An errand leads Tala to the mate fate has chosen for him. Frenchie is nothing like Tala expects or thinks he wants. Can love and the universe make Tala see sense before he ruins any chance of a happy ever after?
Tala has the life he wants. His brother leads the pack and deals with all the pesky details of their joint auto shop, leaving him to tinker with the cars. Life is just the way he likes it.
In the blink of an eye, his entire world turns upside down when he’s forced to enter the twilight zone of weird and wacky shifters. If that wasn’t bad enough, the inconceivable mate leads him down a dirt road to unexpected happiness.
Only the road has bumps.
Two, to be precise, and the big wolf is going to learn just how hard it is to keep his seat with a hormonal mate.

Where does one start with about what I do? I’m a writer, but I’m sure you guessed that by now if you’re reading this, hey? What you might not know is I’m a little quirky, live in my pj’s most of the time and have cake Saturdays with my sisters every week. I dedicate a little of my time to taking care of my grandbabies and on the dedicated writing days I like to write an eclectic mix of romance, suspense and paranormal fantasy. In the main I’ve written gay romance but I’m branching out under another the pen name in the future, so watch this space. I’ve a passion for books like you would not believe and it led me down this path and now I’ve over 29 books released and heading towards releasing a whole lot more. The way my head is I never know where I’ll be headed next. I hope you’ll find a little joy in my words and follow me to see where the journey takes me and you. If you’re interested at some point in 2021 I’ll be writing under the name JP Paton which will be F/M crime and Fantasy two of my favourite things. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled

So a werewolf meets a potato shifter, they have tactile potatoey sex and live happily ever after. My husband dared me to read this and I said only if he did too. We didn’t get past chapter 3 because, well, it’s about a man potato and a werewolf as fated mates so…. In summary, I can’t say it’s the worst thing I’ve ever read, it’s solidly not terrible.
if i was living in that village and the local alpha was bonded to a potato shifter i would simply do the funniest thing one could do in that situation: buy a sack of potatoes and pull them out one by one going "is this your boyfriend? no? how about this one?"
put your hand up if you have ever wanted to fuck a potato. - ... your silence is deafening.
if you think you don't have to read a m/m mpreg romance between a wolf and a potato shifter - you are probably right. but also weak. live a little. have some fun. imagine a wolf fucking french fries (after eating them).
beware though, it might make you hungry. the vore scene also really made me want fries so i had to drive to a McDonald's because i am a slave to my own desires.
i might be high on pain killers but i had a great time reading this. i wish i was a potato and could roll around on my soulmate. it sounds very fun and calming.
also yes, i am indeed giving this four stars. a POTATO GUYS!!! arguably the best vegetable.
this review makes no sense but that's okay because the book didn't either.
The hero Frenchie is a potato shifter. Not a shifter OF potatoes of the chip/french fries fryer ilk, but A. POTATO. SHIFTER. A bona-fide potato hero. Do wolves eat potatoes? Cos I fear for Frenchie's life, seeing as the other hero is a wolf. Now, everything I know about shifters can fit on a pinhead so this could possibly be a commonly known trope. What do I know? I suppose I could check this book's reviews to find out for sure, but what if I'm tempted to read the book? I'm just not emotionally ready for a potato hero. Plus, what if I like it?
I'm not sure I can rate this but my hat's off to the author for making a potato shifter at once serious and funny in the absurdity, and for capturing my attention enough to make me read all the way to the end, and finish with a smile, despite some odd moments engendered by a mate who is also a food item. Unique, for sure.
This was a great bizarre shifters I’ve read so far. Despite being short, the detailed storyline and descriptions really help with my slump. I liked it. I have to thank Hoodie for bringing this potato shifter to my attention 😂 hit me up with more :P
Potato shifter sounds peculiar, however the concept behind the shifting and all were told quite well. The uniqueness of Frenchie being a potato shifter was awesome. As far as I know from reading books like this, almost all of their concept were indescribable which left only to my imagination to do the thinking hahah. Not in this one, Frenchie was unique :) And omg the creativity for those cute and hot scenes, I salute!
I do have a problem with the middle part though. After 50%. I feel the first half was better than the second or Idk, maybe I was just moody. The constant horniness was great at first, and then it becomes an ick, because I wanted their romantic relationship development so bad, since Tala was a grumpy and confused mf. But yeah, not so much of that. The storyline felt stuck between them with no switch of personalties or storyline that shows proof of their love for each other 😬 their story was just told as “mates” and nothing else. And I’m not so sure about MC that’s made to be weak and always become assault victim in a story. Pity :’)
Overall, for a weird book, this is one of the good ones. And I DO need more weird shifters story like this. Can’t wait for the other in this series. I hope it’ll get better 💙
Potato shifter/ wolf shifter fated mates. There is sex in potato form. The marking is quite something else. There's dirt. There's a super grumpy wolf shifter and a super sensitive but happy potato shifter.
Idk. In the words of Kristina , "solidly not terrible"
It couldn’t have been intended to be any other way. I laughed my ass off through the first 30%. A friend said they were reading it out of sheer curiosity and I couldn’t help myself.
I feel like it tries to be serious through most of the book but I’m not sure if the author intended for the readers to take it seriously. It’s…. Insane. I needed that levity and break from the heavy books. Like… what would you expect from a book about a potato shifter? The author reached as far as they could and it was just… funny as hell. Three stars for creativity and making me laugh.
I thought this book was going to be more fun than it was...
Did I hate it? No. Would I say I enjoyed it? No.
A potato shifter meets a wolf shifter, and they bang.
Seriously, that is all I have for you. I have had this on my shelf for ages and I really wanted to see how things happened with a potato shifter and if there would indeed be potato frolicking. And there was.
Was this ridiculous? Yes. Did I love it? Also yes. This a/b/o shifter story with mpreg managed to do something new with the usual elements you find in these stories. So many parts of this were completely out there but it was still sweet and funny and different. I’ll never look at potatoes the same way but I’m totally okay with that.
This was... cute? Weird? Sweet? Really weird? Unique? I have no idea how to describe it. A potato shifter?? Really? Yep! But I kinda liked it. I'll definitely pick up the next one just to see what's next.
Look, I don't even know what to rate this - but here I am, hours later and still thinking about this book, so I'm going with 3 stars? For writing a truly unique story and completely entertaining me.
This might be the wildest mpreg shifter story I have ever read (and I've read some crazy ones!) between a wolf shifter....and a fingerling potato shifter. I kid you not.
OK, so Frenchie (yes his name is Frenchie like french fries. His brother's name is Russ, like russet potato!) is a pretty adorable shifter. And he's shocked and sad when at first meeting, his destined mate, Tala, rejects him. But he gets to go home with Tala and together they have to work out how to be together. Y'know, as a wolf and a potato.
The mating ritual on Frenchie's side of things is kinda crazy and oddly kinky, and then the story takes a wild hard left in a path I did NOT think would happen LOL - I can't even say what without giving away spoilers -
There is a bit of a plot/conflict, but it kinda falls apart in the middle bit while Tala and Frenchie are busy becoming mates. Then it's brought back up at the end of the story and it just kinda felt like an afterthought - with someone out to take Frenchie out of the picture. Honestly, I think if this had been a bit more structured and pivotal to the story, I think it would have made this a 4 star read for me.
I kinda want Russ's story with Tala's brother now!
I saw the title and cracked up. And then I read the synopsis - a werewolf and a potato shifter mate - and couldn't stop laughing. And then I read a review that mentions the potato shifter rolling around in potato form on the chest of the werewolf and I knew that I had to read it because what on earth.
But honestly, listen, I read this knowing that it wasn't going to be my thing. I'm not a fan of mpreg or omegaverse (sorry, but not really). Poor writing, temporal issues, and an extraordinarily disturbing scene regarding food did not help.
I'm not going to warn anyone off this book. Despite the book needing more editing (and possibly Jesus, idk, I'm an atheist), this is quite clearly an "it's not you, it's me" type of situation. Just be aware that this book takes a sharp left turn out of the omegaverse, speeds through surrealism, and careens off a cliff into the canyon of "what the f-" multiple times.
3.5/5 stars. I read this because I wanted something silly and fun, and it delivered. The author fully embraced the ridiculousness of a potato shifter and came up with some creative uses for the concept. Recommended if you want an easy read with a unique concept.
Lmao, this one has me nearly speechless. It managed to fit all of my not-favorite tropes, too, mainly the omegaverse side of werewolf hierarchy stuff, fated mates, and...an Mpreg potato. Who gets morning sickness. If I loved the included tropes more, this would've been pretty cute.
ALL HE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS IS A FINGERLING is a unique (as far as I know) #Paranormal #MPreg book that is the first in a series and offers you a delightful mix of sweet and sassy.
Frenchie is a potato shifter. Yep, you heard me. A POTATO SHIFTER. He shifts into a potato and all is well with the world. Came as quite a shock to our grumpy wolf, Tala, too. Misunderstandings abound before fate kicks in.
This is the first book in the series, and I'm really looking forward to returning. I'm hoping to get some resolution about just why Frenchie was attacked in the first place. It's hinted at but I want more. I'm so greedy! I know the next book won't focus (probably) on Tala and Frenchie but I'm hoping that it will come out as the story progresses.
This was a fun-filled, frolic of a book that I thoroughly enjoyed and read in one sitting. Absolutely recommended by me.

Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Nov 17, 2021
The fact that it took me 6 days to read 180 pages says enough about how much I liked this book.
While the idea of a potato shifter is certainly unique, it wasn't enough to carry the book. The plot is rather unfocused, leading me to be rather unfocused on the story. Tala has about as much personality as a potato, which is ironic considering he isn't the potato in this scenario, but rather just a grumpy wolf.
I think if this had been 2/3 the length, it could have been great, but everything just felt like it was constantly being sidetracked by things that paid little importance to the actual plot, or acted as set ups for later books in this series.
The amount of happiness this book brought me cannot be put into words. Idgaf that it barely made sense - I liked it better for that. I love these characters and I will defend them and their potato wolf children at all costs. I went into this book with high expectations and I read a lot of it while high and it was just a spiritual experience. I would love to be the potato shifter omega to a hot and nice werewolf alpha.
This book was actually so sweet and didn’t take itself too seriously so just an all-around grat tim was had.
Having buddy read this with my 2 book besties, they got the rundown on how I felt the entire journey and boy was it a great one! I thought going in this would be a silly book, because I mean it's about a potato, but it ended up being a really good read! It was full of potato puns and hilariousness but also had depth and great world building (potatoville!). Once we got past the fact one of the MC was a potato and the other a wolf, we got to see a great love sprout (see what I did there!) And I couldn't put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am definitely going to read book 2!
