The cover of this anthology really intrigued me due to a life time love or obsession with elephants.I had never seen a painted elephant before so I had to take a look. I can honestly say I have never read an anthology like this one. It's more of a multi sensory experience than a mere book. East Asia comes alive with beautiful photographs of the region while the poetry gives you little known insights into the different countries which travellers rarely see. Also, in a further departure from traditional anthologies there is a brief section at the back of the back explaining various terms and events mentioned in the poems which was very useful and I actually learnt some interesting facts about India and Nepal. Some of the stand out poetry of this anthology for me comes from the Indian poets Aditya Shankar and Sunil Sharma. I recommend this book as an interesting, unique anthology for adventurous readers.
