Battlefield Diplomacy #2

Battlefield Diplomacy 2

Rate this book
Sometimes diplomacy starts with a handshake. Other times, it starts with a breaching charge.

Matt Whitaker is a soldier, not a diplomat. He's also the only human who can track like an alien Oniki.

And the Oniki need Whitaker once again... this time for more than who he can find, shoot, or kill.

They need an emissary.

Rumors have surfaced of survivors from a long-ago purge. The Oniki government wants them found, but the Dodeci colony would just as soon stay lost.

Then a radical faction emerges, one that wants the old ways back and the Dodeci destroyed.

Whitaker's find the Dodeci, and take down anyone standing in the way.

Every step toward rescue is a step deeper into enemy crosshairs.

No backup. No second chances.

Just Whitaker, his team, and a fight to keep history from repeating itself.

The first book in this extraordinary series introduced us to the Oniki, an alien race somehow moving in closer in cooperation with the humans despite the huge physical and intellectual differences.
That is to say, after the war between them ended.
In Battlefield Diplomacy 2 the biggest question remains whether peace has indeed been achieved in a meaningful way.
However, there is a heck of a lot more to discover about the Oniki than anybody knew. Such as why the Oniki seems to have reached a kind of plateau in their development.
A growing faction of the Oniki wants to regain past stature and also have humankind extinguished.
Can the growing friendship of Matt Whitaker ( and Dee) with Charlie really hold the key to keeping the peace?
This is but the niggling voices of caution that author LL Richman develops into explosive revelations about the little known nature of the Oniki. One where a secret faction of the Oniki had been banished and thought to have been vanguished but may have survived after all.
Author LL Richman is a formidable Sci-fi writer with books sparkling with originality, plots that keep fingers paging books frantically and keeping readers fully immersed and enthralled with every single book she publishes. Battlefield Diplomacy included.
Enjoy

BATTLEFIELD DIPLOMACY Book 2: LOST COLONY is a great story with fabulous Terran and alien characters, dialogue, and interaction!  Tight, complex plotting for an exciting tale of intrigue along with imaginative, well-thought out futuristic science and, of course, battles.
I also absolutely loved the list of Principal Characters and the brief introduction section called “Previously!”  The author clearly & concisely reminded the reader of what went before in Book 1 while building anticipation for Book 2.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book with no strings attached.

Another triumph.

Great SciFi with good stories that have believable science, great plots and really good characterisation. As a former soldier I find most ‘military’ SciFi really annoying as the writers are incapable of believable characters but Lisa’s characters are spot on.

I love the aliens as well, very well done as something very different and well ‘alien’

I just didn’t really get on with it. The first one was fine, but this didn’t click for me in the same way. I ploughed on for a while but it was a lost cause.
