It's been a long time since I've read a Wattpad-published book. Really, really long time. Why did I pick this one up? Who knows? All I know is that one moment I'm wondering why I've left this book after reading 7% of it last year and the next one I'm already half way through it. What I can say is that the writing surprised me - I loved it. The characters develop so much throughout the story and I connected with them immediately. There was just enough of humor, sibling-friendship, dark aspects such as anorexia, mental issues and death for me to completely let myself get lost in the story. Also, the main character is a bad-ass who isn't afraid to say no or to call out idiots on their double standards. Yes,just yeeees. I'm giving it 4 stars because I'm sad that both Emily and Parker didn't take time to think about some things before actually doing them and unintentionally hurting each other. But there are amazing supporting characters and a really healthy and cool female friendship. And that epilogue. *squeel*
This was okay - I thought the writing was mediocre compared to other novels, but good compared to other Wattpad stories. The plot was honestly very cliche, and I felt like it was a little predictable.
I feel like Emily and Parker were characterized better before they got together - I really enjoyed their banters and sexual tension, but after they got together, their dynamic sort of lost the feel for me.
I also don't really like Emily's character; she called other girls sluts and whores and while people argue that it's "true", I would say that it was about respecting other people and not passing our own judgements on who they are.
This book is about a girl that come back from London to live in an apartment with her brother and someone else she didn't know but little did she know that, that person would be the love of her life. What kept me reading thins book was how Emily looked at her self differently then what others saw her.
So I know this is a wattpad story and I cant really critic like I do other books. Normally, I just read wattpad for the story and not the writing. But the writing in this story was really good actually better than most wattpad authors and since this was a watty winner too, I thought I would love it. But I didnt end up liking it. So I know its a 'thing' with stories having main characters with lots of baggage. Normally, it doesnt bother me but its just that every single main character(Im not just talking about the hero and heroine) in the story had some kind of baggage, and I mean the heavy kind of baggage and sometimes, it was just too much. Halfway through I wanted to give up but since I already read half the chapters, I didnt want to make my effort go to waste.
First off, I didnt feel any kind of chemistry between Parker and Emily. What ever hope I had that I would ship them were gone the moment Parker slept with another girl the day after they decided to 'take a break', yes the day after. I was so enraged and I know he had issues and dark past and all that, but that is no excuse to treat a girl like that esp, a girl with anorexia..
The story could have been better, maybe the author should have focused more on their relationship. Maybe then I would have been swooning over Parker in the epilogue... Instead I was like.. Meh...
It has been a long time since I've given a book 5 stars.
The book was moving sluggishly upto second last chapter since when it came to an abrupt halt.About the ending,It was as if Knightsrachel realized that the wattys award proclamation was the next day and wrote those last couple of chapters in one night!
I saw a couple of brilliant twists in whole, and the writing was really relaxing and witty.
Though this book deals with Anorexia and Self harm, those didn't spoil the general mood of the book.
I had a genuine smile plastered all over my face through out the book. It's hilarious. And it's a girly book.

Goodreads rating: 4 stars
Parker, again, reminds me a bit of Elliot (Saving Elliot), but he’s the most caring-bad-ass-hiding-his-feelings I’ve ever read about. He does everything for his family despite everything he’s gone(and going) through, which isn’t just a little something.
I like that this book deals with disorders/issues (bipolar disorder, anorexia, asthma and also a kind of split family) and it’s doesn’t feel like it’s written by a teenager or someone who just hit their 20’s. It’s a read you don’t want to put to your side. :-)
In the beginning you don’t know anything about anybody’s intentions and reasons. But you get to know them. And just like in every book there are conflicts, up’s and down’s and of course a sweet relationship. Who would have thought that, huh? :-D Oh and wait did I mention the smartass responses? It’s a bad boy story with a strong(okay, mostly.) female main character so there are some great scenes involved!
All in all I really enjoyed this book – I mean it’s a bad boy story!? – but it wasn’t one of my all-time-favourites, so I gave it 5 out of 4 starts.
I honestly wanted to like this book. I really did, I swear. But I can't stand the MC.
Emily Winston has been through a lot. She was anorexic, I do understand that. That is a terrible disease to suffer from, and it brings pain, fear, uncertainty and so many struggles. But the way she treats other girls is 100% unacceptable. She calls them 'whores' 'sluts' 'bitches' and everything under the sun. It's massively disrespectful. Wow, they wear revealing clothes. The world is going to end.
And I felt like the romance between Parker and Emily was severely strained and it seemed forced.
The author did try, and the writing was better than expected, so I bumped it up to 2 stars, though in reality, it's more of a 1.5 stars rounded up.
“Next time you want to talk shit about someone, know your facts first. Because for your information, I didn’t travel to London for a year. And I am certainly not a daddy’s girl.” In My Brother's Best Friend Emily has just returned back from London after a year overseas. When she get back she is greeted with welcoming arms by all, well all except her new roomate Parker Adams. I really enjoyed the premise of this book but I thought it moved way to slowly. There were parts that had me swooning but also parts that had me hating Parker. When she gets back from England it is clear that she wasn’t sent away just so she could have fun but Parker seems to think otherwise. I think that this scene reminded me of what I have experienced through high school people make assumptions and they can’t be bothered when they are wrong. Overall I did enjoy this book but it was not one of my favorites. I would also be sure to tell readers about the sensitive subjects in the book so they know before reading.

Review - I loved this book it was cute but had dark moments this book involves Emily who was away at london for a year dealing with Anorexia now when Parker and Emily meet again it's not good they are all rooming together Parker is kind of a man whore but I liked parker cause well he's hot nice abbs ;) and he was funny and carring even though he was being a dick because he thought Emily was just a princess but when she explains it was anorexia and then he comforts her when she relapses and when they were on the boat they kiss to win a bet and then they make out on the elevator they end up start dating and then we met Lee his younger brother who has his own set of problems and Parker is his guardian cause his parents and girlfriend died and his has all this stuff on him they end up breaking up which was bad for both of them cause they both hooked up with people and then she ends up saying drunk that she's in love with him and Lee is dealing with self harm again and Parker and Emily get back together they end up going to Disney which was so cute to read Emily's first time at Disney when Lee ends in in the hospitable for trying to kill himself I was crying my eyes out I felt so bad for him and there was a risk that they would take him from Parker but he got him in the end I loved this story it was dark in some parts but I loved it . Favorite quotes- to you, you're just a piece of art , he said his eyes boring into mine . But to me , Emily winston , to me and everyone around you , you're a masterpiece .

This book started off great and really fun, then the writer kept on stalling! I liked the characters as individuals, but not together.I just didn't feel the chemistry or love or whatever you call it between Parker and Emily and things happened so fast between them like one second they were just friends insulting each other and then the other second they were a couple making out! but as a whole it was a good book with little flaws and it's full of humor and sarcasm.
I really loved it ! I thought it was cute and I really loved the ending. I didn't hate the book, although I didn't find it in one of myy best interests. But overall, I recommend this to teens 14-15+ and those who love humour, romance and drama. Very heartwarming.
Plot: Emily spent a year in London for school and then came home to her apartment which she shared with her twin brother, Emmett but, what she didn't know was that his best friend, Parker moved in while she was gone and she didn't particularly liked that Emmett didn't tell her that Parker moved in and especially seeing as she walked into his room by accident and then found out that they had another roommate who she doesn't particularly likes but, soon when they are basically forced to spend together seeing as they live together now they both start to feel something for each other. And soon realize maybe living together isn't such a bad thing.
Personal Response: I think Emmett should have told her that they have a roommate then she wouldn't of been so against having another roommate and it didn't help that she didn't particularly like the guy either.
Characteristics: Emily she really does grow as a person because before she thought Parker was just a playboy who would sleep with any girl but soon realize that he more than just that, that in reality he has only been with one girl and that she shouldn't judge off of what others say.
Recommendations: I would recommend this to a mature audience mainly because they do cuss a lot and talk about mature stuff a lot.
This books has topics such as anorexia, suicide, bipolar disorders, as well as other disorders so if any of those topics makes you uncomfortable, I wouldn’t recommend this before. Overall, this book has a well written story line and kept me engaged throughout the entire read. While there were some grammatical mistakes, the book was still a good read. I really enjoyed it and was always interested to see what was going to happen in the next chapter. I would have liked some answers as to friends and family members that were in the book the entire time up until the end. Kind of left many of the characters out of the closing chapters.
*3.5 stars* I loved this book, but I didn't like all of the underage drinking that was in this book, obviously I know there is a lot of underage drinking in the world but I felt like it was a little over done and almost glorified in this book. Also the time in between chapters and breaks was way too much. One chapter prom was a week away and then there was a little break and all the sudden it was prom! So much more could have been put in. And not enough information was given due to the huge time space. But I did still really enjoy this book.
The book was okay. It just lacked the passion and romance. At certain instances it was soo dull that I had to muster all my courage to read it. I hate the books where the characters don't have enough scenes to develope their relationship and ends up falling in love. The book was kinda lame at times nothing was happening. The story was like, the girl returns from london. She hated her brother's bff( which we don't know why). They live under the same roof. Voila, they start loving each other.
