I want to talk about my second highest rated game that almost defies categorization. It is the story telling system Mythic. I think it is brilliant and so entertaining that I keep it in my wallet in the form of three laminated pieces of paper, and with a d10 shard on my keys I’m set to play. With Mythic I can tell any story, any system, any genre, anytime, anywhere with any number!-Even solo! This is quite the boast for a 10 dollar download. But, it really does deliver an unexpected and satisfying story in which all players can be in the story, making decisions for their characters and others while the system throws out unexpected events and moderates success. You want to be Buffy-you can. You want to be a cowboy-you can. You want to be a Starfleet officer-you can! The system is simple but works best with one experienced story teller/DM and one other person and, this is important, you must not plan or prep anything before playing. That’s right no one is in charge (no DM) and no prep at all. Maybe 5 minutes at the start to define yourself and then an opening scene and no telling what kind of story will unfold. A good story only takes about 1 hour to tell with plenty of chance for all to give ideas, act out scenes, and have fun taking turns leading.

Via a deceptively simple system for answering yes/no questions and a companion random event generator, a GM may find he doesn't need nearly the prep work he spent before to run engaging, believable stories.
Personally I've never run, not do I intend to run, a Mythic-only game with the extended full rules, though I am currently running a wonderfully rules-lite game (centered on the Lizzy Borden case and a proposed reincarnation of same woman) with my wife these days.
