K terry girrrrrl what did you write??!

How can 1 book break your heart, turn you on, make you cry and have you fall in love? 🤨😮‍💨😭🤭🥵😫😍 I’m talking all the emotions!! All of em

Silas has sworn off any chance at love and dating is not on his to do list. His scars and trauma run deep and he needs control in every aspect of his life

My girl Dru? She’s so gentle and kind…when she’s not going off on Silas because he’s being a rude grump.

The insta-lust was real yall! Over there being bent over desks, getting choked, gobbled and swallowed…all in their heads of course because the two can’t stop arguing 🥴

Then there’s the book reading scene 👀🫣 that is definitely going in my top book scenes because gaaaahdam. I needed to take a nap after that one

There’s tension, angst, heartbreak and a whole lot of dirty talk. This book is on the longer side so plan your schedule accordingly and make sure to check your triggers because there are some dark themes

3.5/5 rounded up

This is a good but heavy-themed book, do take care to read the content warnings.

I felt for Silas so much from the start - he has been through a lot and while he looks on the outside like he has it all under control, on the inside and in private he struggles with the effects of the very real trauma/SA he has lived through.

I looove a confusing/standoffish “broken man” character and Silas is definitely one of those. He’s really restricted, he’s had a traumatic past, and he is emotionally stunted while also emotionally volatile - there’s no denying that, but there’s a goodness in him somewhere too.

Dru is a great FMC, strong and understanding and loving, not without her own struggles too. The push and pull between her and Silas, her fire and her trying to keep boundaries, all of it is great.

There’s an almost over-the-top attraction to each other when they meet. Sometimes a very strong instant attraction at that level is a bit difficult for me to get my head around as I haven’t been THAT attracted to anyone but that’s me 🤣 (that’s me laughing at my own pitiful level of attraction to people). Lots of lusting after each other and sexual thoughts, it’s almost all they can think about around each other. At some points it is maybe a bit too much for me but it does build the sexual tension!

You do get a sense that they are uncovering understanding of each other and appreciating each other (or are curious about each other) outside of the lust aspects but a lot of their initial connection is around a pretty insatiable attraction for each other.

Eventually I got to the more gentle, feelings part and that really drew me in. The relationship and especially Silas’ struggle to let Dru in and Dru trying hard to be there for him but he doesn’t make it easy - that’s so fascinating in a romance for me and kept me hooked! I could have used maybe a few less sex scenes for a few more of these relationship dynamics scenes.

This book is long. The plus side of that is you get lots of internal thought, you really get to know Silas and Dru well that way, especially with Silas and what he’s thinking. There’s also a rich breadth of people in the story with their own lives too, friends, history, which you get to hear about. Lends to a longer book but you really get a whole world feeling that you can fully sink into.

There’s some minor errors with typos, spacing, or some minor things not matching up like times stated, some slightly repetitive sentences - but it wasn’t anything that completely disrupted the flow of the story for me. It does end on a cliffhanger and into book 2 (which I purchased and started reading immediately as I needed to know what happens.)

With a bit more editing to tighten things up, it could even be one book then really than two, and this could easily be a 4 star for me!

It’s a good book and worth the read. Can’t wait to see how it all comes together and hopefully see their happily ever after in book 2!

Thanks to the author for a free copy of the book and I’ve left an honest influence-free review here.

Okay book lovers, let me start by saying… this is the longest book I’ve ever read — and guess what? I’d read it all over again in a heartbeat. 💖 This story had me on an emotional rollercoaster I never wanted to get off! 🎢

Let’s talk spice 🌶️: those scenes were next level. Just... wow. 🔥
But beyond that, the writing? So fluid, engaging, and just effortlessly immersive. K. Terry knows how to pull you in and never let you go!

Now… Silas. Oh. My. Heart. 🥺💔❤️ He broke it into a million pieces and then put it all back together with love, lust, and everything in between. You can feel how much thought went into building his character — he’s deep, raw, and unforgettable.

And Dru? Ughhh I LOVE HER. Strong, fierce, soft when needed — a true QUEEN 👑. She’s the rock Silas didn’t know he needed, and their dynamic is just chef’s kiss. No spoilers, but trust me, she’s a badass in all the best ways. 💪💕

If you’re into romance with depth, tension, emotion, and just the right amount of spice, this book is a MUST. I highly recommend it — thank you K. Terry for this unforgettable journey.

And now... I’m counting down the days until I get to meet Sophia and Jace! 😍📖

Please check your triggers before diving in — this book tackles some heavy topics!

THIS. BOOK. RIGHT. HERE. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

K. Terry absolutely nailed it with Silas and Dru’s story. From page one, I was hooked and completely lost in their world. The side characters were Perfection. Jace had me laughing out loud, Sophia is the kind of friend everyone needs, and Carla… oh, Carla! I just want to jump into the pages and hang out with her.

The tension between Silas and Dru was Off. The. Charts. 🔥 That book scene 🤌🏽💋 every reader’s fantasy come to life!

And the spice? HOLY SHEET. I was not ready! The detail, the intensity! K. Terry delivers. Now I understand exactly why she includes smexy goodies in her PR boxes 😝

Then that cliffhanger hit… and yep, I literally leapt off the couch to grab book two!
