This is the book I wish I had when I was struggling with my mental health as a young adult, stuffing down feelings and burying trauma in order to survive. This book blends psychology, science, scripture, and my own personal experience living with the labels of PTSD, depression, and bipolar disorder. I hope that this book helps readers see that they are so much more than a cluster of symptoms on a DSM checklist. I hope they feel seen, heard, and validated in these pages. Every chapter is packed with helpful tools and ends with a mind-body activity to tune into your body’s unique needs.

I received an advanced copy of Live Beyond Your Label and this is my honest review. Erin Kerry’s book is the most helpful, practical, and genuine guide to whole-body health I’ve ever read. She takes complicated topics—nutrition, mental health, spiritual wellness—and makes them easy to understand and apply. Her practical tips are so doable that even my teenagers listened along with me and started putting some of her advice into practice.

Erin’s years of education, experience, and podcasting shine through in every chapter. She blends science, personal experience, and spiritual wisdom seamlessly, offering a truly holistic approach to health and healing. The spiritual insights especially spoke to me, showing how caring for our bodies, minds, and spirits is an act of honoring God.

I’ve known Erin personally for over a decade and have walked this journey with her. She is the real deal—authentic, compassionate, and committed to helping people experience true wholeness. Live Beyond Your Label reflects the work Jesus has done in her life and the wisdom she’s gained along the way.

If you’re looking for a book that’s down-to-earth, easy to understand, and full of actionable steps for a whole-body “glow up,” this is it. I’m so proud of Erin and thrilled to recommend this book to anyone ready to live beyond their label and embrace vibrant health in every area of life.

I received an advanced copy of this book. Below is my honest review:

Live Beyond Your Label is a profound blend of Christianity and health science like you’ve never seen before. Erin Kerry weaves together scripture, medical insight, and deeply personal storytelling to reveal the undeniable connection between mind, body, and spirit. The way she explains this connection is both artful and accessible, offering readers not just theory but practical wisdom.

From the very first chapter, I found myself in tears—it felt as though Kerry was speaking directly to me. Her words are beautifully composed, her story incredibly compelling, and her vulnerability draws you in with an authenticity that is rare in both faith-based and health-related writing.

Kerry bravely names the universal struggles so many of us face—clinical and personal labels, fatigue, chronic pain, gut issues, autoimmune flares, the frustration of “normal” labs that don’t match lived experience—and places them in a context that merges scripture and science. What results is a narrative that is both diagnostic and solution-oriented, offering truth, hope, and action in equal measure.

This book stands alongside the messages of authors like Lisa Terkurst and books such as Present Over Perfect, yet it also carries the embodied wisdom and depth found in works such as The Body Keeps the Score. Kerry manages to balance the literary and the practical, and the spiritual and the scientific, in a way that provides a beacon of hope and a clear path forward out of the rut.

Live Beyond Your Label is more than a book—it is an invitation to healing. It offers hope for those living with medical labels, chronic mystery illnesses, autoimmune disease, or stored trauma, but it is also a phenomenal guide just for anyone seeking to stay healthy in a society that is built to function against the nourishment of the spirit.

If you have ever felt dismissed, exhausted, overwhelmed, or unseen in your health journey, this book will meet you where you are and remind you that true wholeness is possible. Erin Kerry has given us a gift—a blueprint for living fully beyond the labels we’ve been given.

I received an advanced copy and can honestly say that ANYONE who struggles with ANY type of mental illness or negative self talk should read it. It's so full of hope and confidence in the One who only talks positively of us-Jesus. Erin's transparency should make everyone feel like they are not alone. As one of Erin's former college roommates, and watching her struggle broke my heart. Seeing the transformation that God has done in her life and through her words is nothing short of inspirational.

I just sat down and finished the last section of my friend, Erin Kerry’s, book. I had a yummy bowl of soup that I intentionally savored as I read the final chapters, because Erin has taught me so much about how my mind, digestion, and health are interconnected.

If you think you don’t “need” this book because you’ve never had a mental health diagnosis or trauma in your life, I can assure you that you do need this book. We all live in bodies made by our Creator with a plan and a purpose. These bodies feel stress and negative thoughts and we need tools to work in partnership with our bodies through these times.

For me, as a mother, I have two daughters that I can specifically use two areas in Erin’s book to assist them in their emotional growth. The information presented is so relatable and easy-to-understand that you will feel empowered to incorporate more than one thing from her book into your daily life. I’ve already practiced mindful breath work in traffic and in the stress of getting kids multiple places on time this week.

I have long said that I have a hard time with podcasters or influencers because I don’t know if what they share is real or the polished version. I want to see and follow the examples of people I know in real life. Fortunately for me, and you, I know Erin in real life and her book is an authentic version of her: the mom I see at school drop off, the speaker I’ve heard at conferences, and the friend who comes to book club at my house. You’re going to read an authentic and valuable book written by a woman who poured her true self into the pages. She’ll become your friend too.

You all need this book. Get it wherever you buy books. She already has an audio version out, too!

This book is so good and definitely worth the read! Erin provides great information on the mind, body, soul connection and how it relates to healing. The book is the perfect combination of research and science, Biblical wisdom, as well as her personal story to effectively communicate this message. A perfect resource for mental health or medical practitioners, but also a useful source for any person on a journey to health and healing in mind, body, and soul. This book will encourage you and provide so many strategies to incorporate into your pursuit of healing. I was able to listen to the audio version of the book prior to the release date. Erin’s pace and pleasant voice make the audio version easy to listen to and understand. I can’t wait to get a hard copy of the book, because there are so many sections I want to be able to highlight and reference for my own life and in my practice as a mental health professional.

Live Beyond Your Label is an incredible book! If you're looking for practical tools to help you live a life of freedom and health—mind, body, and soul—this is your book. Erin is not only extremely knowledgeable and engaging, but also painstakingly vulnerable and honest as she shares her own experiences and life lessons. One of my favorite parts is the practical exercises at the end of each section. They guide you through understanding yourself more fully—your body, your feelings, and how those feelings connect to your nervous system. As you read, you feel empowered to learn, heal, and grow. Grounded in scripture and backed by solid research, Live Beyond Your Label offers real hope that inspires lasting transformation.

I cannot think of a single person who could not benefit from reading this book. If you have ever dealt with stress, anxiety, worries over nutrition or exercise, sleep problems, there is something for everyone in this book. There is a ton of really well researched science behind everything in this book, but it is also super approachable and she breaks it down for you in an easy to comprehend way. I was literally using the simple tools she gave to deal with stress while I was reading, but there are also more suggestions that you can implement in to your life for long term benefits for your health and wellness.

I enjoyed listening to this on audio and flew through it! What can often be complicated concepts are broken down into manageable, concise, interesting, and practically applicable chunks, written with such clarity that the topics aren’t overwhelming at all. I’m convinced this book has something for everyone. For those of us with a Christian worldview, it can be difficult to find perspectives on holistic health that align with our beliefs, and this book offers that in a fresh, reliable way. But even if the reader doesn’t share those beliefs, there are so many helpful tips for whole living that it’s worth the read.

It’s easy to read but PACKED with research to back it up! Erin is one of the most researched people I’ve met. And she lives what she teaches. You won’t regret reading this book!! Can’t recommend enough!!

Need help getting out of health rut? Feel great but want to make sure you don't fall into a health rut? This book is fantastic!
Live Beyond Your Label covers everything from psychology to nutrition to scientific studies to exercise to mindset to faith. Our health is not a one stop shop, and this book weaves all of these aspects together.
As a firm believer in Christ, Erin Kerry has Scripture throughout her book and recognizes the place of faith in one's health. As a believer, I always feel this is a huge piece missing bring health books, podcasts, even doctor's appointments. It's hard to address your health without acknowledging the God who is sovereign over your health!
There are so many practical tips in this book. I feel like I don't just have a list of things to ask my doctor, but I have a book of tools to help myself from the comfort of my own home. Breathing, mindset shift, toning down the negative self talk, foods to eat, exercise, addressing trauma. She has lists to make for taking inventory of what's happening in your mind and body and gives you ideas for how to address these things.
Sometimes health feels only so much in our control, but this book is a great reminder that there is so much that IS within my control!

Erin does a beautiful job at balancing the science behind our brains , how we function in our world , and how Christ overcomes all . This book also provides functional and tangible ways to overcoming the negative mindset that is inherent due to our sinful nature .. she presents the material in a graceful , loving way which allows our hearts , minds , and souls to heal and become more Christ-like

So I am part of book release group and listening to this and already struck by how relevant and needed this book is to me and others in my life! I've had to stop it and write down things that were so true and I needed to ponder on and share with others. As Ive been trying to heal and become healthier I've quickly learned I needed to address my thoughts/mind; my body- exercise, breathing and what I eat/supplements and my spirit- more time in God's Word, worship and prayer. Just addressing one of these was not working. This book addressed this! So excited to read more!
