Alpha King's Pregnant Runaway Mate

Rate this book
The alpha king rejected me, and chose another luna.
Then I found out I was pregnant with his baby.

When Alpha Case rejected me, I couldn't take the pain, so I ran far away.
Since then, I’ve lived as a rogue. I’ve killed, and I’ve stared death in the face.

But fate had the last word.

Because now I'm pregnant.
And I'm raising our pup alone, far from the mate who tossed me away.

Now, I’m no longer the weak omega he discarded—I’m a queen in my own right, leading a pack that bows to no one.

Now, he’s back, demanding a second chance.
He says he’ll grovel, he’ll fight, he’ll burn the world down to have me again.

But this time… I’m the one who gets to decide.

Umm!🤔 This alpha king was weak. (Spoilers ahead)
This book opens and the H and h are already “married”

h has been trying for 18 months to get pregnant. She can’t. Their sex life has been strained due to this. Nobody in the pack likes her anymore because she’s not pregnant. 🤪

The OW tells H that a seer will tell him what the pregnancy issue is. Ofc the seer tells H that h is barren.
(I say OW not because she’s with H. She’s just some evil woman in the pact who wants everything h has. H is not in a relationship with her) For some reason, OW seems to have all the power.

So H listens to the counsel, OW, seer, pack, and his parents and decides to reject h. He does go to sleep with her one more time though. (Great guy 🤦‍♀️)
H rejects her in front of everybody. It’s awful. H wants her to stay even though he has to mate with another Luna (OW). 😂😂😂😂 ugh I hate this man. Naturally, she leaves. She goes to the rogues. She’s there a couple of weeks and finds out she’s pregnant. Then she goes to her parents and their alpha and agrees to marry him. He’s crazy. H finds out h is going to marry him and shows up. It’s so bizarre. H sees that h is pregnant and knows it’s his baby. All of a sudden, he wants her back.

There’s a whole complicated mess of H groveling, OW trying to kill h, and other people interfering trying to break them up.
OW still has all the power.

H decides to chunk the crown and he’ll leave with h. I’m so annoyed at this point. If he’s alpha king, why not just get rid of all the people trying to replace you?

OW ends up dead. Nobody knows what happened.

Epilogue- h is marrying H again but she goes into labor. She has a boy. All is right in the kingdom now. H is still the ruler.

Then a 3 week time jump. h goes sneaking into the woods and pays this rogue. You find out she had OW killed.

This book was just not my vibe. This “alpha” never would have been within 30 feet of me again. It’s hard to root for an alpha when they have no backbone

Meh

*spoilers included in rant*
It held my interest, but after everything the heroine dealt with? Being publicly rejected and humiliated? I mean, nearly the entire pack was vicious and hateful to her, even her in-laws! She was made to be an outcast entirely. And why? Because she couldn’t get pregnant, she deserved to quite literally be SPIT upon and boo’d off pack lands? Her treatment would have made more sense if the pack believed she had betrayed them or something, but their behavior was disgusting. I thought “okay, cool…that was rough, but she’ll make them ALL grovel surely!” Nope. When she saw the hero again and he saw she was pregnant, suddenly he had an epiphany and wanted her back? Sure sure, she said “maybe I’ll stay”, but she didn’t even give him he**!!! She was “cold and distant at times” but still slept with him and acted like a couple for the most part. They had zero serious conversations about what he did. How he expected her to stick around after his rejection as his mistress and to basically just deal with him getting another Luna. How he allowed his pack and council to treat her. And he whined about how she wasn’t sure if she wanted to stay after the baby was born constantly. No accountability whatsoever. No conversation about his (or his parents’ or his packs’) despicable behavior and treatment of her.
And when she saw her in-laws again, she freaking WELCOMES them?!? She “smiles shyly” and lets her mean as he** MIL touch her pregnant stomach?! She excitedly accepts that horrible woman’s invitations for social events after the way she was treated by her?! She freaking ostracized her and was cruel! And the kicker? THEY NEVER EVEN APOLOGIZED FOR THEIR PART IN THE DESTRUCTION OF THEIR MATING!! It was “yay! You’re finally pregnant now and worthy of our love and affection!!” *bangs head against wall*
SUDDENLY, she’s a “cherished Luna” now that she’s back and pregnant with the heir! Everyone’s sooooo in love with her and thinks she’s just the bestest ever.
And.dont.get.me.started.on.the.council.
It was hinted at several times that the council was too powerful and was abusing said power. They make him reject his mate. They dang near forced him to mate Mira (the villainess) until the KING begged for one more week to find a Luna on his own. They refused HIS testimony that Mira was a deadly problem and told the king to basically deal with the crazy psycho. They were ugly and dismissive and do we see anything come of their despicable behavior and abuse of power? Nope. So that little plot device was completely unresolved. I was 100% expecting for laws to be passed or something that would bring accountability and balance to the council/kingdom, but nothing happens.
Then…BAM. Mira is unalived out of freaking nowhere and everyone lives happily ever after. Council is still in power. No one has apologized or groveled for SPITTING on her etc.
I’m not buying it. Not in the least. I don’t write reviews often, but I want everyone else to feel my rage since I can’t take it out on my Kindle. GRRRRR

I found this story to be a bit lacking especially with how it’s all wrapped up.

In general, I’m a sucker for a rejected mate story because I like the comeuppance that usually follows. However, with this story I didn’t feel like we got there.

The Alpha is being pressured by his council to produce an heir. Unfortunately him and his mate have been trying for two years with no success. Long story short, the council orders the Alpha King (this King doesn’t seem to wield much power if the council can force his hand so easily) to reject his mate and find a new Luna to produce an heir. The Alpha loves his mate but the stress of the council and a trick from a jealous bitch—cough cough, Mira—leads him to rejecting his mate. She’s gone for two months when she finds out she’s pregnant. Oopsie daisy, the Alpha jumped the gun on that rejection. She doesn’t want to go back to the pack but eventually the Alpha finds out and brings her back.

This is where things get dicey for me. The pack had completely turned against the FMC because she couldn’t conceive, including the Alphas parents. The Alpha’s mother completely shunned Anisa and started spending time with Mira who she hoped her son would choose to replace Anisa as Luna. When they arrive back at the pack everyone is so happy that she’s pregnant, so we are just ignoring how cruel they were just a few months ago. I didn’t understand that. Especially with the parents.

Then Mira starts sabotaging Anisa right and left and no one but the Alpha and Anisa takes it seriously. Again, the Alpha didn’t wield much power because he could do nothing to punish Mira.

Then, I was confused as to why the Alpha’s mother was still spending time with Mira when there was no longer a chance her son was going to make her Luna. And she just sits by letting Mira treat Anisa like trash.

In the end Mira gets her comeuppance but it’s sudden and brief. I felt like we needed some reconciliation with the parents over how they treated Anisa but we get none of that. Also, I felt it was a little too easy for the Alpha to restore his mate bond after rejecting it. Overall, it was missing some essential pieces for me.

This book was pretty weak and predictable, for the most part. I didn't like that it basically started after they were together for a year and a half and are having problems conceiving. I think because of this, I don't feel there was enough groveling, by far, once she went back to him.

Editing-wise, I did find some missing punctuation, but only one or two instances.

What a piece of crap. Everyone was terrible to her, as if her value as a person lies in her ability to procreate. I am only 20% in, and i dont see how Case doesnt see how Mira and his mom are conspiring together for all of it.

I'm at 27%, and how oblivious is Case? To think he thought she would just agree to staying while he mated and slept with someone else? Seriously? What an idiot. Then, he realizes how dumb it was later, then the next chapter was wondering again why she didn't go for it. Dude!

I see this again and again, but I have to ask again: why is there a council that is so powerful? At this point, the king is a figurehead and pointless. It's irritating that they make such demands and force the king to do such things. There is no point to a king anymore.

This pack needs to be put on blast for how they treated her. Now that she's back and pregnant, they all like her again? Ugh, they are all crappy people.

I would have either left that pack again or seriuosly shamed them all for how they treated her when she couldn't get pregnant. Like it was her fault! And not one person apologized to her about it. OK, I was wrong about his mom being part of the conspiracy, but she was just as bad as the rest of the pack, and Anisa is just OK to go along with the sunshine and rainbows now that she is pregnant.

I seriously would have thought she would have done something to help the rogues she lived with, if nothing else. She supposedly had such a terrible time, but she was quick to leave and forget all of them, too.

I would not recommend this book, as it was wea, predictable, and just not great.

There are too many obvious and massive plot holes.

Case and Anisa are fated mates, Mira is the jealous friend who wants Case and Crown.

All of them are the worst.

Case is weak, spineless, and stupid. The council seems to actually have all the power so he's pretty much just a figurehead anyways. He should have known better about Mira because it was obvious she couldn't keep her mouth shut.

Anisa can be described as the woman in that Miranda Lambert song "mommas broken heart" Like, good for her for plotting that revenge and all, but she ends up just being a pushover. As long as she got to be popular again, she was quick to forgive literally everyone who turned their back on her except Case.

Mira is the master manipulator and is probably the smartest of the bunch. She's got the wool pulled over everyone's eyes, and exploits her position as untouchable so well she gets away with attempted murder and harassment of Anisa time and time again.

The whole plot of the story is Anisa is rejected because she couldn't get pregnant, she finally gets pregnant and the council is like meh, pushing a pregnant woman carrying the heir into a freezing cold river is fine. Plotting with witches to oust her is fine. Poisoning Anisa is fine...

and in the end Case is like fuck it. Tells the council to pound sand, he's taking his pregnant mate and leaving, giving up his crown in the process. All because the council wouldn't oust Mira. The only reason Case and Anisa end up staying is because Mira is found dead the morning after. The whole ending scenario just makes Case look even weaker and makes Anisa look like a gold-digger.

I just couldn’t forgive the Alpha or his pack!

So the book is good. I’m a little over half way through but had to express how mad I still am at Anisa’s in-laws and her mate. I think she should’ve been much colder and meaner to everyone. But Anisa is clearly super nice and kind…she shouldn’t have been. As soon as she got back to New Moon pack, she was nice to her b*tch of a MIL who was trying to set Mira and Case up before she was even rejected. She wouldn’t invite her to dinner or anything anymore. She was so cold to Anisa when she didn’t conceive soon enough. The day she got back after her ordeal, Anisa was coldly addressed by MIL and once she found out A was pregnant, MIL was nice and asked to touch her belly, which A agreed! Like WTF?!! Hell no. And then Case was so surprised with her not quickly settling down and taking him back. The pack and the maids and guards were all rude and cruel to her and I feel at this point they just got away with it and it has me reeling! Hoping she’ll toughen up and snap at some a**holes soon.

terrible terrible story and characters

For a person who was abandoned and had to rely on the kindness of others, Anisa sure was quick to throw away the people who helped her in her time of need. All for the very man who rejected her. Pretty gross behavior actually. At least with Mira what you see is what you get. She’s no nonsense, straight up evil but with Anisa she’s so insufferably entitled. She’s actually perfect for her powerless, ignorant, not to mention clueless alpha king ex.

Also, why did no one have a sense of danger, wariness or common sense for that matter? Mira transparently hated Anisa and none of the royals or even freaking Anisa herself thought to be suspicious of Mira? Not even when Alpha King Case found out that the Seer Mira BROUGHT OVER lied? No, but I actually lost some brain cells over this rage bait. All the characters are much too smooth brained for me.

A fine read

I liked that the H acknowledges his wrongdoing and respects the h and doesn't bulldoze over her to make her reconcile with him faster.
I did not like the way the council vs King was handled. In what universe is the king so powerless that the OW can literally push the pregnant alphas mate off a cliff and he can't do anything about it?!?! BC it's her word against hers.... and this random pack member is immune to all punishments??? The author tried so hard to create the obstacles the couple would face that she went too far and made the H seem weak. He was powerless against the OW machinations in an unrealistic way. He was powerless against his council FORCING him to reject his fated mate?!? It went too far to believe.
But I did like the H more than most, especially in this genre. He didn't want to do the thing that hurt her, and he wasn't blind to the OW evil, just powerless and a bit naive.

Well, he was an alpha king in name only. His actions were more omega than alpha or beta or even a poor old gamma. This guy had absolutely no agency over his own actions. Seer tells him his mate is barren. Dump the mate. OW tries multiple times to maim or kill his mate. Too bad. He only has the authority to tell her to stay 20 feet away. He brings hard evidence of an assassination attempt to the Head Council and they ignore it. But somehow, this one female wolf seems to have a mystical hold on the same Head council. Groovy. Except the author never taxes her brain to tell us why. Or how. And then, like in every really bad horror movie, the hero - knowing the killer OW is on the loose - sends his heavily pregnant, can’t shift to defend herself mate, TO HER ROOM BY HERSELF TO PACK. OMG, could this be any dumber????? No. An emphatic NOOOOOO.

Rejected Mate

This was a different take on cruel alpha rejecting mate and being a total dirtbag that he has to grovel, and usually not nearly enough, to get the girl back. I actually liked Case and had so much sympathy for his situation. I do feel like the ending was a bit rushed where Mira was concerned and would have liked to see the elder that was so evil be removed somehow due to his very obvious favoring of Mira.

All in all a very entertaining book.

great read

This was a great read. My only issue is with Anissa’s character. Never mentioned she hated her original pack then somehow ended saying so later on. She only seem to care about her status. She easily forgave her mother in law but took forever to forgive Case. Her cold attitude towards the people who helped her when she was down on her luck was disgusting.

4.5 ⭐️

I was going to give it four stars. But the ending was spectacular. Don’t forgo reading the epilogue. It was wonderful. The book itself was OK. Didn’t tie up loose ends that it should have. In a place it just seems like the story truncated. But the ending was excellent. Made other things forgivable. 🔥🔥🔥🔥.5/5

A bit different

This was pretty good. I liked that the plot was a bit different from the normal where they meet, he rejects her, time goes by… While there was OW drama he didn’t feed into it which was great.

Jodi Picoult ex Machina

The book is pretty good- doesn't match its summary blurb, but still good. The highlights were that the MMC gives good grovel, FMC has a (more realistically) hard time forgiving him, and the ending has a very Jodi Picoult feel.

Spoiler alert , surprise ending

Really liked this ebook . Recommend it to anyone looking for a heartfelt paranormal romance with a little suspense . Wasn't expecting what happened to the antagonist at the end , vengeful much ? She had it coming .

Absolutely worth reading.

From the beginning of this story I felt the emotions of the characters. There is love, pain, rejection, loss, danger, attempted murder and a surprise ending.

It was a ok read. Didn’t like that the king had no control of his kingdom. Also the description of the book wasn’t correct.

I knew the Seer was lying and Mira was up to no good. All I know is Anisa has a big heart to forgive all who wronged her, especially her mate.
