"My name is Rylee and I am a Tracker."

When children go missing, and the Humans have no leads, I'm the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot.

After months of danger, running for my life, and dealing with one crisis after another, I'm finally getting that vacation I deserve.

I even get to take my favorite guardian with me for some serious one on one time.

Of course, when it comes to my life, even a vacation can turn ugly.

And when I say ugly, I mean monsters, magic and death. Just another day in the life of a Tracker.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I was born into a family of Star Wars nuts. I have a lot of siblings (somewhere I lost count but I think there was more than could be numbered on one hand) and being one of the young padawans I was subjected to Star Wars marathons, on a regular basis. If you've read any of my books you'll see there is often a reference to said movies as a small homage to my upbringing. May the force be with you and all that jazz.

I started writing when I realized I didn't want to grow up not believing in magic, or not believing in creatures everyone else said didn't exist. That being said, I have never seen a fairy, unicorn or dragon. I had a neighbour who swore they fed the leprechauns in their garden, but I never caught the little buggers no matter how long I lay in wait. (And consequently had to help the neighbours plant new flowers to replace those I killed waiting for the leprechauns to show their faces.)

Along the way, I found my husband who is the rock that keeps me from floating away into my dreams, and we have a little boy who is the centre of our world. Living on a farm keeps us busy (as if the writing wasn't enough) and I have more than my share of stories about wrestling with cows, helping birth calves and ending up in the creek during the process, falling in the mud (we'll call it mud but we all know that on a farm, mud is rarely mud) and chasing escaped livestock in the hopes the four legged convicts don't make it to the highway.

I've taken up archery, and the goal is to move into horseback archery in time (you know, when I can hit the target on a consistent basis) and when no one is looking, I love to bake (this doesn't happen often as it's hard to keep the sweet treats in stock with two boys in the house.)

As to what's coming next for me? More stories (since those never stop inside my head, I might as well share them with all of you!) and more adventures. Pretty much, when the fancy strikes, I'll jump on it. Leap before you look I'm sure that motto was created for me.

Or was that . . . think big and dream bigger, ready, set, pull the trigger . . . yeah. That one is a good one too. But only if you have a gun. And are hunting elephants. Which is not cool because of so many reasons. Let's stick with the first one with an addendum.

Leap before you look and let your dreams carry you on their wings. And that, my friends, is me in a nutshell.

I LOVED this! With every previous story I have always wished for more time for Rylee and Liam to be together. I crave it and often the story will have them split up. So when they take a vacation together, just the two of them, I knew I was going to love this. And I absolutely did. And not only was it action packed with a mystery and heartache, it was also sweet and romantic in a way that can only happen to Rylee. And it had such a huge reveal! I’m more terrified than ever for the future of our heroes. This is a MUST READ for fans of this series.

Warning: Guardian is a novella that should not be skipped if you are reading this series in order. One major event is revealed here!

I'm still annoyed with talk how it's prophesied that some characters are going to die. This is the second book that a lot of time is lost on that instead of action.

Quick read to find

Liam returns to the old wolf to find out truly what he is. Can't believe the news we find out about Rylee. But will it ever actually happen with evil coming and Liam's time running our? I hope so.

Nice Sweet Love Story

Rylee and Liam head to Russia so that Liam can learn to be the Guardian from Peter, who had a few lines during Riley's hunt through Europe for Liam in book three. Vacation time for Riley is never going to happen, as bad guys are everywhere. This book helps to resolve what happened when Liam went rogue. In the story I as a reader notice the that Mayer has learned to write the emotional quiet times that I need to form deeper connections with the characters and plot. Mayer's has grown as a writer with this series.

Now for spoilers, the time of the pale horse is fast approaching Liam. Liam uncovers a secret that Rylee doesn't even know she is carrying. Plus a secret ceremony happens at the end.

I knew from the first page I was going to love this series and it has become one of my favourites. I read it years ago and now I am leaving a review.
Rylee has the best and the worst job, to find those who are lost, the ones no one can find but it is not all sunshine and roses. Sometimes it will break your heart.
It is an intriguing, suspenseful, and mysterious thriller filled with tension. The story includes alliances, threats, betrayal, riddles, and plots, all infused with a touch of humour to keep the pages turning.

I really like rylee. She is one of my favorite characters. She is also one of the characters that spaked my interest in urban fantasy.. I can't wait to read the next book...

There is a Graphic Audio production of the whole Rylee Adamson Series, which includes 10 books of the series and five short stories. All this was included in my audible subscription. That's how I decided to listen to all the books and short stories. Otherwise it would have been pretty costly to listen to this production.

The first two short stories and book 1 and two were 3.5 and 4 stars. The rest of the series was a solid three stars rating.

At some point the story felt to drawn out but since I had passed the point of no return, where I just wanted to know who the stories ends I finished 15 Graphicaudio books. I think the story could have been shortened without loosing anything. From the beginning two things were predictable: One (and even more) person was Demon possessed and this person will die. And also there will be an Elemental involved, whom we meet again in book 9.

I liked Rylee and Mayer killed off some of the good guys. Two deaths were not really necessary and didn't feel right.

I would say this is a drawn out series, but okay, to listen for free in the graphic audio version. Stay away from the series if you tend to dnf series and hate it if the author kills beloved important side charcters.

I enjoyed this series, especially seeing how it intertwined with the Elemental Series. However, I'm not so sure my teenagers would enjoy it. There is a fair amount of language and gore that even I skipped through. In addition to that there are some sex scenes to skip over, and a few crude/lewd moments that I could have done without. I understood the language was a way of distinction with the Trackers in that world, and if it hadn't been for how well done the story was I don't think I would have finished the series.
I did appreciate the moral to the series, that love for family and friends really can help us conquer the darkness in our lives. I also liked how the chain of events that was her life was realized at the end in a way that led her to where she was, and how necessary those events were to building who Riley was and developing why she was loved so much by her"family ".

Somehow I missed reading this book during my read through of the series. I knew I had to read it knowing I must have missed some major things. I'm so glad I took the time to go back and read this.

This book takes place during Rylee and Liam's vacation. Which turns out to not be much of a vacation towards the end. They start out having a relatively calm vacation and decide to take a ride on Blaze to go out to a remote werewolf pack that can help Liam understand what he is going through.

Of course to true Rylee fashion nothing ever goes as planned. Since this is her vacation she doesn't take her weapons with her. During there stay with the wolves she wishes she had when things go not quite as planned.

I don't want to give away any spoilers but this book is a great addition to the series and so many great and amazing things happen this is a must read.

I loved this novella. Absolutely loved it. I needed more Rylee and Liam since they weren’t together for a lot of book 6 and this was perfect. As usual, there’s action in here, but there’s lots of love too. There’s also a very big reveal in the book, so definitely don’t skip this novella! I’m so happy with how the ending went that I almost don’t want to finish the series and live in my own little world. Ha. I’m so scared for these prophesies to come true and I don’t want to be sad. But even so, I have to know what happens. So on to book 7 it is!

It did annoy me in this book that the mind-spoken conversations weren’t in italics like they were previously. Hopefully that only happens in this book and goes back to normal for book 7. It just makes it unnecessarily confusing.

This short novella was very necessary to read before the next book in the series. With so much that happens in it and some secrets revealed, it would be best to read it if you didn't want to guess what happened going forward.

Rylee and Liam, on vacation in Russia so that he could meet with the wolf pack there. Queue all sorts of drama and action and it is our typical Rylee book. Although it wasn't my favourite in the series it was still awesome to see Rylee and Liam together for longer than five minutes before running off in different directions. I loved getting to see Liam come into his own, finally getting more information on who and what he is. It made for an interesting, action packed book.

Wonderful

Just a short novella but packed with typical Rylee Adamson adventures she and Liam take a short vacation mostly so that Liam can learn from the old wolf Peter and to give these two some well deserved rest. Never turns out that way trouble is just around the corner in the guise of human hunters taking the lives of wolves who have renounced violence. These hunters are taking children of both wolves and witches Rylee and Liam have to intervene and destroy the hunters whilst bringing wolves and witches together. We also find out an interesting snippet of information and witness the marriage of Rylee and Liam in a secret ceremony two facts that no one can know.

Liam is heading off to see the elder werewolf he met when he first escaped from Milly. There seems to be a lull in their lives so Rylee goes along for a little vacation. She doesn’t even take her weapons.
The nice quiet vacation completely fails when the pack they are visiting gets attacked and to Rylee’s surprise doesn’t fight back. It seems they are pacifists due to violent backgrounds.
Liam and Rylee decide to take matters into their own hands and solve the problem.
Definitely not a vacation!
This short book gives more information about Liam and his guardian wolf.
I found this an easy read, with action, surprises and humour although I missed Alex’s commentaries.
This series is getting more interesting as it goes along.

It’s been a few years since I’ve read a book in this series and I was concerned I wouldn’t remember what was going on. The fact that this book is just a novella really helped that. It was a side story that eased me back into the characters and didn’t throw me into the deep end.
Even though it was short a lot happened and there were developments that grew the characters. It was short but impactful. It also hinted at what was going on in the world so I feel better prepared to start back into the series.
This book and the next are in Kindle Unlimited so I’m going to move right onto the next.

Liam and Rylee seek out the werewolf pack where Peter, the elder that is to train Liam in his Guardianship role, is Alpha. It turns out this pack is at the mercy of any who decide that they should be eliminated. Liam and Rylee can’t understand why the pack won’t defend themselves until Peter relates their history. Rylee also comes across a mother seeking her child who turns out to have been snatched by the same humans who were killing the werewolves. They meet a young witch whose brother was also kidnapped by the humans so join forces to rescue the children and chase off the bad guys. It seems that everyone Liam meets knows of his destiny.

Ohhh so good

This was a short but oh so good novella ! Rylee & Liam are thrown into another battle of good verses evil, while Liam is trying to learn more of his guardian powers. I won't tell what happens, however the ending filled my heart! The love of these two are what dreams are made of. You MUST read this one !!!!
I highly recommend and this is a good steamy 18+ novella ;)

this series is lovely

I love these characters and this world woven by Shannon Mayer. It’s beautiful, terrifying but filled with friendship, loyal and love. I like the story unfolding without distracting prolonged spicy scenes. It is refreshing to not read about toes curling, etc. There is passion yes, but it does not detract from the storyline. Give this series a try. Not standalone novels, start at the beginning!

Great addition to the story!

I loved finding out more about Liam in this novella. The bond between him and Rylee spike even higher than before. I loved the connection she has made between the two characters. This series is so addictive! I will say it over and over... I just can’t get enough!

Fast and short read. Personally, enjoy the "actual" books more. Did introduce an exciting plot twist though considering Liam and Rylee's relationship but otherwise not really worth the read. Felt that it was written really fast and abruptly without that much thought or investment from the author as the "actual" books.

Emotions

Rylee and Liam are definitely made for each and destined to be one of the greatest couples you ever write about. They have a chemistry that is deeper than the ocean and hotter than the hottest kiln. The Guardian is a tremendous read. The tying together of two souls so much more binding than a marriage license.

Plenty of couples advancing their relationship take a vacation together, so do Rylee and Liam. Weighed by Giselle’s words, Liam visits a wiser wolf to learn things but as Rylee tries to assist with missing children, she cannot. Minutes later, Rylee’s certain things are off kilter, soon after she learns the wolf pack are pacifists that have become prey for bullying hunters.

I loved this short story!! There were so many amazing things that happened in this book. I love Liam and Rylee!! I'm exited to continue the series, however, I don't know when or how but there will be tough losses (there already have been in the series) and I'm not looking forward to that part. I'm so glad I am listening to this series!! The graphic audio narrators are just phenomenal!!

Marriage? And a baby? How is that going to work? We lose O’Shea, but we get to keep the baby? Their souls are entwined…does that mean a unicorn brings him back? Soooo many questions! And why didn’t they ever ask the unicorns to bring back Dox and them?? How is Catya going to watch the baby if she is in Russia?

Like other reviewers mentioned, we learn a lot about Rylee and Liam. Focus is on them traveling to North Russia to Peter's pack for Liam to learn more about him being a Guardian Wolf. Finally a little more spice in this one, plus of course an adventure to find a "child" while eliminating the hunter witches who attack Peter's pack.

I never thought much about reading the short stories in series, but the last two in this series has been very important to the series as a whole. First being Alex and now this one.

I promise, with the information this short brings about, you will be VERY glad you read it!

The only thing that annoyed me in this book is that the mind-to-mind communication was not italicized, as it is in previous books, so it blends into the narrative and becomes quite confusing. Otherwise another enjoyable book in this continuing series/story.
