Hallow Ranch #2

Stay for Me

Rate this book
This is a dark cowboy romance set at Hallow Ranch, home of the Langston Brothers and their morally grey ranch hands. Mags

Peace.
After spending a half a lifetime in hell and the other half in a warzone, peace was all I wanted.
Over a decade ago, I came to Hallow Ranch after leaving the Marines, thinking that’s what I would find.
Peace. Solitude. Maybe even a shred of happiness.
When Denver Langston hired me, gave me a cot to sleep in, food to eat, and a horse to ride, I made the decision to stay. Forever.
Hallow Ranch wanted—no, needed—me, and it felt good.
I’d only gotten a taste of what I came here to find before it was ripped away, replaced by a burning temptation unlike anything I’d ever known.
Diana Denver’s lawyer.
From the moment I saw her, entranced by her beauty and light, I knew the universe wasn’t done torturing me.
Peace was nothing but a myth.
Now, after years of yearning, my control is about to snap.

Diana

Love.
That darn thing was a blessing to some but a curse to others.
I, unfortunately, had been cursed, falling in love with a cowboy who wanted nothing to do with me.
I came to Colorado after law school looking to do some good in the world, leaving my past and the East Coast behind me.
It was a rocky start, to say the least, but when Denver Langston, the owner of Hallow Ranch, hired me on the spot, things started looking up. My client list grew, and my life plan was finally in motion.
It was a good plan, carefully crafted, jotted down in my first Filofax. Color coded, of course.
Then, that plan went up in smoke the day my eyes landed on Denver’s newest Mags.
He was dark, cold, beautiful, and my stupid heart jumped before I could even say hello. I fell in love with him so quickly, it defied logic.
That was over a decade ago.
Today, I’m still hopelessly and foolishly in love with that cowboy. That’s why there’s a new plan in place.
A plan to move on.

I refuse to believe there are women out there that just see a guy once, fall in love immediately, only to spend more than a decade waiting to be noticed instead of living their life to the fullest. All this for a guy that has barely said anything to you or shown obvious interest in 10 fucking years. I get that it's fiction but i mean...

H/h met more than a decade ago when he comes to work at the ranch and she meets him there because she's the ranch's lawyer. They've only had a handful of conversation throughout the whole 10 years but apparently they are in love? How? When? Where?

No, seriously. You can count the dialogues between them over the span of 10 years in one hand. Every time they run into each other she sputters and can't form a sentence and he doesn't talk at all. And the same guy that has barley spoken, is shy and broody that hasn't said many words to anyone in a decade is suddenly chatty af once they get together?

I get dancing around each other but they don't even know each other, never met except for accidental run-ins so how exactly are they in love? I honestly don't know 🤷‍♀️

She escapes controlling parents and an abusive ex only to get caught up with a guy who is rude, constantly yells and is a plain asshole in general but ofc she's in love so he only does it because he cares for her lol.

Wait... I'm not ready to goodbye to Hallow Ranch already 😭😭😭 I JUST got to know Mags and see him happy, I want more.

Mags was such a mystery in this series and I think everyone has been waiting and waiting for his happy ending and oh my goodness was it worth the wait! Not even going to lie, there were parts of this story that had my jaw on the literal floor. 🫨 You really don't even know all there is to know about Mags still after this book but what we do know is heartwrenching.

The LONGING and pining in this book made my heart ache. They both loved each other at first sight but Mags never thought he was he was good enough for her and Diana thought she was only in her feelings. Once Mags came to his senses, he was ALL in.

There was so many twists and turns that you just HAVE to read this to find out what happens.

Tropes:
🖤 Morally Grey Cowboy
🖤 Curvy Lawyer FMC
🖤 Reclusive & Celibate MMC
🖤 10 year long mutual pining
🖤 Touch her & D!e(literally)
🖤 Romantic Suspense

Did I get this ARC this morning? Yes.

Did I inhale it like oxygen and finish it literally 30 seconds ago? Also yes.

MAGS. FINALLY. HAS. HIS. STORY.
And holy hell, it’s even better than I imagined.
I’ve been weak for Brittany Ann’s cowboys since page one, but Mags? He’s the blueprint.

Always in black? Check.
Military, now cowboy? Check.
Morally grey with…. A surprise? CHECK.

AND THEN *deep breaths* Carrie/Grayson updates?! Cue me sobbing into my hoodie.

I want to scream about everything that happens, but I’m resisting for your sake. So instead, I leave you with this very calm and rational plea:

PREORDER THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW

Okaythanksbyeeee.

🖤Morally dark grey cowboy
🖤 Bad ass lawyer for cowboys
🖤 Touch her and die with schmurder
🖤 Kidnapping
🖤 10-year slow burn

Thank you for giving me the story I needed Brittany Ann, ily.

DNFed at 45% because the protagonists are insufferable. I tried really hard to read it but the characters were corny and I could predict the plot after a while.
The abusive ex who she doesn't put in jail, is gonna take up most of the story innit? And ofcourse ML is gonna save her whenever something goes wrong.
I enjoyed this book a little bit in the beginning because the ML came across as a sassy grump who just chooses to be reclusive, and the FL feels ambitious with a warm, welcoming aura.

But as the story progresses the ML is plain rude and domineering.
“𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙖𝙩 𝙖 𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙚𝙭, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣’ 𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙮.”

“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙗𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙥𝙞𝙙 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣?”

“𝙄𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙮 𝙖 𝙜𝙪𝙣, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙩,”

"𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙖𝙮. 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛. 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙛 𝙖 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚, 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙪𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥."

Why is he talking to her like this when she's crying? Why does he want to spank her in such a vulnerable moment? It's just gross.

And the FL? She's so...weird. She was in an abusive relationship, comes from an abusive family, is an actual lawyer for dangerous men, and still is so naive and clueless about the world? She barely knows anything about her people. She is in love with ML since a DECADE after barely having any conversations with him? She's in love with the idea of him, and he's always bumping into her like some possessive wolf. It's so cringe to me.

“𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙩. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙖 𝙘𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚. 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙡-𝙘𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚,” 𝙄 𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙, 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙩."

Apparently she owns a gun, but she doesn't even know how to use it. Sigh. Why must a character be THIS weak.
Around 40%+ The FL and her guy best friend talk about how they almost had feelings for each other and he would date her if he could, he wanted to love her but he couldn't fall in love?? What a weird conversation to have when someone is hysterically crying confessing their love for someone.

The tropes and blurb look so interesting but the book was a let down.

Diana is a successful lawyer for the cowboys and ranchers in the small town she's settled in. She's carved a life out for herself, and is doing well until ghosts from her past catch up to her, and she has nowhere to run but the cowboys of Hallow Ranch.

*****

I loved the last book in this series, but this one just didn't hit in the same way. Diana and Mag's chemistry seemed to rely on over a decade of extremely brief intersections of their paths. Almost no dialogue was shared except for a few instances over that time, and they often didn't see each other for at minimum 3-6+ months, and usually from afar. This made it feel as if their current desperate love for each other just didn't make sense.

More than once Diana admits she knows absolutely nothing about Mags, and we see interactions where he's commanding, controlling, possessive and yelling at her to just fucking listen, and I was left wondering how she fell for him. Especially with her recovering from controlling parents, and a mentally, emotionally and physically abusive ex, you'd think he'd be softer for her, not replicate their behaviour.

Instead he snaps at her, demands from her, rejects her, and it all apparently makes her nipples hard. I couldn't rationalize the way he treated her with any kind of affection. It was so much possession that for some reason didn't hit the same as I'd usually feel in a solid dark MMC, and I was left not buying into their connection. I think if we'd had more of his past in general vs brief explanations towards the end, it would have helped connect with him better, but they both felt flat and like they were slotted into the existing storyline instead of really delved into as unique characters themselves.

Once they were finally together it felt weird and like they were desperately trying to keep each other instead of actually in love. The pet names, declarations of devotion, all of it felt odd based on how the rest of the book played out.

All in all, this one just didn't hit for me. I don't think the story was poorly done, I just didn't believe in the love between Diana and Mags, and that suspended the novel for me. I do think others will love it though if they can feel the vibe between them.

From the moment Hallow Ranch was introduced to the Brittanyverse, I've been so curious about Mags and what his story would be. Let's just say... Author Brittany Ann did not disappoint!!

It was dark, intense and filled with longing... Mags and Diana have had a decade to want and wish before their opportunity at love came around. Mags' backstory is heart wrenching, and Diana's history comes back to haunt her throughout the story.

I devoured this book and can't wait to read more in the Author's book universe. As with all of her works, there are significant trigger warnings, so make sure you read these before jumping in.

I have been reading books lately that just speak to me. I read them so fast, hooked in and needing to know more. Stay for Me, is an example of one of these books. I recently discovered this author, and I have now read everything she has written.

Mags is a character we have known on the periphery. I figured he had a story, but what we get is so much better. He is a complex man, with a history that is not pretty. I am so glad he finally gets his story and his happily ever after.

I am sad to see this series come to an end, but I am looking forward to where we are headed next.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

❤️‍🔥Dark Cowboy
🔆Dual Timeline/Flashbacks
❤️‍🔥Morally Gray, Tortured MMC
🔆Strong, Tall and Midsized FMC
❤️‍🔥Touch Her and Die
🔆InstaLove but Intense Yearning
❤️‍🔥Slow Burn

Where to start?! This may be an unpopular opinion but Mags never called to me. He was always just a mysterious and brooding side character. However, after reading his story, I am so glad he got a book!
In the first 2 Hallow Ranch books, the Langston Brothers Duet, I would have never guessed who Mags love interest would be, but in Stay for Me I was hoping for a specific lady to be the one to make this broken and damaged cowboy come alive in my mind and it was who I wanted! This may be the first book of Brittany’s where I love the FMC more than the MMC (Mags still has my heart though!). Diana is a smart and badass attorney who can do anything! And just like in all of Brittany’s books, this FMC had so much depth to her. She had her own demons to battle and those vulnerabilities, insecurities, and imperfections made me love her so much. She was the perfect match for Mags.

This book did something I really enjoy with dual timelines, one character is in the present and the other is in the post moving in chronological order until they meet! This book is INSTALOVE…but with an intense yearning that made for the sweetest slow burn. When Mags and Diana finally get together I was so happy for both of them! They get a HEA that is very much them, the power to move towards healing with the love and support of a true partner.

There were some serious 👀 moments as Mags history was slowly revealed and I was loving how they pulled me in! The connections to these MCs and the possibilities of side characters always make my mind go wild with questions and hopes. Yes, I DM Brittany with every book about my theories and “requests”. 🤷🏻‍♀️

As this book wraps up the Hallow Ranch series, it did what I have come to expect from Brittany, in the most unexpected of ways (like usual), a link and opening to a bigger Brittany-verse with the bonus of knowing I being able to see these characters in some way in the future.

Mags + Diana

The lawyer and the Cowboy.

These two have been in each other orbit for a very long time. They have been fighting their connection since the first time they saw each other on Hallow Ranch.

Mags is a former marine. Injured in the line of duty left him scarred and battling PTSD almost every day of his life. It didn’t help that when he came home, he came home to nothing. Everything was a lie. That set him off onto another path of solitude.

Diana is getting her life together. She’s been used and abused all her life but now that she’s left it behind, she’s trying her hardest to not allow it to come back at her. She has her own battles she fights daily, that aren’t just in the court room.

These two have been avoiding each other for nearly 12 years.

But when Diana is in danger, she calls Denver only for Mags to answer and it changes everything.

She’s in danger and he comes for her.

I really enjoyed this story. I liked the fact that he went to her and didn’t even think about it. He’s never left that ranch but a phone call from her and he’s right there.

They both have their own suffering but together, they slowly heal each other and their insecurities.

I loved seeing Diana strengthen her backbone and tell her parent and Lucas how it was. That was a fierce moment for our girl.

I also enjoyed how the foundation of the couple was told through the years. But I do think towards the end, the story just fell short and didn’t deliver the full potential of it.

The only thing I didn’t like was the scene with Mags and Lucas. It could have been a little more interesting and darker. Especially considering how Mags was characterised but it kinda fell short. It’s like it was rushed or not thought out to a certain extent.

Massive thank you to The Author Agency for provide me this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

I finished this a while ago but oh my heart. This is going on my top shelf for all the heartache, tears, and longing. I was a bit confused with the jumping of the timeline and of course I should have read the prior couples' stories, but it's all good. There were some minor spoilers because Diana and Mags' story is apparently the final in the Hallow Ranch series, but that's ok. This is my first time reading this author but I will definitely read her other works.

I gave this a 5 because it was enough heartache and so much love that I didn't drop for errors. I think another solid proofread would have been a great help.

I may have missed it but does Chase get his own story? I would love his story.

THIS BOOK!!!! First of all this series is absolutely amazing and if you haven't read it yet, please add it to your tbr!
I don't normally reread books but every time I read another one of Brittany's books I want to go back to the beginning and fall in love with these cowboys all over again.

Diana and Mags have known each other for years, since the moment they locked eyes it was over but there's always something or someone getting in the way of them being together.

Mags, the hot recluse cowboy who rarely speaks only in grunts and one words SPEAKS to her!!! Diana the ambitious lawyer, who always loved the cowboys and hallow ranch can't help with fall for Mags more every time she sees him. The push and pull with these two, good lord! But when they finally give in, WOOO!

If you love Morally Grey cowboys and how possessive they are over their women and families this series is for you!

Thank you to Brittany for letting me arc read this and grateful to be a part of your team! 🫶🏻💓✨️

I honestly had a hard time with this book. I wanted to love it because I love a good tortured hero and yearning for eachother but this one just missed the mark.

First I had a hard time with the fact they have been yearning for each other for what 10 years? It wasn’t believable to me because they barely interacted with each other and they were more strangers to lovers IMHO.

Please also do not get me started on the way our MMC to spoke to Diana knowing she had been in an abusive relationship before. He was not kind in the way he spoke/treated her and instead was hard/mean and demanding. I get he is supposed to be morally gray but heck I have read some dark romances where the MMC can still be kind to the FMC knowing what she has been through.

Overall I have enjoyed this series but this book missed the mark for me personally.

Thank you to the author and the author agency for the arc of this book in return for my honest review.

✨️ARC Review

Stay For Me is my first read by Brittany Ann and it will definitely not be the last! This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. From sad eyes all the way to my jaw hitting the floor. I couldn't stop reading long enough to pick it back up before was right back to where it would have been if I had picked it up.

I knew I was in for a dark cowboy romance, but Mags definitely gave me a run for my money! Mags had such a heartwrenching life and at times I wonered how this man made it through. I was just blown away. At times I needed to take a small break just so that I could compose myself and keep reading. Mags is one of the ultimate men of mystery. I know that this book doesn't lay him completely out for us to see, he has too many layers for that to be done in one book. I know this gorgeous man has his demons and thats okay. We all do even if we make it well known. He was definitely the perfect protector, and always did what he could to protect what was his. I loved his protective side. There is and will never be a better side to a man!

Diana was the lawyer for the town that she has settled into, and it happens to be close to Mags. After 10 long years of pining. The pining that these two had one over the years was impressive, but made me sad that they were never able to fnd their way back to each other before then. Diana definitely had her own journey with her parents among other interactions throughout her life. Even though her life has always had turmoil, she still always came back to Mags. His control, demands and everything that comes with him is her cat nip. Some people would question why she would be so drawn to him and how he treats her. Taking that control away to someone you love is different from the ones that do it willingly without our best interests.

I truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read the first in the series and see what else Brittan has in store!

*ARC Review*

Gah Mags and Diana will live rent free in my head for a long time.

This book is a dark cowboy romance and had some suspense which I thoroughly enjoyed. I really liked the dual timeline, which was done in a unique way.

Diana is a badass and has worked so hard to overcome her childhood traumas. She is a lawyer for the ranches in the area and has proven herself. She has taken control of her life and cut out the toxicity her ex and her family brought to her life. She has an inexplicable draw towards Mags, falling for the cowboy the first time she laid eyes on him.

Mags is the reclusive cowboy who hasn’t stepped foot off the Hollow Ranch property since he started working there - over a decade ago. He is grumpy and quiet, only talking when necessary. He has his demons and refuses to allow himself to have the light that is Diana Harper. He is protective and such a freaking cinnamon roll, I just absolutely loved him - even if he was the most stubborn man I’ve ever read about.

Their mutual pining and their longing for each other was so good and WOOOF the slow burn 🥵 When Mags finally allowed Diana in, it was explosive and I absolutely loved them together. Their connection was 🔥 and the spice was even hotter. I wish we could have gotten more of them.

I look forward to reading more of the Hollow Ranch series in the future.

Thank you Brittany and The Author Agency for the ARC! 🖤

OK, so I love angst! And this was on the precipice of truly amazing for me but the angst began to not match in lock-step with the characters action and their personalities as it went on.

Spending 10 years pining for the other is romantic for sure (they both had insta love but never pushed it). He's scared and doesn't feel whole, damaged by PTSD and being so reclusive, so I totally get him not making a move. But in current timeline he does eventually say how he doesn't think he's good enough. But she keeps interpreting that as rejection. This is used often in books and it frustrates me so much. How can someone think a guy saying something like that (while he comes to rescue you from an ex), is rejecting you?

The quick and repeated pet name of Firefly felt silly. Pet name from this gruff, sometimes harsh, broody lumberjack just felt corny.

Finally, when the spice hits, it just went ham (and some may love that and that's ok). But for me, spice has to be emotionally grounded and make sense to the story and characters mental states. He all of a sudden has the biggest vocabulary and is very vocal and dirty. With him being built up as so introverted, scared, etc...it felt unrealistic. He was so self conscious of his scars but it seemed very easy for him to reveal himself, I would've thought more hesitation would be there for a bigger reveal, but then we just get long passages of spice embellished for the sake of spice lovers.

I actually felt disconnected to them more than i thought i would. I would've like more of their interactions in the past to cement what they saw in the other that they loved so quickly. So in all I expected more, but I did still enjoy it for the mmc and when he was being broody.

“When a man like that shows up at your door and tries to get into your house, you shoot him,…when a man like me shows up and wants to shoot him, you fuckin’ let me….When a man like me tells you not to look at a piece of shit like your ex, you fuckin’ obey.”

OMG! For the final book in this phenomenal series, Mags and Diana’s story was like the icing on the cake. It was beautifully written, incredibly emotional and had me in a chokehold the whole way through.

The insane longing, desires and cravings these two had for each other over the course of a decade just oozed off the pages and had my heart breaking. I was on the edge of my seat waiting with anticipation of when they would both finally give into what their hearts truly desired - each other!

But Mags and Diana’s story was not an easy one. There were a lot of twists and turns, endless drama, some danger and a whole hell of a lot of healing before they could get their happy ending.

I absolutely loved everything about it. It was such a beautiful ending to this series!

Five stars. No notes.

It has been a little while since I was this hooked on a book! This whole series was such a win for me and Mags didn’t disappoint. The author did such an amazing job setting up his character in the previous books!!

This book was FILLED with trauma and longing and it just really hit the mark. Emotional, intense, and dark in all the best ways with a happily ever after ending. I love a good backstory and both of these characters had one. The book kept my attention all the way through 👏🏻

In true Brittany Ann fashion, she created yet ANOTHER dark, broody, haunted, perfect, cowboy. Mags’ book is one I’d been feral for since I first began by Hallow Ranch journey and he did not disappoint.

The decade-long mutual pining? The gut wrenching past Mags has lived through? (And we don’t even know it all!) The way Diana is able to build a life she’s proud of, even against her parents wishes? The layers between these two are so deep, and I inhaled this ARC!

Not only were both Diana and Mags absolutely phenomenal on their own right, the way the entire Hallow Ranch crew rallied around the two of them to open their eyes to see they did indeed deserve happiness, made this a true epic conclusion to this series! I loved it.

ARC review:

This was a sloooooow burn and the tension is thiiiiiiick. I thought the longing and the angst was going to kill me one chapter at a time!?! The edging was real and the pay off was so so good 😮‍💨. Mags is so broody/myserious and would have these super hot moments of possessiveness with Diana which had me screaming “just claim her already!?!”. Can you imagine longing after each other for 10 YEARS?! The spice was explosive and I knew a man like Mags would have a filthy mouth 🥵🥵🥵🫠🫠🫠. This was my intro to Britany’s work and I already know that I need to go back and read Denver and Beau’s stories! So so good!

Huge thanks to Brittany Ann and The Author Agency for the opportunity to receive a review copy of Stay for Me!

Unfortunately this was a DNF at 5% for me. I had been really looking forward to Mav’s story after Live for Me, but decided not to proceed when I encountered an ageist comment at the 5% mark. I had had some concerns around a few of the descriptions of side characters in her previous book, but was willing to give her another chance since Stay For Me sounded right up my alley. When there was already evidence of Brittany once again labelling characters in problematic ways from the outset, I knew I would not be proceeding with this book or any others.

No spoilers. Read via kindle (ARC).

I knew this book was going to be amazing, but it was truly more heartbreaking and beautiful than I could imagine. Absolutely loved reading it and sad to see the end of Halloween Ranch, but it was done perfectly. This mysterious cowboy and his firefly made it such a bittersweet moment of Hallow Ranch. This is a dark romance, fast paced, and interconnected world of Brittany’s. You will feel the feels and wish you were at Hallow Ranch.

Would I recommend? Yes, highly recommend reading in order, but also can be read alone but not grasp the full picture.

It felt so good to be back at Hollow Ranch! Any of Brittany’s books are feel good books mixed with some drama and I’m here for it! This was such a great addition to the Hollow Ranch series, I absolutely loved every minute of this book and never wanted it to end!

”My mother hates the woman I’ve become.” (…) “She hates the woman I am because I’m the woman she wasn’t strong enough to be.”

I don’t know if I just didn’t get into this fast enough because it has everything I would love, but I hated it. The back-and-forth was so confusing to me.

Thank you so much to Brittany Ann and The Author Agency for the opportunity to receive this ARC. It was perfect!! I loved Mags and Diana’s story.

I have loved the Langston brothers and Hallow ranch series and this story was the perfect ending. It broke me!!! But then completely restored my faith!! It is so beautifully written. Both Mags and Diana have experienced such varied trauma between them and this is beautifully explored and written. The flash backs explore these and they broke my heart. I could have cried during some of these and explore some really difficult subjects but they are so well done.

Diana as the FMC is brilliant. But for me the stand out of the whole book is Mags, the MMC. He was perfect!! I have been counting down the time until Mags story and he did not disappoint at all. He was so tortured, so emotionally damaged but beautiful. The love between him and Diana is the slowest of burns but when it happens boom!!! And until that happens you have the most perfect slow burn, tension and pining!!
