Reese It’s been six months since Trinity’s death and I still can’t believe she’s gone. She was the closest I ever came to having an old lady. Then those bastards took her from me, snuffed out her life while I was on a run. My brothers want the old me back, but that man’s lost in a haze of guilt and grief. I give in and agree to be set up on a blind date. I don’t expect much. I don’t even want to hear about her. It’s enough knowing Ainsley Hale is the best friend of the RC’s side piece. Once I get the damn date out of the way, they’ll get the hell off my back. What I don’t expect is to hit it off with her and end up in her bed. The morning after gives me the shock of my life when I see my Ainsley standing next to him—Roman Mac—in a photo with a frame that says ‘Best Big Brother’. I dress and hightail my ass out of there, vowing to forget Ainsley’s existence.
Ainsley Roman is the best big brother a girl could ask for, but also the worst. He gives new meaning to overprotectiveness. He has been my guardian since I was ten. To protect me from his enemies, he even made me use our mother’s maiden name as my last name. Roman’s entire life revolves around his club and me. My first date took place at his clubhouse. Needless to say, I haven’t been asked out much since then. My best friend is sneaking around with the Road Captain of the Kansas City Chapter of the Royal Bastards MC. When my brother goes away for a weekend, Nova convinces me to go on a blind date with RBMC’s SAA. What better way to thumb my nose at all Roman’s stupid rules? I never expected to hit it off with Reese and I especially didn’t expect to fall into bed with him. I fell asleep after amazing sex, thinking it was the start of a great secret romance. But Reese was gone and I knew he discovered my relation to Roman. Three months later while Roman is on a run, I’m facing a crisis—get rid of the baby I conceived during my one night with the biker or find Reese and confess I’m carrying his child.
I am slowly but surely learning to manage my time more effectively and getting back to writing and connecting with everyone. I'm not completely there yet, but it is slowly coming together. Misled and Misappropriate have been updated with additional chapters and POVs from a couple more characters. Both books have about 30,000 more words and new covers. I have new covers for all the books in the series. Recently Misled placed first in the Mystery, Suspense, and Thriller category on Chick Lit Cafe. The paperback will also be included in an upcoming Reveal Book Box. While working on Reckless, I am also updating the text in the original series. About Reckless - It will be filled with death and destruction, as usual. However, I will admit to being slightly shocked myself at some of the turn of events taking place. I have restarted my newsletter with a new name, KatChats. Until the end of the year, I plan to send it out weekly because of all the news I have to share. After that, I will switch to monthly. I also have a new website. It should be online in a couple of days once the domain transfer completes. I also have a website dedicated to the Death Dwellers. It is still in its early stages, but it is live: https://deathdwellersmc.com. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please send them my way.
Kathryn C. Kelly is a New Orleans native who has called southeast Texas home since 2005. She had intended to travel the world but always return to her beloved New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina had other plans. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters and the daughter of one gorgeous mother whose footsteps she followed in by becoming a writer. Kathryn is the former owner and editor of Inside Rose Rich Magazine. She and her mother have been published by Jove Books as Christine Holden. The books have long been out of print but they got the rights back to the five novels and have plans to re-release them soon. Kathryn is a cancer survivor. In 2010, she felt a small lump in her breast. In 2015, at the urging of her mother, she went in for her bi-yearly mammogram and was diagnosed with Stage 2b/3a HER2 positive breast cancer. On November 30, 2016, she rang the bell. During her treatment, she was also diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome. In 2013, Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell introduced himself to Kat in the most cliché way ever. He came to her in a dream. After the inauspicious meeting, he planted himself in her mind and the motherf...the gentleman hasn't left yet. In what was only supposed to be one book about the fictitious Death Dwellers MC, Outlaw has become a source of amusement, a well of frustration, and a bone of contention between Kat and one of her daughters. She is hard at work on Reckless, the book that will bridge the OGs with a new generation of Death Dwellers. Her work has been included in several anthologies and she is looking forward to other upcoming single title releases, including Savage Suit from the Cocky Hero Club World created by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. She is a former RWA member. She also served as Vice President for the SOLA chapter of RWA. She is a New Orleans Saints fan, but roots for the Texans, the Rockets, and the Coogs (U of H) as long as they aren't playing any Louisiana teams. She loves champagne and sparkling wine. One day, she will try Snoop's brand. She still loves Chivas Regal but had a chance to taste Sassenach Scotch. A #lifegoal is to one day buy herself an entire bottle and keep it all for herself. In her head, she is a biker babe with a Harley in her garage, waiting for her to hit the road. In reality, she has yet to hop on a bike and ride. She loves Cards Against Humanity, has very strong opinions that she keeps to herself, has to take her time to talk in public so nothing untoward pops out, and always strives to see the best in people and in life.
This is my first book by this author. I can say that I will looking forward to ready more of her back catalog.
I loved Reese and Ansiley (I'm not good at spelling names). Their backgrounds played an important role in this story. Reese never thought that he'd have a family but as the story gets into the plot of the book. You will see a change both of the main characters as the story goes on.
The plot was perfect and the characters just added to the story. Each character had their moments of fun and their moments of being serious.
I would recommend this book to anyone. Especially to those that new to the MC life.
These past two weeks I’ve been reading sweet romance novels with light themes and heartthrob heroes. Now that it’s getting close to summertime in Michigan, I’m craving the gritty and dangerous lifestyle that comes with MC (Motorcycle Club) romance novels! Let me just say, that Kathryn C. Kelly did NOT disappoint! She brought all the grit and all the danger to the table with Reese and Ainsley’s story! Let’s get started with this review.
All Ainsley wants is the freedom to choose her own life but being the younger sister to an enforcer in a motorcycle club leaves little to no room for those freedoms and choices. So Ainsley takes matters into her own hands and accepts the date arranged by her best friend's boyfriend. All she wants is to lose her V Card to a man of her choosing, and Reese is the perfect man.
Reese didn’t want to go on a date, but after six months of moping around his best friend, and club brother, has had enough and sets him up with his on-the-side lady’s best friend. A night of fun may be exactly what the doctor ordered. That is until Ainsley walks up and slides into the seat across from him and offers him a one-night-only ticket in exchange for punching her V Card. Reese tries to shut down her offer, but sometimes the heart wants what it wants and Ainsley finds it hard to say no too.
But what happens, when Reese Sinclair learns that Ainsley happens to be the little sister of his sworn enemy? And what happens when his sworn enemy's little sister shows up at his clubhouse ten weeks later with a bun in the oven… All hell is about to break loose!
My Thoughts:
Kathryn C. Kelly is a name I won’t be forgetting anytime soon!! One Night With The Biker was exactly what I wanted in an MC romance! I wanted the danger, the violence and the raw grit that comes with this sub-genre and Kathryn C. Kelly delivered all and much more than I thought was possible!
I loved Ainsley’s whole vibe. I loved her fierceness and her warrior spirit. I loved the fact that she was very talkative once she got to know you. And I loved the endless chances she gave people. And she wasn’t afraid to cut people off once they reached her breaking point of no return. My heart loved her ability to be real and honest. I loved her overall truth and her motherly ways throughout this novel. It’s just a shame that some characters in this novel didn’t realize how much of a treasure Ainsley was until it was too late.
Now let’s dive into Reese’s Character. Reese Sinclair is the enforcer of the Royal Bastards MC: Kansas City chapter. This means he’s a mean S.O.B. who isn’t afraid to extinguish an enemy in his club. I enjoyed the rough and tumble-vibes Reese brought to this novel. But I also loved the tender and sweet side of this man, especially where Ainsley is concerned. He’d move heaven and earth to protect this woman from any threat, not realizing the biggest threat was himself. There were times I wanted to knock some sense into this man, but I trusted the process that Kathryn C. Kelly had going. Whew! That was a whirlwind! It took a lot to get this man to see his heart has always belonged to Ainsley. And when he came to that conclusion, I shouted FINALLY!!
And then we have Roman, Ainsley’s older brother and the Enforcer to the Bloody Scorpions MC. Which also happens to be the enemy and rival to the Royal Bastards MC. I thought Roman’s chapters brought an extra dose of danger to this MC novel! I loved how overprotective he was when Ainsley was concerned! Having read my fair share of romance novels revolving around the MC lifestyle, I understood and appreciated Roman and his point of view chapters. I knew where this was going and I was glad to see an inside viewpoint into both clubhouses! And then the end… I loved it that much more!
Now for the reason why I gave this novel a four-star rating. I liked the overall premise of One Night With The Biker! I loved the Romeo and Juliet trope and the danger that came with it. I dropped a star because there was a little too much violence against women. I would have liked to see less violence towards the women but that’s just a preference of mine. If you find situations such as violence against women to be triggering, this may not be the novel for you
Overall, I adored Ainsley throughout her journey! I loved how she wasn’t afraid to give sass where it was earned. This woman is a warrior and is going to be a great protective mama bear! I also loved seeing the people who were taught to dislike her due to who she was associated with break their guard down and start to enjoy her company. So, if you are a fan of MC Romances with a ton of danger, grit, and all the dark vibes. If you also love age-gap romances with an unexpected pregnancy vibe you should add this one to your shelf!
The RBMC’s great enemy is the Bloody Scorpions, and enemies come to blows as friends, brothers-in-arms, and family dish out betrayal like it’s the lunch special.
RBMC books are sometimes hit or miss for me. There are some authors in the RBMC world who are a must read, while others are a must not read. Many of them are new to me this run, so it’s a matter of waiting to see, as it is for me with this chapter of the RBMC.
RBMC books tend to be on each author’s more extreme end of the spectrum, and this one is pretty darn brutal. Let’s just say that while there is such a thing as a prosthetic hand or leg, there is no such thing as a prosthetic head. I had mixed feelings about this: I have no issue with fictional violence, but sometimes it felt like the author was trying too hard with it. Still, some of it was rather inventive, so props for that.
I also give the author credit for portraying a more balanced view of 1% MCs. In MC Romance, a lot of the 1% clubs are all hearts and flowers and Kumbaya, with a side of violence against clearly defined, deserving enemies. This book explores the different shades of morally ambiguous characters and relationships. For example, it doesn’t gloss over the misogyny that is often present in the lifestyle. And that loyalty works- for a certain value of loyal, that is. Also, the MMC is sometimes an… well, let’s just say that he’s sometimes not a very likable person. (Gotta watch those words.)
The reasons why I gave this book four stars instead of five are twofold. First, I thought that the author was sometimes trying too hard to make everything Badsass. And I wasn’t impressed by the sexytime. As a side note, I felt that this was one of the least surprising pregnancies in the history of the Surprise Pregnancy trope.
However, this book is very much readable and holds the attention. There’s a lot of creativity in plot devices. (I never expected certain things to happen and some of it was wild.) I also like that the major characters are definitely gray rather than black and white morally, and the author is not afraid to explore the morally challenged and the downright dark sides of the characters and their choices and motivations. One of the major characters was cheating on his Ol’Lady, for example, which in many romances means that they would automatically be a bad guy, but the author is not afraid to go there.
So the book gets four stars and an A- from me, and I think I’ll try more of this RBMC chapter.
Cat’s Stats

Genre- Dark MC Romance
Length- 350+ pages
Heat- open door, explicit, virgin heroine, a lot of talking.
Series? Y
Safety? Aw, HE11S no
Triggers- Oh, son. *sigh*. The RBMC tends to be edgy and this one leaps off the edge of safety into a whole pool of triggers.
Main Tropes- One Night Stand, Surprise Pregnancy (due to some serious logic issues at time of conception involving to a lack of prophylactic items), Brother’s Enemy.
It's the first book I've read by Ms. Kelly, but I love the RBMC books, so I thought I give this one a read.
I did enjoy the storyline, the hatred between the Bloody Scorpions and the RMBC, runs through the book. So it's a surprise when Ainsley, the sister of Roman, the enforcer for the Scorpions, goes on a date with Reese, the enforcer for the RMBC, which was set up by her friend Nova, the daughter of the prez Boom Boom.
Ainsley wants to take control of her life. When Roman arranges a marriage to a prominent politician's son someone she doesn't particularly like, she wants to lose her 'v' card her way. But the choice she makes and with whom causes a knock-on effect between the 2 enforcers especially when she left with more than happy memory of the night she spent with Reese. Loyalties are brought into question, and retribution is sought.
Reese has shied away from relationships after the devastation he felt after losing his full family in his teens. He can't put himself through that heartache again, so even though he likes Ainsley, and craves her body, he keeps her at arm's length, using who she is.
Roman can't believe what his sister has done and with whom, he has to choose between his sister and the club. Roman loves his sister, he has been her world since losing their parents. But his loyalty is tested when he finds out what his president and 'supposed' brothers have done.
Will Roman and Reese, put aside their hatred for one another for Ainsley's sake? Can she be the person who brings together the 2 people she loves the most?
A story of love, angst, retribution, loyalty, and betrayal. The RBs live up to their name, but these alpha males can be brought to their knees when there is a woman involved who steals their hearts.

She grew up with her over protective brother. His MC is his life but he wants her to have no part of that life, so he is pushing her into marriage. She wants no part of it but doesn't know how she is going to say no to the brother who has done everything for her. So she hopes to at least claim one thing for herself. She wants to have her first time with someone of her choosing, to have one wild night just for her. Her friend hooks her up with an older guy from her brother's rival MC and she has a great night, hoping for a great morning too. But when he wakes up and sees the photo of her with her brother and realizes who she is, he storms out not intending to see her again. Her brother is not only the rival MC but also responsible for his ex girlfriend's death. Weeks later she finds out that their break isn't as clean as he would have liked, and she is pregnant. She has to tell him and figure out how to move forward. She also has to tell her brother and she knows that isn't going to go well so she needs all the support she can get. I love a good MC story, and there are good elements here, but it is also crazily chaotic. You start out with the rival clubs, you throw in additional clubs, with crazy members everywhere, MC drama, then you add in situation with her brother and how that gets resolved….and how awkward that is to work with in the story, and then the very odd way that gets resolved for him. I don't mind some violence, especially expect it in an MC story, but this particular event was just disturbing, only added to by the focus given it through the rest of the story. I could have pulled all of that out and enjoyed the story more. I liked the characters and their back story, I invested in them in the first part of the story or I might not have finished this one. Too much chaos, one or two antagonistic arcs is enough but this was a runaway train with them.
When I start an MC romance, I expect certain things to just be there. Misogyny, loser men, and cringey dialogue. I honestly have not read a single MC romance that has not had a least a little bit of all three, although it's usually more than a little bit. One Night With the Biker was no different. This was over the top, both with dialogue and just characters overall.
I cannot in any way explain but it gave me the vibes of an early-2000s YA dystopian. You know what I mean? Like, only the FMC is the decent character (debatable since Ainsley refused to grow a backbone) and everyone around her is out to get her or just a hateful loser overall? Holy hell, if a little bit of fantasy had been added to this, we could have dubbed Ainsley "The Chosen One" and it would have fit. Those cringey vibes did not stop me from eating this up. I will say, there is not a single male character in this that is worthwhile. Reese's attitude and behavior towards Ainsley from start to finish was gross. He was such a waste of flesh (metaphorically since he's fictional.) Even Roman was nigh on useless, although sometimes he pissed me off less.
The writing is good for what it is. The plot is fun but trigger warnings need to be checked. The author did not have any in the print or Kindle versions which is pretty messed up since rape and sexual assault were constantly mentioned or threatened or implied. I had a great time reading it despite all the deadbeat dudes.
*sighs I'll just say it is what it is and in this current season of my life this kinda fu*kery behavior (in my reading material) just does not sit right with me. Ainsley is young and immature. I just couldn't sympathize with her and her decisions. Why would you sleep with someone THAT YOU JUST MET without protection based on the rhythm method explained to you by your friend? The justification was she never steered you wrong in the past. WHAT KINDA SH*T is that?
The amount of people taking dirt naps just desensitized me to death in this entire book.
There was literally no respect for anyone without a penis in this book. Women were purely tools.
I made it through to the end, which was ablaze with gunshots and all that. If you don't like to be infuriated - don't read this book. :)
Reese and Ainsley story. this story took me for a ride. I have read alot of MC stories and this one captivated me. although apparently this had characters overlapping previous books I wasn't lost. I understand the FMC position as well as the MMC. Ainsley is 21 about to be married to a politician who her brother wants her to marry because he does not want her involved in the MC world. Nova is Ainsley bff also the daughter of the president of the MC. she sets up Ainsley on a blind date with the friend of a guys she is seeing because she wants to lose herr virginity on her terms turns out he is of the opposing MC group. this leads to trouble with a capital T. they do the do and when he accidentally finds a photo of her brother and her and sees who he is he leaves her with a message of lose his number. the drama grows and the story will hold you until.the very end. love it
This book was okay. I found Ainsley to be very immature and followed Nova too blindly. She worshiped the ground her brother walked on, and believed everything that Nova told her. She didn't seem to have a thought of her own and I found it to be irritating.
Reese had his own issues with his guilt over Trinity, even though he really didn't love her. I felt that he thought she would be someone he could have to come home to, but there really didn't seem to be any love for her. Only a friendship of sorts. Maybe just a warm body to go to bed with.
I liked the book, but feel it's a three star read.
First time reading this author. This is a new chapter in the RBMC. They're the Kansas City chapter, and holy crap balls is this one action packed. Reese is the enforcer for the Royal Bastards. Ainsley is 21 a, in my opinion, very immature. Her brother, Roman, is the enforcer for the Bloody Scorpions. What could possibly go wrong. Nova is Ainsley best friend, maybe. I couldn't stand Nova. I'm hoping she gets what's coming to her. Ainsley sleeps with Reese and then... Shit I almost gave it away. This was a good book. There were just some issues I had, but I would definitely read this author again. I'm hoping there will be a book about Roman.
Reece is the RBMC SAA. Still feeling raw from the loss of his girlfriend at the hands of a Bloody Scorpion he agrees to go on a blind date to appease his Road Captain’s latest with her best friend Ainsley.
After an incredible night, he wakes to see a photo of Ainsley and a Bloody Scorpion and the words big brother written across it, he quickly dresses and gets out of there, 3 months later, she has a secret and doesn’t know what to do with it.
This book was an okay read. For some reason this story was just hard for me to get into. I love MC books and the darker side they tend to have. The overall disrespect the men had for women really bothered me. I’m sure that was kind of the point in this book but I just didn’t like it personally. There is a ton of action and hands getting dirty with steamy scenes too. Definitely not a boring read. I received an ARC for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’m a fan of Kathryn’s writing and whilst different from her other books this is another great read. Reese and Ainsley have a one night stand after a blind date set up by his club brother and best friend whose side piece is Ainsley’s best friend. She thinks it could actually be the start of something till she wanted up alone and realised he’s seen the photo of her brother, his enemy. Things between the clubs escalates and she realises she is pregnant to a man that hates her
He lost the love of his life while he was away and has been weighed down with guilt. When he is set up with a date, he never expected that they would hit it off so well but when he sees a picture of Ainsley with Roman, he high tails it out of her place. What he didn't know was that he left a parting gift and now Ainsley has some decisions to make. This heartfelt story had me connecting with Reese and Ainsley. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
I've read several different author's RBMC books, but none as violent or as crass. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, I just wasn't expecting it. The storyline itself was good , and the characters were interesting. Although Boom Boom and Bash are both bat s@#$ crazy! Ainsley and Reese are an unlikely duo who bring out the claws only to get sidetracked. A good read but possibly multiple triggers.

Such a fantastic read, I absolutely loved Reese and Ainsley story ❤️❤️ so much action packed drama, danger lurked for everyone and chaos wasn’t far behind. This is an overall epic read that you’ll get lost in. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
Such an absolutely fantastic book! I loved Reese and Ainsley’s story, it’s full of action, drama, suspense and love. It doesn’t hurt that it’s an MC book, which is my absolute favourite book to read. Kathryn has outdone herself with this book and I highly recommend you read it, it’s definitely worth 5 stars 🌟
One Night With The Biker is Reese and Ainsley's dramatic, intense, forbidden love story and is completely engulfing from start to finish. I love the suspense and intrigue and I love even more the little things that crept out taking readers completely by surprise. Definitely a great introduction to the RBMC Kansas City, KS Chapter!
First time reading the author and I'm impressed. Solid writing. Solid plot. Solid characters. This is my type of book that has spice, darkness and danger. The only reason I did not give a perfect rating is because I felt it drag a bit in the middle and also on the other hand it ended abruptly(not sure if I'm making sense but yeah). I'll absolutely read the series given the chance
How this has such a high rating is beyond me. The immaturity shines through this book and I gave up after 30%. The FMC and her friend are exhausting with their ridiculous bickering. Worst book I’ve read in awhile. Could of been amazing but soo much was not needed and it’s just satire on most points of the story
That was pretty good!! It was a little confusing in a few spots 4 me but overall it was goo. I enjoyed it. It might have been a mistake cause of miscommunication but can Reese and her talk things out and work something out? I was really surprised toward the end cause of who their rival has always been but yet a few things could possibly change. But is it 4 the better or worse?
Thank you Kathryn C. Kelly! One night with the Biker kept me intrigued I couldn't put it down until I was done
Our surly MMC Reese meet his match in our talkative FMC Ainsley it's just a pity is is the little sister of his swore enemy. The twists and turns in this book kept me engrossed and invested in the characters including Ainsley's brother Roman.
I loved reading this book. There were times I wanted to kick the FMC and the MMC. I definitely enjoyed reading their journey. I hope there is a second book about Roman FMC's brother or Louisiana and Jinx. I do wish that was an Epilogue, that would've made this a five. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I gave it 3 because I liked the plot and plenty of drama. The rest I did a lot of eye rolls and humphs with the story. Who would want a best friend like that? I didn’t care for the female bashing so much. I get it’s bikers but they don’t have to be that way. I mean I love a good bad boy but not like that.
I really enjoyed Ainsley and Reese's story. They both got on my nerves at times, but the moments where I was rooting for them overshadowed that. Nova and Louisiana made me want to punch a wall, and Jinx deserves 10x better. Roman is my favorite character, and I hope he gets a story. 5/5.
one night with the biker: Royal bastards mc: Kansas City, KS
I enjoyed reading this author’s novels. The book was amazing and compelling, there was a lot of murder and mystery. The ending had a great twist and a good story.
This book is an amazing read that will grab you from the first page and keep you reading till the end. It moves along at a great pace, has interesting characters that you will fall in love with and a story that will not disappoint, keeping you interested and needing more. A must read.
I’ve been waiting for a hard core biker book and this is it. I was pleasantly surprised when characters from my favorite series popped up. Mentions of Outlaw are always welcomed. I would love more of Louisiana and Jinx.
Amazing Royal Bastards story and my first from this author and not my last, Ainsley and Reese are amazing characters, I loved the chemistry, action and suspense. I enjoyed the background characters, Loved Roman, I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
