Sometimes the best things in life are the ones you never see coming.
Brennen Tate is the halfway decent goalie of a losing college hockey team. When he graduates in the spring, he’s heading straight to the mountains—no NHL dreams, no drama. With days full of studying and hockey and nights full of casual hookups, life is exactly how Brennen likes it…until Cooper “Ellie” Ellis upends everything.
Ellie’s a sweet, quiet guy working in the equipment room and crashing in the training room to escape his nightmare dorm. When Brennen’s roommate graduates early and moves out, he impulsively offers Ellie the extra room. No big deal, right? Just a favor.
But things take an unexpected turn when Brennen stumbles across Ellie’s little secret…which just happens to match Brennen’s deepest desires.
This Daddy-little story is full of rock collections, movie marathons, and way too many stuffies for a college apartment. Turns out, home isn’t a place—it’s a person.
Daddies of the League is a college ice hockey shared world, where you’ll find Daddies both on and off the ice. Skate into your newest obsession and grab them all.
they were simply made for each other! i really liked how their hockey team wasn’t the best but they still tried hard and focused on their craft, i love an underdog story!
i really really really hope matt and rafe get a book, im intrigued.
ellie and brennan were actually so perfect, everyone could work on their communication but no notes otherwise!
I found it hard to mark this book. I probably should have Googled the terms fully before taking it on, instead of assuming this was another hockey romance. My fault.
This book wasn’t for me, and that’s not a slight at all on the author’s writing skills but rather my lack of understanding of the topic. Some of the language just doesn’t sit right.
It’s hard to mark a story without taking this into account, but I’ve tried to mark on the writing style, set up, and execution of the story rather than the characters’ relationship.
Things I found good about the story: The author writes expressively, some of the story was funny, and I found the relationships between the side characters endearing too. I enjoyed the hockey side of things; it’s kind of nice to not have a hockey team that’s in the NHL and they’re just playing for the love of it. I couldn’t quite understand why everyone seemed to have it out for Ellie and I would have liked more reasoning behind Wojak’s behaviour. People can just be arseholes, I suppose, so maybe he didn’t have a reason. 🤷🏻♀️ I liked the fact that they had supportive parents on their side and eventually we get to hear from Ellie’s dad too.
So yeah. The writing was good but I just couldn’t get my head around the kink without knowing more about it or Googling it properly, and it isn’t explained in any depth within the book so I went in sort of blind. Each to their own. I have nothing against what people get up to, it’s just not for me.
—————————————— I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
At the beginning, I really enjoyed the slow build of Brennen and Ellie's relationship; who doesn't like a story like that, a popular guy on campus who took interest in someone who tried to be invisible? But as the story went on, the pacing became too slow, and I started to lose interest, and I find it weird for Brennen to call Ellie "kiddo." "Baby boy" is acceptable, but "kiddo"? Nah.
That said, there were definitely some highlights. I loved how supportive Brennen's parents were. Finally, Ellie's dad also came around in the end, which was nice. Matty, who I initially thought was a jerk, turned out to be a genuinely good guy with a younger brother, Benji, who was little. I also got the sense that Matty might have had romantic feelings for Rafe, their hockey captain, who was also a little.
I hope both Benji and Matty-Rafe will get their own story.
Icebreaker was the sweetest surprise—I absolutely loved it! Brennen and Ellie are so soft together, and their connection felt real, tender, and full of heart. The Daddy-little dynamic was handled with so much care, and all the small details made this story feel like a warm hug.
A cozy, low-angst hockey romance that’s as comforting as it is swoony. I’m obsessed!
Sweet and cute. I love reading about two people finding themselves while finding each other. So often we are told that we have to have ourselves figured out before we can be in a partnership and I think that that’s wrong because in a partnership, you can be figuring out yourself and growing together and still have everything you need to be the best for each other. That’s what this story was about. Two guys, knowing who they are, but actually getting to be their whole selves with each other. Great story great writing. My only complaint is the ending was a little confusing of what they were actually going to do or what their plan was for staying together and then the next thing I know its the epilogue so I wasn’t exactly sure what happened in that part.
For future: Dual pov No cheating/sharing D/b relationship with age regression Relationship before Strict role on page
Icebreaker by Kerry Kilpatrick is the 8th book in her Daddies of the League series. It is the story of a confident college hockey player and a shy equipment manager who have a first time Daddy/Boy relationship that turns into much more. Brennan Tate is the Ranier State Lumberjacks goalie who is a sociology major with a criminal justice minor. He has no desire to continue his hockey career and just wants to help people by becoming a sheriff in his hometown of Tannenberg, Washington. His team isn’t great but they work hard and want to win. Cooper Ellis, or Ellie, is a work study student and the only work available at the time was being an equipment manager for the hockey team. He is an information science major with a concentration in library science. He doesn’t really fit in there as he is shy and quiet but he needs the job to stay in college. After a game Brennen and Ellie sit together on the bus and watch a movie. Brennan’s roommate didn’t have a good semester and had some failing grades so he decided to move out and go to Vancouver until the summer semester leaving Brennan with the apartment all to himself. Ellie was staying in a very loud dorm and his roommate brought his girlfriend home every night so it was very difficult for him to study and get enough sleep. It came to a head when his roommate told him stay away for a night so he decided to go to the rink and sleep on a couch there. That is where Brennan found him and was not happy with his situation so on a whim invites him to stay at his apartment and he and his teammates help him pack and move. Ellie is not the most organized person and gets distracted easily, has a stuffed bear, and likes to watch cartoons and Disney, all of which are sending signals to Brennan that he might be a little. Brennen knows all about them because his father is a college psych professor and researched sexuality so nothing has been off limits in their discussions. He also thinks he might be a Daddy. Things went on as usual but Ellie was giving off more signals and one night Brennan caught him in a onesie and later found a pacifier which sealed the deal. After inviting him to a team dinner he knew he wanted to be Ellie’s Daddy and confessed he’s never been a Daddy. Since Ellie has never had one before but is excited to have one, they discuss how they see their relationship and decide to give it a try. He gets a chore chart with stickers, a to do list, and a set of rules that they make up together. Ellie has never been with anyone before so his first everything was with his Daddy B, starting with a kiss and moving slowly on to more steamy activities. Brennan made him feel secure enough to regress and they slowly fell in love. The team was also behind them, standing up for Ellie when one of the players was mean to him, and he also met some guys that were also little. Brennan was a year older than Ellie so they had some decisions to make about their future. He had gotten accepted at the Sheriff’s Department which was his dream and had to go to the Police Academy for his training so there was some time where they didn’t have much communication, but Ellie was living in the apartment with the friends he had made and was able to finish his degree and get his dream job, too, all while being with his Daddy B. I really enjoyed this sweet story. Ellie was quiet, shy, kind, and sweet but having a tough time in life and growing up he didn’t have much support. Brennan was a caretaker through and through while also being confident, kind, and considerate. They were just what each other needed. Their friends also supportive and helped them out and their playtime scenes were sweet. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like Daddy/Boy stories with a young first time Daddy and a sweet Boy who needs taken care of while in college in order to make their dreams come true.
I didn't realize this book was part of a shared world series when I picked it up, so I can say with certainty that it can be read as a standalone. I love it and I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the series for stories about some of the side characters I loved in this one.
Brennan is a hockey player not set on going pro, but tries his best anyway. Ellis is one of the equipment guys and doesn't have an athletic bone in his body. At first glance, they are polar opposites with nothing in common. But once they get to know each other and start to open up, they realize how perfectly suited they are.
I thought Brennan loving hockey but not making it his whole personality was a nice take on the usual sports romance. It's a different side to college sports, but more realistic since most of those guys don't go pro. He still had goals and a plan. He is a year older than Ellis, who also has goals, but is less certain how to go after them and struggles to manage is day-to-day.
I also loved that despite their age, these guys had a strong understanding of who they are and what they want. Brennan is a caretaker daddy not interested in corporal punishment, but understand the importance of patience, rules, and boundaries (seriously, I took some parenting tips from him lol). Ellis is a little and knows that side of himself well, but is shy to let show. He struggles to relax enough to be himself and Brennan gives him the perfect safe space to do that. I couldn't quite get a grasp on how old Ellis's little is, but I didn't feel like it really mattered.
Despite some blips in communication and misunderstanding, the story is low angst, super sweet, and spicy. I loved it and thought the characters were well developed and well rounded. There were several side characters I really liked as well.
Brennen/Daddy B & Ellis/Ellie It's always fascinating and fun to me when I get to explore the differences between Daddy/boy dynamics with and without age play. I've read many on both ends, and they're all endlessly fun.
Ellie was a really fun and sweet character to discover. He had so many doubts about himself and his worth, and it was so undeserved. His general being and personality exuded that sunshine he was meant to show & express, but he couldn't shine until Daddy B took him under his wing and helped him let his little out. The moments written when Ellie regressed to his little space were really fun, because it was easy to see where it was going, and sometimes even how far. Those moments gave Ellie clarity and happiness, and enforced and invigorated his worth in the Daddy/boy relationship he had with Brennen.
Brennen was really interesting because he hadn't previously been a Daddy, but exuded those mannerisms in his everyday life. He knew of the dynamic, and understood a little of it, but he really grew into his role with Ellie, and it was surprisingly sweet to watch. The depth of understanding and love the two men had for one another as their relationship developed was really entertaining to experience.
I loved the short bits of moments we had on the ice, because they were intense and I felt like I was there in that moment. Especially the last game with Brennen in deep goalie mode. The description of his focus and concentration--and the control over his motivation to keep the puck out of the net-- was incredibly vivid.
I loved Icebreaker, and I love all Daddy/boy stories from Kerry that I can get my hands on. The dynamic is always fun, and it's always one that keeps me on my toes while reading. I sure hope we'll get some follow-up stories for the other potential couples stemming from this story.
I received an authorized copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
I had previously read another book by this author (it was "Will") and since I enjoyed it, I decided to check out her other books. I really enjoy sports romances, so the fact that one of the main characters in this book plays hockey in college was big plus. Reading the book description Ellis (the other character) seemed very sweet. My only hesitation was the Daddy/Little kink. I read all sorts of smut over the years, so I decided to give it a shoot and to read it all the way through to rate it properly. After reading it I can say that this kind of kink in books is not for me. If you like to read about Daddy/little relationship than that's great proposition for you, but I am not a fan of that particular dynamic. Focusing on the relationship between Ellie and Brennen, excluding the kink part, I can honestly say that it's a sweet romance that develops from friends to lovers. The author has shown in a great way what trust is in a relationship and how to be open to talking to the other person, regardless of whether we are embarrassed or nervous about the topic of conversation. That's way Brennen is my favorite character in this book. He is a fixer and gives Elli safe space and support so he doesn't have to hide parts of himself. My slight reservation is that Ellie often falls back into the habit of thinking of himself as inadequate or weird. But given his history I guess I can understand that. I would finish by saying that if you like that kind of kink or want to try for the first time to see how it's presented, I would say this is a good book to try.
I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest review.
🏒Daddy/Little 🏒Found and Supportive Family 🏒Hockey 🏒Age Play 🏒Guaranteed Happily Ever After
Brennan Tate, goalie of his college hockey team, has one burning desire: to be a daddy.
Cooper "Ellie" Ellis, equipment manager, has a secret: he is a little.
Ellie has been staying in the ice rink because his dorm roommate keeps kicking him out whenever he wants his girlfriend to come over, which is all the time. Brennan finds him one morning, and Ellie tells him what's going on. Since Brennan has a vacant room, he offers for Ellie to stay with him. They soon become friends.
While Brennan is out of town, this gives Ellie a chance to be his true self and be a little, just making sure he puts everything away before Brennan comes home. One night, Ellie falls asleep without putting everything away. He hears Brennan coming in and grabs all his stuff, and runs to his room. As Brennan is straighting up, he finds Ellies pacifier. When he goes into Ellie's room, he sees Ellie's journal saying how he wishes that Brennan would be his Daddy B. Will this be the beginning of each of them getting what they want, or will the impending graduation end their journey before it really starts?
This is the first book I have read that involves this type of Daddy/Little Dynamic, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I did enjoy their story more than I thought I would. Brennan loves to take care of Ellie.
This was truly something special… the characters were dynamic, the setting a vivid portrait of the PNW that Kilpatrick captures so well, and the plot sweet, cozy, and filled with little moments that stay with you.
Reading this felt like a favorite sweater, the perfect cup of tea, a lazy summer hike, and the inevitable pull of slowly falling in love.
A not-so-ideal roommate situation & needing a place to stay sets in motion the absolutely adorable (and steamy) story of a “halfway decent goalie of a losing college hockey team” and a “sweet, quiet guy working in the equipment room” finding exactly what they’ve always needed in each-other.
With every page I fell in love a little bit more with Brennan & Ellis, but also with sh*t stirring friends, with peaseblossom & tater, with a beloved family cabin, chore charts, and characters who show up for each other.
I found myself obsessed with the unique beauty of loosing records, team captains who love BedKnobs & Broomsticks, “babies” who cheer on Daddy B, parents who discuss kink at the dinner table, and with characters knowing exactly who they want to be.
The perfect cozy read.
What you get: •College Hockey Goalie/ Equipment Manager •New Daddy/Established Little •Offering a room (forced proximity) •First Times •Bi/Pan rep •Reformed Playboy •Jock/Nerd •Found Family
“Turns out, home isn’t a place—it’s a person.” That quote sums it up completely…
Take a very kind young hockey player who has a nice word for everyone and is absolute perfection (cause he wants to be a daddy) and a sweet, messy little and you get an amazing daddy/ little story…
Ellie needs his little time to settle down and to not mess up all the daily life chores because of constantly getting distracted. Well… being little isn’t easy while living in the dorm, constantly surrounded by other people and with a difficult roommate as well.
So when Brennen suggests that Ellie moves in they both discover and fully embrace what they want and need in life. They might be young but know exactly what that is! B wants to be a daddy and oh my! What a perfect daddy he is!!! *swoon* He is attentive, caring and looks out for Ellie - he cooks, makes sure he has his little time every day, takes him to bed at a decent time and never rushes inexperienced Ellie to do anything he doesn’t want! And oh boy, there first kiss is a really “make your foot flip” kind of kiss as is the rest of their story.
My heart is full of love after it. It’s such a lovely story and I didn’t expect anything less from Kerry! 5 stars ⭐️
Nothing more to say… well maybe another quote from daddy B… “I wanted to be his home because he was already mine.”
I read this as a stand-alone, not realising that it's part of a shared universe and I think I didn't miss anything
It's a college age romance with Daddy/Little kink. Brennan knows for years that he is a daddy and Ellis knows he is a Little without a Daddy and no chance for one at college. So when Brennan rescues Ellis from his less than ideal living arrangements things are discovered and their relationship develops.
While this is set around a college hockey team, it's different as Brennan has no plans or dreams to go pro and while there is plenty of on-ice scenes, they are taking a step back compared to the relationship/romance story line.
These two are really cute together. Ellis is definitely in the Little headspace quite a lot. It's sometimes not easy to realise if he is a Little or an Adult. My biggest issue is that some of the steamy scenes are definitely a Daddy/Little scene and that's something I do not really like - but that's on me, not the writing.
I love how Brennan's parents are fully accepting of their relationship and how slowly also Brennan's teammates are coming along, with some surprising discoveries where I do hope I see more.
I am now checking out the other books in this universe.
This is a sweet MM hockey romance, featuring the net minder and all round nice guy Brennan, and the equipment shy and quite guy-Ellis. It features a DDLB dynamic so if you’re not familiar with this then it may be a little much for you! However, having read all of Kerry’s books, I have become accustomed to the dynamic and how it works!
The story is a slow burner, the character development of Ellie is really sweet and endearing and the side characters bring a lot to the story! I also like the little Easter eggs from the “Just A Little” series as well…iykyk! I also liked the fact that these hockey guys are the team that sucked and not the team that wins everything- something different for once on the hockey side!
The writing style was straight forward and easy to follow. The chapters were great lengths and not too long-I don’t like long chapters as I disengage- this kept me engaged!
Although I enjoyed it, this read as lacking a bit of substance- I can’t put my finger on what I want but it was just slightly missing something! Would I recommend it to a friend-absolutely as a palette cleanser between heavy going books!
I would like to see more from this series- particularly about Matt and Rafe!
Part of a multi-author series (Daddies of the League), but can be read as a standalone. Daddy/little. Roommates. Dual POV.
In his last semester of college, hockey player and hopeful future law enforcement officer Brennen offers up his spare room to the cute and kind sports equipment manager Ellis. After struggling with his former roommate, living with Brennen is a dream, not to mention his secret crush on Brennen, but when Brennen discovers Ellis’s little tendencies they embark on a new kind of relationship.
Could Brennen be any sweeter of a new Daddy that may have found his perfect boy? I really enjoyed this story with two inexperienced men finding a deep and meaningful dynamic that builds into a loving relationship. There are no angsty stumbles as Brennen and Ellie embrace each other and their shared needs, as well as finding a special kind of connection. The possible time limit was heart wrenching at times, but almost every moment of this story made me smile. Brennen and Ellie really deserve the HEA they find together. 4.5 rounded up
Icebreaker is a story set in the multi author series, Daddies of the League. Kerry does Daddy/little stories so well and this one is no different. I loved this story! Brennan and Ellie are in college, Brennan a hockey player in his senior year and Ellie a junior studying Library Science. Ellie is the equipment manager for the hockey team and one day Brennan finds him sleeping in the workout room. Brennan offers Ellie his spare room for the semester. Ellie is a little and hiding that part from Brennan takes a little finesse but Brennan finds out. Brennan hasn’t been a Daddy before but he knows that’s what he wants and he really wants that with Ellie.
These two are just the absolute sweetest. Daddy B is so patient and loving to little (and big) Ellie and it is just what he needs. They explore their dynamic and the mountains. Ellie makes friends with a couple of guys from the team and they are adorably named the Three Peas. I had so much fun reading this sweet with plenty of heat story and I think you will, also.
Oh gosh these two were completely adorable. I honestly lost count of how many times I aww’ed while reading this. Ellie is just the sweetest Little. So shy and so kind, and Brennen is the perfect Daddy for him. This was just the perfect book in the perfect moment for me. I really needed some soft boys and these two were the softest. Just the best vibes all round. There was so much to love about this book. Daddy B’s team mates were (mostly) great and supportive. Some of them I look forward to hopefully getting their own stories in the future. I was so pleased when Brennen and Matty made up. He turned out to be a great, supportive friend. Speaking of supportive Brennan’s parents were brilliant. It was so great to see such an open and honest relationship between them all. It was even nice to see Ellie’s dad put in the effort for him at the end Kerry Kilpatrick always writes the best D/L stories

One thing I know, is whenever I read a Daddy/Little book by Kerry Kilpatrick, I am going to love the characters and Icebreaker was no different. Brennen is in his final year at College, as a natural caregiver being a Daddy interests him, but without a Little how will he learn. Ellis works in the equipment room, a scholarship student who to escapes his dorm, is sleeping in the lounge, without thinking Brennan offers him his spare room. This was such a sweet read as we follow Brennen and Ellis as they explore the Daddy/Little dynamic. I really liked that Ellis knew exactly what he wanted and with Brennen offering that safe space, it was ideal. They were so perfect together It was also a rarity to read a hockey book where the team is not successful and that the MC does not dream of playing in the NHL. Whilst the book is part of a multi author series I am sitting here hoping that this book will be the start of a new series as with so many other characters I want to hear their story
Received this book as an ARC; review and opinions expressed are solely mine.
While I normally read the Just a Little series by Kerry Kilpatrick I thought I would step out of my comfort zone and try something new with a college and sports setting. This book was definitely good, but if you are not a spice reader then prepare to skip pages. (One thing I do appreciate about this author is her ability to write in a way that allows you to enjoy the story and connection of the characters regardless of the spice level you want.)
The characters were fun and engaging, nothing seemed rushed or far-fetched, and the parents were nice and normal people.
One of my favorite parts is towards the end of the book where 3 characters are referred to as "the peas" and Tate's dad's interaction with them. I thought it was really cute and wholesome but not distracting in a way that it could have so easily been.
I definitely recommend this book to others if cursing and smut do not deter them.
I received this ARC for my honest opinion. Icebreaker by Kerry Kilpatrick was a fun fast read. I enjoyed Brennan and Cooper’s story. Brennan is a senior hockey player who is sure of himself and knows what he wants from life. He is a playboy and into hooking up mostly. Copper is this shy junior who works for the hockey team helping with equipment. Brennan notices Cooper and asks him to sit next to him on the bus ride home from a game and that is where it all starts. When Brennan finds out Cooper’s roommate kicks him out of his dorm knowing he has to study he offers him his spare room. Cooper is afraid to let Brennan know he is a little and is afraid he will be kicked out. They run around each other and through their story learn to communicate effectively. I highly recommend reading this cute and fun story.
ARC review. Unexpected love interest are the best. I loved Brennen from the start. He's a popular guy, but still is kind, caring and very considerating towards others, which is a big plus. Cooper is the sweetest, but definitely need someone to take care of him. So when B and him finds out they're on the same page everything changes. The way B take care of Cooper is wonderful and at the same time B's getting everything he wants. The way they explore and experiencing a lot of "firsts" together are just amazing. I loved all the daddy-little things they did together and how naturally it was for B to take on the role of a daddy. This was my second read from this author, but I will absolutely seek out more books. It was a very natural, heartwarming read that I enjoyed very much.
A really sweet story, about guys who were looking for something that they found with each other. When Ellis went to college, he didn't expect to be the equipment room worker of the hockey team, but he found a way to enjoy it. Brennen Tate was the goalie, who has his plans for after graduation but is enjoying days on the ice and nights of hook ups. Until, of course, he finds Ellis crashing in the training room due to his nightmare of a roommate situation. So as Brennen's roommate is out for the rest of the semester, of course he invites Ellis to have the spare room. Then they find out they have secrets that fit each other all too well, and fall in love. Though of course it's not quite that simple. Wonderful story and the ending is just perfect and lovely.
I love this book! It felt like such a warm hug. The very best thing about this book is how Ellie and Daddy B allowed themselves to learn how to be a the best Daddy and boy for each other. They came into their own together in a beautiful way. It felt so natural and beautiful.
This was the first book of this shared world I have read and I am hooked on the series. There are so many other stories that I want to read now.
I first read a book by Kerry Kilpatrick earlier this year and I am hooked. Kerry is becoming an automatic read for me.
As an afterthought and my person opinion, Ellie needs an elephant stuffie.
Spice: 4/5 Fun: 5/5 Overall: 4.5/5
Thank you to the author for providing an eARC for an honest review.
Hockey and littles, interesting idea. And there's an entire multiauthor series (8 books). Looks like my TBR list just got longer! I read quite a few Kerry Kilpatrick Daddy/little stories. They all seem to follow a theme of Daddy rescues his boy, giving him a sense of protection to be their littlest self. It's fun and familiar and I thoroughly enjoy it. Brennan is perfect as a Daddy caretaker and Ellie is just the sweetest little boy. Lots of cuddles and stuffies. So much fun. So glad that it was Daddy Brennan who found him in that storage closet! A quick, enjoyable read. Wouldn't mind it at all if Ms. Kilpatrick decided to write stories for the other characters in the book. Not at all. I received an advanced copy and this is my review
Ellis was just so adorable! Literally all of his chapters had me smiling so hard because it was so sweet watching him grow more confident in himself and what he liked as the story went on. Brennen had major boyfriend-material vibes throughout the entire book. I don’t know what it is, but the way Kerry writes Daddies—and how they’re always so attentive to every tiny detail about their boys—is just perfection. Not even two chapters in, Brennen was already worried about Ellis and making sure he felt safe and comfortable in his living situation. He didn’t have to step in, but the fact that he did made watching their relationship grow so rewarding.
This was such a feel good book. Sweet and fluffy, super romantic and with no angst. The characters were interesting and had depth and the pacing was great, I devoured this book, I finished it in a day. I really related with Ellie, his shyness and his inability to get organized reminded me of my self when I was younger. I loved that the author showed that a DD/lb dynamic is more than the physical aspect and it can help people grow and find balance in their everyday lives too. The chemistry between Brennen and Ellie was wonderful and I had a blast reading their journey to their happily ever after. And I hope Rafe and Benji will get stories too. I loved them.
Well where do I start?! This was literally the cutest thing I’ve read in a while. It was full of so many sweet moments. I would totally recommend this 1000 times yes to anyone.
The story had an amazing pace, it wasn’t too slow or fast. It had the perfect flow for a story like this. I read it in one sitting. (Because of course it was that good).
I loved the way it was put together. It was beautifully told and written. I loved the characters. The ending was so freaking cute. Ellie is such a sweet soul. Him and Brennen fit hand in hand. They were truly perfect together.
I can’t wait to read more from this author. I really enjoyed reading this.
Quick Note: 1 got this as an ARC, 2 not a little, so don't know how accurate this is
For me, Kilpatrick writes Daddy/Little the best. The stories show both sides of the relationship dynamic. Icebreaker was intresting in that this was about a first time Daddy. I loved how it showed how B was worried about how to be a Daddy and how he corrected his mistakes. Ellis was a sweet and sassy as all of Kilpatrick's littles. The little cameos and nods to this greater world.
I would love to see a Matty and Rafe story, as well as a Benji story. This story is a standalone but would love to see it expand into a series.
“Icebreaker” by Kerry Kilpatrick is a super sweet and easy read. It’s light and funny with characters easy to fall for. Brennan and Ellie are young men in college who experience a lot together as they get to know each other as acquaintances, then roommates, friends and so much more.
Brennan and Ellis are great but so is the wider cast of characters. I know a lot of people want more when it comes to several characters in this book and I really hope that they get their own HEAs eventually. There was a bit of a cameo at the end with a favorite character from another series by the author and her human. Ifykyk.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
