Baking the Demon: A Spicy Paranormal Romance

Rate this book
Magdalena Mendez has her hands full. Her bakery has gone viral, the Coven's winter solstice party is fast approaching, and she’s desperately in need of help. Romance? That's a complication she doesn't have time for.
But when Constantine Claudius the Third, a demon with a sweet tooth, walks into her bakery, things take a complicated—and tempting—turn.

Constantine’s one serious weakness is sugar, and his mother always warned him it would be his downfall. He just never expected it would come in the form of a gentle witch with a knack for baking and a smile as sweet as her cupcakes.
What could possibly go wrong between a demon and a witch? Maybe more than they think, but surely his mother didn’t predict this.

I’m Maria Robin, an author of cozy fantasy romance with a touch of spice—where love, laughter, and a bit of magic mix like the perfect recipe.

If you're looking for stories that whisk you away to enchanting worlds, full of swoon-worthy characters and delightful adventures, you've come to the right place.

I write stories filled with warm-hearted witches, mischievous demons, and the kind of romance that feels like curling up with a freshly baked cupcake and a cup of enchanted tea.

Each of my books blends heartwarming moments with just the right amount of spice, so you can enjoy a little magic and passion in equal measure.

I'm a proud Latina, so my characters are as well.

I hope you love my stories as much as I love them.

I hesitate to be the first to rate the book and set a bad tone for future readers. There were a number of word use errors and I'm not entirely sure if it is because the book was not written in the author's first language or if this is an example of the usage of AI while writing. I'm not invested in any of the characters and don't intend to read future books in the series.

There's a huge conflict brought up in the beginning regarding witches/warlocks segregating themselves by choice from the rest of the magical community. This is set as one of the main hurdles in the book, yet it is resolved in a page. There are a couple of potential background storylines added in, but they're either never brought up again or not expanded upon. By the end of the novel, we really know very little about any of the characters, how the magic works, or how the magical races interact.
