Tennessee Terrors #3

The Perfect Catch

Rate this book
I was the single dad baseball star living my dream life filled with family pride, thrilling games, and a community that cheered me on. But when a surprise trade to Nashville whisked me away from everything I knew and loved, I found myself struggling with my new normal and questioning my career.

Then I went and did something I haven’t done in years–I surrendered to a wild, impulsive one night stand with a gorgeous redhead, whose blue eyes mesmerized me the moment she glanced my way. After the numerous games my ex played on me, I was anti-relationships. So I took advantage of a lonely night to have some consensual fun.

But fate has a wicked sense of humor and threw me another the woman from that steamy night walked back into my life, this time as a candidate interviewing to be my daughter’s nanny. Hiring Cassie Warner might be the wrong decision, but I’m desperate to find someone, so I make it clear to her there will be no repeat performances of our hook up. Problem is that every time our eyes meet, I'm pulled back to that memorable night, which leaves me wanting more.

Seeing her love and protect my daughter as if she’s her own makes me question if I’m doing the right thing by keeping her at arms length or is Cassie Warner the perfect catch?

“You painted color back into my life when it had become black and white.”

This was a cute and fun easy read, perfect if you're looking for something lighthearted with a dash of emotional healing.

Cassie and Gunnar meet when he overhears her on a phone call to her best friend complaining about how the guy she set her up with is a total creep. Gunnar, being the southern gentleman that he is, steps in and offers her his help in ditching the guy. We quickly find out, though, that Gunnar has a not so gentlemanly side when his rescue mission turns into a one night stand. The next morning, when Garner asks Cassie for her phone number, she declines, telling him to let fate decide if they'll see each other again. It turns out that fate does want them to see each other again and brings Cassie to Gunnar's doorstep in the form of the nanny that he so desperately needs.

I loved the connection between Izzy and Cassie, and by the way that she quickly took to Cassie, it was clear that she was missing that motherly connection which is something that Cassie could relate to. I also loved how Cassie stood her ground and made sure to voice her opinion based on her experience when it came to the possibility of Izzy having a relationship with her mom. Tbh, Cassie may come across as meek, but she definitely has a backbone and is not afraid to speak her mind when it counts.

It was fun to see Gunnar fight his feelings for Cassie until ultimately he couldn't stay away anymore. And I also enjoyed that we got to see a lot more of the guys on the team, and how they would give Gunnar shıt for not following his heart and giving Cassie a chance, or when he messed things up with her.

This is the third book in this impressive series, and this is Gunner and Cassie’s story.
Gunner is a single dad, and baseball player, who is living his best life, and when he is unexpectedly traded to Nashville, he is struggling. A 1-night stand with Cassie, is not something he usually does, but fate has other plans, when she arrives on his doorstep as a candidate for his daughter’s nanny position.
This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, trauma, an age gap, humor, witty banter, touch her and die vibes, undeniable chemistry, second chances, and love, which leads to an entertaining, sweet, and fun, addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

The Perfect Catch by Jessica Marin is the third book in the Tennessee Terrors Series. If you’re new to this series, have no fear. Each book set in this baseball world  is written by a different author and can be read as a complete standalone! Trust me, I’m three books in and there is no confusion just sweet and spicy moments and loads of baseball! I think that will do it.

Now, let’s talk about the third book in this series! The Perfect Catch is sweet romance with a hint of angst. If you’re a fan of the falling for the nanny trope, this may be the perfect book for you! Cassie’s dream in life has always lived in her art. Her goal is to have her paintings in well known galleries but she’s learning her dreams are taking longer than what she had thought. So she becomes a well known nanny on the side.

And then we have Mr. Gunnar McNeer and his adorable five year old daughter Izzy. Gunnar lives his life for the game and taking care of his daughter. But when a life altering trade enters the picture, Gunnar has no choice but to pack up his daughter and leave their home in Texas to move to Tennessee. Little does Gunnar know, this trade is going to be the best decision for himself and for his daughter. Because this trade is about to lead them to their happily ever after.

My Thoughts:

I don’t know what it is about the Tennessee Terrors Series, but I have devoured each book so far! And The Perfect Catch by Jessica Marin was the perfect addition to this series. My heart thundered through Cassie and Gunnar’s whirlwind romance. If you love romances with a bit of an age gap, this is another feature that will have you loving Cassie and Gunnars story!

So let’s dive into these characters. Starting with Cassie! I loved the fact that she’s an artist and the detail that went into her artistry. I also loved the fact that she was a nanny and taught her craft to the children she took care of! My heart loved how soft hearted this woman is. I especially loved how her backstory kind of connected her to Gunnar’s daughter Izzy on an emotional level. My heart felt so full through these moments between Izzy and Cassie! I loved it!

And then we have Gunnar! I loved how devoted he was to his daughter and being the best father to her. This man, and his little girl have weathered their storm and came out stronger. But the bruises his past has inflicted on him still remain. I loved the vulnerability Gunnar’s point of view brought to this novel. My heart hurt for him and all he went through. But there was a moment in this novel that didn’t evolve as much as I had hoped it would. And that is why I dropped a star on my rating. The moment of Izzy’s mother comes into play. And Cassie, having went through something similar to what Izzy is about to go through, had a conversation with Gunnar about it. I would have liked to see this situation develop and grow more… But I feel like the Izzy and her mother situation was put on the back burner. I would have loved to see more come out of that.

Overall, I am a fan of baseball romance novels and I have to say this series is becoming one of my most favorites! I loved The Perfect Catch by Jessica Marin! I loved Cassie’s artistry, Gunnar’s devotion to being a father and a great ball player, and I loved Izzy and the adorable vibes she brought to this novel. My heart feels full and I can’t wait to see what’s up next in this series. I’ve never been one for the I’m falling for my Nanny trope but after reading this novel, I think my trope preferences are starting to change! I definitely recommend this book, and this series!

This is Book 3 of the Tennessee Terrors Series!

I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC 🥰

Jessica Marin’s The Perfect Catch delivers a heartfelt sports romance centered around unexpected second chances, emotional growth, and the complicated lines between professional and personal boundaries.
Gunner is a professional baseball player whose life takes an unplanned turn when he's traded to a new team in Nashville. Adjusting to a new city, team, and being a full-time single dad to his daughter leaves him feeling uprooted. A rare, impulsive night out leads to an unforgettable one-night stand—one he expects to leave behind with no strings attached.

Cassie is a bright, capable redhead who's rebuilding her own life. When she walks into Gunner’s house for a nanny interview and realizes he’s that guy from her recent night out, the situation becomes complicated fast. What follows is a slow burn romance built on shared affection for Gunner’s daughter, simmering tension, and attempts to maintain professionalism in an increasingly emotional and personal situation.

The book explores the complexities of trust after betrayal, balancing parental responsibilities with romantic desires, and the fear of repeating past mistakes. Gunner’s hesitancy to let anyone in after being burned by his ex is a recurring internal conflict, while Cassie’s own strength, compassion, and independence challenge his resolve to keep his distance.

While the plot leans into familiar romance tropes, it does so with sincerity, especially in its portrayal of Gunner’s relationship with his daughter and Cassie’s nurturing instincts. The story walks a fine line between emotional restraint and slow-building desire, with just enough tension to keep the stakes high without veering into melodrama.

The Perfect Catch offers a sweet, character-driven romance wrapped in themes of redemption, healing, and learning to open your heart again—even when it feels risky.

*ARC review* 4.5 stars!

I have read this author before actually have read all of her books. I was so excited to get some more from her. I got to read this beauty in ARC form and I enjoyed it very much. I haven't read a good baseball romance in a while! Let's dive in!

This is a SINGLE DAD AGE GAP NANNY ROMANCE that will have you swoon! The MMC Gunnar who happens to be the brother of another book Jessica & Aurora wrote called LOVE AT THE BLUEBIRD so you also get to see them in this book. The MFC Cassie is a sweetheart! She is a known nanny through a agency she works for and loves doing her job. She is artistic, sweet, down to earth and can hold her own. These two don't meet until a little into the book and when they do, it's a cute meet for sure! Maybe it was not the same way normally people meet but it was perfect. The MMC saved the night then they both had some fun at a hotel that involved some floor to ceiling windows. JUST SAYING. Anyways, when fate jumps in and presents a opportunity for these two to meet again, it is where the MMC says NO YOU ARE NOT HIRED. But then again fate wasn't done. In the end gunnar needed a nanny and cassie was a perfect fit. Now keeping their hands off of each other is another story. Lines get crossed not even blurred just crossed. But the real question is can it survive what is to come? Watching these two come together and over come it all, was awesome. It made me go back and re read his brother's book [for the 10th time]

I have really been missing out by not reading books by Jessica Marin. If it wasn't for the Tennessee Terrors collection I would still be missing out. To whom ever created the collection--THANK YOU. Holy Moly, I have so many books to read to catch up on. So excited!!!! I have a "new to me" author's books to devour.

Within moments of opening The Perfect Catch I was hooked. Gunnar (loving the name) had me swooning. His emotions jumped off the page with one word--traded. Within minutes his distress had my heart breaking. His dedication to his daughter had me all tingly. Gunnar checks all the boxes--baseball player, single, devoted dad, and not afraid to admit when he needs help. I became so invested in Gunnar and his future that I was not going anywhere until I finished the book.

I just kept getting better. Fast forward to a restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee. Gunnar overhears a women freaking out on the phone about a blind date. Without thinking, he steps in to save Cassie from a night of untold horrors. Key the heart palpitations. Alpha male to the rescue.

One things lead to another. One night with a stranger. They part ways in the morning leaving any future up to fate. I couldn't wait to see if fate would step in. I couldn't wait to see what fate had in mind.

I couldn't wait to see if the chemistry was still there. Get ready for the sizzle. Prepare for the heat. Hold on for a wild ride. The Perfect Catch is full of drama. Conflict riddles the pages. Sometimes best intentions just isn't enough. Gunnar has some decisions to make. I can only hope he doesn't blow it.

Jessica Marin delivers another all-star romance with The Perfect Catch, book three in her heart-stealing Tennessee Terrors series—and this one is a total home run.

When single dad Gunner is traded to the Tennessee Terrors, it's a bittersweet move. On one hand, he’s closer to his brother and sister-in-law, which is great for his daughter, Izzy. On the other? Romance is not on his radar. But fate has other plans.

Gunner and Cassie are thrown together when he steps in to help her out of a bad situation during his first night in town. What was supposed to be just one night of passion suddenly becomes something neither of them can shake. Then, fate steps in again—this time, when Cassie unexpectedly shows up to interview as Izzy’s nanny.

Even though Gunner knows it’s a disaster waiting to happen—especially with his feelings for Cassie growing by the day—he can’t ignore the instant connection between Cassie and Izzy. It’s pure magic. And no matter how hard he tries to keep things professional, the sizzling chemistry between him and Cassie is always just beneath the surface… ready to explode.

This story has it all—emotional depth, heartwarming family moments, and a slow-burn romance that builds into something unforgettable. Watching Gunner open his heart, Cassie find her place, and Izzy bloom with both of them was everything.

If any trio deserves a happily ever after, it’s these three—and Jessica Marin delivers it beautifully. The Perfect Catch is tender, sexy, and full of the kind of feels that make your heart squeeze. A must-read!

The Perfect Catch had me invested from the first chapter as I excitedly devoured the pages to see what fate had in store for these two as they made my kindle sizzle multiple times. I love single parent, age-gap stories and it doesn’t hurt that he’s a sexy baseball player. Cassie and Gunnar are vulnerable people who were let down in the past but they keep chasing their dreams and it’s admirable to watch. These two stole each other’s hearts like stealing bases at the ballpark. The way Gunnar protected Cassie from her jerk of a blind date had me swooning. Then I really fell for him as soon as he said his daughter was his priority and that he didn’t play the field. When Cassie said she’d never date an athlete, I knew I couldn’t wait for the sparks to fly.

Her best friend Grace was something else and had me laughing out loud. Gunnar had my emotions all over the place because I swooned one minute, and wanted to clobber him with his bat the next. Men get in their own way sometimes and have to dig themselves out of the mess they made being idiots (by the way - no I’m not talking about cheating). Sweet Izzy stole my heart and I wish I could be her nanny. I loved seeing some of my favorites pop in but don’t worry this is a standalone novel and they just add extra elements of goodness. This couple’s chemistry was off the charts. Everyone should read this for the date, the paintings, the pool party and the art gallery alone. Where can I apply to be Izzy’s nanny so Gunnar can make me his perfect catch too?

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

This is the story of Gunnar and Cassie. He is a older single dad, baseball player who is living his best life. He has the dream he wanted to come true and an amazing child. But he didn't know that he was going to have to move to Nashville because he has been traded. He had to leave everything he and his daughter Izzy, have ever known. Now he is a little bit of a wreck and does something really out of character for him. When he hears a girl complaining to her friend about the guy she was set up with, he takes the opportunity to save her. It ends up being the best night of both their lives. But she won't give her number to him and decides to let fate takes it course. They both know they won't see each other ever again. Until they do. He is in need of a Nanny for his daughter and Cassie shows up for the job. I have to say that I loved Izzy and Cassie. I loved how Izzy took to her so quickly and the relationship they had. However, things are about to get interesting quickly and you are going to love every second of this book. I loved the connection these two build. Always thinking of Izzy. She hasn't had a mother figure in her life in a long time and was loving every second of Cassie and her bonding. As for her and Gunnar. Holy swoon!! Multiple times. They are so perfect for each other. I am so glad they let fate do all the work.

The Perfect Catch by @authorjessicamarin
Book 3 in the collaborative series Tennessee Terrors
Available 05.06.2025
4/5⭐️
2.5/5🌶️

A one-night stand with undeniable chemistry, playful banter, and a connection so electric it leaves you wondering if fate will step in... and just when you think it’s over, fate drops the mic—not once, but twice.
What follows? A twist that takes them from strangers to boss and employee.

Book 3 in the Tennessee Terrors series follows single dad Gunner as he relocates to Nashville after being traded from his team in Texas. Looking for a fresh start, he enjoys a night out with his new teammates, where he meets Cassie. A chance encounter leads to a red-hot, steamy one-night stand. They agree to let fate decide if they’ll cross paths again-until fate throws them a curveball. When Gunner needs to hire a nanny for his daughter, guess who’s the perfect candidate? Cassie. But of course, nothing’s simple. As the two navigate their evolving feelings for each other, their pasts, present, and uncertain futures threaten to tear them apart.

I couldn’t put this one down! Fast-paced with tons of chemistry and fantastic characters, it’s a quick read packed with love& pinning, emotional depth, and a whirlwind of will-they-won’t-they FINALLY moments. I especially loved the bond between Izzy and Cassie-their shared love of art was such a beautiful touch, and it made Cassie the perfect fit for this family. A truly heartwarming, read.

This is the 3rd book in the series, and it's Gunnar who just got transferred from Texas to try to win the championship with the Terrors in his lasts years before retiring.

I don't really remember him from the previous books but we see sometimes both Evan and Diesel and their partners, as some of the other players.

Gunnar is 35 years old and is a single dad of a daughter of 5 years old so he needs to find an in house nanny because his traveling. One of the good things about being transferred is that in Nashville lives his older brother with his wife and son so they won't be alone in the new city.

Before he gets his daughter home he goes out with one of his new team mates and in the restaurant before going home he meets Cassie, a gorgeous redhead needing help to leave her date. One thing lead to another and they spend a great night together.

Some days later fate brings Cassie to Gunnar's home to interview for the nanny position and he being the neandertal he can be, he doesn't hire her because of their age gap. (men!!)

Obviously, he finally hires her and they try to be professional but their chemistry is off the charts and with Cassie being more mature than him in most occasions, they are like a happy "real" family.

I loved their story but thanks to Gunnar it's just a 4.5 instead of a 5 star review because he doesn't listen.

Finished this book in one sitting — and The Perfect Catch is definitely my favorite in the Tennessee Terror series so far!

I absolutely loved the steady, calm, “girl dad” energy that Gunnar McNeer had — and how all of that flew out the window every time Cassie was near.
It was such a cute way to show how deep his feelings ran, even though he knew he couldn’t act on them because of his concern for his daughter’s feelings.
He was holding himself back for Izzie’s sake, and that made me love him even more.

And Cassie?
She stole my heart. Her care for Izzie was so genuine and sweet — and the way her past shaped her emotions really hit me hard. I felt so much for her.

The pacing of the story was just right — a little on the fast side, but never rushed.
The plot flowed so naturally, and the way the chemistry between Gunnar and Cassie built up? It was so satisfying.
Everything from the tension to the soft moments and even the emotional weight of the conflicts — it all felt smooth and well-balanced.

I was completely pulled into the book.
I felt every pang of Cassie’s heartbreak, every bit of her longing, and all of the butterflies whenever Gunnar was around.
The emotions were so vivid — I was right there with her.

This one is such a fun, emotional, binge-worthy read.

I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

Sweet, steamy, and then a little spicy Nanny/Single Father Baseball Romance!

Overall: 4⭐
Spice:2.5 🫦
Plot: 4 📍
Laughter: 3😁

Cassie & Gunnar are just fantastic together! I adore them!

A chance meet-cute leads to massive chemistry but suddenly Cassie realizes she’s to be Gunnar’s employee…

Cute longing looks, serious tension, and holy moly! I’m still surprised the pages didn’t singe from the heat! It’s a slow burn to when they finally give into one another but it’s a de-LICIOUS trip to that point!

I desperately wanted to give this a full 5 stars however, I believe both MCs needed to provide the other a “Grand Gesture” for perceived wrongs/hurts but only one was deemed more egregious than the other. I don’t want to say more than that - it’s entirely possible that’s purely a ‘me’ thing.

On a more serious note, the author’s dedication and foreword is clearly and articulately shared throughout the story - addiction is awful. If you or someone in your life has struggled with addiction, there is a lot of nuance in the struggle to get out from under Addiction’s chokehold. Cassie and Gunnar’s views are both valid, and it’s wonderful to see both of them have a meaningful, more than satisfying conclusion.

Thank you to Jessica Marin & Wordsmith Publicity for the opportunity to read and review this book!
All opinions are my own.

Gunner is a professional baseball player and a single dad who has just been unexpectedly traded to the Tennessee Terrors. He's shocked but excited, as his brother and family live there, so he won't be alone. One night, when he hears a woman in distress on the phone, he decides to step in and help her. Cassie is an adorable artist/nanny. I love that she is shy and doesn't take any nonsense. When her best friend sets her up on a blind date that goes horribly wrong, a handsome stranger will come to her rescue. These two have chemistry right from the start. Their one-night stand will leave you breathless while reading. Now fate has dealt them a new hand as Cassie becomes the new nanny. However, nothing is easy for these two, and their feelings about the past, present, and future may just tear them apart. Cassie has a unique way of seeing things that enriches the story of their relationship and his daughter. However, sometimes our past can make our future disappear. Will Gunner step up to the plate not only for his family but for his team as well?

Gunnar has spent his career playing in Texas…. And to be traded this late in his career has him concerned about where he goes from here. But at least he is traded to Nashville where his brother is a professional singer and his 5 year old Izzy will have family. Since he is moving away from his parents, he will need to hire a nanny. Cassie is born and raised in Nashville, she allows her best friend to set her up on a blind date and when she goes to the bathroom to tell her friend how horrible it is, she runs I to a handsome man who helps her out of the restaurant and into a hotel room for her first one night stand that is out of character. She talks him into leaving it up to faith if they see each other again after sharing false names… last thing either thought would be her walking is as the perfect nanny for him to hire. After initially not giving Cassie the job because of his attraction, he is in a bind and hires her. Will he be able to keep this professional for his daughters sake?

I have always enjoyed Jessica Marin's writing style and this book is no exception. Although this book is #3 in the Tennessee Terrors series, it can be read as a stand alone. Gunner is a single dad in the later years of his career as a baseball player who is traded to Tennessee from Texas. His move to the new state and team is made easier because his brother is there to help ease the transition. Cassie is an up and coming artist who takes Nanny positions to help make ends meet. Gunner and Cassie's story is a sweet romance that pulls together two people who are leery of relationships due to past trauma. This is a story of forgiveness, hope and trust. Marin brings in a host of likeable characters that round out a wonderful story. It is a quick read with a steady flow to the story. There is references to addiction issues so anyone who is triggered by this needs to be prepared. This is for anyone who loves great writing, contemporary romance, chick lit, athlete romance or contemporary fiction.

This was such a fun story to follow. The characters were very well-written.

Gunnar is disappointed to be traded to another baseball team. He is a single dad to his young daughter, Izzy. While out in his new town he meets Cassie. She is on a terrible blind date and gives him another name. He rescues her from the date and then they go off together for a night. Their attraction was immediate. It is a lot of fun because she has no idea he is a sports star.

Cassie is a nanny who gets sent to Gunnar's to work for him to help with Izzy. He needs someone to help out when he is traveling with his team. Gunnar is still attracted to Cassie but must put aside his feelings for Izzy's well-being. He loves how these girls get along together. They have a shared love for art which brings them closer together.

This was a very emotional and swoon-worthy story that you will love. It is great if you love sports romances and nannies.

Thank you to the author for my advanced copy for my honest review.

The Perfect Catch is one of fate, second chances and finding love when you least expect it. Gunnar and Cassie are both not looking for a relationship and also don't normally do the one-night stand thing, however when Gunnar comes to her rescue, the intense chemistry and connection between them erupts into something they can't ignore. However, when Gunnar's new Nanny turns out to be the one woman he can't get off his mind, things are about to get complicated and awkward all in one go. There is a lot of confusion between these pair as their hearts and minds battle against each other, not to mention past baggage that gets in their way. Gunnar frustrated me at times to no end that I just wanted to scream but when his team give him some hard truths along with his brother, he might finally make the perfect catch. A story that is overflowing with emotions, love and a let's not forget that perfect ending will ensure that this book is a complete winner.

Another great book in the Tennessee Terrors series. This time it's the single dad shortstop Gunner's turn. His life is turned upside with a trade to the Terrors. He is also in desperate need of a nanny for his precious five year old daughter. Shocks all around when he finds out who is interviewing and best candidate for the job. Cassie is the perfect fit. She bonds instantly with her little charge. A cast of great characters. Loved both Cassie's dad and friend & Gunner's family. They mesh and blend so well. A lot of heart and feels in this one along with plenty of heat. This book just shows why I love this multi author series. The banter and playfulness of the teammates, but also they have one another's backs. They definitely have a family atmosphere about them which I so enjoy. This book was right up my alley being a sports romance, btu also a single dad/nanny romance as well. I gobbled this book right up!

Tennessee Terrorr's story, this is Gunnar McNeer's story. Gunnar is devasted that the team he played with his whole career has traded him. The only good thing - he has been traded to the Tennessee Terrors in Nashville where his brother and his family are. Gunnar is a single Dad to his five year old daughter, Izzy. His while life has been uprooted. Cassie Warner is trying to establish her painting career but she is also a nanny. Her current family, professional hockey player, has been traded so she will be losing her job at the end of the season. She is at a crossroads for her future. A bad blind date, a unexpected hero moment and a unforgettable one night stand later......it all.comes down to Fate. I loved this fast paced, high chemistry, wonderful charactes story. There is lots to love, feel and enjoy in this story. Enjoy!

This was such a fun novel! I have read the other novels in this series and really enjoyed them. This novel did not disappoint. I love a sports theme novel and throw in a single dad and a nanny and you can count me in. I really enjoyed this novel. I loved the way they met and how fate played a part in getting together. From the first chapter this novel pulled me in and captured my attention until the very last chapter. I loved Gunner and Cassie. I loved their chemistry. Both had been thru alot. I loved the slow burn of this novel. I loved watching them lower their walls and defenses and fall in love. I loved Cassie and how dedicated she was with his daughter. Once I started reading I didn't want to put this novel down. I had such a fun time reading this novel. I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. So good and so much fun!

I have read all three books so far in this series. Although, it is not necessary to read them in order as each book is a standalone in this shared world. I will say that this book is my favorite so far in this series. Check out this book for yourself. It is a fun read.

I am a sucker for cute children in books. Izzy is no exception. Gunnar is a great father to her. The way he cares for her, and you can see the love he has for her in his eyes. Cassie is a nice addition to this father/daughter duo. She is so sweet with Izzy. You can tell that Izzy really likes her. Izzy is not the only one who likes Cassie.

I like the romantic build up between Cassie and Gunnar. They share some steamy moments together. Yet, it is not all about the romance. There is a genuine connection shared with these two.

In The Perfect catch, Book 3 of the Tennessee Terrors series, Gunner is shocked to find out he’s being traded a week before the season starts due to budget constraints. But, without this, his chances of winning a championship before he retires are basically slim to none. A one night stands leads to him discovering said stand, Cassie, is interviewing to be his daughter’s nanny! The struggle to keep things professional gets heated up the more they’re together. I am loving this series so much. Seeing how the individual lives of the team members is a joy to read and refreshing as a contemporary series. I’m really happy to have this opportunity because I’m also getting to read an author I haven’t heard about before so a series like this is like having a catalog of who’s who in romance. Cant wait for the next book!

Gunnar is a professional baseball player who has recently been traded to the Tennessee Terrors. One of the first things he must do is establish childcare for his daughter Izzy, but he never expected that the woman who was applying for the job is the woman he spent an unforgettable evening with and never expected to see again.

Cassie believed that she and Gunnar were only destined for one night, but kismet had other ideas. When she arrived for her interview the situation had complicated written all over it, but some things are meant to be when it comes to not only Gunnar but his daughter as well.

Due to their pasts both Gunnar and Cassie are cautious which causes some turmoil, but they fit together like pieces of a puzzle, and she is exactly who Gunnar and Izzy need in their lives.

This was the 3rd book I’ve read in the multi-author Tennessee Terrors series and each one has been unique, fun, engaging and just fabulous reads. The side benefit is I’ve discovered new to me authors I want to read more.

Gunnar and Cassie have a memorable meeting that turns into a scorching hot one night stand. Neither of them are really in a place for a relationship so I instead of giving Gunnar her phone number the next morning Cassie tells him they need to leave it up to fate.

The story is full of flirty banter, emotion and humor. I adored Gunnar’s sweet little Izzy and how amazing Cassie was with her. The secondary characters are all fabulous and I plan to read Gavin & Aly and Valerie & Rowan’s stories as both couples were fun and interesting.

I definitely encourage readers to dive in and enjoy this book!

I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

I am enjoying this series so much!!
It's baseball season so it's a great time to read them.
This couple had a funny- UHOH!start.
His one nightstand turns out to be his new nanny.
They were going to be professional and pretend it forget it happened. ( Any romance reader knows how well that works LOL)
It was so fun to watch it playout!
I wasn't sure our hero was ever going to get his head out of his behind. I wanted to shake him and scream get over it and get your girl.
In the end I was so happy and had tears in my eyes during his grand gesture.
Each booking the series is by a different author so lots of new authors for me to discover.
This one in particular had side couples (that I want to know more about) who have their own books LOVE THAT!
What a great Easter Egg for her existing fans.

This was such a sweet and fun read. Gunnar and Cassie captured my heart from their first encounter. Let’s not forget about Izzy, she is just the sweetest little girl. I love how quickly Cassie fell in love with Izzy and treated her as if she were her own child. That really resonated with me because I was a nanny for two kids who are now practically adults. I fell in love with them right away and loved them as if they were my own children. I love be able to relate to characters when reading a story and Jessica Marin does a great job with her characters. If you like single dad/nanny, sports romance, age gap, turned second chance romances, then you should give this shot. You will not want to put it down.

I love the whole dang starting setup for the story in this book. How they met and the circumstances, what came after (IYKYK), when fate introduced them again- all of it was so good! I enjoyed Gunnar and Cassie’s story a lot ❤️ it was a fun one! But then again who doesn’t love a baseball romance with an age gap and a nanny with the single dad? You get the spice, the found family, the younger nanny who loves his daughter, the grumpy single dad and of course-forced proximity. ❤️☺️👏🏻 it made for a story you didn’t want to end! Luckily, there are still 7 books in this series that I am sure we will be seeing more of them in tidbits here and there.
I love how the series is all coming together with all the characters and their stories. So fun!
