I absolutely loved how unique this story was. It was painful reading Jolie in the beginning, because I think her low self esteem and need for self harm (because let's be honest what she was doing with the eyeliner was emotional harm) hit close to home. It was heartbreaking.

I would have loved to get to see her and Sirs relationship evolve in the real world.

Fast paced and easy to read. Not my typical type of read but the spice was good and story entertaining.

Not perfect, but compelling, entertaining, and spicy

My only criticism is that the formatting of the ebook could use some work. I struggled a little to navigate dialogue and paragraph breaks and what not.
But none of that mattered because the story was so sweet and spicy and entertaining! The mmc doesn’t have a lot of character development, but the way it was written was perfect because all the focus was on the character development of the fmc and it was really compelling and emotional.
I can’t speak to the accuracy of the bdsm and pet play, but it was handled respectfully and it was very believable!
I really enjoyed losing myself in the story, and I look forward to more by Newmon

Training Sweet Jolie hit exactly the kind of dark romance notes I was hoping for. For a debut, it is impressively confident with a mix of stalking, obsession, and tender emotional rebuilding that should not work as smoothly as it does, but somehow Newmon pulls it off. Jolie’s journey as an introverted divorcée trying to rebuild her sense of self felt grounded, and the slow burn way Sir guides her into a new kind of confidence gave the story a warmth that surprised me. The pacing stayed tight, the chemistry hit hard, and this ended up being one of those dark romances that is addictive in the best way.

The darker elements, especially the stalker angle, definitely pushed toward that boundary where you start to question how far it is going to go, but it never crossed into territory that broke the spell. Sir’s morally black profession and hacker background had just enough depth to make him stand out from the usual obsessive MMCs I have seen in this genre. The behind the screens tension added a predator meets protector feel that kept things suspenseful without losing the emotional core of the story. Even the BDSM, Dom and sub, and degradation scenes which normally are not my favorite were handled with a slower, more intentional touch that made them far more palatable and surprisingly enjoyable.

For a little over 200 pages, the character work is solid. I would not have minded a bit more backstory for a couple of side characters, but the book gives enough to keep everyone interesting. The writing style is clean and polished, especially for a debut. You can feel that Newmon really took her time shaping this story. And the ending? Perfectly wrapped. I closed the book feeling satisfied, which is exactly what I want from a dark romance like this.

And yes, the peach scene is absolutely iconic. Worth the read all on its own.

A Dark, Addictive Read I Couldn’t Put Down

Training Sweet Jolie surprised me in the best way. Jolie is a beautifully written, emotionally scarred heroine trying to rebuild her life, and I genuinely rooted for her from page one. When “Sir” entered the picture, the story took a sharp turn into darker, more obsessive territory—and that’s exactly where this book shines.

The dynamic between them is intense, unsettling, and completely captivating. Sir is the kind of morally gray character you’re a little afraid of but can’t stop reading about. His fixation on Jolie is both terrifying and oddly tender, and I loved the push-pull between vulnerability and control.

The pacing is quick, the tension builds steadily, and the online-to-real-life connection adds an extra layer of intrigue. I would’ve loved just a bit more depth in certain moments, which is why it’s not a full five stars—but it’s absolutely a story that sticks with you.

She's been left feeling unlovable after divorce, he's determined to bring her back to life.

She falls into his world when hers is falling apart. His obsession to make her his pet may be the very thing she needs. This has references of domestic abuse, stalking, and dominant/submissive relationships which are all very well written. Please check the trigger warnings.

I devoured this short, action packed, steamy story. The way the MMC is written had me falling in love by the end! I highly recommend this for dark romance lovers.
