Kelton
My entire life, as far back as I can remember, I had a baseball in my hands. Baseball was the one true constant in my life. A game I've always loved, and I'm good at it. So when my dream came true to play professionally, everything felt like it'd finally aligned. I dropped everything, but the hardest part, was leaving my family and those I love behind. Emerson
He'd gotten the chance of a lifetime. So it would have been wrong for him to hold him back. I smiled, and wished him the best, pretending that watching him leave wasn't one of the hardest things I'd ever faced. I'd pretended, and done a great job at it, until I was invited to travel with a group of friends to watch him play. Everything was different under all the lights, with the sounds of thousands of fans cheering. It was surreal, and when our eyes met, all those feelings I'd tucked away came rushing back.

How do I pretend that I don't still feel like Kelton James has my heart in his hands. How do hold back, when he pulls me in for a hug. The familiar scent of his cologne taking me back to the last time he held me close.
Most importantly, how do I walk away a second time?

Grand Slam by @authorcaharms
Book 6 in the collaborative series Tennessee Terrors
Available 06.17.2025
4/5⭐️
2.5/5🌶️

I’ve read several books in this collaborative series, and l’ve come to love the fun, flirty, fast-paced vibe they all share—this one was no exception! It’s a perfect blend of baseball romance with emotional depth, a bit of spice, and just the right amount of drama to keep the pages turning.

Kelton is a professional baseball player who knew he was leaving something meaningful behind when he chased his dreams. He tried to fill that void, but nothing compared-because what he was missing was her. Emerson, his sister’s best friend, has been in love with him since she was sixteen. All she ever wanted was for him to notice her, and when he finally did, it was right before he left. Years pass with no contact until fate (and his sister) bring them back together.
Emerson is along to help him house hunt in Tennessee
—and just like that, the sparks fly all over again. Their second chance begins, and you can’t help but root for them.

From the very beginning, I was invested in their journey. I don’t usually gravitate toward the childhood friends-to-lovers trope, but C.A. Harms completely won me over with this one.

If you’re looking for a sweet and swoon-worthy baseball romance-with a fiery sister, witty banter, and an ending that’ll leave you smiling-this book is a perfect pick.

Cute, sweet and semi short read. Even at around 240 pages long, it is a quick read because you don’t want to put it down. Emerson and Kelton have a cute second chance, surprise pregnancy romance story. After a few years apart and knowing it is an “it’s always been you” situation with each other, they get their second chance and realize that they want forever with each other and will do whatever it takes to make it happen. With minimal obstacles and drama, even with Libby attempting to cause issues, their HEA comes together in a feel good read. I have loved reading this series and really enjoyed the fact that each book is by different author.

Grand Slam by C.A. Harms is the fifth book in the Tennessee Terrors Series. If you’re new to this series, have no fear, each book can be read as a standalone! Also, each book in this series is written by a different author which makes for an intriguing series plot! If you love sports romance novels, but especially baseball romances, I can almost guarantee you’ll love the Tennessee Terrors Series!

Now let’s dive into what Grand Slam by C.A. Harms is all about!

Kelton has the world in the palm of his hands. He’s a major league baseball player and has endorsement deals worth millions. But when the game is over, the lights go out and Kelton goes home to silence, he realizes there is something missing.

Emerson has only known one true love in her life. That title belongs to her best friend’s older brother, who also happens to be the man she gave her V Card to two years ago. Having watched him drive away from her to chase his dreams crushed her in the worst ways. Now, Emerson finds herself arriving in Tennessee with her best friend to pick out a house for Kelton and maybe catch a game or two. What she doesn’t anticipate is for past feelings to come boiling to the surface, and this time those feelings aren’t all one-sided. And that’s where I’m going to stop this portion of my review!

My Thoughts:

C.A. Harms just delivered my favorite book in the Tennessee Terrors Series! Holy Crow! Emerson and Kelton’s story is full of heart and heat! I read this in one sitting, so if you decide to read this book clear your schedule! I’ve read a few books from this author, so I had a very strong feeling this book was going to be a love for me. C.A. Harms did not let me down. My heart adored every single moment of Emerson and Kelton’s story.

Let’s start with Emerson. I loved the fact that Emerson wore her heart on her sleeve. There was not a single moment where I doubted her feelings for Kelton. I also loved the vulnerability she showed throughout this novel. She has a down to earth personality and that’s exactly what Kelton needed in his chaotic life. The relationship between Emerson and her best friend may have been one of my favorite friendships I’ve been introduced to in a long time. Alizabeth and Emerson had that special bond, and a sisterhood that was not forced. So if you love novels that portray strong friendships, this is a book you will love!

And then we have Kelton. Sweet, Sweet Kelton. This man can do no wrong in my eyes! I loved how sincere and honest he was throughout this novel. The fact that he wasn’t a womanizing playboy like so many heroes in sports novels are had me swooning hard. My heart adored this man and all that he brought to this story.

Now the reason why I gave Grand Slam a five star rating. I loved the emotion that C.A. Harms brought to Emerson and Kelton’s story. There wasn’t a sing moment where I doubted these two would make it. I had a permanent smile on my face throughout the whole novel.

It’s difficult to write a review and not add spoilers. And with this novel, you do not want to be spoiled. So I’m going to end this review by saying, it’s been a long time since I last felt this amount of love and emotion when reading a novel. Most importantly, I loved the fact that I never questioned if this relationship would last. I can’t wait to read more from C.A. Harms in the very near future! If you’re a fan of the Surprise Pregnancy, Baseball Romances, and Best friend’s Older Brother tropes I highly recommend you run to amazon and pick Grand Slam by C.A. Harms up today!

Up next in the unmissable Tennessee Terrors baseball romance series comes Grand Slam by C.A. Harms — Book 6 in this swoony, emotionally-charged lineup brought to life by ten talented authors.

If you’re like me and love a blend of Surprise Pregnancy, Sister’s Best Friend, and Second Chance romance, then this one will hit all the right notes. What made this story stand out even more was the refreshing twist on the sister’s best friend trope — it’s not one we see often, and I absolutely adored how it played out here.

Kelton and Emerson had a shared history — a fleeting, unforgettable moment before life took them on separate paths: him into professional baseball, her off to college. Now, years later, Emerson is back during a college break, visiting Kelton with her best friend — who just so happens to be his sister, Liz. And let me tell you, Liz is the ultimate hype girl — so supportive and eager to see these two find their way back to each other. She added such a fun and heartwarming energy to the story!

The chemistry between Kelton and Emerson reignites the moment they reunite — full of longing glances, lingering touches, and slow-burning tension that builds into something neither of them can ignore. Then comes the twist they didn’t see coming… one that changes everything.

But with distance still between them and their lives pulling in different directions, the question remains — can love win the second time around?

I truly hope C.A. Harms gives Liz her own story next — she’s such a scene-stealer and absolutely deserves her own happily ever after!

📚 Each book in the Tennessee Terrors series can be read as a standalone, with fun crossover characters that fans of the series will love.

“How do I pretend that I don’t still feel like Kelton James has my heart in his hands. How do I hold back when he pulls me in for a hug. The familiar scent of his cologne taking me back to the last time he held me close. Most importantly, how do I walk away a second time?”

Kelton has always had a baseball in his hands, the game he has always loved and is very good at it. His dream came true to play professionally. Everything has finally aligned that he has worked so hard for. The hardest part for him was leaving his family, those he loved.

Emerson, He got his chance of a lifetime. I would be wrong to hold him back, watching him leave, I faked that it wasn’t the most painful thing in my life. She has been pretending and doing a good job at it. One day, she was asked by friends to go see one of his games. It was so awesome, the lights, the sounds, the roar of fans, then he saw her, their eyes locked. All her hidden desires and feelings come back to the surface.

He never noticed her before. Well, he did, but it was too late. He left for his career. Now he is back and has asked that she help find him a house in Tennessee thanks to his sister. His sister Liz wants these two together. They belong together, and she is just giving them a nudge.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was sweet with just enough spice for the type of storyline and the ending, you will love as well.

“There are so many things I see in my future, goals, aspirations, places I want to visit, things I want to do. But one thing is consistent through it all, and that’s I want to share them with you.”

“She is my peace, my world, Emerson is my home.”

One path you begin your journey on; isn’t always the path you’ll stay on. And that’s ok. It was the path you needed to take.

This is Book 6 of the Tennessee Terrors Series!

I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC 🥰

Grand Slam knocks it out of the park with a tender, emotional story of first loves, second chances, and the sacrifices that come with chasing a dream.

Kelton James has always lived for baseball. When his professional career finally takes off, he leaves behind his small town—and Emerson, the girl he thought he could walk away from. But when fate brings her back into his orbit, all those feelings that never really left come rushing in like a fastball.

Emerson thought she had moved on, until she finds herself in the stands, watching Kelton from the other side of the stadium lights. One look, one hug, one scent of familiar cologne—and suddenly, the years apart disappear.

💘 What makes this one stand out:
* A deep emotional connection you can feel on the page
* Tension that simmers with heartbreak, hope, and longing
* A realistic look at the cost of dreams—what you give up, and what you fight to keep
* Gentle but passionate romance that feels earned, not rushed
* Characters who have grown, but still feel like home to each other

This is the kind of slow-burning, soul-deep romance that reminds you love doesn't always follow a straight path—but when it's real, it finds its way back. With beautiful writing and genuine heart, Grand Slam will leave you cheering for love that lasts.

If you’re a fan of second chances, soft heroes with big dreams, and the kind of love that never really lets go, Grand Slam is your next emotional home run.

“She is my peace, my world, Emerson is my home.”

This was a really sweet, fun, and light-hearted read, and exactly what I needed after all the deep emotional books I read this past week before diving into my next dark, emotional read.

Kelton and Emerson have had feelings for each other for a while now but for various reasons, they never acted on them. The day they finally gave in was the day before Kelton was going to leave Chicago to go to Tennessee to play pro baseball. After spending that night together they haven't seen or talked to each other in over two years. That is until Alizabeth, Kelton's little sister and Emerson's bff, forces them to be in the same room together.

Once the MCs are under the same roof together, their attraction and feelings towards each other are undeniable. I honestly loved how there was no miscommunication between them. Even when situations that could've been easily misinterpreted presented themselves, they trusted each other and talked things out like adults. I actually found it funny that the only time they had an argument wasn't because of anything involving their relationship, but because of how Kelton was acting because of something that was happening with his sister. Which brings me to my next and final point. This story had some very fun side characters who I'd love to read more about.

Grand Slam is another book in the Tennessee Terrors series. It is a stand-alone and can be read separately from the other books but it is good to read them together.

I have read most of the books in this series so far and have enjoyed them all. They all have a fun way about them and the members of the baseball team. This story was such a great second chance romance. I enjoyed the characters and was hooked from the beginning.

Kelton is a baseball player who left his sister's best friend Emerson behind when he started playing professionally. He has always loved her and she cared for him. Kelton decides to buy a house and enlists his sister, Liz, to help. Liz and Emerson have always been best friends so Liz talks Emerson into coming to help too. Kelton and Emerson shared a lot of chemistry before and things heat up again when they see each other after all this time. Liz is excited to see her brother and best friend back together and supports them both equally. She is the best friend and sister anyone could have. Kelton and Emerson have a slow burn romance that builds up until they come together. Their story reminds us that when two people belong together it doesn't matter how much time has passed.

I loved Kelton and Emerson's story. It was emotional as well as a great fun read. I look forward to more from this author. If you love a great sports romance this one is highly recommended.

Thank you to the author for an advanced copy for an honest review.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Kelton and Emerson. Kelton has always been a baseball player. It was a constant in his life and he soon found himself on a professional team and he was living his dream. However, when he had to leave and report for camp he had to leave everything behind. Including Emerson. When Kelton had to leave, Emerson put a smile on her face and wished him well. Pretending that life would be fine. She has been making it in this world living her life pretending. But she has never forgotten Kelton. After all she is his sisters best friend and had had a crush on him as long as she could remember. When she is invited by his sister and some friends of hers to go see a game, there is no denying that she still has the same feelings she had tried so hard to put behind her. Could this be he one shot at having what she has wanted more than anything?
I really liked reading this book. I loved that they have been friends when they were younger. I love a good friends to lovers romance and this one I read and loved in no time. It is a really great addition to the Tennessee Terrors World.

Grand Slam is Book 6 in the Tennessee Terrors Series, and it tells Kelton and Emerson’s second-chance romance. Kelton is a pro baseball player, and Emerson is “the one who got away.”

Kelton and Emerson were each other’s everything—until his dream of playing pro baseball forced them to part ways. Years later, when she travels to watch him play, old feelings resurface under the stadium lights. Facing their past, they have to decide if they can let go of old hurts for a second chance at love.

This is a cute, sweet, and steady love story without any excessive drama. The conflict is clear from the very first page, making it a fast-paced read with just enough slow-burn tension between the two leads.

The chemistry between Kelton and Emerson is soft and heartfelt. Both are hesitant to act on their feelings because of their painful past, but watching them find their way back to each other is really sweet. I especially loved how brave Emerson was in standing up for her dream, even though it meant breaking her own heart. That choice felt so real and relatable, and the time apart made both of them wiser.

Shout-out to Gran and Alizabeth—especially Liz! I adored them and honestly need her story with Jerry next.

Thankyou Wordsmith Publicity and C. A. Harms for the eARC!

Another great book in this series. Kelton is up to bat next and I'm a sucker for a sister's best friend/best friend's brother. Emerson and Kelton have the history and about two years ago their chance was cut short. Fast forward to now they may just have their second chance. Kelton is extremely close to his sister Liz since losing their mom. Liz has quite the spitfire personality. Emerson and Liz have that once in a lifetime ride or die friendship. They are definitely friendship goals. Granny June is awesome and made me think of my grandma. Kelton has some swoon worthy moments especially at the end of this book. He is prime book boyfriend material. As always when the guys of the team are together some of my favorite parts. They are a true brotherhood. Everything Kelton has gone through has lead to this beautiful time in his life when all his dreams come true. He has someone smiling down on him from above proud as good be. It's a bit of a bumpy road, but the destination is so worth it. The description of his house sounds so beautiful. These Tennessee Terrors sure know how to steal my heart.

I’ve enjoyed the lively, playful, and fun tone of all the books in this combined series, and this one was exactly the same! Filled with emotional richness, a hint of flair, and just sufficient tension to keep you engaged, it's the perfect baseball love story.

As Kelton chased his aspirations of becoming a professional baseball player, he understood he was leaving something important behind. He tried to bridge the void, but nothing was sufficient since she embodied what he needed. The excitement reignites when Emerson teams up with him to search for a house in Tennessee. As their second chance begins, you can't help but root for them.

It serves as a reminder that love doesn't always follow a direct path, but when it's real, it will eventually return. This represents a kind of gradually igniting, profoundly emotional love. Grand Slam will make you cheer for lasting love due to its beautiful prose and genuine emotion.

Grand Slam is your upcoming emotional hit if you appreciate fresh starts, kind-hearted champions with high aspirations, and a love that always clings on.

Kelton had a short romance with Emerson, his sister's best friend, just before moving from home to play baseball with the Tennessee Terrors.

Two years have passed and they can't deny their feelings so when the girls go to visit him to help him find a real home, Kelton doesn't waste any minute trying to hide that he wants her. The only problem is that she lives in Chicago and both of them think that they can't ask the other to be together in the same city.

Thanks to a great sister that wants her two fav people to be happy together and Jerry, Kelton's agent who in reality is a good friend and a potential brother in law (I need to read Liz & Jerry story because they have to end together), the girls decide to move from Chicago and surprise Kelton.

But the better surprise is Emerson's pregnancy and how well they all take the news. I loved how little drama there's about it.

This is a feel good romance with some hilarious moments as well as some spicy ones too. And we get so see some good moments with his team mates.

Grand Slam is a second chance, sister's best friend romance that is overflowing with passion and emotion. Kelton walked away from Emerson once before choosing baseball over her thinking it was the best decision for both of them. However, as the years have gone by one thing still remains, the connection, love and chemistry. When Emerson comes to visit along with Kelton's sister Liz, Kelton decides that he won't make the same mistake again. With guarded hearts, these two must learn to communicate, forget the tabloids and decide what is most important. There will be some highs and lows to have you on the edge of your seat but ultimately this is a love story that hits it out of the park. Kelton's sister Liz adds some much appreciated banter to their story and has her own crazy little connection to someone associated with Kelton that might just put a little strain on things every now and again. This story definitely lives up to its name with being nothing less than a grand slam. My only hope is that we might see a story for Liz down the line.

This is the first book I have read from this series and I am hooked!

Kelton's dream was to be a pro Baseball player and when he is called up Emery (his sisters best friend) puts him first and wishes him well and success leaving her heart in pieces. Soon as they meet up again when she travels with some friends to see him play the sparks are still flying between them.

I managed to devour this in a few hours and it was a great distraction from life! It was filled with family, friendships, love, red hot chemistry mixed with humour, emotions and that second chance at happiness.

I will be going back to read the rest of the books in the series now.

Baseball has been Kelton's entire life. He lives and breathes it, but like other baseball players, leaving his family was hard. However, leaving Ember was the hardest. They had known each other their entire lives, as she is his sister's best friend. I loved his sister; she made the book fun and engaging. I appreciated how Kelton didn't hold anything back, and there really wasn't a filter. Ember is gun-shy when it comes to Kelton because she's been hurt, but she is determined to show her strength. One thing I loved about her is that she didn't want to give up her passion to finish school and live her best life. When Ember and Kelton reconnect, can he show her that everything will be okay if she trusts him again? Fall in love with this entire Tennessee Terrors Baseball Team because you won't be disappointed.

This is the 5th book of the series. It has been great getting to know this team. Each author has brought us something special. This is Kelton's story. I love a good second chance romance and this one is perfect.

Emerson and Kelton have some history. Thank goodness Kelton's sister Liz sees the best in both of them and finally pushes the issue. Kelton is a pro baseball player and Emerson is a small town girl. I loved that Kelton SEES her and knows what he has been missing out on.

I liked how the author takes us on this journey with them. Some angsty moments but more related to young love and reacquainting themselves with each other. Kelton is so gone for Emerson. She settles him and quiets all the noise the big leagues have brought to his life.

Great addition to the series!

Grand Slam is a short, sweet romantic read about getting that second chance with the one that got away. Kelton and Emerson grew up together and eventually had one night before Kelton left to follow his dreams. My favorite part of this story is the story line of two people finding one another and getting that second chance at love. It is something about having a second chance that really puts you into the story. The chemistry of the main characters was beautiful. I love that they have known one another for so many years and that they needed to have the time apart to grow. The characters did tend to lean on the over dramatization side of their personalities. Other than that I liked the story and that it is a sweet kind of romance with a side of dirty that drives the story.

I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

A cute quick read! Perfect addition to this fun series. Kelton is a professional baseball player, who knew he was leaving something special when he followed his dreams. Emerson is Kelton’s sisters best friend and someone he shares a strong connection with. Can these two possibly finally get their chance? This is a fast paced book with a great story. A story about love, family and following both your dreams and your heart. I adored Kelton, he was adorable, loved his family and was determined to make Emerson his. These characters had fun banter and an undeniable pull. I am Truly enjoying this series and this book was the perfect addition to this additive series. I’m already look forward to reading the next book.

I have not read any of the previous books in this multi author series, but after I had seen CA Harms and baseball, I couldn’t start reading this story fast enough.
There are so many tropes in Kelton & Emerson’s story that I love to read in my romance novels, but it would be the second chance at love or maybe just a relationship that I enjoyed the most. They both wanted each other but with obstacles in their way they didn’t know if anything more would be possible.
I really enjoyed how their story played out. With no major blowups, even though there are plenty of ups and downs, I liked how they both worked at being together.
There are also some incredibly supporting characters in this book, and I have everything crossed that there will be a book featuring Liz in the not too distant future.

Alizabeth (Liz) is awesome! Thank God for her meddling. Both Kelton and Emerson pursued their own paths three years ago, with distance tearing them apart. When Liz visits her brother, Kelton, she brings her best friend Emerson along.

This time though, the attraction goes beyond the physical and their connection is explosive. It was interesting to see how they navigated the issues that comes with a long distance relationship and with one party being a celebrity.

Another good surprise to me was the fact that the story didn’t just end once we had some “good news”. I liked that the intricacies of being a celebrity was explored, and how they had to learn to be a couple in person, while being truly present and communicative with each other.

This is another new to me author that I have found through this series and this story did not disappoint. Emerson and Kelton's story has so much tied into their past and growing up together and their story is emotional and so good. I loved Kelton's sister Elizabeth (Liz) and Gran so much in this story as they played such large roles, but more so were so dang funny and honest. I know this series is about the Tennessee Terrors, but oh boy do I hope that Liz and his (don't want to post spoilers) story is told as I am sure it would be phenomenal. I am looking forward to reading more books from this author in the future and am excited for the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for my honest review.

This is the sixth book in this amazing series, and this is Kelton and Emerson’s story.
Kelton always dreamt of being a pro baseball player, and when the opportunity to pursue his dreams arose, Emerson put a smile on her face and wished him well, breaking her heart in the process. When Emerson and some friends go on a trip to see Kelton play, and from the moment their eyes met, all their feeling came rushing back.
This is a beautifully written easy to read story, which has family, friendships, emotions, surprises, challenges, humor, witty banter, second chances, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, baseball romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Emerson has had feelings for Kelton, her best friend’s brother for years. When she finally gives in to her feeling for him her newfound happiness is taken away when she realizes that the best way to show she cares is to not stand between him and his lifelong dream of playing professional baseball.

Kelton believed that he moved past his feelings for Emerson until destiny, in the form of his sister, brings her back in his life. He sees the way that she has always fit into his life and his heart and isn’t about to walk away from her a second time.

Even though Emerson and Kelton are living very different lives and have some challenges to overcome there was never any doubt that the love they shared was strong enough to overcome anything.

Surprise pregnancy, sisters best friend, second chance and sports / baseball romance. It really doesn’t get much better than this . So many of my all time favorite tropes wrapped up in a love story , that’s fun and steamy and emotionally charged in every single way . I absolutely adored , just adored Kelton and Emerson together so so much . Watching fall in love only to be ripped apart by the most unexpected of circumstances and then years later find each other once again . Man was i reeling with so many emotions while reading. Smiling, laughing out loud . Crying one minute and then screaming the next. All while cheering so freaking hard from start to ending. Grand Slam is easily one of the best sports love stories I’ve read in a really long time and a must read for everyone

Another amazing book in this series!!! First time reading CA Harms and loved this story!! Emerson may have been the one who got away but only because Kelton thought it was for the best. Emerson was Kelton’s sister’s best friend and they may have been in love with each other forever but they spent the night together the night before Kelton left for Nashville. When Kelton talks his sister into coming to Nashville and help him find a house, she drags Emerson and all those feelings come back to the surface… they never went away but Kelton never wanted to take away from Emerson and 4 years age difference was more than it is now. Even after Emerson heads back to Chicago, the plan is for them to be together and her move, can they make that work with his career?

Grand Slam by C.A. Harms is book 6 in the Tennessee Terrors series. If you love a good baseball sports romance which includes falling for sister’s best friend and second chances, then this book is for you.
Kelton is now a professional baseball player who fell for his younger sisters best friend, Emerson, right before she started college and he was called up to the majors to pursue his dreams as a professional baseball player. Years have passed and Kelton’s sister, Liz, comes to visit him to help him pick out a house. Liz did not come alone. She brought Emerson with her and boy did all the old feelings come to the surface. I absolutely loved every minute of their story and the sweet slow burn of the rekindled flames that don’t come without some strife, but are worth it all in the end.

What a fun novel! I have read the other novels in this series and really enjoyed them. This novel did not disappoint. I love a good sports themed novel about second chances. This novel checked so many boxes for me. From the first chapter to the last this novel pulled me in and held on tight. I loved Kelton and Emerson's story. This novel took me a wild ride of emotions but I loved watching the two of them reconnect. Their chemistry was so good! Once I started reading I didn't want to put this novel down. I needed to know these two could make it work this time. So so good and so much fun. I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next.
