I never understood the phrase there’s a thin line between love and hate, until Dallas Wesson and I, became us.
The beautiful green-eyed biker with the broken soul tantalizes me with glimpses of the man behind the vest. He‘s gravity. I have no choice but to return to him, regardless of what it costs me. Our story is messy, unconventional, uninhibited, and insane. Still, it’s real, and until now it’s always been more than enough. I’m broken, bleeding out, and completely wrecked. I walk away. Yet, he refuses to let me go. Because no matter how much I resist him we both know what lies between us is for always.

Sooooo....this book was not what I was expecting. The blurb didn't give much out but I read my fellow GR reviewers thoughts on this book and I was expecting a steamy ménage.
What I got was a watered down version of M/F/F/M sex and some girl on girl action that put me to sleep. Not to mention that the author kept jumping from the present to the near past, then again to the present then to a much further pats, then again to a much recent past...it was exhausting trying to keep up when the sex scenes where literally singing me a lullaby to bed time...
Long story short? I do not recommend! (unless you are an insomniac in desperate need of some sleep)

Um.. WHAT? What was that? Oh yeah, it was the book i read: Always...better try never. I don't know how to start my review but i'll give it a shot nonetheless.
Let's start with some facts, first of all the book is wrongly advertised and that's something the writter should be concerned with. There is an audience for everything but marketing a product to the wrong target group may cause some trouble. This is not a story about a couple's love hate relationship, but a swingers wet dream.
And it's not even good. Told by not two, not three but four POV's and always jumping through time, you don't even have to get to the end for your head to spin and burn. Because there is no normal timeline, more of the peresent -which is just a summary of the real story- the past -which is mostly M/F/F/M sex - the past before the past -crazy ass drama- and the past before all -which doesn't even get to be explained cause it's too messed up to comprehend.
A book that could have been so good, greedy, with depth, sad and elating at the same time, turned out as a cheap, immature and yes disgusting at points lukewarm drama.
Even though there are too many problems in here, situations that don't belong in such an emotional story, a screwed up timeline and a main couple that plainly sucks, the two supporting characters save the day in the end. The only silver lining in this whole mess is Danny and Ro, even if i didn't like her at first. I don't know if i will ever decide to read the next part of this series, but if i do, at least this time i would go in knowingly with my eyes wide open.
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK
- Multi POV. - I don't want to sound stuck up, and i really don't mind at all kinky reads but the whole sharing doesn't go hand in hand with the main core of the story and that's what pissed me off. It's totally unnecessary and poorly done. - Great start. - Danny was great. I really want a good end and a good life for him and Ro. I hope they get their chance to do what they really want. - Dallas was an ass, but i understand he had a difficult life. His father was awful. - I liked Cora's father.

I'm not sure where to begin reviewing this book, or how to do so without giving anything away; it was socomplicated and really just confusing. There were times I was like, hmm, this is kind of interesting, then I would think, okay this is just straight up weird and I'm not liking this, but mostly I didn't really know what was going on. Sometimes confusion about what's going on can be appealing because I'm curious about where a story is going, but for this book I stayed confused throughout pretty much the entire story. I do not understand this author's writing style.
What was the most frustrating and confusing aspect about this book was the constant switching of past and present POV. The beginning of each chapter would start with a few paragraphs in the present, and then the rest of the chapter would be some retelling of a past event. Okay, that's a little weird, but what made it almost impossible to get through was how there was no rhyme or reason to the flow of the past events. One chapter it would be some memory from two months ago, then it would be a memory from two years ago, then three years ago, then one month ago. Meanwhile, the first two thirds of the book the present tense was taking part over one day. But the last third of the book took part over an entire month. Confused? So was I.
But wait, there's more. The blurb leads you to believe the book will be about the two "main" characters, Dallas and Baby Girl, aka Cora. Surprise! It's actually kind of about four people, and told through four POVs. More confused? Yes, I was as well. The relationship between the four people felt unnecessary, kind of bizarre, too complicated, and I just didn't like it. There were some aspects of the relationship that made me uncomfortable and something I don't enjoy reading about, but that may not necessarily be the case for everyone who reads it. What I think readers can agree on, was that it made the story way too confusing and slowed down the story severely.
There was so much drama! I know drama is usually welcome in most erotica books, but this took it to new heights. The overarching story, taking place through present tense, was dramatic enough on it's own, but thrown in with that was an excess of drama from past events. It was overwhelming. I couldn't tell up from down, and I got pretty fed up with it halfway through the book. It was never ending, making reading the book feel like an emotionally exhausting chore. Not my idea of a fun or compelling read.
I would not recommend this book. It kind of killed the whole MC premise for me (I know I didn't mention the MC storyline in my review, but it took a back seat to all of the drama and confusion in the book). I don't know who would really enjoy it. There is a sequel, and the book ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger, but I have no motivation to read the rest of the series.

Um... Note to self: more research when requesting a book!
First of all this was just confusing, so many POVs and back and forth between present and past it gave me a freaking headache! Two main lead couples and an extra one being f/f the wives??? I don't get it! Too many people from the start! The story started out nice I guess but at 10% the "leads" were already proclaiming their undying love and making baby plans even though they were almost like bffs/siblings? No.
The MC aspect: NO!
The swinging should have a warning at least that was a shocker and it was at approximately 15% I mean really?! So confusing, all of it! Nothing made sense (I guess if it was erotica) cause the plot was summarizing huge periods of time that didn't help connect with the characters to justify whatever the hell they were doing. Sorry don't get it...
Didn't realise this book was about 2 brothers sharing their women it my mistake as I should have realised as I later found out this author mostly writes ménage but it's not my cup of tea so stopped as soon as I realised the male leads did not have a monogamous relationship.
First if you can get past the past, and get to the present, you have a story. It got much better in the end. I need Cora to get a backbone. She can't keep letting him treat her like crap. Dallas needs to get a grip, he needs to prove himself. On to next, hopefully he does.
I recently started reading for Shyla after I read her quick little MC novellas, and she new I wanted more from her so it's always good to meet new authors, I was well not really disappointed but my expectations were high after the novellas I had read, I thought that the book should have focused on one couple and not have so many points of view, just maybe the main couples. I also got lost a few times, I wish she had the 'past' scenes all together in the beginning and then just move on with the 'future' scenes. I loved Dallas though he's sweet in his own biker way, "eff yes. Why do you think I always had some b**** with me? They were a distraction from the one thing I truly wanted." I also loved how possessive he could be, "it's nothing to be ashamed of, hell I'm glad. I thought I was going to have to go kill a mother effer. When I make you mine, you'll be ready and willing. I promise you that." The cliffhanger wasn't really one, I mean it just pointed as to what the characters will have to do and go through for the next book.
This is a rude, crude, dirty, raw, and gritty book that I devoured from the first page to the last. Cora grew up in Wesson MC club as baby girl cause she was the youngest and from the moment she set eyes on Dallas Wesson he has always been hers. Not until her twenty first birthday did she know that her feelings were returned. From that point on you're taken on a emotional journey of epic proportions. The trials and tribulations that this couple faces along with the smoldering sex leaves you captivated until the last page and days after. If you want a non-traditional love story, where the main characters actually have to work hard and get through so many obstacles to be together, this is it. Shyla never fails to leave us readers completely satisfied and anticipating her next release which is shaping up to be a dynamite series.
This book kept me anxious to know what was going to happen next from the very first page all the way until the end. Then I immediately bought the second book and started reading it too! I felt emotionally invested in the outcomes of the characters' story lines and was desperate to know how situations were going to turn out. Cora and her friend Rowan grew up in an MC along with Dallas and Danny, who were brothers. Danny and Rowan had been a couple ever since their early teens, while the four of them had been best friends their whole lives. Cora had always loved Dallas but he never reciprocated those feelings outwardly to her until she turned 21. On her birthday he caved and told her he couldn't wait any longer. I want to address the foursome scene that I've seen complained about in a couple of other reviews. (Not really a foursome, but the girls get together and then then guys switch girls.) To me, this was not what the story was about and did not affect how I viewed their faithfulness to one another in any way. I believe the author included it as a necessity to show us exactly how close the relationship between these 4 people was. They were intimate on levels most friendships never reach. This was a result of the environment they grew up in that forced them to be there for one another like family and deal with situations people outside of club life never had to deal with. The love making between the four of them just cemented for the reader the nature of their connection. Dallas and Danny are the sons of the current Wesson MC president. Dallas, being the oldest, has been prepped to be the next president from the time he was born. His father may be a good club president but he's a horrible parent. Nothing Dallas does is good enough for him. He puts him down at every opportunity, making sure he's aware that he's not worth anything to anyone. Cora is his savior. He's known that since they were kids. He never felt good enough for her and had hoped he could let her go and get a life he felt she deserved, but he loves her too much to see her with anyone but him. She's the only person to ever believe and have faith in him. The love they have for one another isn't enough to keep away the demons that come along with being a part of the MC. The poisonous venom spewed from Dallas's father has caused him to have anger and self-hatred problems. Those problems pop up their ugly heads in his relationship with Cora. No matter how badly he doesn't want to hurt her, he keeps doing it. Even a strong girl like Cora can only take so much. Add on top of that the fact that Dallas begins to take her love for granted and the result is nothing but tears and heartache. This book ends on a cliffhanger and you will want to read the next one right away. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series and maybe reading books with some of the other characters as the main characters.
I’m torn with this book. At times I loved it and at times I hated it. I didn’t get a chance to really connect with the characters as much as I wanted to due to jumping between the 4 characters, Danny, Dallas, Rowan, and Cora. Cora has always been in love with Dallas, but Dallas liked to play the field, that is until he thought Cora was ready to know just how much she means to him. Danny is Dallas’s brother and he and Rowan are lifelong sweet hearts and together they are all bestfriends. I loved that. The group friendship is amazing. But you never really get that full connection with any of them. We jump from the past to the present from each point of view. The lifestyle which they live is something I’m not familiar with, but by the end I left like I lived in it. Dallas I pretty much hated. He is an ass and Cora is way to good for him in my opinion. And Cora? I know when you love someone you want to give them every chance possible and you overlook things, but come on now. She is to strong a woman to put up with a man treating her like shit. Danny is the complete opposite of his brother he is sweet and caring and always put others first he tries to fix everything. I loved him and Rowan is that girlfriend you want by your side, she is fiercely loyal. Her and Danny are awesome together.
There is a lot of drama and fighting and other character dying but you don’t really get the full experience of those things. Its like we are having to look back from 4 different point of views but never at the same time or period in the past, each character goes back to a different time and in a way it leaves you whiplashed and trying to piece everything together. Its a lot of work to tell the truth.
Now the sex scenes? OMG! Those I loved, and the foursome these 4 have going on? OMG! yes please. We get a lot of sex scenes and I’m BEYOND thankful for those, but they can only go so far. I really wish we stayed in a 2 person point of view and maybe another book or spin off series in the other 2 point of views. That way we could really connect and get to know them and feel close to them. Right now its like I don’t know any of the characters at all, just what someone else told me. I want to leave a book feeling like I made a new friend but I didn’t come away with that feeling this time.
The plot is good and the writing is amazing, but there was just something missing for me. Something lacking. All in all its a good read, and I rate it a 3 star.
I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested in the story. I read it in one sitting. The story has laughs, pain, anger, and heartbreak.
This is a story about a set of MC club brothers and there ladies. Dallas knew he would get Cora. He has wanted her always. But the pain he causes with all his broken beliefs also breaks Cora in the process. Danny and Ro have been together forever. Dallas and Danny have always been close in that they have even shared Cora and Ro. But when Dallas and Danny’s dad, the MCs Pres dies the club falls to Dallas but he leaves not only the club but Cora and goes rouge. Nothing will bring him back or will it…..
This story was a weird read for me between the sharing and the F/F sex scenes. Not that MC books are the same it was just more F/F then I was expecting. The story was good and kept you invested to read until the end but was not expecting the F/F in the story so much. There are flashbacks that can get a little confusing. All in all it was a great read. Book ends on a cliffy.
I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
The story was good but I found all changing from past to present to past to one character to another back to past then to present all a little pointless and it's a little confusing. I will read the next book because as I said the story is good and I liked the characters hopefully the next one won't be as backwards and forwards
So well written. The plot, characters, and the raw emotions just bleed of every page. From start to finish I was in love. I have never felt such raw emotions coming from a book. It hit me right in my heart. I recommend this book to everyone and anyone.
🤮 🗑️ what trash with a bs and misleading blurb. Too many “past” , “x years” then back to current with one too many (unnecessary) POVs.
This story involves another couple or whatever you want to call them. Author added way too much about Rowan and Danny(heros brother) and heroine and best friend Rowan has a relationship…in summary a descriptive orgy fest multiple times and pointless read. I skips the so called sex bc it was that off putting.
Save yourself from reading this or better yet borrow from a friend or the library. Obviously I hate this book …of all the things to make up. I was left feeling disgusted - all characters are losers except the baby
I have received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Cora has always loved Dallas and he always looked out for her. As she became a teenager and on, it seems like he didn't have time for her that much or he was with another girl. It broke her heart.
Dallas' father Rule and Cora's father Rufus were the president and vice-president of the Wesson Rebel Motorcycle Club. Dallas was expected to lead after his father and his father was always hard on him because he wanted Dallas to be able to handle being president when the time came.
On Cora's 21st birthday he came over and said that he wanted to take her out and buy her the first legal drink and then whatever else she wanted to do. As they talked and spent time together, their feelings toward one another came out. Cora was shocked when Dallas told her he'd never really wanted anyone but her and that any of the women hanging on his arm was a distraction to keep him from thinking about her. He asks her how much of a part of his life does she want to be and she told him that there was no one else for her but him. He told her that it would be forever if they got together, he wanted her for his old lady and for her to have his kids.
Rufus, Cora's father, knew this was coming but will not give his permission for them to marry. He feels Dallas has to prove himself first, Legally she could marry but Biker law said not unless a parent agrees. So they are together but unmarried.
Life is going good for them until tragedy strikes. Rule, Dallas' father is killed during a confrontation with another club. Dallas must now step up for his father. He is devastated and doesn't know if he can do it. He decides to leave, "to clear his head" and leaves his younger brother Danny to become President until he comes back. Will Dallas return? Take his rightful place? Be there for Cora?
My biggest negativity with this book is that it is a CLIFFHANGER. I honestly wouldn't have read it if I had know or unless I had the other part of the book. I like my books all together. I was not happy when I got to the end and it just stopped.
The story itself wasn't bad although the style in which it was written confused me a bit. There were 4 main characters: Dallas, Cora, Danny (Dallas") brother and Rowan (Danny's girlfriend and Cora's best friend). It would be told from that characters viewpoint for the present and the past. Until I got to know the characters it confused me as to who was actually talking about who. The editing was fine and character development was good too.
Will I read the other part? I don't really know right now because I'm still frustrated over it being a cliffhanger, lol. I do want to know what happens though.
This is a story of 4 people whole all love the each other in the own way. Its also about a motorcycle club and the roles men and women play in them. But its about one personal stuggle when there not in a happy place the choices they make from they point and on forward.
There Cora who is the daughter of the Vp who in love with her best friend Dallas the president sons. He been groomed all his life to be the next leader of the Wesson MC. Dallas has loved Cora since she grown into a women but he waited for her to be of age because he knows he can rip her world apart.
But there also Danny who the little and smart brother to Dallas and Ro his girlfriend who also Cora best Friend.
Its there story of Dallas and Cora life together but they also have a weird sexual connection with Danny and Ro. There each like 4 points that work together to make a square. But when Danny and Ro move away to go to college and to greater things. Dallas and Danny dad is killed and there on the verage of war. But with all this Dallas is over whelmed and takes off but with him leaving everyone behind how will they all cope with out him.
I like the story of how all these people worked together Cora the girl who knows her roll in the MC and dallas life. Dallas the next to lead but he struggling after his father death. Danny who the buddy and the smart one of the group. Then there Ro who also has brains but power to back it up.
What kind of threw me off was there weird 4 way love/sexual thing going on. I don't read many stories with brother let alone bikers who would share women.
Cora is left struggling with Dallas is leaving, Danny with what role he will play and Dallas lost to the road. Cant wait for the next installment. I did like it but if it didn't end in a cliffhanger sort of ending with seeing what Dallas ends up doing and where Cora leaves I don't think I would read the next installment. The sexual thing really thru me off but the supporting characters are great. I did like the 4 POV of view but the flash backs could get you confused and lost in the story. There was flash back with in another flash back.
Let me start this review off with this, if there hadn't been 4 POVs and bouncing from the past about 2 or 3 yrs ago, then to the present, then to the past a couple months ago and then again to the present this would be a 3.5 star read for me. I really struggled with how it was organized and felt there was no flow, which was incredibly frustrating.
This was my first MC read and it won't be my last. I felt that part of the story was written decently. From what I know about that lifestyle, it's not for the faint of heart so I knew there would be some dark spots in this story. It took me up until 67% of the story to even know why the main characters were upset with what they were dealing with in the present. Then the present sort of jumped ahead leaving me feeling like I missed something. Which is hard.
The main characters are Dallas, Cora, Danny and Rowan. When I read the blurb, it only mentions Dallas and Cora so it was sort of frustrating to find out that this is really 4 main characters. Danny and Rowan are just as important to the story line as Dallas and Cora. But this story is more than just a love story between Dallas and Cora. It's a love story between 4 people. Love and friendship. The sex scenes were ok, but if you aren't ok with swapping or sharing, this may not be the read for you.
I never really connected with any of the characters that much besides Rowan and I think it's because she's the only one I was able to picture in my mind. There wasn't much description of the characters except for her. With some more description this could have helped readers connect with the other characters better.
I really feel that if this was written in a 2 person POV in the present with some flashbacks to help support the story it could have flowed much easier. It's not a horrible read and I'm curious how this story ends (this is book 1 and it ends in a cliffhanger). I may pick up the next in the series.
ARC generously provided by netgalley.com for honest review
This is a new to me author from the blurb the booked looked really interesting so I did request it from Netgalley and was given it for an honest review.
I have to start by saying I usually don't baulk to much at editing issues because when I am deeply engrossed in a story my mind usually corrects them and I keep going. However, there were sooooo many issues with this novel, incorrect words, spelling mistakes, words used incorrectly and we won't even get into the grammar issues. I need to suggest to the publish/author that an editor, beta readers or both give the novel a read and correct the issues before publishing. If I had paid for this novel I would have returned it because there was just too many to be acceptable.
Second thing is, how many POV are too many...this book is an example of trying to tell the story from too many angles and they tend to confuse the reader. There was as many as 4 POV in 1 chapter it was kinda crazy.
Now for more personal issues, I didn't realize the book was a MFFM menage...I didn't mind but was just surprised when the brothers shared their partners. This is my bad cause I would not have picked it had I known...I don't mind MMF or even MMM but just don't really read FF of any sort. Second personal thing was that he book was a cliffhanger which I despise.
Now the good stuff. The story is interesting ...the first one where a generation of biker kids all hang out and connect...like the premise. I like the crazy bad boy hero in biker romances and I liked the juxtaposition of the softer more caring brother and the twist that happens in the last 1/4 of the book. There is so much potential for this to be a rock'n biker story but unfortunately the writing and above mentioned issues just didn't get it there.
I have to give the book a 2 star rating based on the premise but I just can't recommend it when there are so many excellent biker novels to spend your hard earned money on.
Lately I have been reading a lot of MC books so when this one came up on NetGalley, I said why not. Well, I should have gone with a not. Holy Jesus, the book is everywhere but nowhere. Honestly, I was lost from practically the beginning.
1. There are four focuses in this book: Dallas, Cora, Danny & Rowan. Danny and Rowan are a couple and soon after the book begins, Dallas and Cora become a couple. Dallas and Danny are brothers and they share Cora and Rowan .... yea, keep that all straight in your head for a second. 2. The book jumps between past and present practically every page but NOT in just one person's POV. Oh no, they ALL have a POV in this book and they ALL jump between their past and present at different times ... Wait, what? was a recurring thought process in my head as I read the book. 3. Because of all the jumping and different POVs, I really didnt feel connected to anyone. I was just reading. It was very bizarre.
So am I looking forward to the next book which allegedly finishes their story. Not really. I'm not sure I'll invest my brain in it. This book was exhausting to try and comprehend. The whole MC lifestyle was portrayed properly and I enjoyed THAT part of the story, but the four people that should have kept me turning the page, did not. I don't think I could even tell you who this book is about, honestly. According to the blurb it is Dallas and Cora and making it to their HEA ... but yea, I was so disconnected due to the jumping that I really just don't know. I think I should at least be aware of what the end game is with a story when I get done with book 1. Not there. Not even a little.
I have to say I had a hard time with this book. Not so much the content but how it was put together. In this story we meet the four main characters of the story but it took me until a little bit in to figure out who was who.
Best friends Rowan and Cora and brothers Dallas and Danny make up the four main characters of this book. They all grew up as part of the Wesson MC and have accepted what this life has to offer. This is mostly the story of how Cora and Dallas get to the point of their lives that they are currently find them. There have been struggles over the years but at the end of the day Dallas is it for Cora, just as Cora is it for Dallas. The struggles while sometimes very clear, at other times were not as much. Dallas and Danny while living under one roof had very different childhoods making them very different adults. While Dallas is the born leader, Danny is the glue.
I have to say I spend much of this book confused because there was a lot of going back in time. While the past is important to get you to where we are now, the way it was written had me unsure of when in the past we were and even at times I would get confused about whose POV we were in.
I knew going in that there was going to be some menage sex scenes, so those didn't bother me but it made the relationship lines seemed blurred. Regardless of the parts I didn't care for or made me confused, it leaves you hanging and wanting to know what happens next.
*this book was provided to me in exchange for an honest review*
1 star... Wow..I really wish I could rate this better, but this book did absolutely nothing for me. There are just too many things that didn't fit; if they were separate issues, it would possibly move into a 2-3 star book. First: it's not the 'typical' biker book..which could be good or bad depending on your preference. Second: I was so damn lost in the book; it was extremely difficult to keep on track. It bounced back in forth to present day, past, 3 years ago, now back to future, then repeat. I got whiplash with the constant bouncing around! Third: other than "Irish", I really had a difficult time visualizing the characters. There were hints about their looks, but not enough to picture the characters in my head. Fourth: so many characters/hard to Irish's dad..Danny/Dallas..Cora? Fifth: the story revolves the 2 couples that grew up together Danny, Dallas, Cora, and Rowan (Irish). They were the brats of the club, which developed into relationships as the grew older. Not only that, but they are all involved with one another: Dallas/Cora, and Danny/Irish..but then it's the four of them. I found myself skimming the entire book. There was nothing that kept my attention. Wish I could shed a brighter light on this book, but didn't do a thing for me.
Long time Cora was in love with Dallas, he was so close and so distance to her. All she could do is to dream that “maybe someday”. Her 21st birthday was close and Dallas wants to organized some party for her; when he tells her what he planed she disapproved that and tells him that all she wanted is to be with him, not some big parties. On Cora’s birthday Dallas takes her out and gives her the most wanted birthday gift- him! From that day Cora and Dallas became they-a couple. The author give us this story for Cora and Dallas, mixing present and past; mixing Cora’s thoughts and Dallas’s, so we have the picture of their life together, of their love life. The plot is interesting, but there are many curses, f-words and some explicit scenes that I don’t liked so much. To be honest I don’t like that scene with Cora and her best friend Rowan (FF). Cora is interesting character, sweet and honest. She allows to be bringing in some situations from her naivety and love. Dallas is rebel and I love that kind of guys, he was lost in that picture of himself and acts as irresponsible man. This book is good; I rated it with 3, because plot nether characters make me to think about them.
Let me preface this review to read: this is not your typical MC novel. It centers on four points of view. Cora and Dallas have always had a thing for each other, and when she gets older, he pursues her for a relationship. Danny, Dallas’ brother, and his old lady, Rowan, are there for Dallas and Cora in every way.
This MC novel is raw and full of drama, highs, and lows. Cora is portrayed as the mother figure in the club, trying to patch the mistakes Dallas constantly makes, while Danny and Rowan help. If you are not a fan of “sharing” or female-female relations, then this book may offend you.
This novel jumps among the four characters’ points of views and both past and present. At times, I felt cheated by not fully understanding the development of each character. Also, the continuous changing of the characters’ nicknames became a trial to follow, and I found myself having to stop and think which character was being discussed. I would love for some editing work and re-writes of this novel to be conducted because there were scenes that I really liked, but others just fell short for me. I also found timeline inconsistencies as I read.
What happens when the one person you have longed for all your life, finally acknowledges you in the one way you have wanted. Well, for Cora this is both a blessing and probably a curse. She has loved Dallas from afar, wondering if he could, would, or even think about her in that way.
This book is the first book of the series, and Shyla Colt does a great job of building the characters personalities and the roles that they will play in this book, and in book two. This book starts us off with Dallas, his brother Danny, Rowan who is Danny's girl, and Cora, who has wanted Dallas since she was old enough to have feelings for him. Not only do we meet this group, we get to see what makes them the way that they are and the basic family dynamics that they are or know.
But what happens when you are forced out of said bubble and thrown into having to deal with the world as it really is. This is where we have to follow the story and see which direction that she will take us with her writing. I like how she immediately ended book one and picked it right back up in book two. I hope that you like these two as much as I have.
MC stories are my latest craze, and this one does not disappoint: raucous, over-the-top, hardcore errthang!!!! The language is gritty, the sex is rough, and the vibe is all MC!
Dallas Wesson is chasing demons and Cora is his old lady who holds it all down. Love these damn MC books because these dudes are off the chain, and the women ain't much better. I must warn you that this book involves F/F sex and menage/foursomes? I was not expecting that nor was I feeling it cause it just ain't my thang (not knocking it, but a warning would have been nice).
These MC guys are uber-alphas. I mean everything about them is testosterone to the 100th power! I can smell the sweat, booze, and sexual afterglow thru my Kindle lol. Cora loves Dallas's dirty draws, and he loves him some Cora, but they can't get it together because Dallas is too busy trying to live up to his daddy's expectations and do right by the MC. Cora is just trying to hold him down while maintaining some semblance of self-identity.
Good read, a few grammatical errors, but nothing overly distracting. This is Book 1 in a 2-part series, and I'm ready to dig into Book 2 Forever to see how this all plays out.
