This series is fun, spicy short stories, where the MMC meets his match in the MFC. She will call him out, stand her ground, and make the devil work for her heart. But in the end, his lure is too much for her to resist. He'll draw her in, make her crave what only he can give her, and he can't wait to give her it!

Please check all CW and TW before reading this one. This was a quick read, but boy did it pack a punch in the short pages. Samael and Olivia are that couple that you want to route for. Samael is no angel but thats what makes him the absolute best for Olivia. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Samael has found his fated mate and has kidnapped her to convince her of that. He is not her God but her devil!
I really like Samael; he was dominant and protective, but you could tell he really wanted her as his mate. Olivia didn't cave in right away, but was tempted as the devil had his ways of convincing her to be his 😉. It was super steamy with descriptive scenes 🌶️, and they had the intense chemistry to go with it! It did have a bit of a storyline, and I enjoyed seeing the people from the previous book.
I liked that this gives some answers from the ending of book 1. It was a great read - can't wait for the next book!

There’s something that just tickles my funny bone about the idea of Lucifer—err, pardon me, Samael, pining for a pious mortal. The Lord of Hell, all smolder and sin, going soft over a human? Oh, the irony! Naturally, his grand romantic gesture comes with a bit of… resistance. After all, nothing says “meet cute” quite like being kidnapped from your bed and waking up in the underworld. Granted, “hell” might be a bit of an exaggeration. Olivia’s accommodations are unexpectedly opulent, even if the absence of doors and windows feels less “five-star resort” and more “gilded cage.” Still, you have to hand it to Olivia. I’d have been a sobbing puddle on the floor, but she comes out swinging, both literally and verbally. When Samael drops the bomb that she’s his fated mate and their wedding is scheduled for the morrow, her outrage is as fiery as his realm. But temptation, as they say, is the devil’s finest art. And Samael? He’s a master craftsman. Dominant, protective, and oh-so-persuasive, his silver tongue does far more than deliver wicked one-liners. Ha, ha! Mae once again makes zero apologies for her smut-over-plot approach, and honestly? Bless her. I adored seeing familiar faces from the first book, though I did miss a bit more of Abaddon and Asmodeus stirring up their usual chaos. All in all, this story was pure indulgence, and I found myself utterly charmed by Samael. Perhaps the scriptures have been wrong about him all along. Resisting Samael is the second installment in the Angelic Shorts series, and I couldn’t wait to dive in after how the last book ended with Azagoth being summoned to Samael’s office. This one actually starts a bit before that moment, giving us the backstory of why he was called in, then pushes the timeline forward beyond it.
Olivia finds herself kidnapped by Samael, who’s fully aware she’s his fated mate. She puts up a fight at first (as any sane person would when literally abducted by the devil), but Samael’s silver tongue and dark charm make it hard to resist for long.
Mae K. Knight delivers another steamy, fast-paced novella that balances smut and story, though let’s be honest, we’re talking maybe 15% plot, tops. Still, it’s addictive, spicy, and exactly what you want if you’re in the mood for a little sinful fun with your angels and demons.

Prayers Won't Save You: A Review of The Devil's Temptation "I pray the Lord my soul to take… But your soul does not belong to him, little dove. It is mine." Favorite quote and perfectly captures the tone: Samael is a possessive Devil who kidnaps his fated mate, Olivia, to make her his. I loved Samael! He is dominant and protective, and his desperation to claim Olivia is incredibly sexy. Olivia doesn't just cave; she fights the temptation, but Samael is the Devil, and he always finds a way to win. The book is packed with intense chemistry and incredibly descriptive, steamy scenes. Though the author calls it a short, spicy read with zero plot, there is a thread of a storyline and I enjoyed seeing familiar faces and getting closure on the ending of Book 1. A fantastic, hot read! Content Warning ⚠️ This book has descriptive parts that may be offensive or triggering to some. Please check all the authors' Trigger Warnings (TW) / Content Warnings (CW) before reading! 18+ ⚠️ ARC Disclaimer I received an early copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Resisting Samael is a sizzling, fast-paced paranormal romance that pulls you in from the very first page. The story centers on Olivia, who wakes up in a mysterious bedroom—four walls, no door, and no memory of how she got there. At first, she believes it’s a dream, but the chilling truth soon sets in: she’s been taken. And her captor? Samael—a devil in more ways than one.
Despite my initial hesitation, I quickly found myself captivated by the characters. Olivia’s strength and Samael’s dark allure create a magnetic tension that makes this short read utterly addictive. Mae K. Knight delivers a story that’s both seductive and emotionally engaging.
I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to fans of steamy paranormal romance. It’s the kind of story you devour in one sitting and think about long after the final page.

The author was not lying when she said there was more spice than plot. If you are someone that needs a story, this may not be the book for you. However, if you need a quick dark and steamy read, this is a good one.
Samael and Olivia are fated mates. They couldn't be more opposite though. Samael is a devil and Olivia is a church girl. Samael is dominant and protective but also soft and gentle. Olivia is stubborn and tries her hardest to stand her ground. She desperately tries to resist her wants and desires but eventually she caves. And boy does she fall hard.
I really enjoyed these two. I liked how persuasive Samael was but never forced Olivia to do anything. I mean he did kidnap her, but that's besides the point. Olivia is a strong young woman. She doesn't take his crap and she calls him out when needed.

Resisting Samael by Mae K. Knight is the second book in the interconnected Angelic Shorts series. You can easily read it as a standalone, but honestly, you’ll probably get hooked on the series 😉 and want to go back to read the first book too!
The story is told in third person. Normally, I’m not a big fan of third-person narration, but Mae K. Knight manages to craft a fast-paced, highly readable story that you can easily dive into and finish in one sitting.
Our devilish MMC, Samael, is undeniably hot, and the story brings plenty of spice. Sure, with only around 100 pages, you can’t expect an overly complex plot- but it still delivers a strong, captivating story. I loved every single page of it. Definitely a 5-star read!
This is a very short, very spicy, very taboo novella but it was really good!
This may not be to everyone’s liking because it does have some very taboo topics but if you love a very dark, very spicy, very unconventional romance, then you will want to read this one.
Samael and Olivia’s “love story” is far from normal and far from vanilla. The spice is a 5+ 🌶️. If you are looking for a lot of plot this isn’t for you don’t get me wrong, there is some plot but it’s primarily spice and I am great with that!
Reading this book makes me want to go back and read the first book in this series. This book is definitely a stand alone so don’t let the fact you haven’t read book 1 deter you. I’m glad I didn’t!

This was a fun short story. It had a decent plot and a fair bit of spice for being short. I loved it and Samael. Definitely check the trigger warnings.
Olivia was both wonderfully and infuriatingly stubborn. 😂 I’m proud of her for holding out, but I was also shouting at her to just accept it. I’m so happy for Samael, though. After all this time, he finally found her. It was cute.
5/5 stars and 2/5 spice
I did receive an advance copy, and this is my honest review.
What would you do if Samael (aka Lucifer) finds out you are his fated mate, the one he’s been waiting for centuries and now there’s no way he’s letting you go… now Olivia might give you some good advice!
As well as Tempting Azagoth this was a fun and spicy read! Olivia is feisty and Samael is super protective and obsessed with her… how could he not!
The tone was set and I kept reading and reading.
It happens in the same time frame as Temping Azagoth so you can decide which one to read first… even tho I would read them in order to avoid spoilers (even if they are minor)

Book two in the Angelic Shorts series, Resisting Samael, which runs along the same timeline as Tempting Azagoth. So you’ll need to read that first, or be lost. Olivia wakes up in a place she doesn’t know, without a door or window to try an escape. When Samael tells her she’s he’s fated mate, she doesn’t cave, he’s gonna have to work for that title! He’s dominant and possessive, and she’s resilient. This was another great read from Knight, full of steam and fate, and an HEA.

A super fun demonic and smutty read. Ever wondered if the devil would be an amazing fuck? Well here’s your answer because he fucks like a god and has two cocks??? The plot was simple, a Christian girl is the mate of Lucifer and he kidnaps her to make her his. She’s strong for sure, but even the strongest girl couldn’t resist for that long. I love this, it was so smutty and amazing. Samuel is pure morally grey demon goodness!
Fallen Angels and their chosen human mates….I enjoyed this Novella, not having read book 1 by this Author, this was my first taste of this genre and it didn’t disappoint. Short and spicy with likeable characters, wish it had been longer as I would have loved to learn more about the characters and their background, overall a very enjoyable read, I would pick up future books by this Author gladly.

Short, spicy and a quick read. Love Samael & Olivia. He’s dominant and protective while she’s feisty & doesn’t give into he’s crap. Olivia is his mate and the only thing he can think of is to kidnap her but she gives him hell along the way. Great paranormal romance.

The Fallen This bit was fun, I found myself giggling in parts. Youre sleep then wake up and you automatically know you're not in Kansas anymore. The grumpy fallen is determined after all the years, he's deserving. The joke? She isn't a weeping willow, but a thorny rose. Perfect... suitable. Will she submit? A lurking beast, a jealous ex, oh and the siblings. Welcome to Hells Court. Enjoy.
Eeeekkkk y'all seriously this story was so fricken good, and spicy and delicious. Samuel and Olivia are the perfect combination of fire and ice for each other. I loved everything about Samuel...
This captivating and concise book truly impressed me! Samael is deeply infatuated with Olivia, yet she resists his advances. Rather than surrendering, Olivia battles her desires, but Samael, being the Devil, always manages to prevail. She finds herself awakening in an unfamiliar place, completely unaware of how she arrived there. Samael has kidnapped her, revealing that she actually needs him, even if she doesn't realize it. However, Olivia challenges him to earn her affection!
Samael has kidnapped Olivia knowing shes his fated mate but she wont give in to the devil incarnate! But he plans to win her over, in any way he can. Well written quick steamy, fast paced, obsessive, desires, 2nd book in the series but works well as a stand alone.
