Liza & Walker

I am sssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooo over Kelly Elliott's monotonous books!

I love the romance that only she can give but no! Please just think out of the box a little, please lady.
I don't even have faces for my characters because it all feels like exactly the same person repeating the story with a different name!

This is the result of me reading 3 Kelly Elliott books right after each other.
I am on overload... Makes me wanna read BDSM just for some tough love.

I could puke ugh!
Melo-drama to the max as always...

Liza and Walker made a promise to wait for each other and they ended up dropping this promise because it became too hard to focus on school and how much they couldn't focus.
Then a few years down the line they are done with college and both in "almost engagement" relationships and they then realize that they love each other too much to be with other people.

Broken Promises was the third book Broken Series and I would rate it a 4 star. I have read many books by Kelly Elliott and this book was another great romance! I loved the chemistry between Liza and Walker they will heat up your kindles. I had no doubt I would love this book because everything she writes always captures my heart in one way or another. Even though this is apart of a series it can be read as a standalone. I would most definitely recommend this book to others. I actually don't think there is a book by Kelly that I wouldn't recommend she is just that good!

Liza and Walker have known each other since they were born. They always had an intense chemistry between them but for one reason or another it never worked out for them. One day when they are leaving for college they make a promise to each other to be together in the future and wait for one another. But when both make a decision that maybe they should date others while they are away they both fall in love with someone else. When college is over and they head back home for one last summer they will realize that maybe there is still something between them... but can they let go of the other people in their lives to finally try and have a future? And if they do try for a future together will there pasts have a way of creeping up and destroying what they could have?

Broken promises will be made and consequences will be had... but in the end can they mend those broken pieces and finally have and HEA?

Get your one hot clicking finger ready because y'all know you going to buy this book its Kelly Freaking Elliott you would be crazy not too... she never disappoints and the woman can write about seriously hot cowboys! Thanks for another great book Kelly!

"Promise me Something...Wait for me, Liza."
"I promise, Walker, I'll wait for you."

Taylor Elizabeth aka Liza Morris and Walker Moore were best friends all of their lives, then developed secret crushes that blossomed into young love right before college. Their parents are best friends and they lived on neighboring ranches with intertwined family businesses. Going to separate colleges and the years apart brought new relationships and opportunities.

But a summer at home away from some distractions brings up unresolved feelings of first love along with confusion, lust, longing, guilt, hurt and fear. They both have decisions to make for their futures and are being pulled in different directions. Promises made to each other, other people, and themselves cause mixed feelings.

Promises we'd made to others were the only things holding us back.

My heart hurt though out the whole book. I wanted Walker and Liza together. I hated the people interfering. It was frustrating, tense, and heartbreaking to see them struggle. They were good people, that did not want to hurt anyone. They knew what they really wanted, but miscommunication, misunderstandings, and fear often clouded their judgment and affected their choices. They were also both so afraid of rejection and loss that it caused insecurity and avoidance.

Walker was a truly likable hero. He had a little bit of alpha in him, but was also loving, tender, passionate, and protective. Liza was smart, sassy, and caring, but sometimes seemed to get talked into doing what others wanted versus following her own mind. Together they had chemistry, a strong connection, and shared history and family values. But they found themselves in situations that were difficult because they were caring people that honored their commitments and did not want to hurt other people. But at times they only ended up hurting themselves and each other in the process. There was avoidance, resistance, and advance and retreat. There were times of anger, jealousy, heartbreak, guilt, and remorse.

And even when things seemed to take a more positive turn, they still had challenges and conflicts to face. Some they could face together, but others had the potential to further damage their future. But there were also happy moments too. I always felt like these two were truly meant to be together if they could cut through all of the external drama and get back to the core of their true connection and feelings.

"Follow your heart...I promise it will always lead you down the right path." (Courtney)

It was told in both Walker and Liza's points of view and also included flashbacks, so we saw their thoughts and feelings over the years and the build up of their shared history. This is a story of love that could have been easy, but instead took a longer and more bumpy road. Walker and Liza were likable characters even when they could make some questionable decisions. But they were sweet, passionate, and loving and valued their families.

Layton and Whitley (Broken) and Reed and Courtney (Broken Dreams) were their parents and it was fun to see them still so much in love and such good friends. They had their own difficult journeys towards happiness, but were wonderful, supportive parents. I enjoyed their interactions with their offspring and they often gave sage advice.

"Everything happens for a reason, son. Every road you travel down is because of a decision you made. Some decisions are good, some are bad. Learn from each one. But don't look back in regret. Always look forward in anticipation of what could still be." (Layton)

Walker's sister Ava and Liza's brother Jase added more support, humor, and depth to the family and I expect we will see more with both of them in future stories. These siblings were a tight knit group that had grown up together and were truly close friends. And the antagonists in this one definitely annoyed and angered me. There was an underlying element of suspense along with the general drama and angst surrounding the romance and relationships.

This was a heartfelt journey of love, friendship and family in the back drop of their families' Llano ranches. It brought back characters from the Broken series that I have come to love and I enjoyed seeing into their future and spending more time with them.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Oh my gosh I think this was my favorite in the broken series so far!!! I fell head over heels for Walker and Lisa aka Taylor. In the beginning of the book these two make a promise before leaving for college to wait for each other. Of course as time goes by promises get broken but love never dies between these two. We get both character’s POVs and the feelings these two still have for each other even though both are in relationships with someone else. I knew right away I did not like Walker’s girlfriend Jessica one bit and Lisa’s boyfriend Keith wasn’t much better. I wanted to shack these two sometimes to get their heads out of the clouds and back where it should be. Finally when these two are back on the right track some crazy things start to happen. I love how Kelly takes us on a thrill ride but everything seems to fall into place just when you think they won’t. I can’t wait to read more from Kelly she never disappoints.

3.5 stars. I think I would have had a much different opinion of this book if it hadn't started off with the main characters committing their lives to each other, then a year later (and just a few pages later) uncommitting their lives because of the long distance between them in college, and then very shortly both talking about engagements to other people (even to the point she decides to wear the other guy's ring even though she hasn't formally accepted his proposal). Of course, we all know the H/h are going to get back together before the end of the book, but this beginning left a bad taste in my mouth (or brain, or whatever).

Walker and Taylor Elizabeth "Liza" have been childhood friends... that promised to be together before going off to college.

By the time they see each other again, they are each in other relationships and pining for one another.

I loved the intensity wanting and needing of these two
.. .. I hated their boyfriend/girlfriend, btw.

**Childhood friends to lovers 💕
**Crazy exs
**Slow burn... 3.5 yrs

Broken Promises by Kelly Elliot is the third book in the Broken Series. This book focuses on the story of Layton and Reed's children Liza and Walker, who had loved each other in some form or another since the day that they were born. This book was a 3.5 star read for me and I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a good romance that takes place in the heart of horse country.

Liza loved Walker for as long as she could remember and when he finally expressed that he felt the same way she was over the moon. Each going off to separate colleges, they promised to wait for each other, believing that the love that they had was strong enough to survive. Unfortunately before they ever became intimate, Walker put the breaks on their relationship and they remained friends, but not the same type of friends they once were. Each dating someone else pretty seriously, Liza having received a proposal she had yet to accept from her boyfriend and Walker making plans for his girlfriend to move to Llano to be with him while he worked on their parents farm, they grew apart not really knowing each other in the same way they had before.

Once Liza saw Walker again after almost a year, every feeling of love she had for him came rushing back and she had tremendous guilt about it as she was wearing Keith's engagement ring, at his request, even though she hadn't given him an answer to his proposal yet. Walker had feelings for Liza that he was unable to deny and he began to feel guilty because his girlfriend Jessica was supposed to be moving in with him once she returned from her European vacation with her mother.

With the interference from both of their parents, Walker and Liza were pushed together in very close quarters on more then one occasion, each wishing that the other was not in a relationship. Not wanting to cause the other unnecessary heartache, they each kept their feelings to themselves until it became too much to bear. After each breaking up with their significant other, they began the relationship that they had always wanted, one filled with tremendous and unconditional love, support and adoration. But how long would that last? When Liza starts getting threatening messages from who she believes is Keith, they both become worried for Liza's safety. Is Keith the one who is stalking Liza? And why is he doing it? You will have to read to find out!

*** 4.5 Stars ***
Broken Promises is the third book in the Broken series by Kelly Elliott. It can be read as a stand alone novel or in series order. The Broken series is a fantastic series that gives the reader outstanding stories packed full of emotional angst, red hot chemistry, and steamy romance.

Liza and Walker have known each other since birth. They were meant to be together. When they are about to leave home for college they make a promise to one another to wait for one another and finally get together as a couple. But promises can be broken. They both forget the promise and begin dating other people. They both end up falling in love with someone else.

At the end of their college career, they both return home for the summer before moving on in their lives. They realize that they still have an emotional pull to one another that is stronger than they realized. Should they explore these feelings and try to finally have a relationship? Can they let go of the ones that they have committed their love to? How can they have a perfect future together when their past may come back and destroy them? Any way you look at it, promises will be broken.

Liz and Walker have tough choices to make. Promises to break, promises to keep, and promises to make. Can they find their happiness or will they be shattered by the Broken Promises.

Broken Promises was fantastic. This book had my emotional radar going beserk! Kelly Elliott never disappoints her readers.

I highly recommend Broken Promises.

The first two books are the parents but this one is years later for their children. Walker and Taylor/Liza have known each other their whole lives as their parents are best friends and work together and pretty much share each others lives. Before they leave for college Walker asks Liza to wait for him. She promises but couldn't keep it. Now college is over and they are both involved with other people. But can they stay away from the one they truly love? Nope!
It took some time for both of them to realize it and confess their love for the other. A sweet, sexy read and a wonderful ending. I love that there is an epilogue to these stories because it adds so much to their HEA.
I'm glad that she is continuing these stories with the kids. Ava's story is next. Looking forward to it.

Honestly what's not to love about a Kelly Elliott book! It's always nothing but greatness when you combine amazing characters, a great love story, some steamy sex scenes and of course a crazy ex (need to have some drama in there). I have almost read all of her books and it just makes me wish I lived in Texas on a ranch with super hot cowboys who know how to treat and love women. I can't wait for Ava's book, I only wish Jase and Taylor's (from the Wanted/Love Wanted in Texas series) book. Overall another fantastic and amazing book....must read!

Walker is so much like his daddy Reed. And Liza is so much like her mama Whitley. And together they make a hell of a team. They have their ups and down, highs and lows, and end the end- come out together. There’s laughter and tears but mostly their HEA.
I think one one my favorite lines is where Walker is thinking about his son and what he wants to teach him. “Fishing, hunting, the ranching business. How to smile at girls and make their hearts melt and, more importantly, to treat girls with the upmost respect.” Now that is his daddy Reed and Uncle Layton all over.
This is a great book. Another must read by Kelly.

In true Kelly Elliott style a series would not be complete without giving the reader the story of the next generation. With this book we get not only Taylor who is Layton and Whitley's daughter but also Walker who was born to Reed and Courtney soon after. But they are now all grown up and both feel that their friendship has turned into so much more but neither of them are willing to let it be known as they do not want to ruin what is already there. With pages filled with turmoil, angst, love, loss and hope this was another fabulous read from Kelly Elliott. I cannot wait for more in the series!!

Well I read this book for the second time in less than 24hrs so to say I liked it would be an understatement. I really did love walker he drew me into the story and I loved the snippets from the previous books about their parents... although I did notice how some parts seemed to drag on and then there would be a spike of drama only for that to be glazed over very quickly. I just felt like some things had been added for the sake of adding drama and didn’t really add anything to the story. But alas I still loved it and am now looking forward to reading Ava’s story for the first time.

Second chance love one of my favorite generes of romance. Taylor Elizabeth Morris and Walker Moore grew up as best friends doing everything together. They have that connection their parent founds but fight it due to distance. Both Taylor (Eliza) and Walker must deside if there love is enough to fight for or if they are better off moving on with there lives separately. Kelly Elliot does a great job portraying their struggles and fears as they find there forever.

I enjoyed this one more than the first two. Not sure why, I think it had more of the feel of the Wanted series, plus I really enjoy the friends to lovers story line.

Timeline: at the end of this one it mentions Taylor/Liza's brother Jace being in France and falling for Taylor (Brad and Amanda's daughter) which is the last book of the Love Wanted in TX series.

I waffle between 3 and 4 on this rating. I love the characters and Ms. Elliot has some great plot lines but I think there are too many in one book - renewed love, deal with current love interests to renew love, almost die, surprise pregnancy, stalker etc. It is so much for one book.

Just why

Why did you stop with Ava what happened to Jase? So you start a series and don’t finish it. That’s not a good author.

Walker stood, pulled me up and brought me close. When he placed his finger on my chin, his eyes landed on my lips and I fought back a moan. He leaned down and brushed his lips against mine. We shared that first kiss slow, yet full of passion. Our tongues danced and we both moaned as Walker pulled me against his body.

When he pulled his lips away, he whispered, "Promise me something."

I swallowed hard and whispered back, "Anything."

Walker looked into my eyes and smiled. "Wait for me, Liza."

There are a few authors that I worship and read every single word they put out, Kelly Elliot is one of them. Broken Promises is the latest book in Kelly's Broken Series and I am absolutely over the moon about this book. I was literally up all night reading because I had to find out what happened or I wouldn't have been able to sleep.

Walker Moore and Taylor Elizabeth "Liza" Morris have grown up together. Their parents are best friends and even work together on their horse ranch. Liza and her brother Jase and Walker and his sister Ava are a tight group having grown up together.

Walker was always there for Liza. When she couldn't sleep, he'd sneak into her room and comfort her. So, not surprisingly, their friendship takes a different turn. They have feelings for each other that are so strong, you won't be surprised when Walker acts on them. It's like they were born to be together. So when they finally kiss one night, it's like no feeling they've ever felt before. You know that lightening bolt, earth spinning off it's axis kind of feeling?

Unfortunately, Liza and Walker go to different colleges and decide they can't do the long distance relationship thing. Let me just tell you, when you read about how passionate they were in flashback scenes, you may need to take a cold shower. Walker is holy hell hot. The naughty things he says to Liza will make your toes curl.

Now, fast forward three and a half years. Walker and Liza are both coming home after graduating from college. Don't get excited....They're both with other people. Liza's boyfriend Keith has given her an engagement ring and wants an answer. Walker has a girlfriend who is pressuring him for a ring. My heart was literally broken because as the reader of course I was in their heads and the love they have for each other was so strong, I couldn't bare to read about each of them with someone else.

I obviously am not going to give away the storyline because Broken Promises is an amazing book and I wouldn't want to ruin it at all. Let me just say there are twists and turns in the plot line and something that I absolutely did not see coming. This is why Kelly Elliot is like my idol. I started reading the Wanted Series after a good friend (you know Emily) told me about it. After I fell completely in love with Gunner Mathews I haven't been able to stop reading.

Speaking of book boyfriends, OMG...Walker Moore is absolute perfection. Tousled dark hair with dark blue eyes that sometimes look gray, a hot body with a broad chest and some hot ink peeking out of his tight tee shirts and you have one phenomenal book boyfriend. Not to mention the complete hotness of his naughty side. That being said I've found so many book boyfriends this year, I may have to expand my list from ten to fifteen. One thing I know for sure is that Walker Moore will be making an appearance.

I need to give a shout out to Kelly Elliot for the way she writes and includes family in this book (really all her books). Walker and Liza's parents are ever present and super supportive all the time. They know how their children feel even before their kids do. And huge props for making both sets of parents still so in love after all the time they've been together. I wish I grew up in Texas *sigh*.

Five huge lip smacks for Broken Promises Kelly Elliot, you hit the ball out of the park with this one!! So go one click it now!! I personally know I will go back and read Walker and Liza's story again, while I wait for Ava's book to come out!!
