Fergus is a teenager, damaged by his past. When he discovers that the one person he had come to love has also betrayed him, he sets out to find her in the west country village of Middlehempston. He teams up with an escaped killer dog, and this unlikely doomed pair become a force to contend with.
Gillian White (b. 1945) grew up in Liverpool, England. She has written sixteen novels under her own name, which are known for suspense, Gothic thrills, and satiric views of contemporary society. She also writes historical romance under the name Georgina Fleming. She lives in Devon, England.
I loved the writing style and the multiple plotlines. Also, every character seemed to be a shitty person, but I only figured that out towards the end of the book.
