason and Tom are friends and police partners who's relationship change when Tom sees Mason wearing sexy lingerie and leather thigh high boots. The final scene between them is filled with sexual tension and is really hot. I adored Mason's confidence in this story.

Men with a lingerie kink always get my interest to read. It's kinda fun, and sexy.
This one was good in the beginning, but for a short story, I can't get anything from the two MCs, not to mention the 'conflict' between Tom Mase , except for the sex and a sudden interest in Tom for Mase.
I think Griff and Mase has more strong relationship compared to Tom and Mase. I need more of Tom and Mase.

A very hot story and I thought the angst both of the characters were experiencing was well written. Both Mason's somewhat hostile attitude and Tom's confusion and feeling of betrayal were believeable and it was great they had to work through things and not instantly fall into bed together.

Very much enjoyed this story. The story is in Tom's POV. He isn't aware but one night when he goes to his partner's house, his life was about to be flip inside-out. I liked how it wasn't instant. You got to see Tom struggle with everything he came to find out. It made him look at himself and others(especially Mason) differently.
Tom, who has a key to Mason's came over for a typical game night with the guys(from work). He thinks he hears a woman upstairs... what he walks into throws him completely off guard. Mason, holding a glass of wine, wearing knee high high heel boots, red-lace panties with stockings. Mason is flabbergasted and then becomes angry. It is his biggest secret, and his friend, his crush, is the one that finds out. Tom also finds out that Mason is gay.
Tom is angry that Mason didn't trust him enough to tell him. He isn't disgusted by it, in fact, the opposite. So we watch Tom come to terms with his new kink and his attraction towards Mason and see what happens between the two of them.
I would have LOVED an epilogue or a continuation.

Really enjoyed this one. The author did a great job with the prompt, and I liked how thoughtfully Mason's cross dressing was portrayed in the story. So much deliciousness: friends to lovers, cops falling for each other, and a well-written sex scene.
I personally have no problem with the ending. We leave Tom and Mase in a very happy, sexy moment. In a story this length, I don't necessarily want things wrapped up with an elaborate HEA. Plus, it sounds like Bette Browne might be writing more about these guys in the future. (Please?)

I think this is more than about their friends and coming out. I felt this was about how they came to terms with Tom's reaction to Mason's fetish and then his surprised reaction to being attracted to Mason that way.
The sex scene was incredibly erotic and sensual and completely free from the usual first time awkwardness. The writing was well done and if this author wanted to expand on this story, I would so buy it.

Yeah, I'd have liked more, it really is just a start...I might not be a police officer but I'm pretty sure sexual relationships between partners (MM/MF/FF) is not encouraged. These men have a world of questions awaiting them...but I did like what was there. I liked it ALOT!

A free short story from the Love's Landscape, Don't Read in the Closet 2014 event.
Damn...that was HOT! It took a little while to get started and I kind of wanted to hurry them along, but then when they finally get together it was worth it. I wanted an epilogue though, it just ended. Although reading the Acknowledgements, the author mentions her future plans on where she plans to take these guys...so I don't know if that means there might be a follow up? Yes please!!

OK, many have mentioned the abrupt ending and i have to agree.
But another part of the story did upset me extremely and I almost put this on the dnf pile. I'm talking about the "I'm your friend and you didn't trust me with telling me such an important part of your life". Sorry, but WTF!?!?! I hate this, in every book. Also if we are talking police or army or whichever teamwork things. Is there a problem if a hetero guy does not tell he's into big boobs or some kink? No. So why is being gay such a deal breaker?!? Because it isn't!!!

I loved the way Tom took the time to touch Mase. How he ran his hands across and under the panties, caressing the skin between the fabric of the stockings. The way he unzipped and removed those boots. Kissing Mase's calf as it lay across his shoulder. Gawd. So fucking hot.
At first I wanted Mase to be wearing all that fluff under his clothes but then I realized that wouldn't be practical...heaven forbid he were injured in the line of duty and taken to the hospital where his suit would likely be cut off. No, special occasions would be make it a more sensual experience, too. Where he could really just relax and be himself.
I only wish there were more.

Liked both characters but can't say I felt a connection for either of them. I absolutely loved the manties but I wanted more of it. Didn't mind the writing to start off with but towards the end things sounded a little too repetitive when describing how Mase was not feminine. The story could have done with a few extra chapters to add more detail about the development of their relationship. An okay read that had heaps of potential.

I liked this but I think there was a whole lotta lead up/angst, not enough manties and very little payoff. Another couple of chapters would've taken it to the next level and it looked like they were headed into playing around with power games. *growls* Still, the garters, heels and red lace is an automatic 3 stars from me.

Reactions are probably fitting, though there was a strange sense of entitlement to knowing and I found it hard to believe he'd be caught like that forgetting a regular long standing arrangement. The sex scene came about too sudden, that's a big change of attitude that's not discussed between them so felt off.

3.5 stars. I loved the build-up in this one, no insta-love here thankfully, even though it's short, but I was disappointed with the ending. It was very abrupt, and the secondary characters, who were all a big part of this story, just disappeared as well. No discussion/decision on the MCs' future together or what happened with their friends/co-workers.
