Saving Memories

Rate this book
Much of who we are depends on our past experiences and our memories of them. For seventeen year old Amanda Heller to become the person she is meant to be, she must return to the psychiatric ward where she was held as a child in an attempt to save her memories.

The Power Series of Short Stories is an ongoing collection of complete and individual short stories with a greater overall story arc. The Power Series will not be connected solely be theme and it will not simply be a retelling of a single event from different points of view (though that may occasionally happen). Characters and storylines will often overlap to push the overall story arc along. The Power Series is a series, not a serial. There will be no cliffhangers (unless I decide to break a particularly long story into more than one part, in which case I will give fair warning) and understanding one story will not be dependent on reading previous stories. Because each short story in the series will be a complete entity unto itself, they do not have to be read in any particular order. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee that they will not be written or published in any particular order. Reading a single Power Series story should leave you satisfied that the story was complete but, like all good stories, it should leave you wanting more. And I hope you’ll want to read the rest of the series.

I was born in 1971 and grew up in suburban Chicago. As a child I was diagnosed with Dystonia, a debilitating neuromuscular disorder. Though there is no cure for Dystonia, surgeries and rehabilitation allowed me to walk with only a slight limp by the time I started high school. I received a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Anthropology, both from Northern Illinois University. As an adult a brain tumor, completely unrelated to my Dystonia, threatened to disable me a second time. Thanks to radiation therapy the tumor has disappeared. I currently live in Phoenix, AZ.
