Digital Relevance teaches readers the knowledge, strategies, and skills need to create content, instantly engage customers, and compel them to action by sharing ideas so seamlessly matched to each audience's context that they can't help but take next steps toward purchase.
I saw the author Ardath Albee speak at Content Marketing World 2016, and loved her session, so decided to pick up her book. This is one of the few non-textbook marketing books that I have read cover to cover. It is packed with useful, relevant information and gave me quite a few good ideas that I can implement in my role. Given the fast-changing nature of digital marketing, this book is amazingly up to date. I hope that Albee is working on a new edition, and will include more in-depth information and examples on account-based marketing.
I first heard of Ardath Albee through the Marketing Book podcast (I am trying to go through their archived episodes) and was very impressed with her approach. She seemed to be answering all the issues that have pained me at work, one after the other. I picked up this book thinking there has to be more to absorb.
Wow. I learned more from these 230 pages than during my MBA. There's an incredible amount of useful information that will not only teach you how to think about marketing in our digital time, but will also show you how to roadmap your work into being what she calls "digitally relevant." Such practical information that you can start implementing immediately, including how to team with sales, map your content, establish workable personas, score leads, and even how to approach the dreaded ROMI.
This is my second read and I have barely scratched all there is to learn from Ms. Albee. I am a massive fan.
This is my new book coming out on January 6th. It's a strategy and execution guide to help marketers develop the skills that will ensure their content marketing programs are relevant to their audiences, even as buyers and customers continue to change and adapt. Digital Relevance challenges marketers to look beyond the out-dated campaign mindset and embrace a continuum approach to engagement that moves the needle to help you prove accountability with higher performance.
I hope you like it and I'd love to hear what you think.
