What happens when three English ladies are shipped off halfway across the world as mail order brides? EVERYTHING! Three sisters, Penelope, Constance and Eloise go from a posh lifestyle outside of London to Clear Creek, a nothing of a town full of quirky characters, crazy live-stock, and bumbling villains! Penelope is the first to wed, (August, Prairie Grooms, Book One) and learns her prim and proper ways don’t have the impact she expects on the locals. Then it's Constance's turn, (Ryder, Prairie Grooms, Book Two) who finds that patience is a virtue, especially when one marries before her future husband has had a chance to finish his house! Now, it's time for Eloise to wed ...
Eloise was the least adventurous of her sisters, and thought she wanted a life of peaceful serenity alongside a quiet man, one civilized and genteel. But did she know herself well enough to stick to her own assumptions? Yet alone, the man she was going to marry?
Seth Jones gave the appearance of a dutiful, yet bumbling hotel clerk, while his brother Ryder was considered the rugged hero, one who’d saved his wife and himself from death. How could Seth compare to that? Worse, how could he allow his future bride to know he’d done things, things that would probably make her scream and run the other way?
She was his mail-order bride, but was that fact enough to make her want to marry him if she ever discovered his past?
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
“Darlin’” what can I say it’s a Kit Morgan book. Her books are just plain fun! We visit the Weaver family from previous books and Tom Turner is here from many previous and books to come. Seth is the Prairie Groom to be married in this book to an English young lady, Eloise. Outlaws come and interrupt the smooth running of the town and by the end of the book...well you’ll have to find out if they have been caught or not. All Kit Morgan books are clean reading, darlin’. 😉
Seth and Ryder are brothers that sent away for brides. Ryder got his bride, now it is Seth's turn. Seth falls for his bride, they marry, and then the brothers along with other town folk start searching for seven evil men.
And Kit Morgan will be my current favorite author until I have read everything she has written. I love the humor and realness of her characters. The banter is a great source for good belly laughs.
Another great book in this series! Seth comes across as a genteel man. More refined than the rest but there’s something lying beneath the surface that’s a bit different and his intended Eloise can see it. Eloise is still worried about the curse of their past following them to Clear Creek. It’s obvious to her with the danger that her sisters have already been placed in. This makes her question whether she and Seth should marry. It’s a slow courtship compared to the rest and they do slowly fall for one another. The story isn’t without excitement. Then ending leaves us scrabbling to turn the pages to find out what happens. Can’t wait for the next!
This is the story of Eloise(the third of the first three cousins to be sent by Duncan from England) and Seth, Ryder's brother. It's a good story and she builds them as completely distinct from their siblings' stories. She adds an additional storyline of Thackeray Holmes who is now changing himself into a man named Cutty. It looks like his story will be in a later Prairie Grooms book.
Yikes! What good story telling’. This episode of the Clear Creek soap opera starts off with Eloise Sayer and Seth Ryder. Eloise has a “feeling” something isn’t quite right with her intended, something he is hiding from her or not telling her about his past. The feeling doesn’t leave but she is still committed to the marriage. Lots of action going on and ends this episode with someone finding God! This is good!
Heroine who doesn’t know what she wants, and a hero who, suddenly, is more than he seems.
I found this story much less interesting than the previous two books in the series. It is also, if my recollection of the previous books is correct, even more in need of a good editor and copy editor and proofreader than the previous books.
There is more to Seth than meets the eye. He plays the mild-mannered hotel clerk, but he and his brother possess some mad tracking skills! He wants to find the men responsible for almost killing his brother, but Eloise doesn't want him to put himself in danger and leave her a "widow" before they even marry. Grandma Waller shows off her chaperoning skills again!
Each story in this series just gets better and better. There is a love 💘/ hate relationship between me and Cutty. He is a real cur but then he does something good. Grrr I sure hope the outlaws get what is coming!
I am enjoying every page of this charming series. Seth and Eloise's story has been the most engaging and surprising tale so far. The ending shocked me and I can't wait to start the next book in the series.
Definitely a 5 star. It leaves you satisfied and yet anxious to see what happens next. It draws you in and makes you feel a part of the family. A good book to read while sitting on the front porch on a hot summer day drinking a cool iced tea.
Loved the book!! Eloise knew that Seth was keeping a secret and she knew he was acting different!! She herself was feeling insecure that Seth couldn't take care of her if trouble happened!! They definitely learned about each other and to trust!!
So Kit Morgan is the author that I stumbled across last year that introduced me to the whole mail order bride/western historical romance/kindle book thing. I have loved everything that I've read by her and this is no different. You really can't go wrong reading any book by Kit Morgan.
