I'm a work in progress who adores dark chocolate, the fresh mountain air, and the sound of rushing rivers.

I enjoy the salted breeze from the ocean, and the warmth of the sun heating my body as I sit on the rocks listening to the waves and gulls. Just thinking.

My mind is a chaotic mixture of realism and dreams, tempered by my four spirited children and creative husband.

I'm a multi-genre author at the whim of my erratic muse. I'm a yoga enthusiast, natural food lover, and I love body art.

I enjoyed Pierce's Hot Lunch series with Samantha and Ryan so I was happy to see her continue the series with another sexy couple in the form of Katie and Philip. I was pleasantly surprised at how Pierce connected the couple as friends to Sam and Ryan. Consequently, their attraction to one another felt authentic and not just one of those man sees woman -- man wants woman -- lust and lots of sex ensue -- and the confessions of "I love yous." We've all read books like that and although we can suspend reason for some fiction we can recognize how artificial it feels.

But back to Katie and Philip...

Although Room 306 is book one in a serial you will not feel at all cheated with this story. Ok...I take that back...you might in one way but I'm not telling you :D. The story was short, sweet, and sexy. The sexual tension between Katie and Philip is palpable and you can feel the steam pouring off the pages. Pierce has built this story so that the relationship between the couple builds at a reasonable pace and I enjoy the fact that they are spending time to get to know one another inside and outside of the bedroom.

I can't wait to see what they do in Room 69 *big grin*.

From the beginning, it was very obvious that Philip and Katie were attracted to one another. After their first kiss, I was silently yelling at them to get a room already. However, things moved a little slower than I expected, and I was surprised when they didn’t both go to Katie’s room at the same time. I was holding my breath to see if and when Philip would follow her lead, but he didn’t…at least not yet. I felt bad for Katie, who ended up in her room, drunk, because she felt that he’d turned down her offer and was ashamed of herself for even considering the idea of being with him, (ladies, we’ve all been there, right?). However, when Katie realizes that he did in fact want to be with her, I loved how confident she was in front of him the morning after.

Now, as for ER’s erotic writing between these two, it was pretty hot, and I wanted more–a lot more. This weekend I’m going to read “Room 69,” (Katie and Philip #2, which is book 5 of the Hot Lunch Series), and will have that review up next week.

If you’re looking for a sexy and quick read that you can read one on sitting, I highly recommend this book. I give “Room 306″ 5 stars!
