The Christmas Cruise

Rate this book
Best-Selling Author, Taylor Young, enjoys a quiet life with her dog and the fictional characters living in her head. Everything is fine until the day Taylor feels unexpected twinges of envy from the made-up, happily in love couples, in her novels. She plunges herself into her favorite thing, Christmas, hoping to distract herself.

Matt Miller, a notable app designer, lives alone but loves being the fun and doting uncle who always has the best house at Christmas. He adores spending time with his family, even with the constant pressure they place on him to find ‘the one.' He’s started to wonder if something’s wrong with him—will he ever find love?

When "The Christmas Cruise" is announced, promising the ultimate holiday experience for true Christmas fans, Taylor impulsively signs up, determined to challenge her reclusive nature.

Meanwhile, Matt has become very stressed from work and upon seeing the cruise, books it, with a goal to relax. His family is secretly hoping he’ll find someone special.

If Taylor can overcome her social anxiety and Matt can unwind, things could fall into place. There are many Christmas activities offering opportunities to spend time together. Could it be the perfect setting for love?

I’m not generally a romance girlie, but this book gave me all the feels of a fun, romantic Hallmark movie (and I love those!). It’s a novella so I purchased it for my two hour plane ride and was able to finish it before the plane landed. It was just so easy to read…it played out in my head like a movie. I could see all of it happening as if I was watching it on the TV. The writing had the perfect flow and the detail in the descriptions so clear.

The main characters are very likeable. She’s an introvert and he’s sort of a “geek” and they find common ground on a Christmas Cruise. And I’m talking a full-blown, be a kid again, really get into the spirit, Christmas Cruise. Seriously, C.A. Belle should be creating actual Christmas cruises because so much thought and detail went into this, I want to go on one. Now. And in July, maybe October, definitely for Christmas!

This was just fun, fun, fun…from the very beginning until the last page (which had me giggling and happy that there’s two more books to follow!). If there was a Hallmark movie based on this book, I’m tuned in! (And I’ll bring the hot chocolate!)

This is an amazing Hallmark like book where there is the perfect amount of storyline, angst and romance. The author also put in some magical Disney moments which made it even more fun. This is the perfect book for anyone who enjoys Disney and romance all year round.
