Trust—Contessa Iris has spent her entire life trusting the wrong people. A widowed single mother of a beloved mafia leader, she has spent the last five years trying to piece together the fragments of her identity. When her deceased husband’s secrets come out to play, she realizes her and her son’s safety is at risk. Desperate for protection, she turns to the person she least expected could protect them.
Purpose—Polaris “Polo” Augustine craves it. As a former cartel trafficker, Polo has had a hard time figuring out what’s next in his life. When the opportunity to become a bodyguard for the older woman he’s had a crush on for years presents itself, he jumps on the chance, and the sparks between them fly.
For Contessa, the man she never knew she needed to protect her could very well turn out to be her forever bodyguard.

Age Gap relationship. Contessa is the widow of a much older man. Who her father made her marry. Her stepdaughter’s husband friend Polo, has been interested in her for a long time. Because he was 9 years younger than her. She kept the relationship as friends only. When Contessa needs help protecting her young son. Polo is only to happy to help her.
3.5 stars…For this book to be delayed to go through another round of editing there were so many inconsistencies and errors. I pay attention to details when I’m reading so this really bothered me. The story also seemed rushed. The plot didn’t hit like the previous 2 books. She never saw these two as a couple and honestly it shows. This is definitely my least favorite of the series
Chileeee....Cougar books are my faves! Polo shoots his shot and hit his target! I love how he came behind Ty! He meant business & Tessa finally got a man worthy of her. 💛💚💜
Listen… I absolutely loved this series, and book 3? Baby, it was such a good time watching Polo step fully into his BDE! We’ve always seen him as the playful one, the joker of the crew, and let’s be honest—Contessa was not trying to hear it from him for the longest just because of his age. But when it was time to handle business? Polo was ten toes down.
The growth, the confidence, the way he showed up for Contessa when it really mattered? Yeah, that man came through. And once Contessa let her guard down, realized she could be vulnerable with him and actually trust him to take the lead? Oh, it was on and poppin’. The chemistry, the tension, the emotional pull—it all hit just right.
A. Blossom really wrapped this series up beautifully. Polo and Contessa finally crossing that line brought everything full circle, and it made for a finale that was satisfying, swoon-worthy, and a lil’ spicy in all the best ways. I can’t wait to see what she drops next because I’m absolutely locked in!
A great addition to the series with Polo and Tessa. It’s a dark romance but an easy, breezy, mostly gentle read. I liked Polo and Tessa even though I wasn’t exactly gagging to read their book. I loved the epilogue and the way the age gap was handled - it was beautifully-done. I think one thing I would have liked would have been to be taken a little deeper into the story with a bit more character and plot development. It would have been great to understand a little more what happened to the rest of the sisters for them to even speak, to understand how the job for Polo at the end will work or come about. There was at times a little too much magic wand-waving… which admittedly makes for a breezy and short read but means what is an interesting premise isn’t as fully developped and memorable as it could have been.
We already knew Polo had a thing for Tessa, but she wasn't ready for him...until now. This older woman decided to give this younger man a chance when life literally throws them together. Tessa is reeling from the new knowledge of Jacob's betrayal, Smitty's place in the death of her parents as well as how he's played her. Polo is right there protecting her and Ty at every turn. I love how Polo is this confident man, who has matured so much that he's giving Tessa life lessons. What some may see as a rushed relationship, is really the result of these two playing cat and mouse since her and Monroe became even closer after Jacob's death. Happy Reading Y'all!💋
Oh, I loved Polo. He was a true crash out but looked out for someone who did him a solid. I was waiting for their story, and it did not disappoint. He was more calculated than his brother.
Yeah, A. Blossom went out with a bang on this serious.
Contessa was in a bind and didn't know what to do but in comes her knight in shining armor Polo, she needed someone to protect her and her son and he was not going to let anyone else do it. Loved this book
Forever My Bodyguard was one wild euphoric ride full of action! The chase, romance, and spiciness will keep flipping the page of a really great age gap romance!
I was all the way team Mr. London, but babe after ready this here, I’m official a cougar lol as I’m about Mr. Augustine!! Don’t get at me, get at ya momma 🤣🤣🤣!
The life that was dealt for Contessa was no life for anyone! The way her family had no issue with giving their daughter up to the highest bidder is just as bad as trafficking- my opinion! But the fact that Tessa was eager to provide a different life for her son and make sure the cycle ends was everything! My girl had her ups and down but she pushed through and did the best she can. To me that showed she was far from weak. Honestly I never thought she was weak, just a little lost. However to not only be in an arrange marriage first and then find out that you were sold to repay a debt is life shattering by itself. My girl Tessa went through it all but still was able to come out on top and with her man - Polo
Listen any man that willing to give his all, listens, supports, leads, protect and show unconditional love to me as my child, will have my undivided attention! When apology seen that Tessa needed to protect her son Tyler, there was no thought about it- he was doing it. The way Polo knew her and knew when something was wrong and breath taken. Can we discuss the was he had no issues with sacrificing hisself and freedom for her and Ty just so they can be free and live! Let not forget the bond him and Ty had. When I say I had teary eyes, I had just that 🥹! Oh let’s discuss the way these loved her down physically 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and emotional 😝😝! We can definitely talk about it lol!
Now to see all these men and women find there forever was amazing and I was here for it. The way these women has found that bodyguard that would be apart of their forever was it for me! So again where can I find me a BODYGUARD!!!
Knowing that Tessa and Polo were not gonna get a story, made this book even better. I love me some A. Blossom. I was waiting for Polo story since book one how he helped get Monroe back and how he kept royal and meet you on their toes at all times. The fact that this man let it be known that he didn’t care what Tessa had going on that she had a son that she was a widower he was looking to tie her down And wasn’t ashamed to let anybody else know it. The whole cat and mouth only made the ride more enjoyable. However, Tessa was really playing hard to get on top of that. She was really in her head about being older than him and having baggage that came along with her. All the while it is so understanding, but She left the people the closest to her in the dark when she didn’t have to be going to half the stuff that she went through by herself. To say that they both were the people that they never knew . that they needed, but we’re both right there all along just made more sense that this book had to happen. The way the two of them were with each other and how they express their appreciation for one another was super sweet, and although the one wasn’t taught how to really love or except help, whereas the other one grew up, having to be on guard at all times has a polo having a relationship with Ty was not the cherry on top And the way that polo would do any and everything for both Tessa and her son spoke volumes.
When I saw there was a third book, I knew I had to complete the series. This isn't my first time reading an age gap book, but it is my first time reading about the woman being the elder in the relationship.
Like Monroe and Samara, Contessa was placed in an arranged relationship for the convince of her family's business. However, she seemed to have it the worse because she was the only one who actually ended up married to a man that she was not in love with and was 21 years her senior. She stuck things out and, played the role she was forced into, and tried her best to carry out with style and grace. The only benefit was her becoming friends with her stepdaughter, who was only a few years younger than her.
While Contessa thought there was some kind of love in her marriage before her husband's death, she quickly learned there never was, and she was a pawn all along.
Nonetheless, Polo, who expressed interest in her for years, never let up on pursuing her despite their nine-year age difference. She was able to finally get the true love and protection she always wanted within her relationship, and I loved to see that for both her and her son.
Ms. Blossom, this series was straight 🔥. I love how each man had to protect their lady in a powerful way. Their strength, intelligence, and willpower were unmatched for anyone trying to take their women. By any means necessary, each man did what they had to do to save their significant other.
Now Polo did not come to play with Smitty and his crew. Not only was Polo already in love with Tessa, but he also loved Tyler. He saw Tyler as his son before him, and Tessa officially became a couple. Tyler needed a real male father figure in his life because his biological father was far from it. I loved how Polo unapologetically sought out Tessa. He did not care about her age. He fell in love with her, which tells you love has no age limits.
Now, let's discuss how Diondre, aka Jared, should tell his story. It was obvious he had a sweet spot for Presley. She had been through her own storm, so I know she has lots to say. It would be magnificent to read their story. As a matter of fact, you could do a full series on Tessa and her sisters. It would be disheartening but joyous to witness them being loved correctly.
I have always loved Polo from the first moment he was introduced! To know that he grieved our homie Fabian as hard as we did…made me start crying again. I’m so glad that he stepped back & wanted a slower paced life. Now Tessa, even though she my girl, she was pissing me off. She was acting like the had no mafia training, just soooo timid. I get having to rebuild especially when the life you knew was a lie but she didn’t stand up for herself enough for me. We KNOW she’s strong. I’m glad we didn’t have much of her parents cause WTF?!?! 🤬 The dynamic of her sisters made me want to cry. Seeing Polo man up for his family especially the way he loved on Ty was so warming. He literally protected her & her heart! I knew Tika was go be something else & thank God for Jared cause Smitty would’ve won had it not been for him. The new career for Polo was shocking to me but a perfect fit! It was well worth the wait!
To be yours, to love, and protect forever. That line sums up everything I adored about this story. Contessa Iris, a strong but vulnerable single mom trying to protect her son from a past that won’t stay buried, finds safety and passion in the most unexpected place—Polo Augustine, her forever bodyguard.
Polo was everything: attentive, protective, and so good with Tyler—already stepping into the role of a father figure before he even had the title. I loved how he remained consistent in showing up, not just for Contessa but for her son too. His patience while Contessa tried to convince herself she didn’t want him made the romance all the more satisfying.
And the reunion with her sisters? Heartwarming. It was a beautiful reminder that healing often comes from reconnection. This story gave action, love, purpose, and family—definitely a good read.
Polo and Tessa's book was one that I had been looking forward to. I'm glad the author listened to her readers and decided to give us their story. Polo had always been about Tessa, but she wouldn't give him the time of day because of their age difference. When Smitty came into the picture as a threat, Polo wasn't having it, and he decided he was going to protect Tessa and her son, Ty, with his life. I was glad when Tessa stopped fighting her feelings for Polo and gave into the chemistry that was going on between them. The love story was, the love scenes were spicy, and the drama was thrilling. It was good to have the characters from the previous Bodyguards show up as always to help one another. I'm just hoping that we will get a book with Diondre and Presley.
CHILE!!! Polo is that guy! You hear me? He was on Tessa for five hears, flirting and asking her to give him a chance, to no avail. Tessa thought he was fine but too young for her. When she needs a bodyguard for her son due to her dead husband's deeds, Polo readily volunteers for the job. This was his chance to show Tessa how much she and Ty meant to him. Polo may have been younger than her, but his life experiences and her lack there of were a match made in heaven. He made it his purpose to give her and Ty everything they needed—stability, reassurance and safety. And she, in turn, was able to embody the qualities he admired the most in a woman. They created a harmonious balance amongst the chaos that surrounded them.
This story didn’t deliver for me like the previous two in this series. I liked Polo’s character a lot and liked that he wanted to love and protect Contessa and Tyler. I also liked that Polo was determined to provide Tessa with happy memories to erase the ones from her past.
I did find there were several inconsistencies or things that likely took place off page but would have been better if they happened on page to help the story flow a little better and make some scenes more realistic. I also found several editing mistakes in which the incorrect word was used which made me have to go back and reread certain parts for better understanding. I also felt the ending was really rushed. All in all, I would rate this story 2.75/5 stars.
Forever My Bodyguard was a good read for it to have been my first in this series. I purchased it because of the book cover and I liked the description. Overall, the story was pretty good with Tessa and Polo being forced into a situation which called for them to be constantly around each other. So, of course they couldn’t resist one another!
I would have liked some more context into Tessa’s previous relationship with her BD, but maybe I missed that in books 1 and 2 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ She came across a little naive for her age and to have grown up in a weird family. Polo was sweet and definitely book bae material!
This had potential but didn’t quite hit for me. The author said she never saw them as a couple, but I guess people on social media did, and for whatever reason I can feel the disconnect. I know a Happily Ever After is part of a good romance but after being in a loveless arranged marriage for so long and never having the opportunity to date and explore, I wanted that for the FMC. Now don’t get me wrong, seeing a late 30’s woman be loved on properly by a “YN”🤣 was great but…idk I didn’t love them together. This unfortunately could have also used another glance by the editor.
Forever My Bodyguard (The Bodyguard Series Book 3)
Y'all know that I love me some Polaris "Polo" Augustine. He is the epitome of BDE. Baby boy ain't taking no shorts. Finally he gets his girl. Contessa finally gave in and let Polo be her man. She was hung up on the age gap, but true love knows no time, space, or age. Polo had to step in and save her and Ty from Smitty. Smitty was calling in on a debt he made with Jacob to have Contessa as his wife. Not!!! Polo made sure of that.
Great book. Hopefully we get a story on Diondre aka Jared and Presley.
I felt like this was rushed. I wNted to see more development in the plot. Smitty and his lowlife practices and a better storyline in the hospital. That was awkward. But I enjoyed tge experience. I loved Polo & his realism. But now I want to know about the Slave Sisters of Mafia Kingpins. That could be your next series. Or and life now of the 6 main characters in the Bodyguard Series? Either would be great.
No words to express how much i enjoyed the last book of the Bodyguard series.
Polo was the man, he knew he wanted Tessa. Tessa deserved that man! They deserved each other period! He stood on business, he wasn’t playing when it came to Tessa and her som Tyler. Don’t let the age gap fool you, Polo was made for her. Especially when he been chasing after her for 5 years. He broke her down! Lol 😝
It was good from the start to the end! Never disappointed at all.
First of all, Polo did not disappoint. Who knew this was the love story we all needed. From the very moment Polo threw them flowers in Tessa at the wedding, you had to believe this was going to be good. Please go read the book. Also, next up is Presley and D up next.
Absolutely loved, loved this book! Listen, I might give a yn a chance if they coming like Polo! Haha. But A. Blossom ate down with this one. And I especially liked that it didn’t focus so heavily on Polo as a gangsta but him as a lover boy. He wore Contessa down and won her heart!! Haha. This is one of those that you’ll want to read again.
This wasn't a long read, but it was good. I thought Polo was going to play games for a while, but he surprised me. The mafia life is too much. How are you selling off your wufe and bringing in mistress to live in yall home! Polo and Contessa love story is a good one.
My girl Tessa deserved everything she got from Polo. From book one I always knew he was going to be my favorite lol What did shock me those was Jared! I was not expecting that but I’m glad he still stayed loyal! I know I’m so behind but thankssss to Polo and Tessa I’m out of my book slump!!
