Camila Burke is living her best single life. Her last relationship ended unexpectedly. Since then, she has been enjoying a multitude of suitors. A chance meeting between her best friend and the brother of the man that broke her heart brings him back into her life. A chance to use her newly acquired culinary degree leads her to look for work at her ex’s family’s catering hall—one of the most renowned businesses in Parkchester.
Graham Thomas gave up the love of his life to make his father happy by taking over the family business. A decision that ultimately left him miserable. He tried for years to replace Camila, but no one ever came close to her. Thanks to his brother and chance encounter with Camila’s best friend Gianna, Graham gets another opportunity to be in the presence of the woman he loved and lost all those years ago.
Will Graham be able to convince Camila to give him another chance? Has Camila truly healed, or will her past hold her back from finding true love?
I liked the story. I wasn't a huge fan of the voice. A few times, I skipped the scenes that seemed repetitive. Overall, I liked the couple and the story, I did not love it. I'll keep an open eye for this author. Let's see how the writing progresses.
Graham and Camila met and fell in love in college but circumstances caused them to break up. Seven years later, Graham makes up his mind to go and get his woman back. The way that Graham comes at Camila is well-thought out and shows that he has grown in his love for her. His determination to let nothing or no one come between them is overshadowed by Camila's apprehensions. I was relieved when she realized that she was standing in her own way in getting her happily ever after. Graham's father got on my nerves with his interference, and I was glad he got put in his place. This was a really good second chance book that takes you on an emotional journey and has 🔥🔥🔥 love scenes. Great job Ms. Jones!!
Fairly predictable not true plot build up or character development.
Potential Spoiler
Guy breaks up with gurl bc parents don't like, several years later they are in the same place still have feelings. Parent still doesn't like Girl, issue in relationship.
Graham’s dad got on my nerves! Graham pissed me off too but he fought for the woman he wanted albeit 7 years later. However, he and Camila had grown from those college expenses and timing was everything.
Wow what a love story. Camila and Graham fell in love when they were in college. Parents don’t always know what is best. I am glad in the end true love prevailed.
3.5 ⭐️. First off loved the cover. Second chance romance. I’m usually not being on this trope. Especially if someone cheated so thank god this wasn’t that. This was a cute read. Some trials before they got it together but I enjoyed.
Short and cute. I liked the story. Cute second chance romance. I like my books a little more raunchy but I will give it a 4 for getting straight to the point and no slow burning.
This is a second chance romance at its finest. How do you fall in love in college and know that your person is your everything and would give you their everything only for you to have to choose between being happy or your career? & years past and you come face to face with what you walked away from just for all of the feeling to still be there and love to be present as well. The way Graham goes after Camila and lets her know that he wont make the same mistake twice!! It’s an emotional journey but Graham is fighting his way back into her life and wants his women. I hate how Grahams younger brother stood up to their father and got he happily ever after and with a women his father wouldn’t have wanted for his family just like Camila. His dad was a jerk and petty for something that had nothing to do with her. True love always prevails!!! That’s to the best friend and brother for stepping in and allow their friends to know that they are meant to be!
