Melodie never wanted an open marriage. But when her husband gave her a choice—agree to it or divorce. She chose survival. With her job as a kindergarten teacher barely covering her medical bills, losing his health insurance wasn’t an option. So, she stayed, watching the man she once loved cycle through women like a revolving door, until the last of her feelings for him withered away.
Then she meets Declan.
A towering, tattooed billionaire with a sharp wit and a disarming charm, Declan Mckenna is everything her husband isn’t—attentive, kind, and utterly captivating. One night at a bar turns into something more, and for the first time in years, Melodie remembers what it feels like to be wanted. Cherished. Loved.
But when her husband realizes he’s no longer the only one enjoying their “arrangement,” he doesn’t take it well. What starts as manipulation quickly turns dangerous, and Melodie is faced with a choice of her own—stay trapped in a life that’s slowly killing her, or risk everything for a future with the man who makes her feel alive.
One thing is certain. Declan isn’t letting her go without a fight.
The Love Ultimatum is a steamy billionaire romance. It includes a forced open marriage, explicit content, and profanity. Recommended for mature readers only.
Antonnette Roberts is a self-proclaimed coffee addict who enjoys listening to romance audiobooks because her self-diagnosed ADHD makes it impossible for her to sit still and actually read anything longer than a Chinese food menu. She lives in her head most days, where she is busy conjuring the next adventure she wants to write about. She enjoys the beach, long evening walks with her kid, and is completely enamored by any and everything coffee-related. She once bought a number of coffee-infused chocolate bars, then processed to eat them over the course of an entire week, and was unable to sleep for the entirety of said week. She regrets nothing.
Okay, I love a good BWWM IR with a relatable heroine and a ginger (!) hero. This delivered deliciously! Ms. Roberts delivered a swoony, clutch my pearls love story amidst betrayal heartbreak. We knew it was coming, and the bad karma to the ex was satisfying as well as the good karma to Melodie and Declan!
Let me start off by saying that I am not into romance novels. But I will indulge myself every now and again. This novel was a very quick read, fun and engaging. I love the karma at the end of the novel. It gives the respective character what they deserved.
I wont give out much, but if you like a fast pace, exciting, sex filled romance novel, this is the book. You will enjoy. The reason it isn't given a full 5 star is because there were a some grammatical mistakes (more than a few). But aside from that, it was a good little romance novel.
This was SOOOO good!!! Usually in these contemporary romances, the male love interest always has dark hair and golden blonde hair. I don't think I've ever come across a story with a redhead, and this was so good. Also, can we all collectively shout "YAAASSSSS!!!!" for that karma at the end? So happy Melodie got everything she ever wanted. Amazing read!!
