When the ghost of his past becomes the nightmare of his present, one man has everything to lose - and nothing left to fear.
Max Voronin built his life on one simple survive at all costs. Former special forces operative turned billionaire oil magnate, he vanished into self-imposed exile in Malta to protect the person he loved most - his daughter, Anna. But when a brutal attack shatters their peaceful life, Max knows his past has finally caught up with him.
Dragged back into the ruthless world of modern Moscow, a landscape riddled with corruption, double-crosses and deadly ambition, Max must navigate a labyrinth of lies and lethal enemies - corrupt oligarchs, mafia kingpins, and shadowy intelligence operatives who will do anything to control power.
Betrayed by his allies. Hunted by his enemies. Fueled by his grief. Max's only mission now is revenge.
But vengeance will cost him more than he ever imagined.

True rating 3.5.
I had to restart this book more than once, there is a lot of information and a lot of characters to get your head around, I even had to make notes after the very last restart. However it was a good story (once I could get into it). This is planned to be the first installment in the series. I wouldn't rush out to buy book 2, but I would certainly read it.
I really enjoyed this book, I really liked the characters and I constantly felt gripped but there was a bit to much information to process at some points but I’d definitely recommend this book to friends and family.
