A.J. Llewellyn lives in California, but dreams of living in Hawaii. Frequent trips to all the islands, bags of Kona coffee in the fridge and a healthy collection of Hawaiian records keep this writer refueled.

A.J’s passion for the islands led to writing a play about the last ruling monarch of Hawaii, Queen Lili’uokalani as well as a non-erotic novel about the overthrow of her kingdom written in diary form from her maid’s point of view.

A.J. never lacks inspiritation for male/male erotic romances and on the rare occasion this happens, pursues other passions such as collecting books on Hawaiiana, surfing and spending time with friends and animal companions.

A.J. Llewellyn believes that love is a song best sung out loud.

The writing style still feels rushed but the plotline is so intriguing that I didn’t find it as distracting as I had in Artificial Moonlight. Some people don’t care for stories written from alternating point of views, however, I’m not one of them. It’s clearly marked who is telling the chapter so I am okay with the changing POVs, but as I said, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

Colby continues his search to hopefully find his little sister or at the very least find out what happened to her. We also get to meet Colby’s mother, Evangaline, and even though I don’t do spoilers I will say she is no picnic. Let’s just say Colby escaped a close one there when she left him with his father. Not that, Cledus was much of a win for Colby either. Diego is faced with a position that he never wanted but was most likely a long time coming.

Before the last page, Colby, in his heart, knows that his search for Garnet Beauty is not going to be the happy ending he’s been holding out hope for.

This second book of the ‘Rough Riders’ series is just as action-packed and full of twists and turns as the first one. Colby and Diego deal with present gang business (which is increasingly violent), and try to unravel some of the secrets in Colby’s past. They are still better together than apart, but they can’t be openly gay and survive the gang’s judgment.

I have to admit that the story had a few elements that, together with the darkness inherent in a story about motorcycle gangs, made it impossible for me to enjoy at this point. I have liked books like this before, so I am sure it is a temporary thing and I might very well come back to reread it and end up with a totally different opinion. Don’t let that stop you from buying and reading it – if you liked ‘Artificial Moonlight’ you will most likely enjoy ‘Moonlight Seduction’ just as much.
