Not exactly a biography as much as a history of the band told in photos and vignettes by Lawrence, the main force behind the band Felt. It's a quick read, even if you take you time as there are hundreds of photos and often it's just photos and then a few pages on there will be a brilliant quote by Lawrence relating to the photo, the then current tour, recording or band drama. Each chapter is organized by a particular year and on the chapter page lists books, movies, music and shows that were essential to that time. Lawrence had a specific vision for the band (i.e., Design of a Decade as Felt fans are aware) down to the clothes they wore and the tone and mood of the photographs. Imagine the impact they might've had if they'd done the same things in the social media times. They still wouldn't have been huge, but like U2 who, before they were huge sold more merch than bands far more popular than they due to a concerted effort to evoke a mood and an image, Felt could've become a larger footnote in the history of music. Awesome that this exists.
Superb trawl through Lawrence's vast archive of Felt photos. Nicely presented, intro blurb by yr boy Bob Stanley and various thoughts scattered throughout by Lawrence himself. If you're a Felt fan then it's a bit of a must.
