THE BACHELOR PRINCE

A man who happens to be a prince…

Stefano Giorgio Paolo is the heir to the throne of his small country, and he's come to America in search of a bride. A wealthy bride who can help save his kingdom from financial ruin. But the woman he actually wants is Hope Jordan—who has nothing to offer him except her love. Can The Bachelor Prince give up his throne for the woman he loves?

YESTERDAY'S HERO

A prince of a man

Renowned photographer Cain Hawkins proposes a marriage of convenience to marine biologist Leah Talmadge—so she won't have to miss the adventure of a lifetime, an expedition to study the rare whales of the faraway Diamantina Islands. The governor denies permission for an unmarried man and woman to share living quarters. The obvious solution is marriage. A temporary solution, they think. As it turns out, there's more to this marriage than convenience—and Cain's a lot more than Yesterday's Hero!

I absolutely loved both stories. I will say that the second story grabbed me more than the first but they were still both really good. Read this book in 3 days. Every chance that I got, I was reading. Totally worth 5 stars! Any book that I can't put down is worth 5 stars :) I recommend this book to romantics who have a good imagination.

I came across a Little Library not far from me and couldn't resist taking two Debbie Macomber books. They were both reissues with two stories each. Neither book was worth the read, I'm sorry to say, especially because I've enjoyed so many of her later books. The two stories in this reissue had very unrealistic and awful story lines ... really outdated with hard to bear, simplistic stories. I actually found the first story (The Bachelor Prince) rather tasteless. I wouldn't even donate these. Sorry

Loved both stories. Ms Macomber's heroes and heroines don't fit the mold. They fall and love hard. These books were no exception. I LOVED both stories!!!

A Real Prince by Debbie Macomber is a 2 in 1 read. Two novellas inside one amazing book.

The first tale is about a prince whose country is in a bad state. Financially speaking, it needs to find a way to get money flowing again. The prince's only way to save his country is to find himself a rich bride. However, he finds a woman who steals his heart instead. She doesn't have money to offer him, but her love is so much more than he imagined. The prince isn't the only man who finds someone to love...

The second tale is about a photographer who teams up with a female biologist to go on a lifetime adventure. The only catch is that only a married couple can go on this trip...so, a fake marriage of convience happens and the unexpected happens. A life altering change for both. Love hits them hard when they least expected it. A beautiful gift is given to them as well.

A Real Prince by Debbie Macomber was well-written. Heartfelt, chariming, and sweet. Romantic too. Each of the characters felt real. Their lives were believable. The situations they're in were fun to watch unfold. Every page was entertaining. Overall, I highly recommend it to all.

This has to be one of my favorites! Both stories were excellent! I love the story of the prince, but my favorite was the one after that. Cain and Leah, the marine biologist and the photographer. Getting married to go on the job.. having great adventures but really not communicating well. Anyway, they of course end up falling in love and staying married.. but the story was just a great read! Love this one!!!

Two stories in this book #1 The Bachelor Prince - Stefano Giorgio Paolo is the heir to the throne in his small country. He goes to America to find a wealthy bride to help save his country from financial ruin. #2 Yesterday's Hero - Cain Hawkins a renowned photographer and Leah Talmadge, a marine biologist have to get married so they can go on an expedition to study rare whales of Diamantina Islands. I liked both stories even though I could predict the outcome of them both.

Classic Macomber. Whenever I need a romance fix, I go right to Debbie. She is a master of creating complex characters and stories, and I love to learn about each character. These two stories were interesting and engaging, and I love them from start to finish.

Both stories are cute and sweet, though I had a couple of issues with both stories:

I felt the romance wasn't quite developed enough in The Bachelor Prince. There was more chemistry and a more developed storyline between the secondary characters' romance (the prince's secretary and the heiress) than between the prince and the heroine. The conflict also seemed too conveniently resolved.

With Yesterday's Hero, I was just turned off by the hero's constant references to having to feed the heroine, which was so much like Twilight, and I definitely didn't like how the hero chose to resolve the conflict in the end. It turned out okay, obviously, but he just struck me as controlling and could've turned out stalkerish.

Still both stories were entertaining.

Purchased at CVS; read on the plane from DC to SEA. Individual reviews can be found here:

The Bachelor Prince: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Yesterday's Hero: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

But to summarize: horrible - not worth reading, borrowing from library, purchasing, etc. These were my first reads of Debbie Macomber, and it is highly unlikely I'll go out of my way to read any of her other works.

Also - an observation - she appears to treat sex in a very Donna a la Mamma Mia / Stefanie Meyer a la Twilight fashion. Meaning there's a lot of " . . . " or [fade to black]. Silly...

Well, to be honest, this is very good! I like the second part of Leah & Cain. I love how these two are into love each other more than anything. I had no idea about Leah having a baby! It's blew me away that Cain found out about Leah having a baby in the picture & I was hooked into it! I love how these two dynamic together over the next few days but I really hates see Cain's outbursts a few times.

Kudos to Debbie Maccomber!

These reissues are still hit and miss. The first was okay, cute and kind of charming. The second was a dud, no connection to the characters and felt forced and dated. Still waiting for the Macomber reissue where both are worth the read.

These stories were a quick read.

I enjoyed Yesterday's Hero a bit more due to the mother and calf whale stories.

Both were a bit "fluffy" for my tastes and contained too little character development. Any conflict that arose were too easily resolved.

Another classic of the author I consider my "go to beach read". This is a re-packaging of 2 of her earlier novels.

Very cute pair of stories! Unrealistic, of course, but sweet and romantic and mindless. Always fun to escape the real world for books like these.

The first book was good, but cliché. The second book I couldn't finish because it was too predictable.
