Not a bad ending for the 7 Deadly Sins storyline. Hopefully the author takes it back to more street level storylines rather than the supernatural but I have a feeling he won’t.

The lengthy seven-deadly-sins story wraps up in this book and it’s powerful stuff, even if the finale felt a bit rushed considering how long the overall story was. Aaron Kuder’s artwork was great, with the exception of a shonky hand or two.

The Seven Deadly Sins arc comes to a close at last, in typical Daredevil fashion - painful, brutal, and whenever Matt wins, he loses. This has been an odd run of issues, a lot more magical than Daredevil usually gets, but I've enjoyed it. The ultimate conclusion to it all is clever, and a real gut punch of an ending, especially for Bullseye. I'm sure he'll be fine.

The artwork is, surprisingly, all by Aaron Kuder. The guy draws 4 issues in a row. I nearly fell off my chair when I realised. There is an abundance of splash pages however, so that might have helped him stay on time.

Also included here are 2 issues of Laura Kinney: Wolverine, which are a crossover with Elektra's Daredevil. I think these are just here for filler, honestly. They're fine. I didn't particularly get on with that series when I was reading it on its own, and it's the same here.

I had high hopes for the Daredevil series. I am sorry to say I am disappointed. The best part of this book was issues 2 and 3 of Laura Kinney: Wolverine. That contains the team-up between Laura and Elektra. We have two Spider-Man books one starring Peter and one starring Miles. Elektra needs her own Daredevil book.

The final two devils are revealed. Pride and Wrath. Both possessing Matt's biggest failures. Not Matt must face his day on court, an inner struggle and an uncomfortable choice. I have to say the choice would have been pretty easy for me.

Matt Murdock seems to be getting the post-Brand New Day Peter Parker. Both characters seem to be downgraded to failures who's victories are more luck or someone else's intervention. I am hoping that Matt is now at or close to rock bottom he can start fighting his way back up. I have already rated the Wolverine book 5 stars, Matt/Daredevil pulled those stories down. This book finishes with a variant cover gallery.

3.5*

I get the impression that the editorial team asked Ahmed to finish his run because it was starting to get too long, which is true. And so it wraps up in four issues, which isn't even a standard TPB.

Nevertheless, Ahmed does a pretty good job. The resolution of the sin of Pride is surprisingly simple but effective, and that of Wrath is rather devious. Ahmed pushes Matt to his limits when it comes to making choices, and the one he makes will undoubtedly have consequences later on. On that point, hats off to him.
In retrospect, one wonders if Ahmed couldn’t have handled the entire arc in this manner, cutting out a good third of it but gaining in effectiveness. The answer is in the question.

Apparently, two issues of Laura Kinney: Wolverine will be included in the TPB to fill the last third. Basically, the story is weak and Laura and Elektra are out of character, but their relationship in this context works quite well. However, this does not bode well for the series (but that is not the subject of this review).

Daredevil takes on his final two demons, Wrath and Pride. Wrath has kidnapped a child from the orphanage and Pride has infected poor Foggy. Matt must battle Foggy in court over the fate of the orphanage, which is fine, and then pick who will die from Wrath's... wrath.

It's kind of a predictable volume in that you know who Daredevil will be fighting and that eventually he'll defeat them both. I guess the way DD takes down Pride is fun, but the Wrath battle doesn't have much nuance. DD gives in to wrath so he's... stuck being wrathful now?

Then we get two filler issues from the X-Men: Laura Kinney series. Seems like whatever Elektra's up to with Kingpin will be more interesting that the outcome of this series.

This ends a massive arc of the seven sins but the ending wasn't that good. It had potential to be a very fun DD story and really shake his character and explore his 7 sins but the last 2 weren't well explored/written. We see Matt fighting Pride in the form of Foggy and that court scene was really written and you can see Matt breaking but then how it ended felt rushed but the next one vs Wrath, this one is Jason and its personal for Matt specially given his guilt and add to it this.. it in a way does show Matt giving into the wrath rather than resist it. But it does end the whole seven sins arc and gives a new (old again) status quo.

There were good character explorations and moments but I feel like there were so many missed chances specially. But well an ending nonetheless and it will be exciting to see where we go from here given the brutal fate of one of the characters and I feel like Saladin has plans for him down the line and how will it continue to affect Matt and also Foggy.

So yeah a volume which had huge potential but fumbled the ending, but if you have been reading the series throughout do give it a read and see for yourself how the ending is! This also ends Kuder's art run on the book and while I am not the biggest fan of his art, its still commendable the issues that he drew!

Actually one of the worst books I’ve ever read. Complete misunderstanding of the story it’s trying to tell and blatant disregard for the future of some of these characters because he should not get to choose who lives or dies in the middle of a really forgettable series. Does not live up to the Daredevil quality we’ve come to expect

I thought that by now we would know exactly how Matt came back but… nothing. This arc was so lazy. They brought him back so quickly - both Matt and Daredevil. He literally remembered everything about his other life? Was he reborn? He just came back with his own body? I’m appalled that Marvel allowed this to happen

The end of the deadly sins arc and sets up a new one at the end. Overall this is good but not like what daredevil could really be hopefully there’s some better stories in time to come.

I know it's not out yet but I've read the comics in it so I'm counting this instead of the individual issues

Why is the #2 & #3 of Laura Kinney: Wolverine Vol. 1 is included in here?? I've read those issues on the book itself. It's not even by the same writer. Filler to thickened the book and you mark up the price for a 6 issues of book. What a scam, Marvel!! What a scam. 👎

Update : Ok i came back to update my review. I've given this a 1 star for the scammed issues. Apparently i have to give this a higher mark cause the stories are so damn good! The action panel is so bad-ass! Love all the demon looks! So scary. I don't get the hate for this run. The plot is smooth, dialogues are easy to understand, no complex choice of words. Vigilante + horror.

Aaron Kuder's artwork is good enough. Hate the way he draws woman though. So ugly. Especially she-hulk.

Still minus the 1 star for filler issues that has already included in other book. What's the point i bought both trades? Stupid!

Rating
+ 8.5/10 for the very thin 4 issues
- 0/10 for the filler issue #2 & #3 of Laura Kinney: Wolverine

Nice conclusion to the main arc of Ahmed’s DD. Of course nothing ends happily for Matt. It rarely does.

I enjoyed the ending of the seven deadly sins storyline but the Wolverine issues at the end were just add-ons.

final two Sins are still loose...

Wrath, possessing an orphan who blames Daredevil for everything
Pride, taken over the body of Foggy Nelson

Matt's left with multiple 'impossible' problems. The orphanage is being threatened with closure. Wrath is still carving a bloody swath through Hell's Kitchen. Even Bullseye loses an arm...

At least there's still Elektra to lean on....oh...oh wait..yea, that's another burnt bridge.
======
Bonus: Saying you're sorry could have, arguably, erased this whole arc.
Bonus: Giant-Size Daredevil #1 should have been the filler here. Kingpin's perspective with Greed attached would have been a fresh take.
