DNF @ 50%...because my eyes were tired from rolling.
First of all, don't write a book about American jails and the justice system when you obviously know nothing about American jails and the justice system.
***Calmly explaining...***
When Krypt gets arrested, the characters are talking about him waiting for sentencing within 3 days of his arrest and the shooting.
First, before he would even be arrested, there would have to be some sort of - oh, I don't know - INVESTIGATION before the police would arrest someone. Police need something called PROABALE CAUSE to effect an arrest - not a bunch of witnesses who supposedly didn't see anything, no ballistic testing on the supposed weapon used and no surveillance video.
Second, after someone is arrested, they go to jail where they await court and ARRAIGNMENT where they plead guilty/not guilty. After THAT the DA decides if there's enough to go to trial, yes TRIAL. (Unless he pleads out to a lesser charge or takes a deal...which would STILL take waaaaay more than three days.
Then IF the person is found guilty THEN they get sentenced. And all of this takes a LONG time, not three damned days.
Also, if he had just been arrested and was awaiting all of those things, he would go to county jail, which is obviously not where Ash works because she talks about prisoners who are serving life sentences.
Emphasis on SENTENCES.
People who have been sentenced and are serving time longer than a year are housed in state PRISON. People who are newly arrested and/or awaiting TRIAL and/or UN-sentenced are housed in the County JAIL within the jurisdiction where they committed the crime for which they were arrested. They are NOT held in the same place.
This drove me nucking futs.
But I was willing to overlook it for a good story.
However, a good story was just not to be had. Plus, I just couldn't take the writing.
Here was the exact dialogue that broke the camel's derriere for me:
Cause that's totally how MC club bikers talk. Said no one EVER.
Who talks like that?
Romance authors, that's who.
And P.S. A supposedly hardened "criminal" who had spent time in and out of jail would never have a tattoo of a woman covering his entire back...in prison culture, the guys who have tattoos of women are their backs are typically the ones who are taking it up the a$$ and giving taker something to look at while he's back there...just sayin'...

OH.MY.GOSH.. TOTAL FRUSTRATION!!! .
Sure, we get a hot biker..
a chic that's kinda badass
and some pretty combustible sexy times...
But Ash and Krypt drove me freaking insane!!! I could never get on board with their connection because she was too wishy washy with her feelings.. he was too quick with his feelings.. and together.. well they were just a big ole mess for me. After their first bang session he was already wanting her to be his old lady. I mean come on.. her hoochy might have been good but it couldn't have been THAT good.
and then.. THEN.. right when we get through all the drama and shit.. we get treated to a that just did not make a lick of sense..it should have never happened!! Now I certainly don't mind that in my books at all! But this situation was just wrong.wrong.wrong... it was really hard to like Ash after that. She should have known she would be hurting a friend.. .beyatch. ...
Dammit! This book had serious potential! I was really enjoying it in the beginning.. then it just went downhill for me. Maybe it was just a me thing...

The heroine: Ash (a.k.a. Wildcard) - she is a prison guard and is called Wildcard by the prisoners because she is a woman in a man’s job and can take a man twice her size down. She lives with Claire and Leo, Claire is a fun loving blonde while Leo owns his own tattoo parlor and fights at night. She likes the company even though she is independent.
The Heroes: Beau (a.k.a. Krypt) - he is a gorgeous member of the Jokers Wrath Motorcycle Club and was arrested for Murdering a family in a local diner. He ends up in Ash’s prison the same day the news hits about the murder. Beau doesn’t talk much.
The Story: Ash finds some of the other guards beating up Beau in his cell and she thinks something shady is going on while the other guards say that Beau attacked them and the camera’s just happened to be down at the time. Though Ash knows the camera’s don’t just go down like that. The next time something happens, the guards make sure Beau gets transferred to another facility for fighting and Ash figures something is up, especially when the usually guard says he has a meeting and can’t be in the truck and Ash has to go, but there isn’t much she can do about it.
Charles Lawrence and Stella Bloom did the narration on this one. It was told in dual points of view, though mostly in Ash’s POV. Stella Bloom has a very clear but not harsh voice which was perfect for Ash. She has a bit of an accent but not a huge one. I have never heard Charles Lawrence before but he did a good job.
Though there were some major plot holes in the story, I kind of liked the conflict in the story. The Jokers Wrath MC had a war going on with a rival MC and their president, there were dirty prison guards, a conspiracy, a prison escape, the two main characters hiding out together and more.

Ohh, I love this guy!
I know, this book lacked in accuracy (regarding the prison system and all) but I really don't care right now.
I absolutely loved the plot and the characters, these two are perfect for each other!
And maybe most importantly, it made me curious about the next books. So yay Bella Jewel!

That's our hero - who comes in to the prison where our heroines works as a prison guard.
What is the story about A story about a girl who works in prison meets this bad arse hot bikers and the situation gets messy. Prison guards are involved alongside with revenge from another MC.
Steamy YES!!!! You know Bella, she is good!
Writing style I must say Bella is one the queen of writing biker story. Precarious is different from her normal writing style in terms of fetish that these bikers have. Well, there was threesome ... hmmm
Chemistry Well, there was chemistry between them but I couldn't feel much for them. As he wanted her to be his old lady after first time sex! But there is.
Of course, since Maddox plays an important role too, there is my Maddox,
"And if I'm not your old lady?

I didn't read book of bikers a long time. Therefore, I forgot how exciting it is! What can I say, as always happened a lot!

Series: First in the Jokers' Wrath MC series.
Grade: Motorcycle erotic romance.
Main characters: Beau 'Krypt' Dawson ia vice president of the Jokers' Wrath MC. Ash 'Wildcard' is a sassy prison guard.
Secondary characters: There is a lot of awesome characters. Maddox, Santana, Leo, ...,

About the plot: Krypt goes to prison for the brutal murder. There he meets a beautiful and unbridled prison guard - Ash. Between them, there is some connection. She tries reach him, help him. During this time she will see that something going on about which she has no idea. The situation becomes tense, and until is not solved, this time she is taken as a prisoner. There, Ash soon finds out that her friends are her real enemies. And she must begin to trust her kidnapper.
Why 3 stars? Great first half, the second not so much. It's a real shame. The beginning and the very idea for book was sensational. I not only like it, I love it! But... then something went wrong.
Somewhere heroes lost their character. And I not think for a moment about the scene with threesome. [it was hot and I really do not know why there are some doubts ]. In my opinion, there are also some problems with the story. A lot happens and sometimes is questionable.
Final thoughts: Despite any doubts, I very much like the story. A lot was happening, they were emotions, great team supporting characters. Hot sex scenes. And if I give you mentioned how well she beats? The scenes where she breaks the guys on the back - priceless! I read it all with great excitement.
Next in the series? Melancholy - Maddox and Santana story!

4 stars!!
I was so excited to read this novel that I just wanted to drop the book that I was reading but I didn't, I need to learn how to wait, and finish what I've started. So I did, and the wait? it was worth it!
I opened the e-book, the cover appeared, it wasn't the first time that I've seen the cover or the first time for me to see covers of hot bods plastered on books...but seriously, a man's body/abs without the man's face, I was like WTF? atleast show us their faces. I don't know if there's a meaning behind the cover but I just hope that it wouldn't be like that always, it's always the same thing.
(Reading my written review in my notepad- non stop rants about the cover)... *Sigh
This novel was thrilling. The heroine is a prison guard, so I imagined her as a very uptight bitch, with buns and all...
The novel ended faster than I wanted it to be, it was good, it was hot and I love the characters.
The author has been teasing us for months so I was expecting something epic, I'm not saying it didn't satisfy me coz it did, I was probably just expecting too much.
I wanted more drama, more heavy scenes, and probably something that would made me cringe?

1 bullshit Stars

Okay so I have read 7 books by Bella Jewel now and I loved them all. Loved her writing style loved her broody bad-ass heroes, loved her sassy heroines, and loved all the angsty drama of her plots. Then I read this hot mess. God I don't even know where to begin on all that is wrong with this book. See I read The MC Sinners series first. I loved them so much that I then read MC Sinners Next Generation series to see how their children turned out. In the Next Generation book 2 the hero is Diesel the son of Jokers Wrath MC member, Mack and Jaylah. In that book I got curious about the Jokers couples so I wandered over to Amazon to get this series. After reading this book I am wondering if I made a huge mistake.
Lets just start with the unrealistic, all over the place, outlandish plot. This plot had more holes than Swiss cheese. When EVER does a person believed to be guilty of a crime get sent straight to prison. Last time I check we had a thing called a justice system and there are rules and laws that have to be followed. I'm pretty sure there is this thing called investigations and a trial, that the person would have to have. Then if found guilty and sentenced they go to prison. And not in less than a week. This isn't monopoly. You don't go straight to jail no passing go no collecting 200 dollars. Then you got dirty prison guards, and cops working with another MC to set up the Jokers. But that plot was thin with not a lot of details or reasons. All the surveillance videos go down like every five minutes magically so no one can see these crimes happening, and no one finds this weird?
I tried to overlook all that bullshit and just enjoy the romance. Problem with that was I didn't feel any romance and I disliked both Ash and Krypt. Let me just say that when I read Biker books I give a lot of leeway in the way the bikers act. Because the fact of the matter is Bikers are suppose to be rough, edgy, raw and bad-ass. So as I have said many time before there is a fine line authors that write MC romances have to walk to pull off a hard, sexy bad-ass biker without making him an unredeemable cockface. I can appreciate the struggle author must feel making sure their bikers don't come out like pussies or bastards. But this book didn't pull off that fine line. I didn't like Krypt at all. He fucked Ash once and instantly wanted to make her his old lady. When she says she doesn't even know him or him, her, he has a whore in his room a few hours later stripping for him getting ready to do other things. Yea well fuck you Krypt. It wasn't like he couldn't wait a few fucking minutes to let her fall in love with him or anything. Then Later his ex girlfriend Penny shows up and he kept telling Ash that Penny means something to him and that he didn't want her to see him with Ash. He pushed Ash away for Penny. And then he disrespected Ash who he is suppose to want as an old lady by telling her that Penny matters to him and that Ash doesn't. When Penny first shows up, he lets her kiss his lips, jump into his arms and wrap her legs around him and he is always touching on Penny. It just fucking pissed me off. I didn't feel like Krypt cared for Ash at all and I didn't buy that he wanted her for his old lady.
And Ash God give me strength not to reach into my kindle and choke a bitch. Ash was suppose to be this kick ass female prison guard that can kick men's asses and doesn't take shit from no one, but she was wishy washy and annoying as shit. She came off fake and like she was trying too hard to be a bad-ass. She let Krypt disrespect her with Penny and a club whore. And what the fuck was up with the threesome with Maddox's at the end. It made no sense. None. I am totally okay with ménage in books but this one just didn't fit. It was like the author was just throwing random things into the plot and it didn't work. Not to mention what a stab in the back it was to Santana. Santana who was suppose to be a close friend of Ash. How could Ash give Maddox a bj knowing Santana had something for Maddox. And I didn't buy that bullshit that she didn't know how Santana felt.
I didn't even enjoy the sex in this book. It was awkward and violent. I mean I am all for kinky rough sex, but who the fuck headbutts a man they are fucking??? For most of this book I was bored. For how all over the place this plot was there really wasn't much happening in this book besides being in a cabin in the woods and having violent sex. It kinda dragged for me but maybe that was because I wasn't feeling this book at all. I didn't feel a connection to the couple, didn't feel any chemistry between them, and just all around didn't care. I didn't like Maddox either. He is suppose to have feelings for Santana but he is fucking everything he can right in front of her. I get that they are not together and I'm going to try and have a open mind in their book but unnecessary bullshit drives me nuts. I understand that even when you love an author you don't always love everything they write and that is the case with this book. I really love Bella Jewel and I have loved every book of her but this one so I hope the next one is better because I already paid 3.99 a book for this series.

I tried to overlook all that bullshit and just enjoy the romance. Problem with that was I didn't feel any romance and I disliked both Ash and Krypt. Let me just say that when I read Biker books I give a lot of leeway in the way the bikers act. Because the fact of the matter is Bikers are suppose to be rough, edgy, raw and bad-ass. So as I have said many time before there is a fine line authors that write MC romances have to walk to pull off a hard, sexy bad-ass biker without making him an unredeemable cockface. I can appreciate the struggle author must feel making sure their bikers don't come out like pussies or bastards. But this book didn't pull off that fine line. I didn't like Krypt at all. He fucked Ash once and instantly wanted to make her his old lady. When she says she doesn't even know him or him, her, he has a whore in his room a few hours later stripping for him getting ready to do other things. Yea well fuck you Krypt. It wasn't like he couldn't wait a few fucking minutes to let her fall in love with him or anything. Then Later his ex girlfriend Penny shows up and he kept telling Ash that Penny means something to him and that he didn't want her to see him with Ash. He pushed Ash away for Penny. And then he disrespected Ash who he is suppose to want as an old lady by telling her that Penny matters to him and that Ash doesn't. When Penny first shows up, he lets her kiss his lips, jump into his arms and wrap her legs around him and he is always touching on Penny. It just fucking pissed me off. I didn't feel like Krypt cared for Ash at all and I didn't buy that he wanted her for his old lady.
And Ash God give me strength not to reach into my kindle and choke a bitch. Ash was suppose to be this kick ass female prison guard that can kick men's asses and doesn't take shit from no one, but she was wishy washy and annoying as shit. She came off fake and like she was trying too hard to be a bad-ass. She let Krypt disrespect her with Penny and a club whore. And what the fuck was up with the threesome with Maddox's at the end. It made no sense. None. I am totally okay with ménage in books but this one just didn't fit. It was like the author was just throwing random things into the plot and it didn't work. Not to mention what a stab in the back it was to Santana. Santana who was suppose to be a close friend of Ash. How could Ash give Maddox a bj knowing Santana had something for Maddox. And I didn't buy that bullshit that she didn't know how Santana felt.
I didn't even enjoy the sex in this book. It was awkward and violent. I mean I am all for kinky rough sex, but who the fuck headbutts a man they are fucking??? For most of this book I was bored. For how all over the place this plot was there really wasn't much happening in this book besides being in a cabin in the woods and having violent sex. It kinda dragged for me but maybe that was because I wasn't feeling this book at all. I didn't feel a connection to the couple, didn't feel any chemistry between them, and just all around didn't care. I didn't like Maddox either. He is suppose to have feelings for Santana but he is fucking everything he can right in front of her. I get that they are not together and I'm going to try and have a open mind in their book but unnecessary bullshit drives me nuts. I understand that even when you love an author you don't always love everything they write and that is the case with this book. I really love Bella Jewel and I have loved every book of her but this one so I hope the next one is better because I already paid 3.99 a book for this series.

RATING: 2 Hearts
I started Precarious on a whim, and while I can’t say it was a terrific decision, surprisingly, some aspects of this were in fact fun – most notably the romance, Beau, and the Club. This is my first Bella Jewel book, and I can confidently say, it was an okay read for me.
As I was reading, my mixed feelings for this became quite apparent. Some aspects I enjoyed; 1. Bella’s oddly charming writing, despite the predictability of the plot; 2. Beau (Krypt) – from his gruff, take charge side to his protective and sweet side. Although, some of the stupid things he does especially with Penny, immensely pissed me off. 3. And, albeit the romance being OTT cheesy, I liked the sexy and not overly complicated dynamic of it. Its the kind that doesn't require much thought, and I was okay with that. Lastly, I also enjoyed the secondary characters, Beau’s MC “brothers” to Ash’s roommates.
While this book starts off good, my enjoyment was significantly dulled due to Ash and the ending. Ash is seemingly a strong and independent woman, but through the course of the story, we instead get the conclusion of a doormat. Every time Beau hurt her, her solution was always sex, ultimately going back to him every damn time! I mean, woman, self-respect, much? *queue eye rolls* It was hard for me to get behind a heroine like that.
Then the ending This whole scenario didn’t fit in with either the story or the main characters’ portrayal.
Overall, this had potential, yet it was poorly executed, especially with its rushed plot. I enjoyed some elements of it, but it didn’t win me over. I’m giving the next book, Melancholy, the benefit of the doubt, and hopefully it won’t disappoint too much.

This was a great story. It had plenty of action to keep me interested and the sex was smokin' hot! While the romance section seems to be flooded with bikers lately, and this book did have some similarities to other books in this sub-genre, the characters and storyline were unique enough to hold my attention.
With so many female protagonists in romance books cast as sweet, timid and passive, it was refreshing to read a story with a strong, opinionated heroine. Ash is no shrinking violet. She is tough as nails and a total badass! It was highly entertaining to read along as she brought several of these tough bikers down a few pegs. She was a force to be reckoned with and I was in awe of how ballsy she could be.
Beau, aka Krypt, must have been equally impressed. Having a penchant for rough sex, he soon finds himself unwilling to fight his attraction to the brazen and feisty woman. Humorous sexual banter and a short-lived battle of wills soon gives way to some hot and frisky sexcapades!
As Ash comes to terms with the fact that her captors are the only ones standing between her and certain death, she is also trying to sort out her feelings for Krypt. Despite the strong attraction she feels toward him, she can't foresee a future in which she is his property. The introduction of his ex-girlfriend, Penny, only leads to further confusion.
Tensions increase and things eventually come to a head with the rival MC. Meanwhile, tensions between Ash and Krypt have also reached a boiling point. I don't want to spoil it, so you'll have to read the story to see how it all works out.
I will say that I expected Ash to rake Krypt over hot coals for some of his actions and I felt disappointed that this didn't happen the way I wanted. It was the only time in the story that I felt that she was portrayed as the stereotypical weak female character, but that's just my opinion. I love the angst and heart-wrenching conflict before things work themselves out. Maybe I'm a masochist, but there wasn't enough pain and heartache for me.
I enjoyed this book a great deal and am looking forward to reading the second book in the series, delving into the story of Santana and Maddox. I'm dying to know what secret Maddox has been keeping from Santana. Maybe that revelation will provide the heartbreak and emotional torment that I crave in a story. Clearly, the two have enough pent up sexual frustrated between them to be explosive. Im on to their story now. Can't wait!

Precarious, first book in the Jokers Wrath MC Series
Overall, it has good plot and interesting characters.
Beau “Krypt” Dawson is the Vice President of the Joker’s Wrath MC while Ash is a prison guard. She come across in the story as some bad ass guard that’s why they called her “Wildcard�� however I didnt felt that she was a bad ass. Yeah she fought well, I mean she’s very good at it but the way she acts with Krypt didn’t feel like she kicked ass. 🤔 Then there’s Krypt and he was all over the place with Ash and Penny.
There were parts that I liked and there were parts that I felt rushed but this is still an okay book. 👌🏻

This book might not be the best and I admit it wasn't perfect but I was entertained. It was just so sassy!

I don't think I have ever read a book where they say "fuckin" so freaking much!
It had an interesting plot and it was great that the female character wasn't one of those "damsel in distress-types". She had backbone!

I like that Ash, the lead female protagonist, is a prison guard, she’s passionate about what she does, she’s fierce and she can take down a man double her size. She is not easily scared, she can stand her ground and she doesn’t play coy. Oh and her sex drive?
While Beau a.k.a Krypt, is the VP of the Jokers’ Wrath MC. He was apprehended and sent to prison after being accused of killing a man and his family.
This is how Ash met Krypt and her life is about to change… ;)
Krypt knows he was set up by a rival MC lead by Howard… And that Howard paid some prison guards to beat him up to get information. When all the beating got them nowhere, they (the dirty guards) sent him for a transfer to a high security prison, only it was a to be ambushed along the way by Howard’s men… Only problem is, Krypt’s MC beats Howard’s men to it. And Ash, being one of the escorts, is in the middle of it all.
Sounds pretty darn good right?
Krypt is described six feet tall, with hard muscles, dark brown hair… with tattoos and lower lip piercing…. and with stark grey eyes. Or in other words, he is “incredibly handsome”. ;) And when it comes to sex, he likes it rough!
And this would be perfect since Ash is into that too! In fact, she likes it even more rough!
Sex was… well, It was hot, except for the head butting and elbow shoving… nope, don’t find that hot… but the rest was intense and hot. Then there was that menage a trois… But I’ll get back to you on that one….

Ash can be too much of a smug…. I get that she’s proud that she can take down men bigger than her but she also just loves challenging them for fun? Or a part of the story that I can do without.
Then just when I thought she was smart, she goes all effing confused and starts acting out like a, and I quote, “pathetic child”! Seriously, just when I thought I was liking her, it all went out the window just like that!
As for Krypt… well the poor guy, if he never had someone so eager to take him on on his rough choice of sex… I mean, he did just say this :
I thought the club whores loves everything! Maybe he means someone that is not a club whore and one he’s really into. ;)
Then there’s Penny, Krypt’s little angel/ex-girlfriend… whose presence rattles Ash’s cage… Enters more eye rolling here!
I also wanted more suspense and action on my MC novel… But for what was there though…. I thought it was alright.
Let me go back to the menage a trois…. Mais oui, it was hot! ;) But what wasn’t hot was that I don’t believe she never thought for a second that Santana, the girl she considers her friend and whom she owed a favour she can never repay, did not have feelings for Maddox, the president of the MC! And for her to cross that line with Maddox, was, again, a huge no no.
I did like how the murder case and club war rounds up in the end. I am sad for Whiskey but I think he did good. ❤️
I am a fan of Bella Jewel… I love all her MC books… but for reason’s mentioned above, this one just wasn’t it for me.
This also gives you a glimpse of the upcoming Santana and, I’m guessing, Maddox story. I am definitely interested to read about that…. Maddox seemed like his going to be trouble and I’m curious what Santana’s story is about… ;)

Sex was… well, It was hot, except for the head butting and elbow shoving… nope, don’t find that hot… but the rest was intense and hot. Then there was that menage a trois… But I’ll get back to you on that one….
Now, to what I did not like…. :(
Ash can be too much of a smug…. I get that she’s proud that she can take down men bigger than her but she also just loves challenging them for fun? I mean, come on, obviously those big bad-ass scary bikers did not want to hurt her, right?! I don’t know… I just wasn’t buying into her karate kid moves, lol. I thought it just way over the top. Or a part of the story that I can do without.
Then just when I thought she was smart, she goes all effing confused and starts acting out like a, and I quote, “pathetic child”! Seriously, just when I thought I was liking her, it all went out the window just like that!
As for Krypt… well the poor guy, if he never had someone so eager to take him on on his rough choice of sex… I mean, he did just say this :
“Fuck,” he hisses. “Never had one so eager.”
I thought the club whores loves everything! Maybe he means someone that is not a club whore and one he’s really into. ;)
Then there’s Penny, Krypt’s little angel/ex-girlfriend… whose presence rattles Ash’s cage… Enters more eye rolling here!
I also wanted more suspense and action on my MC novel… But for what was there though…. I thought it was alright.
Let me go back to the menage a trois…. Mais oui, it was hot! ;) But what wasn’t hot was that I don’t believe she never thought for a second that Santana, the girl she considers her friend and whom she owed a favour she can never repay, did not have feelings for Maddox, the president of the MC! And for her to cross that line with Maddox, was, again, a huge no no.
I did like how the murder case and club war rounds up in the end. I am sad for Whiskey but I think he did good. ❤️
I am a fan of Bella Jewel… I love all her MC books… but for reason’s mentioned above, this one just wasn’t it for me.
This also gives you a glimpse of the upcoming Santana and, I’m guessing, Maddox story. I am definitely interested to read about that…. Maddox seemed like his going to be trouble and I’m curious what Santana’s story is about… ;)

Hot MC read
Firstly I love a woman who can stand up for herself and Ash has backbone and sass so I liked her character a lot.
I liked Krypt but he wasn't as alpha as I hoped he would be or as swoon worthy, so bit of a let down there, if anything Ash did the claiming in the relationship and made the decisions.
Kypt is in prison were Ash is a guard and when transferring Krypt to a new prison they are ambushed resulting in Ash becoming a hostage of the MC.
Great plot filled with angst,danger,kidnapping,hot sex, MC action and drama, yes it certainly had it all and brilliantly written, read in one sitting.
Reading as part of a box set and I hope to see more of this couple in the other books because I didn't get the hea I hoped they would have and what about the ex? I still have unanswered questions and hopefully ill find out.

Great story about Krypt ( Beau) and Ash which kicks off what I'm sure will be an excellent series. We are introduced to the other Bikers and Ash's friends Claire and Leo plus a few baddies.
There is a lot of heat, intensity, passion and action. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I found I have a bit of a love/ hate feeling for Ash, the heroine. Be interesting to see how all these characters play out. MELANCHOLY, Santana and Maddox's story comes out in September. Can't wait......

Ummm.....hmmm...not too sure about this one....it was kind of all over the place and I'm so confused right now. Seriously what just happened? Didn't feel the connection between the MCs. It seemed like the heroine was so OTT badass, and I'll say it again, seriously what the fuck just happened at the end??? Sooooo fuuucking ridiculous!

Writing a 'biker' book isn't easy... it takes balls... like big, huge balls because the world of a motorcycle club (if depicted correctly) is rarely hearts and flowers. In fact far from it. Bikers live a certain way of life. They have their own set of rules. It's usually a world knee deep in criminal activity, where men are the dominant sex and women... well women tend to get used and occasionally abused. Trying to roll all of that into a romance novel is a difficult task, one I would trust with (only) a hand full of authors and Bella Jewel is one of them.
I first fell in love with this author's work way back when she wrote her first series entitled "MC Sinners" and I haven't looked back since. Yes she's gone on to write other books but I'm so glad she decided to go back to bad ass bikers in her latest series "Joker's Wrath MC" because... well... she has bikers down to a T.
"Precarious" was a fantastic introduction to this latest Motorcycle club. It had a raw gritty edge to it which I would expect from a book of this nature but it was balanced perfectly with some light hearted humour which I absolutely loved. Add a kick ass heroine and one very hot alpha into the mix and this was one book which held my attention from start to finish.
Ash was a fantastic female lead. She was fiercely independent, feisty, sassy and knew how to take care of herself. Her upfront attitude was one to be admired...her upfront attitude also got her into a whole load of trouble!!!
And Krypt... holy moly was that man all kinds of knee buckling hotness. He was broody, moody and liked to be in charge including in the bedroom and when these two bumped uglies.... well, even I blushed... talk about living out your fantasies!!! (fans self).
Put these two together and the chemistry was absolutely there (well what would be the point in reading on if it wasn't... right?) but they were from two different worlds that abided by two very different sets of rules... it was an impossible situation. I could completely relate to Ash's reluctance to commit to anything more than a physical relationship because she had so much to lose. It went against everything she stood for... plus she was not in the business of becoming anyone's property... even if that someone made her vagina do all sorts of crazy!!! I liked that she stood her ground even if she did get jealous as hell. It just made her character all the more relatable and believable.
I can't wait to get my hands on the next book which will be Maddox and Santana's book. I'm dying to know what the president of the Joker's Wwrath MC is hiding and I have my knickers in a twist over how their story will unfold. Another job well done Bella Jewel. I rated "Precarious" 4 Stars.

To be honest I was so caught up in the moment, even I didn't think about the fall out of the characters action. It was only when the proverbial hit the fan that I actually suddenly thought "oh crap!!!" There were stabbings, shoot outs, kidnappings, betrayal and double crossings... you name it, we got it but it was all a days work for these bad boys. I loved this element of the story as much as I loved the romance. I was definitely kept on my toes that's for sure.

Woohoo! A new MC series by Bella Jewel! I enjoyed her previous MC series, as well as her Contemporary Adult books, so I it was a no brainer to give this a try. The synopsis was very intriguing, particularly the part where the heroine is a guard/corrections officer. A corrections officer! Yea. That’s definitely a new one. This should be interesting.
“The minute I saw you, the minute you opened your mouth, there was something about you I’d never seen in a lady before. It’s not just about the fucking. Ash – it’s about the fact that you give me something no one else ever has.”
When it came to careers, Ash wanted something different. She couldn’t see herself working behind a desk nor a cashier; she wanted something challenging. Being a female guard has its disadvantages, but believe it or not, she’s good at her job. She has a certain rapport with the prisoners, but in no way is she a pushover; this chick knows how to protect herself. She has good days and certainly bad days, but her life is about to change when a certain Biker is sent to her prison.
Beau, a.k.a. Krypt, is sent to prison after being accused of murder. However, the witnesses are a bit sketchy on the details and still awaiting trial. He also knows that the murder was a setup from a rival MC and that he’s not completely safe in prison. Dirty guards are all over the place and make his life even more difficult. But the one person he cannot understand is Ash. Why this woman even tries to understand him is an enigma. When a transport to another prison goes wrong, he and Ash are thrust back into his world.
“I’m fucking keepin’ you, Ash. Because there is no way I can go through my life without feeling that kind of intensity again.”
This book was hot and certainly entertaining, I cannot deny that, but it wasn’t perfect. The story, for the most part, was well paced and kept me turning the page. Krypt and Ash…Wow! Their bedroom chemistry was ridiculously steamy…and downright kinky. The biggest thing that bothered me about their story, and kept me from giving them a full four stars, was the ending. No matter, I did enjoy this and am looking forward to Maddox & Santana’s story and more from this MC Series.

So I absolutely LOVED this book. The h was OFF the charts awesome and the H was amazingly possessive, sexy and bad a**.
The sex? Holy shit balls ladies, it was CRAZY hot.
The story? SUPER entertaining and TOTALLY fun!!!!!
The other characters? Funny, crazy, awesome - SCARY!
So, while I give this 5 stars for all the above, there was ONNNEEEEE little thing that nagged me. Just a weeeeeee bit.

Okay, where to start this is your typical MC book where bad boy meets good girl and they fight have hot wild sex in the club house. and of course they fall for each other. I'm not saying it was insta-love between Ash & Beau. But they did end up together.
This book didn't WOW me as much as Hell's Knights did. But I did highly enjoy it and the steamy hot sex scenes and But how could Ash not pick up any of Santana feelings. I picked that shit up from the very get go.
And when Penny came in, I thought here we go with the unnecessary drama and I was right. And also what was up with Ash whoring her self out sleeping with Beau in the beginning of the book. It was kinda fast.
But overall I enjoy it, I read it in one night so you know it was good. And of course anything by Bella is amazing.
So I'm getting an ARC copy of her second book in this series and I can't wait to share my thoughts with you.
