Bracken MacLeod is the Bram Stoker, Splatterpunk, and Shirley Jackson Award nominated author of the novels, Mountain Home, Come to Dust, Stranded, and Closing Costs, as well as three short fiction collections including LET NOT YOUR SORROW DIE, coming this fall from Bad Hand Books. He's a former litigator who used to represent victims of domestic violence, sexual harassment, and racial discrimination.
He lives outside of Boston with his wife and son, where he is at work on his next novel.
A solid modern horror collection with themes of grief and societal decay threaded throughout. My favorite stories were Pigs Don’t Squeal In Tigertown (because I like biker gangs) and A Short Madness (because I like horny priests).
A solid collections of stories that vary in quality but believe me, when they hit, they HIT. 'Back Seat', 'Pigs Don't Squeal In Tigertown' and 'A Short Madness' really stand out. But each tale in this does a good job balancing humanity and the monstrous.
A collection of macabre tales, which I loved! Some intense and disturbing content but the wide variety of stories appealed to me and kept me reading late at night. Looking forward to reading more from this author!
