In the desert, the most precious resource is water. The ultimate price is death.

Sage Galvan is a disgrace to her family.

As a daughter from one of the five Houses that regulate the water supply to the Celosia desert, the death of a dragon is unthinkable. In a fiery war for water and territory, the number of dragons in a House’s arsenal determines their strength. So when Sage orders her cousin to provide cover in a battle between dragonriders, she’s held personally responsible after her cousin’s dragon is ambushed and ripped apart.

When a new threat rises–Damon Valour, the ruthless leader of a rebellion–Sage leaps at the chance to bring him to justice. However, during an attack on her home, Sage is captured by none other than Damon himself.

With the help of a Mage using blood magic, Sage is cursed with a traitor’s mark that telepathically links her to Damon. Bound by the curse, Sage finds she cannot utter a word that would expose the rebellion’s whereabouts or Damon’s true identity. But in a twisted scheme of his own, Damon offers Sage a deal: he’ll remove the mark if she becomes his spy.

To escape being linked to a rebel forever, Sage must choose between the scheming ambitions of her family or the treacherous desire growing in her heart for the rebel that threatens everything she stands for. Because despite her best efforts Sage cannot deny that Damon is not who he seems and she cannot extinguish the fire he ignites within her.

For the readers who loved the romance of Fourth Wing and the cutthroat politics featured in House of the Dragon, DYNASTY will leave you breathless in this romantic sun-scorched adventure.

5 Stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely LOVED this book! I’ll admit, I struggled to get into it during the first few chapters but I think that was more about my timing than the story itself. Once I picked it back up, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down!

If you love a strong FMC who pushes boundaries, discovers her worth, and proves she doesn’t need a knight in shining armor to save her, this book is for you. The character growth, the tension, and the empowerment woven throughout had me captivated.

I can’t wait to see what Iris has in store next! Her storytelling is brilliant, and I’m already eagerly anticipating the next installment!

I thought this was a great debut novel. I was engaged through the whole book and had a fun time reading it. I enjoyed all the characters and the dragons.

-🐉 dragons
-enemies to lovers
-political intrigue
-betrayals
-oppressive rulers vs rebels
-fmc that finds her own voice

The few things keeping me from this being a 5 star read was the slight lack of world building. There was hardly any mention of how they bond with the dragons until the end of the book. I’d have liked more detail on that, do they approach them at a certain age? Do they have to touch them? Do they normally bond dragons when they are born or wait till they grow? Things like that.

The other small thing I didn’t love about the world building was that it was a little hard to picture the time period. They had cars and guns, but not electricity? They used stones/magic for that. And they had water treatment plants, powered by what then? The stones? It felt like a toe was in the modern world and a toe in medieval time too.

There was almost too much happening all at once but at the same time it really kept me engaged so maybe it worked too, but kind of made it hard to keep characters straight. Which I know there’s a guide but I don’t want to flip back and forth lol.

That stuff aside I really enjoyed this book and will read the next.

Dynasty is an awesome, high stakes fantasy that will hurt your feelings when you least expect it. Recommend to anyone who love dragons, shadow daddies, and cutthroat romance that'll have you kicking your feet like a school girl.

This was such a fun read! I loved the concept and the world we were set in. Anything with dragons is an automatic love. I liked our fmc and her growth and at first I didn’t like the mmc, he was too arrogant but I quickly ended up loving him. I liked seeing the complicated and toxic family dynamic with Sage and could definitely relate to her in some ways. I love a coming out of her shell and standing up for herself arc and felt it was done well.

There were only a few things that kept this from being five stars. The pacing of the plot was done really well overall, but the pacing of individual scenes kind of fell flat for me. We had a scene, it played out, it was resolved/wrapped up, then we moved on and that repeated. We didn’t really get to linger and absorb or process things. Like when Halycon died, we didn’t really get to see Sage mourning and that felt like a big thing. Or when Jocelyn was revealed to be a traitor (which I called and wish I was wrong cause poor Sage), I wish we’d gotten more surprise from Sage. I know she was in the middle of dying, but I wish we’d just gotten to linger. Or when they were intimate, it happened, it was done, next scene. I think that also played into me not fully believing the main couple is in love. I like them together but for all Erens devotion and love for her, I personally didn’t feel like they’d made it that far with what we were given.

I am excited for the next book, eager to see what happens next. I was hoping it would be something to do with the Wastes and exploring and im excited for that to play out.

**4.5 Star read**

This was one of the few books I've found to deliver on its "for fans of ___".
When she said Fourth Wing and House of The Dragon- she delivered.
If you've been looking for a romantasy that doesn't shove the political intrigue and fantasy to the corner- read this book.

A couple recent romantasy books kept the action scenes pretty basic/vague- this book was NOT one of them. It really felt like a TRUE romantasy- the fantasy scenes were true fantasy with their politics, action, and world building, but when our two main characters were alone we got the true romance aspect.

I really enjoyed the romance/the relationship/the characters- no icks or peeves to be found on my end. Our main characters were neither perfect or illogically flawed (AKA they were relatable and made sense). I liked the background and growth for the most part (the end felt a bit rushed but I liked the outcome so).

I won't lie- the beginning was a bit rough for me with the world building as it is very Game of Thrones with all of the houses and people- it took me several days to get to the 40% mark (but also probably just wasn't in the learning a new world mood).
But once I got to 50% I knew who everyone was, the character development was developing, the relationships were building, and the dragons were dragoning- I could not stop and finished in one sitting.

The ending is not a cliffhanger, but an open door and I am so excited to see where it goes.

This book was amazing. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I absolutely could not put it down. I finsihed it in less than a day.

The world was absolutely incredible and nothing like anything else I’ve read. I loved the house set ups and the power balance and how they were stuck in the desert. It created so much more intrigue that they were all facing the same problems and fighting each other to solve their problems.

At first Sage is quiet and obeying because she believes it’s what’s best for her family after her recent failures, but once she tries to earn her families trust and honour back again she learns that things aren’t as they seem and everything, all the lies and secrets, begin to unfold before her in such clarity. And I love how she refuses to believe it’s the truth at first. Her character development was amazing through this book and u can’t wait to see more of her and Eren in the sequel.

And Eren? 10/10. No notes.

The storyline was incredible and so easy to follow. The way Sage faces three new problems every chapter and by the end of the book learns how to face them and come out on top nearly unscathed. This book had me drowning in my tears and laughing hysterically only chapters apart. And that plot twist at the end had me completely flabbergasted. A beautiful story and I can’t wait for book 2

Dynasty by Iris Quinn is an enthralling fantasy triumph—fierce, emotional, and utterly unputdownable. Set in a desert realm where water is power and dragons are weapons, this story throws readers headfirst into political games, fractured loyalty, and an enemies-to-lovers dynamic that positively simmers.

Sage Galvan is a standout heroine—flawed, strategic, and caught between the brutal expectations of her legacy and the growing realization that her enemies may not be villains after all. Her fall from grace is swift and brutal, and her capture by Damon Valour sets off a chain of events that’s tense, intimate, and richly layered with moral ambiguity.

The bond between Sage and Damon—created through a blood curse—is the stuff of fantasy gold. It forces vulnerability, tests loyalty, and gives us an addictive slow-burn romance tangled in politics, magic, and betrayal. Damon is magnetic, and Iris Quinn brilliantly subverts expectations around his rebel leader role. He’s sharp, morally gray, and just soft enough to be dangerous to Sage’s cause and heart.

With dragon warfare, courtly intrigue, and a dry, dangerous world that feels as real as sand beneath your feet, Dynasty delivers high-stakes storytelling with poetic flair and emotional depth.

Oh I am SAT for this book!!! Iris you have delivered such a strong and beautiful debut, I literally cannot wait for what else you have in store.

Right from the start I admired Sage as a character. And then the amount of character development she goes through is incredible and truly builds this story up from the ground. Her romance with Damon had me gagged, that man is so fine and every little thing he does for her made me scream into my pillow.

Also?? The scene that clicks into place from the cover?? When it happened my jaw dropped and it was an instant 5. Because yes there is romance, but that does not fully encapsulate this book and the decision to have that scene as its cover truly defines the importance of Sage and who she is.

Tropes:
- Enemies to lovers
- Slow Burn
- Arranged Marriage
- Political Intrigue
- Dragons!!
- “Touch her and d-“
- Strong FMC!

Ok now on to the bad stuff: …gtfo we don’t have that in this house. Just a 5 star Michelin meal served on a silver platter with a crisp glass of water.

Thank you Iris for this ARC. I can’t believe I was lucky enough to read this book. I’m so happy for you and can’t wait from all that is to come!

Dynasty exceeded my expectations!

The unique world that Iris Quinn created already had me curious and I rarely pass up on opportunity to read about dragons, so it was a no-brainer to give her debut novel a shot. I found myself having a hard time putting it down as there was tension that started almost from the beginning. I loved Sage as a character and enjoyed following her through the journey of making decisions for her sake rather than continuing to take orders from her family.

The only drawback for me was that I wanted more. I wanted the progression to slow just a bit as I felt like there were obstacles that Sage managed to overcome relatively quickly that I wished could have taken more time to grow, so I could fully immerse in the struggle with her. Overall as a debut novel I was impressed with the dynamics of Sage's family, the intricacies of the five houses interacting with each other and how Sage developed (with the help of a certain rebel). This book certainly left me with questions that I'm dying to figure out. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

Thank you Iris for the arc copy I love you and hate you for what you put me through reading this. Did I start this 6 days ago? Yes, yes I did, however life got in the way with moving out of college so I restarted about 21 hours ago and you know what I finished around 3am this morning in this book.

Each and every chapter of this book had me in a choke hold. with that being said this book gets a 4.95 from me. I loved everything about this book, don't even get me started on the tension of the 2 mcs it was written to perfection for these 2. I absolutely love Sage and how much her character grew in the best ways. I won't give much detail on it as it'll be a spoiler but it was a really great character development. The story line is great and I love the twist and turns and the ending was really good an didn't go the way I thought it was going to go so I am really excited for the next book. The only negative thing I have to say is that some of the names are hard to pronounce but I end up shorting those names to something that makes it easy to reads

Quick edit I missed guide on how to pronounce the names oops

My good GOD where do I even begin?!?!?
FANTASTIC. SUPERB. AMAZING.
I have so many thoughts and feelings about it.
The slow burn was so good. The angst and anger and the RAGE of it all. It was the PERFECT mix of everything I could have ever wanted in a story. So BEAUTIFULLY written. Tension, slow burn, betrayal, romance, fighting, HEARTBREAK!
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Twists and turns that give you whiplash in the best way possible. Heartbreak that will having you crawling back for more.
Everything about this book is absolutely incredible and awe inspiring. The only thing I need change to about this, is having book 2 right this very second.

Dynasty brought me back to the reasons I have loved romantasy in the past. I’ve kind of taken a break from it, but this book had that special kind of sauce that makes good romantasies so addictive. This is Quinn’s debut novel, and she smashed it out of the park in my opinion. Dynasty is sort of Game of Thrones, but if they had guns and Westeros was the Wild West. A little bit Mad Max, a little bit Firefly, like episodes that are Westerns. The main point is they have some higher levels of technology (guns), but also magic and dragon lord families. There is A LOT going on, which sometimes I am critical of especially for debut authors whose ideas overrun their ability to execute them well. But Quinn crushes it and artfully paces the book and worldbuilding in such a manageable way that is easy for readers to follow.

The main plot revolves around Sage who is a part of one of the cutthroat and brutal dragon lord families. Their peoples all live in a desert where the houses guard and portion the only sources of water. The houses vie for control of the desert - hoarding water and power for themselves. Sage doesn’t initially see the corruption among the houses, but her eyes are opened when she meets the masked leader of the rebellion and he magically tethers himself to her. Her father is always scheming, the people are collateral damage in dragon attacks, and the rebels keep infiltrating and destroying supply lines. Everything is heating up in the Celosia desert, and Sage must decide where she stands - with her family and the old regime or with the rebellion and something new.

I think this one is for the girlies who love a slow burn, I’m not sure if I want to kill you or make out with you, “touch her and you die” type of romantasy. It’s gritty and engaging. Kind of similar feel as Fireborne, but adult. If you like Nisha J Tuli, I think you would love this. I neeeeed other people to read this one! 🐉

my rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
**I received Dynasty as an ARC, and my review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.**

As soon as I opened the book and saw that there was a map I knew that this book was going to be SO. GOOD.

THE DRAGONS. THE ROMANCE. THE BETRAYAL.

Everything about this book is so beautifully written and it was so easy to follow along with plot (unlike most fantasy books). Literally every page made me want to turn to the next one and you had to pry my kindle out of my hands to get me to stop reading.

My life has changed after reading this book and I need the next one soon. I have a feeling this book is going to be big and I’m excited to be one of the first ones who’ve read it.

Not only is our FMC an actual badasss, but we also have dragons, a possessive MMC, and the spice is spicing?! Honestly what else do you need? DON’T EVEN THINK, JUST GO READ IT NOW!! I really enjoyed it! The plot was interesting and kept me hooked. I only have two complaints: the FMC and her relationship. Sage was honestly so cruel to Dahlia and everyone around her as soon as she started to feel just a little too special. Sometimes she just crossed the line with her attitude. Also, she would be calling Eren a coward and insulting him, he would say terrible things right back, but then two seconds later they are all lovey dovey like nothing happened…. STILL A GOOD BOOK, and I look forward to the rest of the trilogy :)

One of my top reads for the year! This book had me hooked from the very beginning and was so hard to put down. The writing is beautiful, the FMC is one of my favorites I’ve read in a while, everything about it was perfection. I’m not one to reread books no matter how much I love them, but I think this is one I would absolutely love to read again. Very excited to see what Iris writes next. Definitely one of my new favorite authors / books 🖤

This book is addictive! The characters have grown so much and to think this is barely the beginning…! If Fourth Wing and Dune had a love child - it would be Dynasty.

Some authors don’t have the guts to make debuts as high steaks as this so I appreciate that the brutal desert scape reflected the circumstances of some characters. Only the strongest survive. Come what may.

Thank you to the author - Iris - for sending me an eARC copy it was a pleasure soaring into the world of Dynasty.
