This non-fiction memoir offers a heartfelt glimpse into the author’s life, beginning with her upbringing as the firstborn child and the unique pressures that come with that role. She reflects on her encounters with bullies at school and the lifelong weight of responsibility she’s carried as the eldest. At first glance, her beauty might suggest a life of ease and charm, but beneath the surface lies emotional baggage that keeps her in a constant state of self-discovery and growth. Writing a memoir is no small feat—writing itself demands vulnerability, but telling one’s own story without the shield of fictional characters takes immense courage. I admire how the author not only shares her pain but also channels it into building a supportive community for others navigating similar mental health struggles. Her deep faith in God and desire to live in alignment with His will is evident throughout. This was a moving and meaningful read, with mental health at its core—a theme that clearly resonates deeply with the author.

This book shares the author’s life story, focusing on her experience growing up as the firstborn and the pressure that came with it. Even though she seemed to have it all together on the outside, she opens up about being bullied and the emotional struggles she’s faced for years.

What I really liked is how real and brave she is, she tells her story honestly, without hiding behind made-up characters. By sharing her pain, she also helps others who are going through their own mental health battles feel less alone.

Her strong faith in God is clear throughout the book, and you can see how much it guides her life and choices. It’s a moving and heartfelt read that stays with you, especially if you’ve ever felt the weight of responsibility or struggled with mental health.
